Daniel R. “Dan” Ackerman, 78, of Wichita, father and father-in-law of Jeannie and Gordon Reddoch of Valley Center, died Oct. 28, 2002. He was the former owner of Valley Sharpening and a former Valley Center resident. Service is at 2 p.m. today (Thursday) at Webb Mortuary, Clearwater.

Doris Miller, 78, of Wichita, mother of Chris Miller of Valley Center, died Oct. 25, 2002. She was a retired U.S.D. 259 paraprofessional. Memorial service was Oct. 30 at Central Community Church.

Dr. Douglas Wayne Curry, 56, of Valley Center, family practice medical doctor, died Oct. 28, 2002. Visitation is from 5 to 8 tonight (Thursday) at Baker Funeral Home Chapel. Service is at 10 a.m. Friday at Riverlawn Christian Church, 4243 N. Meridian, Wichita. Burial will be at Hillside cemetery, Sedgwick.

Edna Bixler

Edna O. “Granny” Bixler, 100, of Wichita, grandmother of Philip and Sharon May and great-grandmother of Lisa Baxter and Lana Clark, all of Park City, died Oct. 17, 2002. She was a homemaker. Service was Oct. 22 at Kaufman Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Rawson officiating. Burial was at Halstead cemetery.

James Koontz Sr.

James Ridgeway Koontz Sr., 82, of Wichita, great-grandfather of Kaleb Koontz-Clubb of Park City, did Oct. 28, 2002. He was a retired Litwin Corporation senior project engineer. Service was Oct. 30 at Gospel Assembly Church.

Juanita Roundtree, 59, of Wichita, wife of Ulase Hall of Park City, died Oct. 26, 2002. She was disabled. Service is pending.
