Marshall C. Bennett, 90, of Surprise, Ariz., oil field pumper, died March 22, 2001.

Amelia A. “Molly” Schulte, 86, of Hays, sister of Lioba Keller of Park City, died Feb. 27, 2002. She was a homemaker and former Victoria resident. Vigil and rosary were March 3 at Cline’s Mortuary. Service was March 4 at St. Fidelis Catholic Church, all of Victoria.

Charles “Chalk” Costlow, 71, of Benton, father of Rex Costlow of Park City, died Feb. 24, 2002. He was a retired Coleman Company maintenance welder. Service was Feb. 28 at Downing & Lahey Mortuary East, Wichita.

Curtis Wayne Hensley, 62, of Wichita, father of Kathy Hultman of Valley Center, died March 1, 2002. He was a construction worker. Private service was held.

Dorothy McBroom

Dorothy McBroom, 72, of Wichita, grandmother of Tony and Julie Schaar and great-grandmother of Nathan Schaar, Sarah Schaar and Laura Schaar, all of Valley Center, died Feb. 27, 2002. She was a retired Spears Restaurant employee. Service was March 2 at Resthaven Mortuary.

Glenn Stearman

Glenn Arthur Stearman, 94, of Austin, Texas, formerly of Valley Center, died March 3, 2002. He was the former owner and president of Stearman Aircraft Products Corporation of Valley Center. Service is at 1 p.m. Saturday at University United Methodist Church, Wichita. Burial will be at White Chapel Memorial cemetery, Wichita.

James Connolly

James Y. Connolly, 89, of Wichita, formerly of Valley Center, died March 3, 2002. He was a retired manufacturing supervisor for Pratt & Lambert Aircraft. Graveside service is at 1 p.m. today (Thursday) at White Chapel Memorial Gardens.

Joyce Blickenstaff

Joyce E. Blickenstaff, 69, of Wichita, mother of Timothy Blickenstaff of Park City, died March 2, 2002. She was a homemaker. Private service.

Katherine Cantrell

Katherine A. Heuett Cantrell, 87, of Wichita, great-grandmother of Dustyne Forister-Merriman of Valley Center, died March 2, 2002. She was a retired Heuett & Son Trucking co-owner, City of Wichita accounting clerk and Gateway Sporting Goods Gym Store bookkeeper. Service was March 6 at Old Mission Mortuary.

Laura Delaney

Laura A. Delaney, 61, of Wichita, mother of Michael Delaney of Valley Center, died March 2, 2002. Rosary was March 4 and service was March 5, both at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.

Luther Grantz

Luther J. Grantz, 83, of Wichita, father of Ronald Grantz of Valley Center, died March 1, 2002. He was a retired Otasco automotive salesman. Service was March 5 at Trinity Baptist Church.

Mildred Babb

Mildred R. Robbins Babb, 84, of Valley Center, homemaker, died March 1, 2002. Service was March 3 at Hillside Funeral Home East, Wichita.

Rodney Maynard

Rodney Maynard, 78, of Winfield, father of Misty Maynard of Kechi, died Feb. 27, 2002. He was a retired electronic engineer. A memorial service is pending.

Ross H. Carter, 27, of Wellington, brother of Wilbur Carter of Valley Center, died Feb. 26, 2002. He was an Al Wellman Body and Automotive Repair repairman. Service was March 1 at Temple Baptist Church, Wichita. Graveside service was March 1 at Prairie Lawn cemetery, Wellington.

William C. “Bill” Mierau, 82, of Wichita, father and father-in-law of Connie and Ed Johnson of rural Valley Center, died March 1, 2002. He was the retired owner of W.C. Mierau Construction Company. Services were March 4 at First Presbyterian Church, Wichita. Burial was at Halstead cemetery.

Gary B. Page, 57, of Solomon, brother of Bill Page of Valley Center, died Feb. 20, 2002. He was the owner and operator of Page Trucking Co. Service was Feb. 24 at Solomon United Methodist Church.

Howard McMillan Jr.

Howard L. “Mac” McMillan Jr., 67, of rural Peck, formerly of Valley Center and Wichita, died Feb. 23, 2002. Service was Feb. 26 at Webb Mortuary Chapel in Clearwater with Pastor Mike McAbee of First Assembly of God of Mulvane officiating. Rick Unruh was an honorary spokesman. Burial was in Waco cemetery near Waco.

Arlo W. Nordstedt, 81, of Sedgwick, brother of Rosetta Hutchens of Valley Center, died Aug. 31, 2001. He was a farmer. Service was Sept. 4 at Pleasant Valley Church, Bentley.

Dorothy Crawford

Dorothy I. Crawford, 75, formerly of Valley Center, retired Shepler’s Western Wear Shops alteration seamstress, died Aug. 28, 2001. Service was Aug. 31 at Indian Hills Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Christopher Manbeck officiating.
