Paula L. "MiMi" Brattain
Paula L. “MiMi” Brattain, age 60, of Richmond, died Wednesday (April 14, 2004) at the home of her daughter. She was born in Richmond on May 25, 1943 to Paul and Frieda Holliday Brattain and had lived here all of her life. She was a graduate of Richmond High School and she was a 29 year employee of Richmond State Hospital. She was a member of First English Lutheran Church.
Survivors include – Daughter – Sherry (husband Rick) Love of Richmond
Sons – Brian (wife Dawn) Coates of Richmond
Ryan Coates of Richmond
Brother – Paul Lowell Brattain
Grandchildren – Stephani Love, Jessica Love, Destiny Coates, Diara Coates, Braydon Coates and Bailey Coates
Nieces & Nephews
And her faithful companion – “Prince”
Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday (April 17, 2004) in First English Lutheran Chruch , 2727 National Road East. Pastor John Walker will officiate. Burial will be in Lutherania Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday (April 16, 2004) from 4:00 to 7:00 pm in Riggle – Waltermann Mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to The Commuinty Blood Center, 4821 Old National Road East, Richmond, IN 47374.

Henry R. Doherty
Henry R. Doherty, age 87, died April 16, 2004 at Reid Hospital. He was a life long resident of Wayne County, a life long member of Saint Mary Church, a highly decorated WW II veteran having received the Silver Star and Purple Heart. He was an American Legion member for 59 years, a 20th Combat Engineers association member, Knights of Columbus member, business owner and devoted family man.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years – Elizabeth
Five children - Michael, Patricia, Mary Ellen Doherty Perez, Henry T. and Therese Ann Doherty Miller
13 Grandchildren
One sister – Ruth Moore

A prayer service will be held at 9:30 am on Tuesday (April 20, 2004) in Riggle-Waltermann Mortuary followed by Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Saint Mary Church. Burial will be in Saint Mary Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday (April 19, 2004) from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Saint Mary Church, % 240 South 6th Street, Richmond, Indiana 47374.

Bernard M. "Barney" Kinder
Bernard M. “Barney” Kinder, age 89. of Richmond, died Tuesday evening (April 20, 2004) at Reid Hospital. He was born on December 24, 1914 in Hamilton County, Indiana to Clyde and Hazel Marshall Kinder and had lived in this area since 1935. He was a 1931 graduate of Windfall High School and a 1935 graduate of Ball State Teachers College. He retired in 1976 from Richmond Community Schools after 41 years as a teacher and administrator. He had taught at Riley and Highland Schools and served as principal at Highland and Pleasant View Schools. He was a 60 year member of First Christian Church where he was also a member of the Golden Band Sunday School Class. He was a singer with the Barber Shop Chorus for 25 years and had been and active volunteer for Meals on Wheels. He had participated in the Teacher’s Bowling League and was an avid fisherman where for many years he annually camped and fished in Canada. After retirement, he began golfing and was a regular participant in the Monday Senior Golf League. He also sang with a musical group that entertained at area nursing homes.
Survivors include: Wife – Marjorie Kinder to whom he was married 65 years
Daughters – Sherrie (husband Mike) Lofton of Harwood, Maryland
Judy (husband Mel) Hartman of Centerville, Indiana
Son – Philip (wife Nancy) Kinder of Connersville, Indiana

Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday (April 24, 2004) in Riggle-Waltermann Mortuary. Rev. Jim Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Friends may call on Friday (April 23, 2004) from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church, 100 S. 10th Street, Richmond, IN 47374 or to Meals on Wheels, 1401 Chester Blvd. Richmond, IN 47374 or to a favorite charity.

Martha B. Bradshaw
Martha B. Bradshaw, age 97, of Richmond, died Thursday (May 6, 2004) at Reid Hospital. She was born in Wayne County on September 28, 1906 to George and Anna Hursting Selm and had lived in this area all of her life. She was a life-long member of Saint Andrew Church where she was a charter member of the former Saint Anne’s Altar Society. She was a homemaker and had worked as a teacher’s aid. She had volunteered as a Gold Lady at Richmond State Hospital and she was an active member of the Richmond Art Club. She taught art classers for many years in this area. Her husband, Thomas Bradshaw, died on August 4, 1990.

Hem Hin, age 67, of Richmond, died Monday (May 10, 2004) at Golden Rule-Beverly Healthcare. She was born in Cambodia on June 2, 1936 and had lived in this area for the past 23 years. She had worked at Lincoln Manor in Connersville.

Helen L. Johnson
Helen L. Johnson, age 87, of Richmond, died Friday (May 14, 2004) at Golden Rule-Beverly Healthcare. She was born in Marion, Indiana on November 27, 1916 to Donald and Sarah First Rohrer and had lived here most of her life. She was a homemaker and had worked at the former Voyles News Agency. She was a member of First Christian Church. Her husband, William C. Johnson, whom she married July 2, 1935, died in 1974.
Survivors include – Daughter and son-in-law - Barbara and Dan Myers of Richmond
Son and daughter-in-law – Bill and Ginny Johnson of Goldsboro, North Carolina
Granddaughters – Debra (Dan) Norris of Richmond

Rosemary A. "Rosie" Jack
Rosemary A. “Rosie” Jack, age 61, of Richmond, died Friday (May 21, 2004) at Saint Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis. She was born on March 18, 1943 to Harold and Nellie Bane Wilkinson and had lived in this area most of her life. She was employed by Wal-Mart and was a member of Living Word Christian Fellowship.
Survivors include – Husband – James “Jay” Jack (to whom she was married 30 years)
Son – Steven Schumacher of Fort Myers, Florida
Step-daughter – Jody Jack of Greenfield, Indiana
Parents – Harold and Nellie Wilkinson of Richmond
Sister – Pat Furnniss of Bonita Springs, Florida

Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday (May 24, 2004) at the Living Word Christian Fellowship, 1990 West Main Street, Richmond. Rev. Dr. M. Steven Ross will officiate. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday (May 23, 2004) from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Riggle – Waltermann Mortuary and on Monday (May 24, 2004) from1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the church.
