Charlotte A. Adrianson
Charlotte A. Adrianson, 71, of 828 East North "E" St., Gas City, IN, died Saturday, May 10, 1997 at Marion General Hospital. She was born in Gas City to Willis Ivan and Ruth (Barton) Karnes. She was a 1943 graduate of Gas City High School.
She was a Past President of the V.F.W. Post 6728 Women's Auxiliary and was a charter member of the auxiliary. An avid reader, she had worked at the Gas City License Branch for seven years.
Survivors include her husband, Jake; a son, Ray D. (wife Jena) of Greenwood, IN; daugh-ters Mrs. Don (Connie) Curry and Mrs. Bill (Mary A.) Hix, all of North Manchester; a brother, Bill Karnes of Sara-sota, FL and five grandchil-dren.
Funeral service was held Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. at the Needham-Storey Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City with Dr. Joe Seaborn officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery of Gas City.

Delma E. Purdy
Delma E. Purdy, 95, of 1229 Meadowbrook Ln., Apt. 2, Wabash, IN, died Sunday, May 11, 1997 at Community Care Center of Wabash. She was born Mar. 4, 1902 in Kosciusko County, IN to John L. and Per-milla (Batdorf) Kline. She mar-ried Lawrence Purdy Feb. 5, 1926 in Tiffin, OH; he died Au-gust 1, 1966.
She was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include three sons - Richard Purdy and Lawrence Marvin Purdy, both of Wabash and David Purdy of Roann; two daughters - Mrs. John (Connie) Lewis and Mrs. Shirley Frieden, both of Wabash; 14 grandchil-dren and 17 great grandchil-dren. A daughter, six brothers and three sisters pre-ceded her in death.
Funeral service was held today (Wednesday) May 14, at the Grandstaff-Hentgen Main Street Chapel, Wabash. Burial took place in the Friends Cemetery of Wabash.

Donald Green
Donald (Don) Green, 70, of 220 Dover St., Lagro, IN, died Friday, May 9, 1997 at Lutheran Hospital, Ft. Wayne, IN. He was born Jan. 24, 1927 in Johnstown, FL to Jeff and Reba (Anderson) Green. He married Goldie Mur-ray Aug. 29, 1953 at St. Marie, IL.
He was employed by Celotex Corporation of Lagro, and was a member of the Paperworkers Union #563.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons - Tim Green of North Manchester, and John and Daniel Green, both of Lagro; three daughters - Mrs. Larry (Shelley) Owen of Peru, Maria Green of Lagro, and Mrs. Kerry (Linda) Steele of Wabash; 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren; three brothers - Ray and Mer-ritte Green, both of Andrews, and Roger Green of Hunting-ton; and three sisters - Mrs. Jessie (Murley) Dyer, Lennie Earhart and Joyce Garri-son, all of Andrews. A brother, Frank, preceded him in death.
Funeral service was held Tuesday, May 13, 1997 at Deal-Robbins & Van Gilder Andrews Chapel, and burial was in Riverside Cemetery of Andrews.
Preferred memorials are to the American Lung Association.

Billy Ray Miracle
Billy Ray Miracle, 61, of 1210 Stitt St., Wabash, IN died at his residence May 9, 1997. He was born Dec. 23, 1935 at Lejunior, KY to Jasper and Celia Eliza-beth (Reece) Miracle, both de-ceased. He married Claudia Lackey in Las Vegas, NV Oct. 24, 1995.
He worked at British Tire & Rubber/Gen Corp in Wabash since 1968. He was a member of the Wabash American Legion Post 15, the Wabash Eagles Lodge, and was an Army Vet-eran.
In addition to his wife, Clau-dia of Wabash, he is survived by a son, Allen of Wabash, a step son, James Nelson of Wabash; three brothers, Ken-neth of New Tazewell, TN, Jackie and Doyle, both of Wabash; sisters Nyoka Daniels of New Tazewell, TN and Faye Blakeman of Skyland, NC; and three grandchildren. Two brothers preceded him in death.
Funeral service was held Tuesday, May 13, at the Grand-staff-Hentgen Main Street Chapel with the Rev. William Ryan officiating. Burial was in Falls Cemetery of Wabash.

David J. Mullin
David J. Mullin, 74, of 382 N. Carroll St., Wabash, died May 8, 1997 at Lutheran Hospital of Ft. Wayne. He was born July 10, 1922 at Rockfield, IN to Herman and Daisy (Berkshire) Mullin, both deceased. He was a 1949 graduate of Purdue University.
He married Maxine Wrights-man June 21, 1947, and she sur-vives. He was employed as a salesman for 35 years. He was a World War II Air Force vet-eran, a life member of the Elks Lodge of Wabash; also a mem-ber of the Moose, American Legion of Wabash, and Mt. Zion Masonic Lodge #211 of Camden, IN.
He was survived by his wife, Maxine; daughters Mrs. Pamela Bradley and Mrs. Gary (Marlene) Cooper, both of Wabash; a brother, Donald Mullin of Lafayette, IN; sisters Nancy Mullin and Mrs. Geral-dine Rice, both of Delphi, IN, Mrs. Adrinne McCain of Cam-den, IN and Mrs. Melvin (Martha) Spencer of Anderson; and grandchildren Heather and Wesley Cooper and Azure Bradley, and one great grandchild. A sister preceded him in death.
Funeral service was held Monday, May 12, 1997 at Eddingfield,-
DeLaughter Mortuary of Wabash with the Rev. Carl Hanser officiating. Military graveside service followed at Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash.

Mark J. Rice
Mark J. Rice, 80, died May 7, 1997 at Millers Merry Manor East where he had been a resident. He was born Sept. 1, 1917 at Marion, IN to Earl and Nora (Cauley) Rice, both deceased. He married Mary Ellen Weaver Sept. 7, 1936 and she died Dec. 8, 1985.
He was retired from "Advance Security" in Atlanta, GA. He was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church. He was a member of Knights of Columbus and a charter mem-ber of the Fa-ther Pettit Council in Wabash.
Survivors include daughters, Mrs. Max (Peg) Carter and Mrs. Vince (Judy) Baucco, both of Wabash; a brother, Philip Rice of Orlando, FL; 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grand-children and three great-great-grandchildren. A granddaugh-ter, a brother, and a sister pre-ceded him in death.
Funeral was held Saturday, May 10, 1997 at St. Bernard Catholic church of Wabash with Father Timothy Wrozek officiat-ing. Burial was in Falls Ceme-tery, Wabash.
Preferred memorials are to the St. Bernard's Scholarship Fund. Eddingfield-DeLaughter Mortuary was in charge of ar-rangements.

Clarice Kinzie
Clarice Pontius Kinzie, 88, a resident of Timbercrest Church of the Brethren Home, North Manchester, died Tuesday, April 30,1996, 2:35 p.m. at Wabash County Hospital. She was born Feb. 25, 1908 in Hartville, OH to Henry and Laura Pontius.
She has been a resident of Timbercrest since 1982, coming from Des Moines, Iowa where she was an elementary school music teacher in the Des Moines school system for 14 years, retiring in 1973.
She was a member of the Manchester Church of the Brethren, a 1930 graduate of Manchester College with a B.S. degree in Music Education, a member of the National Education Association, and was choir director of Stover Memorial Church of the Brethren of Des Moines for 34 years.
She married Galen W. Kinzie June 9, 1934 in Hartville, OH, and he survives along with a son, Larry K. Kinzie of San Antonio, TX, a daughter Beth Looker of Columbus Junction, Iowa, a brother Sherman Pontius of Canton, OH, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Two brothers preceded her in death.
Friends may call Friday, May 3, 1996 one hour prior to the memorial service which will be held at Timbercrest Church of the Brethren Chapel; the Revs. Susan Boyer and Bruce Hostetler will officiate. Burial will be at a later date at Merle Hay Cemetery in Des Moines.
Preferred memorials are to Manchester Church of the Brethren or Timbercrest Church of the Brethren Home.
Bender Chapel Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Zara D. Welch
Zara D. Welch, 80, of 3401 Soldiers Home Rd., West Lafayette, IN, died at 9:15 p.m. Monday, April 29, 1996 at Heritage Healthcare of West Lafayette. He was born in North Manchester, IN on June 28, 1915 to the late Dee and Mabel (Harshman) Welch. He graduated from Manchester College in 1937, received his Master Degree from Purdue in 1939, and his PhD from Purdue in 1942. He was a Professor Emeritus in Chemistry at Purdue University; he was with Purdue for 41 years.
Mr. Welch was a member of the North Manchester First Brethren Church. He participated in the Manhatten Project during World War II. He was a member of Lafayette Lions Club, Phi Lambda Upsilon, IN Academy of Science, American Chemical Society, Sigma Xi, American Association for the Advancement of Science, John Purdue Club and the Purdue Presidents Council.
He is survived by three nephews - Alan H. Welch of Lafayette, IN, Fred D. Baker of Rome, Italy, and Brian C. Welch of Brownsburg, IN; four nieces - Sharon R. Baker of Angola,IN, Becky A. Baker of Tippa Passes, KY, Cathy M. Conrad of Winona Lake, IN and Deanna K. Hughes of Lawrenceburg, IN. Also surviving are eight great nephews and two great nieces. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Harold (Lucile) Baker, a brother George Welch, a nephew, Mark Baker, two great nieces and a great nephew.
Friends may call at Hippensteel Funeral Home in Lafayette, IN from 7 to 9 p.m. today (Wednesday) with a Lions Club service at 8:15 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Hippensteel Funeral Home Chapel Thursday, May 2, 1996 at 2:30 p.m.
Those desiring may contribute in memoriam to Graduate Fellowships, Dept. of Chemistry, c/o Purdue University in W. Lafayette, IN.

Berniece E. Ebert
Berniece E. (Kline) Ebert, 91, a resident of Timbercrest Home, North Manchester, IN and former resident of Van Buren, IN, died Thursday, April 25, 1996 at Wabash County Hospital, Wabash, IN. She was born March 24, 1905 to Frederick Lawrence and Blanche (Anderson) Marsh.
A homemaker, she was first married to Ray L. Kline who preceded her in death Dec. 10, 1976. She married George T. Ebert Sept. 26, 1981 at Warren, IN, and he survives along with a son, Tex Kline of Coatesville, IN; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A son, Rex and daughter Dixie Lee preceded her in death. She had been a resident of Indianapolis, IN from 1939-1947.
She was a member of the Church of Christ, Warren, IN; she was a 50-year member of Order Eastern Star Ivy Chapter #69 which held a memorial service Saturday evening April 27, at the Bergman-Glancy H. Brown & Son Funeral Home.
Funeral service was held Sunday, April 28, at the funeral home in Warren, with the Rev. John Gasser officiating. Burial was in Van Buren Cemetery, Van Buren, IN.

Howard Adams III
Howard W. Adams III, 47, of 12600 S SR 13, North Manchester, IN died Tuesday, April 30, 1996 at his residence. He was born Nov. 15, 1948 at Philadelphia, PA, to Howard Ward and Grace Adams, Jr., both deceased. He married Merry S. Martin Dec. 30, 1982 in Warsaw, and she survives.
Mr. Adams was an employee at Biomet Inc. of Warsaw since 1989, having moved to Kosciusko County from Homeland, CA., where he completed his formal education. He was an Army veteran of Vietnam era, and was discharged July 15, 1966.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Megan K. Adams and Zachary W. Adams, all of North Manchester; two nieces and a nephew. A sister, Adina Mae Moorhouse, preceded him in death.
Friends may call at the DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home in Columbia City Thursday, May 2, from 6 to 7 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Society.

Ruby K. Cauffman
Ruby K. Cauffman, 96, of Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester, IN, died Friday, April 26, 1996 at Peabody Healthcare Center. She was born Sept. 12, 1899 at Atwood, IN to Elias and Mary E. (Wright) Klinger.
She married Samuel Russel Cauffman Oct. 30, 1918 in Atwood; he died May 26, 1964. She was a member of the Packerton United Methodist Church, Claypool, IN.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Evelyn) Knight and Mrs. Robert (Louise) Partridge, both of North Manchester; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and two step great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.
Funeral service was held Monday, April 29, at the Bender Chapel Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, North Manchester, with the Rev. Fred Orr officiating. Burial was in Graceland Cemetery.
Preferred memorials are to the Packerton United Methodist Church.

Lawrence G. Howard
Lawrence Gray Howard, 66, of 972W 900S, Claypool, IN, died Tuesday, May 20, 1997 at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, IN. He was born Aug. 31, 1930 at Prestonsburg, KY to Chester and Jonie (England) Howard. He married Magdalene Ousley March 31, 1951. He has been a resident of Kosciusko County for 55 years.
A retired farmer and retired from Gripco Products, South Whitley, IN, he was a U.S. Navy veteran, honorably discharged February 9, 1950. He was a member of the gospel Hill Pentecostal Church of Silver Lake.
Survivors include his wife, Magdalene of Claypool; two sons - Jim Howard of Warsaw and Tim Howard of Claypool; two daughters - Sharon Roe of Warsaw and Cheryl Buell of Claypool; a sister, Buretia Clark of West Palm Beach, FL; and ten grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons - Larry and Gary Howard, and a brother, Alonzo Howard.
Friends may call Thursday, May 22, 1997 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Titus Funeral Home in Warsaw. Funeral service will be held Friday, May 23, 2:00 p.m. at Gospel Hill Pentecostal Church of Silver Lake, with the Rev. Frank Whitaker officiating. Burial will be in Silver Lake Cemetery.
Preferred memorials are to the Gospel Hill Pentecostal Church, SR 15S, Silver Lake, IN 46982.
