Manford Smith, Sr.
Manford Smith, Sr., age 79, formerly of Richmond, died Friday evening (December 19, 2003) at Heartland of Greenville in Greenville, Ohio. He was born on October 5, 1924 to William D and Pearl Sims Smith and had lived in this area most of his life before moving to Greenville in 1997.
He had worked in radio and television repair and in real estate sales and retired as a real estate appraiser. He was an Army Air Corp veteran of World War II. His wife, Thelma Smith, died in 1990.
Survivors include – Son – Manford “Micky” Smith, Jr. (and his wife Marian) of Greenville, Ohio

A son, James Warren Smith, died in1996. Two brothers, David and James A. Smith, are also deceased.
Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday (December 23, 2003) in Riggle – Waltermann Mortuary. Anthony White will officiate. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday (December 23, 2003) from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the funeral home.

Richard Barnes
Richard Barnes, age 64, formerly of Richmond, died Monday (December 29, 2003) at his residence in Carrollton, Indiana. He was born in Richmond on March 15, 1939 to James C. and Dovie Stanley Boswell and had lived in this area many years. He had owned and operated his own construction company and he was a member of the Masonic Lodge and of the Shrine.
Survivors include his wife – Dovie to whom he was married 40 years on June 26th 2003

Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday (January 2, 2004) in Riggle – Waltermann Mortuary. Pastor Danny Douglas of Crossroads Church (New Castle) will officiate. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery. Friends may call after 2:00 pm on Wednesday (December 31, 2003) or anytime Thursday (January 1, 2004) or on Friday (January 2, 2004) prior to the service.

Mary K. Noelker Freeman
Mary K. Noelker Freeman, age 55, formerly of Richmond, died Wednesday, Decmeber 17, 2003, in Dover, Arkansas. She was born in Richmond on July 13, 1948 to Bernard and Mary W. Griffith Noelker.
Survivors include – Husband – Albert Freeman
Daughters – Lorrie Olivarez of Phoenix, Arizona
Tresenia Griffin of Danville, California.
Step-son – Jason Freeman of Beaverton, Oregon
Step-daughter – Melissa Freeman of Barstow, California
Brothers – Jim Noelker of Cincinnati, Ohio
Joe Noelker of Richmond
Jerry Noelker of Williamsburg, Indiana
Larry Noelker of Mira Loma, California
Sisters – Sally Carr of Peoria, Illinois.
Judy Piehe of Adelanto, California
Sharon Pilkington of Dover, Arkansas
11 Grandchildren and Step-Grandchildren
Services were held in Dover, Arkansas.

Elfrieda R. North
Elfrieda R. North, age 83, formerly of Richmond, died Tuesday (December 30, 2003) at Rest Haven Nursing Home in Greenville, Ohio. She was born in Richmond on September 6, 1920 to Walter B. and Maude Bilberback North and had lived in this area all of her life before moving to Greenville in 2000. She had worked for Knollenberg’s Department Store and had worked 8 !/2 years for Elder Beerman. She was a member of Faith-Trinity United Methodist Church.
Survivors include 7 Nieces & Nephews
Great Nieces & Nephews
Three sisters, Francis Henisa, Viola Cash, Minnie Manlove and a brother, Harold North, are also deceased.
Services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday (January 3, 2004) in Riggle – Waltermann Mortuary. John Ingermann will officiate. Entombment will be in Earlham Mausoleum. Friends may call on Friday (January 2, 2003) from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

Deloris E. Wood
Deloris E. Wood, age 73, of Richmond, died Saturday morning (January 3, 2004) at Golden Rule – Beverly Healthcare. She was born in Terre Haute, Indiana on March 8, 1930 to Charles J. and Helen Cristine Smittkamp and had lived in this area since 1948. She was a retired 24 year employee of Rosa’s Office Plus and was a member of the First Church of God.
Survivors include – Husband – Donald E. Wood (whom she married July 15, 1950)
Sons – David Wood of Indianapolis
Jeffrey Wood of Monrovia California
Daughter – Donna Jo Ward of Boston, Indiana
Sister – Sharon Fanus of Sun Lake, Arizona
2 Nieces and 1 Nephew
A brother, Charles A. Smittkamp is also deceased.
Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday (January 6, 2004) in Riggle – Waltermann Mortuary. Rev. Paul Register will officiate. Entombment will be in Earlham Mausoleum. Friends may call on Monday (January 5, 2004) from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s favorite charity.

Evelyn Joyce Jefferies
Evelyn Joyce Jefferies, age 75, of Richmond, died Friday morning (January 9, 2004) at Oakridge Nursing and Rehab Center. She was born in Richmond on January 31, 1928 to Harry and Francis Fulton Robinson and had lived here all of her life. She was a 1946 graduate of Richmond High School and was a retired employee of General Telephone Company. Her husband, Robert Jefferies, died May 1, 1996.
Survivors include: Daughter – Teri (husband Jerry) Dunham of Pinnelas Park, Florida
Son – Mark (wife Linda) Griffy of Richmond
2 Grandsons – Jerry Lee Dunham
Christopher (wife Becky) Griffy
2 Great Granddaughters

a sister, Peggy Dooley, and two brothers, James and Neal Robinson, and a great great grandson are also deceased.
Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday (January 11, 2003) in Riggle – Waltermann Mortuary. Manfred Schreyer will officiate. Burial will be in Greens Fork South Cemetery. Friends may call from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm on Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Heifer Project International, PO Box 8058 Little Rock, Arkansas 72203, or to the Spiritrestoration Ministry % 7364 Paint Creek-Four Mile Road, Camden, Ohio 45311

Glenn T. Davis
Glenn T. Davis, age 75, of Richmond, died Monday evening (January 12, 2004) at Oakridge Rehab-Beverly Healthcare. He was born in Artemus, Kentucky on April 7, 1928 to Kelly and Lavetta Collins Davis and had lived in this area since 1948. He was a retired employee of JM Hutton Company
Survivors include – Wife – Barbara Oler Davis to whom he was married 55 years.
Son – Bruce A. Davis of Richmond
Brother – William Davis of Amelia, Ohio
Sisters – Nora Jones of Florida
Madeline Thomas of Cincinnati, Ohio
