Helen L. Rodenberg
Helen L. Rodenberg, age 92, of Richmond, died Saturday (June 26, 2004) at Oakridge Rehab and Specialty Care. She was born in Wayne County on September 4, 1911 to Laurence M. and Anna Bertram Turner and had lived here all of her life. She was a graduate of Morton High School and she was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. She was a retired employee of A & P Grocery . She was an avid sewer and found great joy in making clothes for her family and sewing for others. Her husband, Verlin “Pinky” Rodenberg, died in 1994.
Survivors include – Son – Robert (wife Janice) Rodenberg of Richmond
Daughter-in-law – Juanita Rodenberg of Avondale, Arizona
Brothers – Dudley Turner of Richmond
Forrest Turner of Richmond
5 Granddaughters – Lesa Townsend of Warrendon, Virginia
Lori Turner of Richmond
Dawn Brobeca of Mesa, Arizona
Darla Healey of Avondale, Arizona

A son, Richard Rodenberg, died in 2003. Two sisters, Thelma Rodenberg and Margaret Flaugher, and a brother, Ralph Turner are also deceased
Services will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday (June 30, 2004) in Riggle – Waltermann Mortuary. Pastor Herb Berry will officiate. Entombment will be in Earlham Mausoleum. Friends may call on Tuesday (June 29, 2004) from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s favorite charity.

Joe Capps
Joe Capps, age 70, of Richmond, went to be with his Lord on Saturday (July 31, 2004) at Golden Rule – Beverly Healthcare. He was born April 20, 1934 in St. Charles, Virginia to Walter and Emily Cinnamon Capps and had lived in this area since 1954. He had worked for Warfield Oil Company and was self-employed in the heating and air-conditioning business before retiring in 1987. He was a US Air Force veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include – Wife – Norma Mattix-Capps (whom he married January 17, 1967)
Sons – Wilbur E. “Bo” Mattix (wife Jeannie) of Richmond
Jeffrey A. Capps (wife Tammy) of Fountain City
Rick Capps of Kentucky

In addition to his parents, three brothers, Edward, James & Earl Capps, are also deceased.
Services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday (August 4, 2004) in Riggle – Waltermann Mortuary. Pastor Edwin Myers and Pastor Rob Muldoon will officiate. Burial will be in Goshen Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday (August 3, 2004) from 5:00pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

Anthony Marzollini
Anthony Marzollini, age 82, of Richmond, died Sunday morning (August 1, 2004) at Reid Hospital. He was born in Greenfield, Indiana on March 22, 1922 to Ernest and Angela Tranfa Marzollini and had lived in this area for the past 72 years. He was a 1941 graduate of Richmond High School and had worked as a bookkeeper for Miller Brothers Hardware, Hoffco and Mosey Manufacturing.
Survivors include – Sisters – Pauline Marzollini of Indianapolis
Mary Maddox of Richmond
Nanina Henemyre of New Westville, Ohio
Brother – Joe F. Marzollini of Miami, Florida

A prayer service will be held at 1:30 pm on Wednesday (August 4, 2004) in Riggle – Waltermann Mortuary followed by Liturgy of Christian Burial at 2:00 pm in Saint Andrew Church. Burial will be in Saint Mary Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday (August 3, 2004) from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Reid Hospital Foundation for the Cardiac Rehabilitation Unit or to Seton Catholic High School.

Edna M. Ketchum
Edna M. Ketchum, age 74, of Richmond, died Monday morning (August 9, 2004) at Reid Hospital. She was born in Rushville, Indiana on November 9, 1929 to Wooden Curtis and Stella Perry Ketchum and had lived in this area most of her life. She had worked at Frisch’s Restaurant and she was a member of the Moose Lodge. Her husband, Robert Ponder, died in 2003.
Survivors include – Daughters – Geneva Guess of Richmond
Alzora Ketchum of Richmond
Diana Spurlock of Lockbourn, Ohio
Son – Lonnie Winchester of Tell City, Indiana
Brother – John Ketchum of Rushville, Indiana

Services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday (August 12, 2004) in Riggle – Waltermann Mortuary. Rev. Paul Mingus will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Brookville, Indiana. Friends may call on Wednesday (August 11, 2004) from 5 – 8 pm at the funeral home.

Maxine J. Kutter
Maxine J. Kutter, age 80, of Richmond, died Tuesday morning (August 10, 2004) at Reid Hospital. She was born in Richmond on January 24, 1924 to Anthony and Hazel Clark Klemann and had lived here all of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of Holy Family Church. Her husband, Clement L. “Clem” Kutter died on April 21, 2000. Her step-mother, Helen Smith Klemann is also deceased.
Survivors include – Sons – Terry (wife Belinda) Kutter of Dayton, Ohio
Ron (wife Patricia) Kutter of Eaton, Ohio
Greg (wife Connie) Kutter of Bellbrook, Ohio
Daughter – Annette (husband Mike) Wright of Economy, Indiana

Jerry R. Geier
Jerry R. Geier, age 84, of Richmond, died Monday (August 16, 2004) at Golden Rule - Beverly Healthcare. He was born in Richmond on February 22, 1920 to Charles and Augusta Buche Geier and had lived here all of his life. He was a graduate of Morton High School and retired in 1987 as Vice President of Harrington Hoch Insurance where he had worked for 35 years. He was active in local politics and was elected and served as a Democratic city councilman from 1968 to 1975 under Mayor Byron Klute. He also served as president of the council. He was Democrat city chairman for Mayor Frank Waltermann's second campaign in 1987 and he served as chairman of the Richmond Sanitary District Board from 1984-1991. He was a member of Holy Family Church and was a past president of the Westside Splash Club. He was an Army Air Force veteran of World War II. He married his sweetheart, Roselyn Neff Geier on November 6, 1948 and was by her side on November 7, 2002 when she left this world.

Burial will be in Saint Andrew Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday (August 19, 2004) from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 9135 N. Meridian St. Ste B-4, Indianapolis, IN 46209-7109. The family would also life to give a grateful thank you to the Golden Rule Alzheimer’s Unit for their special care.

Fred E. Brinker
Fred E. Brinker, age 89, of Richmond, died Wednesday morning (August 18, 2004) at Oakridge Rehab-Beverly Healthcare. He was born in Richmond on August 25, 1914 to Mathias “Matt” and Irene Issen Brinker and had lived here all of his life. He had owned and operated Brinker’s Restaurant and retired as a salesman for Zukerberg Uniform and Saftey Equipment. He was a member of Saint Andrew Church and was a US Army veteran of World War II. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus and the Knights of Saint John and he was a member of the Rising Sun American Legion.
Survivors include – Wife – Betty Brinker (to whom he was married 58 years)
Daughter – Deborah Heath of Richmond
Grandchildren – Kevin Heath of Aberdeen, Ohio
Shy Spencer of Aberdeen, Ohio

Four brothers, James, John, Paul, Robert Brinker and a sister, Virginia Stolle, are also deceased.
Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday (August 21, 2004) in Saint Andrew Church. Burial will be in Lutherania Cemetery where military graveside services will be conducted by the Wayne County Veterans Council. Friends may call on Saturday (August 21, 2004) from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1401 Chester Blvd., Richmond, IN 47374. Arrangements are being handled by Riggle – Waltermann Mortuary.
