Thelma Tucker
Thelma Tucker, 89, of 4814W 100S, Wabash, IN 46992, died Monday, March 9, 1998 at Wabash Healthcare Center, Wabash, IN. She was born June 20, 1908 in Kosciusko County, IN to Phillip and Mary (Sellers) Brown. She married Mahlon A. Tucker in Claypool, IN on May 31, 1935 and he died Oct. 21, 1986.
A 1928 graduate of Warsaw High School, she was retired from Wabash Magnetics. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Wabash.
Survivors include two granddaughters - Lisa Hearn and Angie DeLauter, both of Wabash, IN; and five great-grandchildren. A daughter, three sisters and three brothers preceded her in death.
Friends may call at the Grandstaff-Hentgen Main Street Chapel in Wabash Wednesday (today) from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral service will be held at the Main Street Chapel, 86 E. Main St., Wabash, Thursday, March 12, 1998 at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. J. Dean Gifford will officiate and burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery of Marion, IN.
Grandstaff-Hentgen Fun-eral Service is in charge of arrangements, and preferred memorials are to Calvary Baptist Church.

David A. Parker
David Allan Parker, 54, of 2714 N. Richmond Drive, Muncie, IN, died Monday, Mar. 9, 1998 at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis, following an illness. He was born April 17, 1943 at Akron, IN to Dr. Philip J. and the late Patrica L. (Troutman) Parker. He married Carolyn B. Heltzel April 9, 1966 in Los Angeles, CA.
He had been a resident of Muncie since 1979, having lived at North Vernon, IN prior to that. He graduated from Akron High School and earned his B.S. in Education from Manchester College, and his Masters Degree from Indiana University. He taught high school in the Sturgis, (MI), North Vernon (IN) and Yorktown (IN) school systems. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Indiana State Teachers Association.
He is survived by a daughter, Leslie G. Parker of Ft. Pierce, FL; a son, Eric E. and wife, Catherine Parker of Indianapolis; a grand-daughter, Darcy Parker of Indianapolis; two step grandsons, John and Joshua Boone of Indianapolis; his father, Dr. Philip J. Parker, Ph.D. of Warsaw; a sister, Sandra Denton and niece, Tricia Denton, both of Rochester, IN. His mother preceded him in death in 1981.
Friends may call Thursday, Mar. 12, from 4 to 8 p.m. or one hour prior to services Friday at the Foster & Good Funeral Home, of Rochester. Funeral service will be held at the Funeral Home Friday, March 13, 1998 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Juanita Kuhn officiating. Burial will be in Athens Cemetery, Athens, IN.

Belinda G. Webb
Belinda Gay Webb, 35, of 2863S 700W Lot 2, Wabash, IN, died Monday, March 10, 1997 at Wabash County Hospital, Wabash, IN. She was born Jan. 26, 1962 at Wabash, IN to Cletus Webb and Inez Pickering He-witt.
A lifetime resident of Wabash, she attended the Wabash Chapel Church of God, and at-tended Southwood High School.
She is survived by her mother Inez Hewitt of Wabash; her fa-ther, Cletus Webb of Ashland, KY; a brother, Bradley Webb of Fremont, IN; her stepfather Sam Hewitt of Wabash; stepmother, Bonnie Webb of Ashland, KY; grandparents Roy and Elva (Webb) Smith of Wabash; half sisters Beth Ann Powell, Melissa Kay Powell and Whitney Hewitt, all of Wabash; and step sister Jody Setler of Ashland, KY.
Friends may call at the Manchester Ave. Chapel Grand-staff-Hentgen Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. where funeral service will be held Thursday, March 13, 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Ralph Johnson and Rev. Ray Landis officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawns Cemetery of Wabash.

Rose M. Carpenter
Rose Marie Carpenter, 48, of 104 E. Second St., North Manchester, died March 8, 1997 at Wabash County Hospital, Wabash, IN. She was born Aug. 21, 1948 at Warsaw, IN to Charles and Doris (Davis) Hubler, both deceased. A homemaker, she married Don-ald Carpenter Oct. 19, 1973 and he survives. She was a member of the Christian Fellowship Church.
Other survivors include sons James, Charles and Donald B. Carpenter of North Manchester, and a daughter, Doris Elizabeth Hubler, also of North Manch-ester; two brothers, David Hubler of North Manchester and Norman Hubler of Warsaw; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 11 at the Chris-tian Fellowship Church of North Manchester with the Revs. J. P. Freeman and Ralph Dotson offi-ciating. Burial was in Harrison Center Cemetery of Kosciusko County, IN.

Kay S. Shideler
Kay Staton Shideler, 38, of 217 N. Nancy St., Warren, IN, died March 7, 1997 at E.R., Hunting-ton Memorial Hospital. She suf-fered a massive heart attack at work Friday night and died shortly after arrival at Hunting-ton Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Bath County, Kentucky March 5, 1959 to William E. and Betty L. (Purvis) Staton, both of whom survive in North Manchester, IN. She married Mark Shideler Feb. 14, 1997 at Warren, IN. A 1977 graduate of Manchester High School, she was employed as a clerk at Gene's Market in War-ren, and was also a Fire Mate at the Warren Volunteer Fire Department.
Survivors include two sons, Jeremy Clarkson and Charles Shideler, both of the Warren area; four daughters, also of the Warren Area, including Barbara Clarkson, Jennifer Shideler, Marissa Shideler and Megan Shideler; two brothers, Burnie Station and Wayne Staton, both of North Manchester; two sis-ters, Nola King of Warsaw and Iva Staton of Rochester.
Funeral service was held Tuesday, March 11, 1997 at the Bergman-Glancy H. Brown & Son Funeral Home, Warren, IN, with the Rev. Lynn Mefferd offi-ciating. Burial was in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Warren Volunteer Fire Department or Tri Township E.M.S., both of Warren, IN.

Joseph E. Speicher
Joseph E. Speicher, 84, of Winter Haven, FL, died Friday, March 7, 1997 at Winter Haven Hospital.
He was born in Wabash County, IN Aug. 9, 1912, and moved to Winter Haven six years ago from Lake Alfred, FL. He was a Lutheran by Faith, and had been a farmer.
He married Ruth Wendel, who preceded him in death in Jan-uary, 1997.
Survivors include a son, Melvin Speicher of Tibioute, PA; brothers John Speicher, Bob Speicher and Paul Speicher, all of North Manchester, IN; and a sister Eva Snyder of North Manchester; two grandchildren and one great grandchild.
A memorial service will be planned at a later date. Ott Laughlin Funeral Home of 645
W. Central Ave., Winter Haven,FL is in charge of arrangements.

Reba M. Crist
Reba Mae Crist, 92, of 1900 Alber St., Wabash, IN, died March 8, at Community Care Center, Wabash, IN. She was born Dec. 27,1904 at Paris, IL to Charles and Grace (Plow) Ever-hart. She married Chester William Crist Feb. 6, 1929 in Kokomo, IN and he died Jan. 2, 1956. She was a sales clerk at Beitman & Wolf in Wabash for 27 years.
Survivors include a daughter, Rita Ann Crist of Wabash; three sisters - Martha Wert and Dea Wiggins, both of Marion, IN, and Betty Weaver of New Al-bany, IN. Three brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
Funeral service was held Monday, March 10, 1997 at Falls Cemetery, Wabash, IN. Main St. Chapel Grandstaff-Hentgen Fu-neral Service was in charge of arrangements. Preferred memo-rials are to Wabash County Hospital Foundation.

Buddy E. Grossnickle
Buddy E. Grossnickle, 57, of 254 Ross Ave., Wabash, IN died Thursday, March 6, 1997 at Wabash County Hospital. He was born Sept. 21, 1939 at North Manchester, IN to the late Cecil Grossnickle and Edna E. (Steller) Grossnickle of Wabash. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He married Janice Eppley Feb. 20, 1960 and she survives, along with sons Dennis Grossnickle of Monticello, IN and Randall (wife, Carrie) Grossnickle of Wabash; daughters Mrs. Chris (Shelly) Trowbridge of Hobart, IN and Mrs. Brian (Lisa) Marks of Wabash; a brother, Roger Grossnickle of North Manchester and a sister, Mrs. Jeannice Hapner of North Manchester; granddaughters Lindsay Coe, Megan Marks, Josie Grossnickle and Abbey Grossnickle; and grandsons Mark Marks, and Auston Trowbridge.
Funeral was held Tuesday, March 11, 1997 at Eddingfield-DeLaughter Mortuary, Wabash, with Rev. J. P. Freeman officiat-ing.

Glenn W. Minard
Glenn W. Minard, 84, of 199 Ross Ave., Wabash, IN died Thursday, Mar. 6, 1997 at Wabash County Hospital, Wabash, IN. He was born Sept. 16, 1912 at Bourbon, IN to Willard and Lula (Keller) Minard, both deceased. He married Margaret (Marge) Clark March 10, 1956 in Muncie, IN.
He was a member of the Wabash Presbyterian Church, a 50-year member of Wabash Hanna Masonic Lodge #61 F.& A.M., Wabash Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, a past Patron of the Eastern Star and Fort Wayne Scottish Rite, and the Wabash A.A.R.P. Glenn was a retired self-employed roofing contractor in the Wabash area.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret of Wabash; sisters Sarah Swanson of Warsaw and Jane Cooper of Cleveland, OH; brothers Don Minard of Muncie and James Minard of St. Louis, MO. Two sisters preceded him in death.
Masonic services were held Sunday evening at the Manchester Ave. Chapel Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Home. Funeral was held Monday, March 10, 1997 at the funeral home with Rev. Jeffrey D. Smith officiating. Burial was in Memorial Lawns Cemetery.
Preferred memorials may be given to the American Heart As-sociation or the Wabash County Cancer Society.

Donald R. Ross
Donald R. Ross, 67, a retired Jackson Township, Kosciusko County farmer, died Friday March, 7, 1997 after suffering a heart attack at his home west of South Whitley.
He was born Nov. 20, 1929 in Whitley County, a son of Lloyd and Merdena Mishler Ross. At the age of five, his family moved to the farm in Jackson Township where he was to spend the rest of his life. He completed his ed-ucation in the Sidney High School.
He married Bonnie L. Warner August 21, 1948, and she sur-vives.
He was a member of the Spring Creek Church of the Brethren.
In addition to his wife, other survivors include three daughters, Gwyna Ross, Mrs. Dennis (Martha) Firestone and Mrs. Dennis (Kathy) Rhoades, all of South Whitley; a son and his wife, John and Laura (Coble) Ross of South Whitley; six grandchildren, Libby and Matt Firestone, Douglas Rhoades, Ja-son, James and Jordan Ross. He was preceded in death by his parents and his stepmother, Mabel.
Funeral service was held Monday, March 10, 1997 at the Smith & Sons Miller Chapel of South Whitley with Pastor Sam Han of the Spring Creek Church of the Brethren, officiating. Burial was in the church ceme-tery, Jackson Township, Kosciusko County.

Jessie L. Bass
Jessie Lee Bass, 94, of Peabody Retirement Community, died Thursday, March 6, 1997 at Peabody Healthcare Center, North Manchester. She was born Oct. 19, 1902 in Pike County, IN to John and Alice (Mounts) McCrary.
She married John D. Bass May 5, 1943; he died April 9, 1963. He was a Ford dealer in Princeton, IN. Jessie Lee worked as a bookkeeper for many years for Butterfield and Smith in Evansville. She was a high school graduate and attended Lockyears Business Col-lege in Evansville, IN. She came to Peabody in July 1969 form Princeton, IN. She was a mem-ber of the Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include a nephew, Eldon McCrary of Shreveport, LA; also several additional nieces and nephews. Two broth-ers and seven sisters preceded her in death.
Funeral service was held Tuesday, March 11, 1997 at Peabody Chapel, Peabody Retirement Community with the Rev. Robert Schmeiser officiating. Burial took place in Montgomery Cemetery, located at Oakland City, IN where graveside service was held.

Bernice White
Bernice White, 91, of 7337W 200N, Wabash, IN died Wednesday, March 5, 1997 at Wabash County Hospital, Wabash. She was born Nov. 4, 1905 in Wabash County to Clarence and Pearl (Brothers) Engelman, both deceased.
She married Robert W. White April 11, 1930. She attended In-diana University and Manch-ester College. She taught school in Fort Wayne, Chili and Roann for a total of 35 years. She was a member of the Indiana Retired Teachers Association and a member of Bachelor Creek Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, Robert W. White of Wabash; a son, Robert D. White, also of Wabash; brothers Hubert Engelman of Wabash, Rev. Jim Engelman of St. Petersburg, FL, Dick Engelman of Wabash; sis-ters Dorothy Sheridan of Largo, FL, Eloise Kraning of Wabash, and Reba Mullins of Kokomo, IN; grandchildren Dean White and Michael White of Wabash and Cynthia Ann Studebaker of Beaver Dam Lake; also seven great grandchildren. A daughter, brother, two granddaughters and a sister preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 8, 1997 at Grandstaff-Hentgen-Manchester Ave. Chapel with John Lein-baugh and Tony Thomas offici-ating. Burial was in Mis-sissinewa Cemetery, Somerset, IN. Preferred memorials are to Bachelor Creek Church of Christ.

Frieda S. Freitag
Freida Schipper Freitag, 97, formerly of the North Manchester area, died Friday, Jan. 31 at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home in Cedar Falls, Iowa, of natural causes.
She was born Oct. 20, 1899 at Enos, IN, daughter of Eilt and Antje (Janssen) Schipper. She married Henry J. Freitag on Dec. 12, 1920 in Huntington, IN. She is survived by a son, Arnold J. Fre-itag of Cedar Falls, Iowa and three granddaughters: Judy Ann Freitag of Evanston, IL, Ruth Lovas of College Station, TX, and Amy Chott of Waterloo, Iowa; six great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Edward, Herman, Albert and Arnold; three sisters Anna Kam-pen, Annette Gaerte and Grace Brown, and one grandchild Janet Louise Freitag.
She completed studies at Manchester College, University of Illinois, Illinois Normal, Indi-ana University, University of Iowa, and Northwestern Univer-sity. She was an elementary school teacher for 22 years and taught in Illinois, Indiana and Florida. During her retirement years, she lived in North Manchester and Sarasota, FL. Since 1991 she has been a resi-dent of the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home and a member of St. John American Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls. She was an avid writer of poetry and published a collection of her poems titled Fondly with Love.
Memorial services will be held Friday, Feb. 7 at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home Chapel. In-terment will be at a later date with services in the Zion Lutheran Church, North Manchester, with burial at Fairview Cemetery, Servia, IN.
Memorials may be directed to the Zion Lutheran Church, North Manchester, St. John American Lutheran Church Li-brary or the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home Chapel.
