Harry A. Panzarella
Harry Anthony Panzarella, 83, died May 28, 1996 at Palomar Medical Center, Escondido, CA. He was born Dec. 27, 1912 at Rochester, NY. He had been a resident of Escondido for 20 years, and previously resided at La Habra, CA. He was a retired chief communication technician with the U.S. Navy, serving in the Navy from 1936 thru 1965.
Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Ida May (Huffman) Panzarella of Escondido and formerly of North Manchester, IN; a daughter, Tometa Anderson of Rochester, NY; two sisters, Phyllis Gipple of Apple Valley, CA and Lillian Ingersoll of Whittier, CA.
Memorial service was held May 31, 1996 at Emmanuel Faith Community Church, Building #6, Escondido, CA with Rev. John Hull officiating. Burial with full military honors was presented at graveside Monday, June 3, 1996 at Ft. Rosecrans National Cemetery, Ft. Loma, CA. Alhiser-Wilson Mortuary of Escondido was in charge of arrangements.

John L. Donaldson
John L. Donaldson, 83, a Timbercrest resident formerly of Peru, Rt. 3, died Monday, May 27, 1996 at Wabash County Hospital. He was born April 9, 1913 at Denver, IN to Albert and Emma Arelina (English) Donaldson. He married Veva A. Ambler June 24, 1939 and she survives. He was a retired Principal and School teacher, having graduated from Peru H.S. in 1931, Manchester College in 1935, and Indiana University in 1941. He taught at Butler Township, Chili, North Grove, and Peru Community Schools.
Survivors include his wife at Timbercrest; children Suzanne McClure of North Manchester, Nancy E. McGuire of Mexico, IN, David J. Donaldson and Mark L. Donaldson, both of Rt. 3, Peru, IN; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A brother, Robert E. and two sisters, Dorothy Whitworth and Elizabeth Mullinix preceded him in death.
Funeral service was held May 30, 1996 at the Mexico Church of the Brethren with Pastor Tim Deardorff officiating. Burial was in Greenlawn Cemetery of Mexico.
Preferred memorials are to Crestwood Dementia Wing, Timbercrest, North Manchester. Arrangements were by McClain Funeral Home, Denver, IN.

Grove G. Lautzenhiser
Grove G. Lautzenhiser, 75, died June 9, 1997 in the Apple Valley Care Center, Apple Valley, CA. Born Nov. 27, 1921 in North Manchester, he lived in California 46 years, the past years in Apple Valley.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and was a traffic manager for the Port of Anchorage and the Port of Los Angeles from which he retired in 1975.
Survivors include his wife, Marion; son, John of Whit-tier, CA; siblings Virginia Hipsher of Indianapolis, IN, Marjorie Sincroft and John of North Manchester, and Eileen Johnston of Wilmette, IL.
A memorial service was held June 24, 1997 at Rose Hills, Whittier, CA.

James L. Ballschmidt
James Lee Ballschmidt, 29, of 6207 E. Division Rd., Lagro, IN, died June 30, 1997 at his home. He was born at Wabash, May 31, 1968 to Jensowe and Peggy Ann (Schlemmer) Ballschmidt. He never married.
He worked as a pipefitter for the Public Works Department in the Naval Construction Battalion Center, Port Hueneme, CA. He was a 1985 graduate of Northfield High School, and served in the U.S. Navy after high school for five years. He served two tours of duty in Guam, two tours in Spain and served in Desert Storm.
Survivors include his parents, Jensowe and Peggy Ann Ballschmidt of Lagro; a brother, Eric P. Ballschmidt, Lagro; and grandparents Elfriede Ballschmidt of Lagro and Bernice Schlemmer of Lagro.
Friends may call at Manchester Avenue Chapel Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service today (Wednesday) from 2 to 8 p.m. Funeral will be at Lagro United Methodist Church Thursday, July 3, 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Allen T. Goebbert officiating. Burial will take place in the Lagro Cemetery.
Grandstaff-Hentgen Manchester Ave. Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Lois E. Hantelman
Lois E. Hantelman, 63, of 3490 Neher Rd., Silver Lake, IN, died Saturday, July 19, 1997 at her home. She was born Sept. 13, 1933 in Wabash County to Noah and Nora (Renicker) Yoder. She married Donald W. Hantelman April 16, 1952 in Biloxi, Mississippi.
She was a lifetime North Manchester and Silver Lake area resident. She was a homemaker and a member of the Eel River Old German Baptist Church, Kosciusko County, IN.
She is survived by her husband Donald W. of Silver Lake; a son, Tony K. Hantelman of Silver Lake; and daughters Mrs. David (Pamela K.) Callaway and Mrs. Dwight (Jennifer J.) Wagoner, both of Silver Lake; a sister, Mrs. Robert (Louise) Hess of Chambersburg, PA and eight grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Tuesday, July 22, 1997 at the Eel River Old German Baptist Church with the Home Brethren officiating. Burial was in Old German Baptist Cemetery, located at North Manchester, IN.
Arrangements were by Bender Chapel Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service.

Ruth Anna Taylor
Ruth Anna Taylor, 87, of 502 Elizabeth Drive, Lancaster, PA, died Sunday, July 13 at Lancaster General Hospital after a brief illness.
She was born in Wabash, Nov. 20, 1909, the daughter of the late Guy and Hattie Melick Grove.
She is survived by her husband, the Rev. Lynn Taylor. They were married 62 years in June.
She was a church secretary for 15 years at Grace Chapel, Havertown, PA. She also worked as a bookkeeper at Calvary Church until 1987.
She was a 1927 graduate of Central High School in North Manchester, and a 1931 graduate of Manchester College. She was also a graduate of Moody Bible Institute.
Young Funeral Home of 317 E. Orange, Lancaster, PA, was in charge of arrangements.

W. Norine Eppley
W. Norine Eppley, 80, of 517 A Bryan Ave., Wabash, IN, and formerly of North Manchester, IN, died Sunday, July 20, 1997 at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, IN. She was born Jan. 23, 1917 at Pennville, IN to Emery and Bertha (Lawson) Robinson, both deceased.
Mrs. Eppley graduated from Somerset High School with the Class of 1934. She had worked with the Bible School program at the church just three weeks ago. She was a member of the North Manchester United Methodist Church.
She had been employed for 24 years at Eaton Controls Co. of North Manchester. She married Kenneth H. Eppley Sept. 5, 1937 and he preceded her in death July 7, 1981.
Survivors include sons Charles (Chuck) Eppley of Wabash and Robert (Bob) Eppley of Aliso Viejo, CA; a daughter, Mrs. Janice Grossnickle of Wabash, and a very close friend, Arlene Robinson; brothers Lee Robinson of Wabash and Elburn (Gay) Robinson of Warsaw; and sisters Mrs. Arthur (Berneal) Tinkle of Wabash, Mary Radabaugh of Somerset, and Mrs. Merrett (Marjorie) Featheringill of Tupelo, Mississippi; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A brother preceded her in death.
Funeral service was held today (Wednesday, July 23, 1997) at the Eddingfield-DeLaughter Mortuary, 231 Falls Ave., Wabash with the Rev. William Hemmig officiating. Burial was in Friends Cemetery of Wabash.
Preferred memorials are to the Cancer Society.

Ruth A. Monroe
Ruth A. Monroe, 99, of Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester, died Saturday, July 19, 1997 at Peabody Healthcare Center. She was born in Ripley County, IN to David R. and Minerva (Lockridge) Krom Nov. 4, 1897.
She married Willard Howe in 1940 and he died Aug. 21, 1967. She was a seamstress and for six years, was employed at Peabody Retirement Community. She was a member of the Congregational Christian Church of North Manchester.
Survivors include a daughter, Betty McDermott of Kansas City, MO; and a brother, Myron Krom of North Manchester; 12 grandchildren and several great and great-great grandchildren. Two sons, a daughter, four brothers and a sister preceded her in death.
Graveside service was held Tuesday, July 22, 1997, at Fairview Cemetery, Servia, with the Rev. Robert Schmeiser officiating.
DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.

Royal L. Spangle
Royal L. Spangle, 84, of 2435W 1000N, Laketon, IN died Thursday, July 17, 1997 at Miller's Merry Manor East, Wabash, IN. He was born at Silver Lake, IN, Kosciusko County, March 13, 1913 to Earl and Elsie (Ervin) Spangle. He married Catherine Shafer Nov. 16, 1937, and was a member of the Laketon Wesleyan Church.
Mr. Spangle had been employed with the former Huskie-Harlan Co. and the former Warner Brooder Co., both of North Manchester. He retired from the maintenance department at Manchester College.
Survivors include sons Lester Spangle of Silver Lake; a brother, Joe Spangle of Claypool, IN; sisters Mrs. Lucille Ford of Claypool and Mrs. Opal Sterling of Warsaw; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Louis Spangle, five brothers and a sister.
Funeral service was held Monday, July 21, 1997 at DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary of North Manchester, with the Rev. Jim Robbins officiating. Burial was in Lakeview Cemetery of Silver Lake.
Preferred memorials are to Laketon Wesleyan Church. DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.

Scott A. Sechrist
Scott A. Sechrist, 21, of 9891W 1000S, Akron, IN died Thursday, July 17, 1997, the result of an automobile accident which took place at Fulton CR 925E and SR 14 near Akron. He was born Oct. 8, 1975 at Warsaw, IN to Rick and Louanne (Weber) Sechrist. He lived most of his life in the Warsaw and Akron communities.
He was employed by Helser's Metal Finishing, Inc. of Warsaw. He was a member of the Beaver Dam United Methodist Church, and a 1994 graduate of Tippecanoe Valley High School. He had attended Manchester College of North Manchester, and St. Joseph College in Rensselaer, IN. He enjoyed golfing and fishing.
Survivors include his mother Louanne Sechrist of Akron; his father and step mother, Rick and DeAnn Sechrist of Louisville, KY; sisters, Mrs. John (Carrie) Harrold of Warsaw and Rhonda Sechrist, at home; a half sister, Rachael Sechrist of Louisville, KY; half brothers Cole Sechrist of Louisville, KY and Kevin Hileman of Chicago, IL; and maternal grandparents, Walter and June Weber of Akron, IN.
Funeral service was held Monday, July 21, 1997 at the Beaver Dam United Methodist Church, north of Akron, with the Rev. Evelyn Cain officiating. Burial was at Rochester I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Rochester, IN.
Foster & Good Funeral Home, Inc. of Akron was in charge of arrangements. Preferred memorials may be made to the Beaver Dam United Methodist Church.

Judith Talley
Judith Talley, 55, of Bloomington, IN, died Monday, July 14, 1997 at her residence, a victim of breast cancer. She was born Feb. 27, 1942 in Hannibal, MO, the daughter of Charles L. and Grace K. (Heckman) Gottman.
She was past director of the Bloomington Hospital Foundation, and was a member of St. Marks United Methodist Church, member and past president of Bloomington Rotary Club where she was a Paul Harris Fellow in 1988; and Kentucky Colonels. She was Girls Club Woman of the Year in 1990. She received her B.S. degree in Business Education in 1964 from Manchester College and her M.S. degree in counseling in 1979 from Indiana University.
Survivors include her husband, John Staggs of Bloomington; a son, Doug Talley of Indianapolis; a daughter, Christine Haseman of Jeffersonville, IN; a sister, Evelyn Bickel of Fort Wayne. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Jim Talley.
Funeral service was held July 18, 1997 at St. Marks United Methodist Church, with Rev. John Wantz officiating. Burial was in Valhalla Memory Gardens. Friends who wish might make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Association (for breast research), the American Red Cross, or to St. Marks United Methodist Church Building Fund.

Eileen M. Boocher
Eileen M. Boocher, 83, of Mason Healthcare Center, Warsaw, IN and formerly of Sidney, IN, died Wednesday, July 16, 1997 at Mason Healthcare Center. She was born Oct. 9, 1913 at Sidney, IN to Albert and Minnie (Leckrone) Miller.
She was a 1932 graduate of Sidney High School, and was a member of the Christian Fellowship Church of North Manchester. A homemaker and seamstress, she married Oscar Boocher Nov. 24, 1938 and he died May 27, 1982.
Survivors include sons Roger Boocher and Dick Boocher, both of Columbia City, IN, and Robert Boocher of Leesburg, IN; a daughter, Marylin Ulrey of Columbia City; six grandchildren and three step grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and three step great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers.
Funeral service was held Saturday, July 19, 1997 at DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary with the Rev. J. P. Freeman officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery of Servia, IN.
