Robert W. Chastain, 54, of El Dorado, died Sunday, September 24, 2006, at Via Christi St. Francis Medical Center in Wichita.

He was born June 11, 1952, in Eureka, the son of Everett and Carol Ann (Crooks) Call.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda, of the home; two daughters, Jennifer Parker of Elkhart and Tara Chastain of McPherson; five grandchildren; four sisters, Teresa Cates and Janice Reynard, both of Eureka, Vickey of Kansas City and Katenia Parker of El Dorado; two brothers, Tim Chastain of Kansas City and Antoney Call of Holton; two step-sisters, Shelly and Tammy Leman; his father, Clyde Chastain of Kansas City and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Services were held Thursday, September 28, at Carlson Funeral Home, El Dorado. Cremation has been effected.

MELVIN BOWLIN

Melvin L. Bowlin, 92, died Thursday, November 2, 2006, at Peterson Nursing Home in Osage City.

He was born March 1, 1914, at Severy, the son of Charles and Mary Stearman Bowlin.

He is survived by his wife, Anietta, of the home; two sons, Charles D. Bowlin of Emporia and Cary D. Bowlin of Osage City; three granddaughters; four great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and a sister, Audine Donley of Baytown, Texas.

Services were held Monday, November 6, at the United Methodist Church in Osage City. Interment followed in the Osage City Cemetery.

Memorials have been established with United Methodist Church or American Diabetes Association. Contribuitons may be sent in care of the VanArsdale Funeral Chapel, 107 N. 6th, Osage City, KS 66523, who was in charge of arrangements.

IRWIN COLLINGE
Irwin John Collinge, 80, of Emporia, died Thursday, November 2, 2006, at his home.

He was born in Emporia, on April 3, 1926, the son of Claude Leroy and Myra Van Gundy Collinge.

He is survived by his wife, Lola Jane, of the home; one son, Mike Collinge of Hamilton; three daughters, Linda Collinge-Germain of Brion, France, Judy Arnold of Valentine, Neb. and Sharon Collinge of Boulder, Colo.; nine grandchildren and one brother, Roy Collinge of Wakarusa.

Graveside services were held Monday, November 6, at Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Emporia, with Pastor Mic McGuire of Grace United Methodist Church officiating.

Memorials have been established with the Grace United Methodist Church and Heifer Project International. Contributions may be sent in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Box 175, Emporia, KS 66801, who was in charge of arrangements.

WALLACE LOCKARD
Wallace L. "Wally" Lockard, 71, of Liberty, Mo., died Wednesday, November 1, 2006, at his farm in Hamilton.

He was born August 8, 1935, in Emporia, the son of Walter and Ida (Akright) Lockard.

He is survived by his wife Sharon (Stone) Lockard; four children, Mark Lockard, Kim Watson, Amy Cole and Cindy Hamilton; a brother, Walter J. Lockard and twelve grandchildren.

Services were held on Saturday, November 4, at the Park Lawn Northland Chapel in Liberty, Mo.

A memorial has been established with Pleasant Valley Baptist Church Support Groups. Contributions may be sent to Park Lawn Northland Chapel, 1640 N. 291 HWY, Liberty MO. 64068.

LORRINE NILGES
Lorrine Nilges, 78, of Emporia, died Sunday, November 5, 2006, at her home.

She was born March 25, 1928, in Madison, the daughter of Virgil and Bernice (Ronk) Armstrong.

She is survived by her husband, of the home; two daughters, Janis Spillman of Eureka and June Delgado of Emporia; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four sisters, Louise Ryan of Woodland, Calif., Marilyn Ray of Emporia, Donna O'Neal of Madison and Linda Loomer of Gainsville, Mo.

Graveside services and intermenty were held Wednesday, November 8, at Number Eight Cemetery, east of Madison, with Pastor Michael Stubbs of Victory Fellowship Church in Emporia.

A memorial has been established with Hand in Hand Hospice. Contributions may be sent in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, 605 State Street, Emporia, KS 66801, who was in charge of arrangements.

ANNA MCNITT
Anna Laura McNitt, 92, of Toronto, died Saturday, November 4, 2006, at Greenwood County Hospital, in Eureka.

She was born January 28, 1914, to Luther and Alice (Winter) Klick at their farm home north of Toronto.

She is survived by four children; two daughters, Marilyn Weide of Yates Center and Sharon McNitt of Lenexa; two sons, Gary McNitt of Conifer, Colo. and Gordon McNitt of Toronto; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Edwina Trichler and Helen Bachelder, both of Yates Center.

Funeral services were held at the First United Methodist Church in Yates Center on November 7, with intermenty following at the Yates Center Cemetery, Yates Center.

A memorial has been established with the First United Methodist Church of Yates Center. Contributions may be sent in care of Campbell Funeral Home, P.O. Box 188, Yates Center, KS 66783.

ELIZABETH ROSE
Elizabeth R. "Betty" (Geist) Rose, 80, of Emporia, died Thursday, October 26, 2006, at her home.

She was born March 31, 1926, in Quincy. She graduated from Eureka High School in 1944.

She is survived by a son, Walter Rose of Topeka and five grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday, October 30, at the First Christian Church. Services were conducted by Reverend Bob Colerick. Interment followed at Memorial Lawn Cemetery.

Memorial contributions to Hand in Hand Hospice or the Emporia State University Foundation may be sent in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, P.O. Box 175, Emporia KS 66801.

NANCY BROWN

Nancy Kay Brown, 63, of Yates Center, died Saturday, November 25, 2006, in Chanute.

She was born September 25, 1943, in Eureka, the daughter of Floyd Mansfield and Hazel Bratton.

She is survived by her husband; a brother, Charles Mansfield of Cottonwood, Ariz. and a sister, Marie Davidson, M.D., of Durango, Colo.

Cremation has been effected. A memorial service and inurnment will be held at a later date.

Memorials have been established with the YCHS Art Department, Friends For Life or charity of donors choice. Contributions may be sent in care of Campbell Funeral Home, P.O. Box 188, Yates Center, KS 66783, who was in charge of arrangements.

JERRY "BEE" DAVIDSON
Jerry "Bee" Davidson, of Eureka, Kansas died on November 26, 2006 at Greewood County Hospital at the age of 76.

He was born on April 17, 1930 the son of Jerry and Mable (Green) Davidson in Cromwell, Oklahoma.

He is survived by his wife, Jo; daughter, Vicki Larson and husband Kevin of Olathe, Kansas; two grandchildren, Jared Larson of Newark, Delaware and Kyle and husband Adam Soeken of Great Bend, Kansas; brothers, Bill Davidson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Jack Davidson of Houston, Texas; sisters, Ellen Priesendorf and Betty Thomas both of Phoenix, Arizona.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, November 30, 2006 at Koup Family Funeral Home with Reverend Diana Hill officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.

A memorial has been established in his name to the Shriners Plane of Mercy and the First United Methodist Church. Contributions may be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home, P.O. Box 595, Eureka, KS 67045

GRACE CANNON
Grace Marie Cannon, 84, of Wichita, formerly of Hamilton, died Friday, November 24, 2006, at Lakepoint Nursing Center in Wichita.

She was born February 20, 1922, in Fall River, the daughter of Ralph A. and Grace (Weaver) Cannon.

She is survived by a cousin and other relatives.

Graveside services were held Tuesday, November 28, at Greenwood Cemetery with Reverend Diana Hill officiating.

A memorial has been established in her name to the Lakepoint Nursing Center Residence Fund. Contributions may be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home, P.O. Box 595, Eureka, KS 67045, who was in charge of arrangements.

JACQUELINE CORKERY
Jacqueline L. (Jackie) Corkery, 83, of Toronto, died Thursday, November 23, 2006, in Toronto.

She was born June 27, 1923, in Toronto, the daughter of Myron Earl Black and Vivienne M. Schaaf.

She is survived by a son, Barry Wayne Corkery of Eugene, Ore.; a daughter, Sharri Lynn Fuller of Toronto; four grandchildren; one step-grandchild and three great-grandchildren.

Services were held Wednesday, November 29, at the Toronto United Methodist Church in Toronto. Interment followed at the Toronto Cemetery.

A memorial has been established with Friends for Life. Contributions may be sent in care of Campbell Funeral Home, P.O. Box 188, Yates Center, KS 66783, who was in charge of arrangements.

MABLE HOOVER
Mable Florence Hoover, 91, of Howard, died Tuesday, November 21, 2006, at the Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka.

She was born on June 16, 1915, at Elk Falls, the daughter of Ed and Lulu Blanche (Crismas) Burres.

She is survived by her sister, DeEtta Lee of Howard; her nephews, Jim Smith of Eureka and Lewis Beaumont of Gardner; her nieces, Sandy Dunbar of Howard and Teresia Wussow of Haysville and several great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Graveside services were held Monday, November 27, at Grace Lawn Cemetery in Howard, with Pastor Robin Haines of the Flint Hills Assembly of God officiating.

A memorial has been established with the Howard Senior Center. Contributions may be sent in care of Zimmerman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1233, Howard, KS 67349, who was in charge of arrangements.

WALTER LOCKARD
Walter J. Lockard, 79, of Hamilton, died Saturday, November 25, at Holiday Resort in Emporia.

He was born December 6, 1926, in El Dorado, the son of Walter A. and Ida Mae Akright Lockard.

He is survived by a sister-in-law, Sharon Lockard of Liberty, Mo.; a nephew, Mark Lockard of Harrisonville, Mo.; and three nieces, Kim Watson of Liberty, Mo., Amy Cole of Excelsior Springs, Mo. and Cindy Hamilton of Lawson, Mo.

Graveside services were held Tuesday, November 28, at Janesville Cemetery, west of Hamilton, with Reverend Mark Demas officiating.

Memorials have been established in his name with the Hamilton Library and Hand In Hand Hospice. Contributions may be sent in care of Wilson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 488, Madison, KS 66860, who was in charge of arrangements.

NINA MANGANO
Nina Elena (Wiggins) Mangano, 76, of Bristol Penn., died Thursday, November 23, 2006.

She was born in Hume, Mo., on January 26, 1930, the daughter of George Richard and Mabel Ellen Wiggins.

She is survived by two sons, Christopher Nicholas Mangano of Newtown and Gregory Anthony Mangano of Quakertown; five grandchildren; four brothers, Wayne Wiggins of Eureka, George Wiggins, of Eureka, Jim Wiggins of Hamilton, Fred Wiggins of Ponca City, Okla. and a sister, Frieda Friend of Eureka.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 2, at Galzerano Funeral Home, 3500 Bristol-Oxford Valley Rd. Levittown, PA 19057.

A memorial has been established with and contributions may be sent to the Bucks County SPCA, P.O. Box 277, 1665 Street Road, Lahaska, PA 18931.

Funeral arrangements were with Galzerano Funeral Home, Levittown, Penn.

IRENE SKINNER
Irene E. Skinner, 99, of Eureka, died Friday, November 24, 2006, at Medicalodge of Eureka.

She was born on March 11, 1907, in Toledo, Ohio, the daughter of Joseph H. and Frances (Currin) Brabazon.

She is survived by her son, Thomas C. Skinner of Lawrence; a daughter, Mary K. Stauffer of Eureka; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 29, at Trinity Episcopal Church in Lawrence. Interment followed in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Memorials have been established in her name with the Trinity Episcopal Church and the Lawrence Humane Society. Contributions may be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home, P. O. Box 595, Eureka, KS 67045, who was in charge of arrangements.

DALE TALKINGTON
Vernon Dale Talkington, 54, of Savonburg, died Friday, November 24, 2006, at his home.

He was born August 5, 1952, in Strong City, the son of Vernon "Bud" and Jo (Soule) Talkington.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley, of the home; two daughters, Leslie Summervill of Savonburg and Teresa Phillips of Chanute; six grandchildren; his mother, Jo Talkington of Hamilton; two sisters, Pam Schankie of Madison and Cindy Cox of Longview, Texas and three brothers, Randy, Tracy and John Talkington, all of Madison.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 28, at Living Word Assembly in Chanute. Burial followed in Leanna Cemetery in Chanute. Military honors were presented by the Fort Riley Honor Guard.

A memorial has been established in his name with the Chanute Christian Academy. Contributions may be sent in care of Penwell-Gabel Gibson Chapel, 16 North Forest, Chanute, KS 66720, who was in charge of arrangements.

RACHEL TETER
Rachel Patsy Teter, 86, of Burns, died Sunday, November 26, at Lakepoint Nursing Center in El Dorado.

She was born August 22, 1920, northwest of Eureka, the daughter of William Fayette and Hattie Vera (Claycomb) Adams.

She is survived by two sons, A. Eldon Teter of Eureka and James Teter of Burns; three daughters, Mary Margaret Young and Judy Langhoffer both of Cassoday and Patsy Watkins of Burns; two brothers, Shirley Adams of Eureka and James Adams of Topeka; twelve grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 29, at the Carlson Funeral Home in El Dorado. Interment followed at the Cassoday Cemetery.

Memorials have been established in her memory with Hospice Care of Kansas and the Plane of Mercy. Contributions may be left in care of Carlson Funeral Home, 200 South Star, El Dorado, KS 67042, who was in charge of arrangements.

OLLIE VANROYEN
Ollie Dell VanRoyen, 90, of Eureka, died Friday, November 24, 2006, at Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka.

She was born September 18, 1916, in Putnam, Dewey County, Okla., the daughter of Charles and Julia (Foust) Smith.

She is survived by five daughters, Lilly Cheever, Alma Boardman, Karen Meyer and Glenice Chastain, all of Eureka and Linda Simons of Toronto; a sister, Blondena Harold of Mt. Hope; nineteen grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; ten great-great grandchildren; four step-great-great-grandchildren and two uncles.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, November 30, at Gracelawn Cemetery, Howard.

A memorial has been established in her name to Medicalodge of Eureka. Contributions may be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home, P.O. Box 595, Eureka, KS 67045, who was in charge of arrangements.

CARL BETSHER

Carl Edwin "Dutch" Betsher Jr., 83, died Friday, January 26, 2007, at Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka.

He was born on February 7, 1923, in Eureka, the son of Carl Edwin Sr. and Clara Jane (Clogston) Betsher.

He is survived by his wife, Martha, of the home; two sons, Ronald Betsher of Misawa Air Force Base, Japan and Steven Betsher of Lee's Summitt, Mo.; one daughter, Carla Ruelberg of Olathe; and five grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday, January 29, at Koup Family Funeral Home, Eureka, with Reverend Diana Hill of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Interment followed in Greenwood Cemetery.

Memorials have been established with the Greenwood County All Veterans Memorial and the Midian Shrine Plane of Mercy. Contributions may be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home, P.O. Box 595, Eureka, KS 67045, who was in charge of arrangements.
