Ethel A. Fisher, 92, of Borger, Texas, formerly of Eureka, died on Sunday November 25, 2001, in Crown of Texas Hospice in Amarillo, Texas.

She was born on March 25, 1909.

She is survived by a son George Fisher of Borger, Texas, three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

EYTHEL KEMMERLY
Eythel Louise Kemmerly, 92, of Wheat State Manor in Whitewater died Monday, December 3, 2001, at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado.

She was born on November 29, 1909, in Woodward County, Okla., the daughter of Lewis G. and Nellie C. (Burkett) Throckmorton.

She is survived by three sons Richard Kemmerly of Benton; Jack Kemmerly of Yuba City, Calif., and Dan Kemmerly of Alamosa, Colo.; daughter Judy Parks of Eureka; 16 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 13 step-great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren and four step-great-great-grandchildren.

BESSIE NICHOLS
Bessie Malinda Nichols, 82, of Derby, formerly of Wichita, died on Sunday, December 2, 2001, at Via Christi Medical Center-St. Francis Campus in Wichita.

She was born April 27, 1919, in Cole County, Mo., the daughter of Henry and Lucinda (Cox) Bates.

She is survived by a son, Floyd Nichols of Fall River; and a, daughter Marilyn Higgins-Keen of Hattiesburg, Miss.; brother Henry Bates, Jr. of Topeka; sisters Minnie Bates of Columbia, Mo., Myrtle Cahill of Lincoln, Neb., Catherine Graby of Independence, Mo; three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

LOIS SHELL
Lois Marie Shell, 77, of Eureka, died on Friday, November 30, 2001, at the Holiday Resort Nursing Center in Emporia.

She was born December 11, 1923, at Severy, the daughter of Williams Dickens and Lena Prudence (Bohon) Wingrave.

She is survived by a son Larry Shell of Emporia; daughter Diane Alverson of Jenks, Okla.; three brothers Harlan Wingrave, Melvin Wingrave and Bill Wingrave all of Severy, eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

CLARENCE "JACK" LAHAR

Clarence R. (Jack) Lahar, 79, of Eureka, died on Tuesday, May 14, 2002, at the Medicalodge in Eureka.

He was born on March 26, 1923, in Fredonia, the son of James C. and Grace (Philamalee) Lahar.

He is survived by son Raymond Lahar of Great Bend; daughter Almeta Beck of Eureka; brothers James Lahar of Cherryvale and Bill Lahar of Wichita; sister Retta McKenna of Eureka; four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

RICHARD MILLER
Richard Ross "Dick" Miller, 77, of Neal, died Monday, May 13, 2002, at his residence in Neal.

He was born March 25, 1925, at Neal, the son of Orr Daniel "Buster" Miller and Gwendolyn D. (Hamilton) Miller.

He is survived by four sons, Dennis of Omaha, Neb., Roy Daniel of Los Angeles, Calif., DeWayne of Neal and Douglas R. of Iola; one daughter, Debbie Reimer of South Hutchinson; one brother, Ernest Miller of Shawnee Mission; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

GEORGE RATCLIFF
George W. Ratcliff, 82, of Eureka, formerly of Wichita and Douglass, died Monday, May 13, 2002, at his home.

He was born February 6, 1920, in Quanah, Texas, the son of George Washington and Lydia Elenore (Meader) Ratcliff.

He is survived by his wife, of the Eureka; sons Roy Ratcliff of Madison, Wis., and Roger Ratcliff of Eureka; daughter Norma Christine Dowler of Tuscon, Ariz.; sisters Cora Hall of Matador, Texas, and Dora Farror of Denton, Texas; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

WILLIAM BUCKLE

William Lawrence Buckle, 56, of Mt. Dora, Fla., formerly of Hamilton, died Thursday, March 27, 2003.

He was born in Emporia on May 3, 1946, the son of Edward E. and Myrtle A. (Jennings/Kirkwood) Buckle.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia, of the home; sons Rodney Vozar of Citronelle, Ala., and Wayne Solley of Biloxi, Miss.; stepsons, Danny Vasquez and Mauricio Vasquez, both of Mt. Dora, Fla.; step daughter Monica Vasquez of Mt. Dora, Fla.; brothers Edward of Eureka, Frank of Rhode Island, Paul of Pittsburg, Bert of Emporia and Mike of Umatilla, Fla.; sisters Barbara Jacoby of Lakeland, Fla., and Mary Watson of Emporia; nine grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

JOHN "DOC" COOKSON
John Arron "Doc" Cookson, 54, of Hamilton, died Monday, March 24, at his home in Hamilton.

He was born on October 23, 1948, the son of Anna Mae Alvord (Cookson) Barb and James William Cookson in Emporia.

He is survived by his mother, Anna Mae (Cookson) Barb of Madison; daughters Melanie Cookson of Augusta and Samantha Cookson of Kansas City; granddaughter Alexis of Augusta; sisters Rosella Boone of Dennis, Kathy Deacon of Augusta and Doris Roach of Emporia and three brothers, Truman of Alva, Okla., Dan of Madison and Richard (Dick) of Toronto.

MARJORIE KNOWLES
Marjorie (Gilroy) Knowles, 98, of Dallas, Texas, died Monday, March 24, 2003.

She was born March 24, 1905, in Quincy, the daughter of True H. Gilroy and Del Martin Gilroy.

She is survived by son, True; grandsons True Jackson and Michael; three great-grandsons, Grant, Mason and Carter and one great-granddaughter, True Alexandra.

LEONA DAMRON

Leona Pearl Damron, 74, of Eureka, died Saturday, May 31, 2003, at Medicalodge of Eureka.

She was born at Princeton on February 1, 1929, the daughter of Levi Joseph and Bessie Mae (Anderson) Blevins.

She is survived by son Ronnie Damron of Quincy; daughter Pamela Watts of Virgil; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild and one sister, Viola Drake of Eureka.

PHYLLIS LEWIS
Phyllis Mae Lewis, 71, of rural Elk City, formerly of Toronto, died Saturday, June 7, 2003, at her residence.

She was born February 16, 1932, in Howard, the daughter of Henry M. and Florida (Weatherford) Sexton.

She is survived by four sons Edwin Lewis, Jr., of Liberal, Art Lewis, of Delaware, Okla., John Lewis of Temple, Texas, and Kevin Lewis of Elk City; two sisters, Hazel Williams of Andover and Betty Farrow of Newton; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

JOHN HOPPER
John Robert Hopper, 44, of Eureka, died Saturday, June 7, 2003, at his home.

He was born in Chula Vista, Calif., on June 25, 1958, the son of William John and June Arlene ((Bennett) Hopper.

He is survived by his mother, Arlene, of the home and one brother, Stephen Beumeler of Eureka.

VIRGINIA RICE
Virginia Lea Rice, 79, of Eureka, died June 9, 2003, at Greenwood County Hospital.

She was born September 3, 1923, near Eureka, the daughter of Elmer and Pearl Becker.

She is survived by four sons, Sonny Rice of Sealy, Texas, Ronnie Rice and Mike Rice, both of Buffalo, Texas, and Raymond Rice of Lipan, Texas; four daughters, Judy McKenzie of Bartlesville, Okla, Darlene Delpine and Sharon Lazzers, both of Eureka and Carolyn Sanborn of Ketchum, Okla.; one brother, Jack Becker of Pendleton, Ore., two sisters, Helen Martin of Umatilla, Ore., and Ruth Dublin of Blandville, Ky.; 19 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

KARL SEGEBARTT
Karl Addison Segebartt, 87, of Genesee, Idaho, died Sunday, June 1, 2003, in Moscow, Idaho.

He was born in Wellington on April 14, 1916, the son of Fredrick and Lela Segebartt.

He is survived by his wife, of the home; sons Allan of Moscow, Idaho, Denis of Denver, Colo., Gary of Genesee, Idaho, and Leon of Wellington; daughter Barbara of Ulysses; 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

EVELYN TOWNSLEY
Evelyn Jane Townsley, 69, of Severy, died Wednesday, June 4, 2003, at her home.

She was born on January 28, 1934, at Severy, to Albert McQueen and Cynthia Bernice (Sexton) Ambler.

She is survived by her husband, Jim; her sons, Junior Ramsey of Corning, Calif., James Ramsey of Augusta and Bill Townsley of Ft. Worth, Texas; her daughters, Cindy Watts of Park City, Clara Register and Elaine Wells, both of Augusta; her sister, Mary Billups of Viola; her aunts, Helen VanBuskirk and Joy Knight, both of Severy; 15 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.

MELISSA ANDERSEN

Melissa "Lessabee" Danielle Andersen, 18, of Glendale, Ariz., formerly of Wichita, died Sunday, July 20, 2003.

She is the daughter of Sondra "Sam" and Steve Anderson of Arizona.

She is survived by her parents, grandparens, Leslie Doty of Wichia, the late Melba Bedigrew Doty and the late Fred Bedigrew and Joyce and Lars Andersen of Nebraska.

MARY BREWER
Mary A. Brewer, 86, of Madison, died Wednesday, July 23, 2003, at Nwman Regional Health Hospital in Emporia.

The daughter of Reuben and Lillie Sage Neiman was born March 16, 1917, in Quincy.

She is survived by one son, Ronald Brewer of Virgil; one daughter, Myrna Brothers of Alvin, Texas; one sister, Agnes Hunt of Madison; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

BILLY "DOC" LEASURE
Billy Clark "Doc" Leasure, 86, of Eureka, died Tuesday, July 26, 2003, at the Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka.

He was born in Osceola, Mo., on February 5, 1917, the son of Roy and Nellie (Clark) Leasure.

He is survived by his wife, Delbertta, of the home; one stepson, John Juresic and his wife, Lynette and two grandchildren, Rachelle and Nathan, all of Andover.

FRED BOOK

Fred Elvin Book, 91, of Howard, died Monday, September 29, 2003, at the Howard Twilight Manor in Howard.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 2 at Resthaven Gardens of Memory in Wichita.

WALTER BROCKETT
Walter J. Brockett, 78, of Neal, died Friday, September 26, 2003, at Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka.

He was born in Dripping Springs, Okla., on January 25, 1925, the son of Walter Theodore and Bessie Mae (Mason) Brockett.

He is survived by his wife, Veta, of the home; four sons, Kenneth of Greeley, Colo., Larry of Olney Springs, Colo., Steve of Bridgeport, Texas, and Donald of Alamogordo, N.M.; two daughters, Charlet Smith of Wichita and Sharon Wooderson of Neal; one sister, Lorene Stith of Sutherland, Ore.; 17 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

DONNA FOULKE
Donna A. (Jones) Foulke, 51, of Wichita and formerly of Augusta, died Monday, September 22, 2003, at her home.

She was born February 4, 1952, in Fall River the daughter of Clifford and Nadine Jones.

She is survived by a son, Bill Foulke of Townada; a daughter, Brenda Foulke of Wichita; her parents, Clifford and Nadine Jones of Severy; two brothers, Donnie of Douglas and Roger of Eureka; a sister, Sharon Berry of Eureka; three grandchildren.

JEAN HAMBLIN
Jean Hamblin, 90, of Eureka, formerly of El Dorado died Tuesday, September 16, 2003, in Eureka.

She was born on January 15, 1913, in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of Ruth Hazel Laird.

She is survived by a daughter, Mary Faye Browning and husband Loy of Eureka; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

HETTIE MYERS
Hettie Marie Myers, 82, died September 26, 2003, at Medical Lodge in Eureka.

She was born on July 30, 1921, at Branch, Ark., the daughter of Alfred and Hettie Jane (Armstrong) Teasley.

She is survived by her husband, Ray, of the home; two daughters, Carol Collins of Jackson, Tenn., and Kathy Ray of Emporia; three sons, Raymond "Gene" Myers of Jackson, Tenn., Michael Myers of Angels Camp, Calif., and Jonathan Myers of Stockton, Calif.; 11 living grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
