James L. Cline
1930-2004

Bonner Springs

Jim Cline, 74, Bonner Springs, died Friday, Dec. 3, 2004, at Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan. Funeral Services were Wednesday at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home; burial was in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kansas City, Kan. Visitation was Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Bible Baptist Church of Bonner Springs in care of the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home, 214 Oak St. Bonner Springs KS. 66012. (913) 422-4074

Mr. Cline was born Aug. 3, 1930, in Bonner Springs and was a lifelong area resident. He had worked at Sunshine Biscuit Company in Kansas City, Kan., for 32 years, retiring in 1988. He also worked at the Lone Star Cement Plant in Bonner Springs. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Frank and Chuck Cline.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Patty Cline, of the home; two sons, Chuck L. Cline, of the home; and Donald L. Cline and wife, Carla, of Bonner Springs; four daughters, Susan Oakley of Bonner Springs; Marsha Kienzle and husband, Tim, Bonner Springs; Janet Knight and husband, John, Edwardsville; and Carol Perdue and husband, Brad, Bonner Springs; 19 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Kenneth Cline, Kansas City, Kan.; and four sisters, Lucille Caldwell, Bonner Springs; Gerry Hart, Kansas City, Mo.; Helen Lee, Basehor; and Marion Will, Dallas, Texas.

Stanley "Dave" Witt
1941-2004

Bonner Springs

Stanley "Dave" Witt, 62, Bonner Springs, died Nov. 23, 2004, after battling prostate cancer for nearly two years. Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 27, at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., Kansas City, Kan. Private burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation was Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to the West Haven Baptist Building Fund, P.O. Box 318, Tonganoxie KS 66086.

Mr. Witt was born Dec. 25, 1941, in Montreal, Mo., the son of Richard and Altha Witt. His family moved to the Kansas City area when he was a toddler. He attended Wyandotte High School. After 12 years of managing McCall's service station at 18th and Quindaro, he opened Dave's Apco at 47th and State and then started Dave's Construction Asphalt Paving in 1979, which his family continues to operate.

He will always be remembered for his love of life and happy, helpful attitude. He was an extremely good family man who loved his wife, babies and grandbabies dearly.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Barbara Witt; a daughter, Kelly Braathen (Dale); two sons, Curtis Witt (Alicia); and Shannon Witt (Jereline); five grandchildren, Kyle and Klayton Braathen, Katelynn and Shelby Witt and Tyler Witt; two brothers and two sisters.

Michael C. Pitts
1962-2004

Tonganoxie

Michael C. Pitts, 42, Tonganoxie, died Thursday, Nov. 25, 2004, at Providence Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan.

Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 29, at Sisco Funeral Home, Pea Ridge, Ark. The family received friends Saturday, Nov. 27, at Quisenberry Funeral Home, Tonganoxie. Burial will be in Ruddick Cemetery, Garfield, Ark.

Mr. Pitts was born July 6, 1962, in Kansas City, Kan., the son of Benny C. and Helen E. (Ruddick) Pitts. He was a 1980 graduate of Tonganoxie High School and a member of the Church of Christ. He was a construction worker and a heavy equipment operator.

Survivors include his mother, Helen E. Pitts, Tonganoxie; a son, Benjamin Michael Pitts, Abilene; a brother, Stephen J. and wife, Nancy J. Pitts, and a niece, Shelby Dawn Pitts, all of Tonganoxie; and his fiancé, Marlaina Gooden, Tonganoxie.

Vera M. Nolan
1928-2004

Leavenworth

Vera M. Nolan, 76, Leavenworth, died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2004, at Providence Medical Center.

She was born the daughter of Robert Paul and Cecil Belle (Ward) Eagle on Jan. 1, 1928, in Leavenworth.

She married Frank Nolan on Aug. 23, 1949, in Platte City, Mo. He died Oct. 24, 1994.

Mrs. Nolan worked at the Glove Factory in Leavenworth and then at Nat-Nast Shirt Factory in Bonner Springs.

She is survived by two sons Frank Nolan, McLouth; and David Nolan, Leavenworth; two brothers Paul Eagle, Leavenworth; and George Eagle, Effingham; and three sisters, Mildred Guinn, Olathe; Gertie Sellens, Quenemo; and Alice Snell, McLouth.

Her husband, Frank, parents and a brother, Karl Eagle, preceded her in death.

The family received friends Monday, Nov. 29, followed by a service at the Barnett-Larkin-Brown Funeral Home, Leavenworth. Burial followed at Sunset Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
