Donald C. Miller
Donald C. Miller, 73, passed away on June 23, 1998 in Kissimmee, FL. He was born in Wabash County, Indiana to Esta and Dora Miller on August 30, 1924.
He was a 1942 graduate of Chester High School and married Norma Bechtold on September 8, 1945.
He is survived by his wife, Norma; a son, Mark Miller of Golden, Colorado and a daughter, Mrs. James (Dora) Schember of Cranbury, New Jersey; also three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth and Carl (Pete) Miller and a sister, Louise Zimpelman.
Memorials may be sent to the Good Samaritan Endowment Fund at 1550 Aldersgate Drive in Kissimmee, FL 34746.

Berneice L. Briner Paul
Berneice L. Briner Paul, 80, of 1515 Hedde Street, Huntington, IN, died Tuesday, Aug.. 12, 1997 at the home of her daughter in Huntington, IN. She was born Sept. 19, 1916 in Wabash County to William Jacob and Emma (Strobel) Zinsmeister, both deceased.
She married Wayne K. Briner August 11, 1940 in Huntington County and he preceded her in death Sept. 16, 1975. Her second marriage was to Garnett Paul on May 7, 1977 in Huntington, and he preceded her in death June 4, 1993.
She attended St. John's Reform Church of Bippus, IN. She was a seamstress for Sparkle Cleaners in Fort Wayne for 10 years. She was a homemaker and farmed for many years in Chester Township, Wabash County.
Survivors include the one daughter, Lois J. Fox of Huntington; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Leroy (Dorcus) Bishop of North Manchester; a brother, Franklin D. Zinsmeister of North Manchester; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 W. Park Drive, Huntington, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral service will be held at the Bailey-Love Mortuary in Huntington on Thursday, August 14, at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Chris Moellering and Rev. Elzie Spencer will officiate. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.
Preferred memorial contributions may be made to Home Health Care & Hospice, 1215 Etna Ave., Huntington, IN 46750, or to Gospel Community Church, 404 Grayston Ave., Huntington, IN 46750 or to First Brethren Church, 509 E. State St., Huntington, IN 46750.

LeRoy M. Fish
LeRoy M. Fish, 100, a resident of Timbercrest Retirement Community, North Manchester, died at Timbercrest Healthcare Center Sunday, August 10, 1997. He was born Dec. 24, 1896 at Elkhart, IN to Amos A. and Anna Mae (Kindy) Fish. He married Lena V. Karns June 3, 1919 and she died July 14, 1987.
Mr. Fish was comptroller of Guild & Landis Insurance Agency of Dayton, OH. He graduated from Manchester College in 1925, and attended Bonebrake Seminary at Dayton, OH. He was founding President of Daytonview, OH Kiwanis Club. He was assistant Treasurer of Manchester College under the Otho Winger administration. He was a member of the Manchester Church of the Brethren.
Survivors include three daughters - Mrs. Wade (Anne) Theye of Fort Wayne, Mrs. Howard (Mary) Uhrig of South Bend, and Mrs. Richard (Phyllis) Dusky of New Baltimore, MI; 12 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. One daughter, Ruth Blickenstaff, three brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
Funeral service was held Sunday afternoon, Aug. 10, 1997 at Timbercrest Chapel with Pastor Susan Boyer officiating. Burial was in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.
Preferred memorials are to Timbercrest Retirement Community.
DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.

Marvin D. Knauff
Marvin D. Knauff, 84, a resident of Timbercrest Retirement Community, died Friday, Aug. 8, 1997 at Timbercrest Healthcare Center, North Manchester. He was born Feb. 1, 1913 in Miami County, IN to Charles R. and Ethel (Raber) Knauff.
He married Marjorie Brandt Nov. 7, 1936 in Muncie, IN and she died March 16, 1988. He was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church of North Manchester.
Marvin was a member of the Deming Lodge #88 F&AM, the Fort Wayne Scottish Rite, North Manchester Shrine, and the North Manchester Kiwanis Club where he received the Kiwanian of the Year award in 1985. He also received the Service above Self Rotarian Award in 1990. He was a longtime volunteer of REACH.
Survivors include three daughters - Mrs. William (Crystal) Stalnaker of Indianapolis, Mrs. Roger (Marcheta) Tate of North Manchester, and Mrs. Robert (Dianna) Messer of Cincinnati, OH; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Funeral service was held Sunday, August 10, 1997 at Grandstaff-Hentgen Bender Chapel with Rev. Jeffrey Hawkins officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery, Servia, IN.
Preferred memorials are to the Timbercrest Crestwood Project. Bender Chapel Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements.

Letha M. Miller
Letha M. Miller, 83, of 1936 E. Singer Rd., North Manchester, IN died Monday, August 11, 1997 at her residence. She was born April 10, 1914 at North Manchester to Marland and Ivy Hazel (Boyer) Green, both deceased.
She was a homemaker, married to Cecil H. Miller on Sept. 27, 1936, and he died Oct. 1, 1995.
She attended the Missionary Church of North Manchester.
Survivors include three sons - Wayne H., Dick L., and Paul E., all of North Manchester; two daughters - Mrs. Michael (Mary Lou) Reed of Akron, IN and Mrs. Paul (Ruth A.) Kline of North Manchester; two brothers - Verlin Green of Wynnwood, OK and Junior Green of Warsaw, IN; three sisters - Mrs. David (Lucille) Bowman of Pierceton, IN, Mrs. Floyd (Katherine) Walters of Burket, IN and Mrs. Kenneth (Dorothy) Culver of Tempe, AZ; one grandchild and one great-grandchild. Three sisters preceded her in death.
Funeral service was held today (Wednesday), August 13, 1997 at the DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary, with the Rev. Dan Binkley officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, North Manchester. Preferred memorials are to Wabash County Cancer Society.
DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.

James F. Perkins
James "Bo" Frank Perkins, 23, died Sunday, Aug. 10, 1997 as the result of an auto accident on old U.S. 24, Wabash, IN. He was born Dec. 14, 1973 in Wabash County to James L. and Alice (Meade) Perkins.
He was a 1993 graduate of Wabash High School.
He is survived by his parents, James and Alice Perkins of Wabash; sisters Kimberlyn Perkins of Wabash and Mrs. Scott (Khristina) Humphrey of Huntington; grandmother Nellie Meade of Wabash, and grandfather Frank Perkins of Van Lear, KY.
Funeral service was held today (Wednesday), August 13, at the Grandstaff-Hentgen Manchester Ave. Chapel, with Rev. Tim Prater officiating. Burial was in Falls Cemetery, Wabash.
Preferred memorials are to Wabash County Cancer Society.

Bryan L. Taylor
Bryan L. Taylor, 19, of 6816 West Yellow Creek Rd., Claypool, IN, died accidentally Saturday, Aug. 2, 1997 at George, Washington. He was born May 16, 1978 at Moses Lake, Washington to Jerrold and Diana (Hopper) Taylor. He was a senior at Tippecanoe Valley High School, Mentone, IN.
Survivors include his stepfather and mother, Ed and Diana Warren of Claypool; his father, Jerrold Taylor of Seattle, WA; two sisters - Amanda and Margaret Warren, at home in Claypool, IN; a brother, Aaron Taylor of Silver Lake; his maternal grandmother, Beverly Hopper of Winona Lake, IN; and paternal grandparents John and Miriam Sharpe of Moses Lake, Washington and Robert and Marge Warren of Claypool.
Friends may call Thursday, August 7, 1997 from 1 to 4 p.m. through the hour of services at the Beaver Dam United Methodist Church, located northeast of Akron, IN. Funeral will be held at the Beaver Dam United Methodist Church with Rev. Evelyn Cain officiating.
Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Yellow Creek Lake, IN (Claypool, IN). Preferred memorials are to the family of Bryan L. Taylor. Foster & Good Funeral Home of Akron, IN is in charge of arrangements.

Abner J. Parson
Abner J. Parson, 75, of 115 W. 26th St., Marion, IN, formerly of Wabash, IN, died Sunday, July 27, 1997 at the V.A. Hospital in Marion. He was born Nov. 2, 1921 at Wabash, IN to Abner and Estella (Roser) Parson.
Mr. Parson was a salesman, and was a World War II Army veteran.
He is survived by two brothers - Earl Parson of Lagro and Estel Parson of North Manchester; two brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
Graveside services were held at the V.A. Cemetery in Marion, IN on August 4, 1997. Eddingfield-DeLaughter Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.

Russell A. Kirby
Russell Arvel Kirby, 87, of 465 Miner St., Wabash, IN, died at his residence Tuesday, July 29, 1997. He was born Nov. 12, 1909 in Wabash County to George W. and Pearl (Alcoke) Kirby.
He married Lodema Speicher in Lincolnville, IN on April 8, 1945 and she died May 28, 1994. He retired from Container Corporation in Wabash in 1974 and was also a farmer. He was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church of Wabash.
Survivors include three daughters - Mrs. Ballard (Karen) Thompson, Colleen Gatzimos-Reed, and Coral Kirby, all of Wabash; five granddaughters and two great granddaughters. He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Funeral was held Friday, August 1, 1997 at the Grandstaff-Hentgen Main St. Chapel and burial was in Hopewell Cemetery, located at Lagro, IN.
Preferred memorials are to Asbury United Methodist Church. Arrangements were by Grandstaff-Hentgen Main Street Funeral Service, Wabash.

Virginia Kinzie
Virginia Kinzie, 80, of 225 S. Church St., Roann, IN, died Saturday, Aug. 23, 1997 at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis, IN. She was born Dec. 26,1916 in Hamilton County, IN to Blanch and Blanche (Jones) Johnson, both deceased.
She graduated from Roann High School in 1935, and had played in the Roann town band. She married Dale V. Kinzie in Roann, IN on Oct. 11, 1936. She was a member of the Roann United Methodist Church, sang in the church choir for 60 years, and was a member of the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Roann Matrons Club. She retired from General Tire & Rubber in Wabash in 1979 after 28 years.
Survivors include her husband, Dale, of Roann; a daughter, Linda R. Kinzie of Wellington, CO; a sister, Jeanette Newcomer of Trotwood, OH; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons and a sister.
Funeral service was held today, Wednesday, August 27, at the Grandstaff-Hentgen Roann Chapel with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery of Mexico, IN.
Preferred memorials are to Wabash County Cancer Society.

D. Franklin Zinsmeister
D. Franklin Zinsmeister, 88, a resident of Peabody Retirement Community, died Friday, Aug. 22, 1997 at Peabody Healthcare Center, North Manchester. He was born Sept. 20, 1908 at Bippus, IN to William Frederick and Emma (Strobel) Zinsmeister, both deceased.
He married Marietta Fitch at Niles, Michigan on March 11, 1934 and she died Nov. 24, 1992. He was a retired farmer and had also worked for McDonald Oil Co. in Huntington, IN. He was a member of the St. John's United Church of Christ in Bippus, and had lived in the North Manchester area the past 29 years, coming from Bippus, IN.
Survivors include two sons - George of Roann, IN and Charles of North Judson, IN; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister and a son.
Funeral service was held Monday, August 25, 1997 at the Grandstaff-Hentgen Bender Chapel with the Rev. Robert Schmeiser officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery, located at Servia, IN.
Preferred memorials are to St. John's United Church of Christ.
