Adeline Pauls Schmidt
INMAN - Adeline Pauls Schmidt, 84, died Dec. 7, 2001, at her home, Inman. She was born May 3, 1917, in McPherson County, the daughter of Jacob C. and Katherine Siemens Wiens. A lifetime resident of McPherson County, she was a housekeeper. She be-longed to Hoffnungsau Mennonite Church, the Happy Hour Sewing Circle, and was a past member of the EHU. On May 7, 1939, she married Leonard Pauls at Hoffnungsau Mennonite Church. He died Dec. 19, 1992. On Oct. 12, 1996, she married Wilbur Schmidt at the church. He survives. Other survivors include: two sons, Leon and Charles Pauls, both of McPherson; a daughter, Kathryn Penner, North Newton; two stepdaughters, Joyce Woods, Austin, Texas, and Jolene R. Schmidt, Overland Park; six grandchildren; a stepgrandchild; and a great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by two daughters, infant Sharon Kay Wiens and Joyce Morgan; and two brothers, Elmer and Milton Wiens. Graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Hoffnungsau died Dec. 9, 2001, at Andover.

Janet Kaye Beckwith
LARNED - Janet Kaye Beckwith, 47, died Dec. 7, 2001, at her home in Larned. She was born Nov. 19, 1954, at Pineville, La., the daughter of Jerry W. and Lois R. Scott Creel. A Larned resident since 1970, moving from Sawyer, she was a housewife and newspaper inserter for the Tiller and Toiler. She belonged to Grace Lutheran Church, and Modern Homemakers FCE, both at Larned. On Aug. 17, 1974, she married Kim M. Beckwith at Larned. He survives. Other survivors include: a son, Aaron Michael, Larned; a daughter, Jennifer Lynn Nelson, Wrightsville, Pa.; her parents; two brothers, Jeffery Creel, Elk City, Okla., and Gregory Creel, Sheridan, Wyo.; a sister, Pamela Sue Cannon, Vernal, Utah; and numerous nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by a nephew. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Beckwith Mortuary Chapel, Larned, with the Pastor John Drosendahl presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today Monday and until service time Tuesday, all at the mortuary. Burial will be in Larned died Dec. 8, 2001, at Cloud County Health Center, Concordia. He was the brother of Clemon "Pat" Bergmeier, Hutchinson. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, at United Methodist Church, Longford. Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home, Clay Center, is in charge of arrangements.

Ruby M. Sharp
Ruby M. Sharp, 92, died Dec. 8, 2001, at Hutchinson Hospital, Hutchinson. She was born Aug. 11, 1909, at Little Hope, Texas, the daughter of Columbus W. and Zula Warren Corbitt. A resident of Hutchinson since 1944, formerly of Dalhart, Texas, she was a homemaker. She belonged to First Baptist Church, Hutchinson. On Nov. 1, 1930, she married Harry L. Sharp at Clayton, N.M. He died March 9, 1978. Survivors include: two sons, Ray, Arlington, Texas, and Roy Sharp, Salt Lake City; a daughter, Mary Ann King, Hutchinson; four brothers, Norman, Warrior, Ala., Miriam, Moody, Texas, Bobbie Lee, Waco, Texas, and Carmac, Temple, Texas; a sister, Edith Ardel, Moody, Texas; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Arthur and V.T. Corbitt; and a sister, Bonnie Lou. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and Monday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Memorials may be sent to First Baptist Church, Hutchinson, in care of the mortuary.

Edith Harvey
DODGE CITY - Edith Harvey, 92, died Dec. 7, 2001, at Western Plains Regional Medical Center, Dodge City. She was born March 8, 1909, in Rush County, the daughter of Charles and Hulda Kiefer Schraeder. A longtime resident of Dodge City, she was a homemaker and owned and operated the Coffee Cup Cafe, Dodge City, with her husband. She attended schools at Larned. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and Senior Friends, both at Dodge City. On Aug. 17, 1927, she married Lester P. "Red" Harvey at Kinsley. He died Dec. 15, 1991. Survivors include: two sons, Ronnie, Tulsa, Okla., and Vance, Dodge City; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City, with the Rev. Dick Robbins presiding. Friends may visit from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greencrest died Dec. 8, 2001, at Lakewood Heights, Wichita.

GREAT BEND - Mae Suedekum, 91, died Dec. 7, 2001, at her Great Bend residence. She was born Feb. 10, 1910, in Pulaski County, Ky., the daughter of Caleb and Anna Howsen Marcum. A resident of Great Bend since 1982, formerly of Thornton, Colo., she was a homemaker. She belonged to Central Baptist Church, Great Bend. On March 4, 1932, she married Harve Suedekum at Kingman. He died Nov. 30, 1985. Survivors include: two sons, Melvin, Tempe, Ariz., and Alvin, Gillette, Wyo.; a daughter, Jean Kimber, Great Bend; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a brother, Theron Marcum; and a sister, Mabel Cinquangrana. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Bryant-Christians Funeral Home, Great Bend, with the Rev. Dr. Gordon E. Rhodes presiding. Friends may visit from 1 to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to service time Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Great Bend died Dec. 4, 2001. She was the sister of Raymond Robinson, Burrton, and Gene Worthey, Spearville.
