CONCORDIA -- Richard E. Hayden, 88, Concordia, died Saturday, Jan. 24, 2004.
Mr. Hayden was born Jan. 9, 1916, at Huscher. He was a farmer and a stockman.

Survivors include a brother, Edward L. of Chapman; two sisters, Irene Browning of Jacksonville, Fla., and Evelyn M. Wiley of Somerset, Ky.; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Chapel, 325 W. Sixth St., Concordia 66901. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia.

Memorials may be made to Sunset Nursing Home.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Alfred Keller
ABILENE -- Alfred Keller, 88, Abilene, died Saturday, Jan. 24, 2004.
Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home, Abilene, is handling arrangements.

C. Richard Lacy
WaKEENEY -- C. Richard Lacy, 76, Wakeeney, died Friday, Jan. 23, 2004.
Mr. Lacy was born Feb. 4, 1927, at Hays. He was an assistant foreman for Beech Aircraft in Wichita.

He was preceded in death by a grandchild.

Survivors include his wife, Mathilda "Tillie," of the home; three daughters, Mathilda Sipult of Benton, Vicki Jett of Sugar Creek, Mo., and Tonya M. Lacy-Schulte of Wichita; a half brother, Mike Montgomery of California; two half-sisters, Sarah Calle of Nevada and Cecilia Dickinson; four grandchildren; three step grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Schmitt Funeral Home, Wakeeney. Burial will be in Wakeeney City Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Leukemia Society of America or American Diabetes Association, in care of the Schmitt Funeral Home, 336 N. 12th, Wakeeney 67672.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

ATWOOD -- Ralph G. Pochop, 82, Atwood, died Saturday, Jan. 24, 2004.
Williams Funeral Home, Atwood, is handling arrangements.

Eugene H. "Bud" Schweitzer
OSBORNE -- Eugene H. "Bud" Schweitzer, 63, Osborne, died Thursday, Jan. 22, 2004.
Mr. Schweitzer was born June 13, 1940, at Alton. He retired as a heavy equipment operator for the Osborne County Highway Department in June, 2002.

Survivors include his wife, Dee, of the home; two sons, Jerry of Osborne and Rick of Omaha, Neb.; a daughter, Tammy of Phoenix; three sisters, Geneva Mason of Osborne, Eileen McReynolds of Westminster, Colo., and Juanita Korinek of Salina; and six grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Clark-Gashaw Mortuary, 238 N. First, Osborne 67473. Burial will be in Osborne Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Stephanie Sue Collins
OSKALOOSA -- Stephanie Sue Collins, 42, Oskaloosa, died Friday, April 2, 2004.
Ms. Collins was born June 9, 1961, in Belleville. She was a self-employed artist.

Survivors include her parents, Jack and Sue Collins of Belleville; and two brothers, Jack Jr. of Lawrence and Steven of Lee's Summit, Mo.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at United Presbyterian Church, Belleville. Inurnment will be in Belleville Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the church.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today through Wednesday at Tibbetts-Fischer Funeral Home, 1104 20th, Belleville 66935.

Gladys Mae Confer
ST. FRANCIS -- Gladys Mae Confer, 87, St. Francis, died Saturday, April 3, 2004.
Mrs. Confer was born Gladys Mae Kanel on May 30, 1916, in Bird City. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Edgar Edmonds, in 1963; and a stepgreat-grandson.

Survivors include her husband, Lester M. of St. Francis; a stepdaughter, Arlene Peter of St. Francis; a brother, Bill Kanel of Las Vegas; a sister, Helen Kyle of Cottage Grove, Ore.; three stepgrandchildren; nine stepgreat-grandchildren; and six stepgreat-great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at United Methodist Church, St. Francis. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the church or Cheyenne County Hospital, St. Francis.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Knodel Funeral Home, 202 S. Benton, St. Francis 67756-0606.

MARION -- Edna Domke, 88, Marion, died Sunday, April 4, 2004.
Zeiner Funeral Home, Marion, is handling arrangements.

Delmar L. "Bud" Jewell
Delmar L. "Bud" Jewell, 81, Salina, died Thursday, April 1, 2004.
Mr. Jewell was born Sept. 26, 1922, in West Liberty, Ohio. He served 28 years in the U.S. Army, retiring as a master sergeant. He also worked in maintenance for First Christian Church, Salina, retiring in 1996.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillie, in 2000; a son, Del M., in 1994; a daughter, Georganne Jewell, in 1947; and two grandchildren.

Survivors include two sons, Bruce of Kentucky and Gary of Salina; five daughters, Lorraine Jewell, Sharlene Milligan, Vera Jewell and Vanessa Jewell, all of Salina, and Trudy Fisher of Wakarusa; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Vicky Milleson of Salina.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401. Burial will be in Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina, with military honors provided by Fort Riley.

Memorials may be made to First Christian Church, Salina.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the mortuary.

Armin W. Meitler
ELLSWORTH -- Armin W. Meitler, 91, Ellsworth, died Saturday, April 3, 2004.
Mr. Meitler was born April 10, 1912, on the family farm near Lucas. He was a retired farmer and woodcarver.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, Donald, in 1942.

Survivors include his wife, Norma of Ellsworth; two sons, Neal of Wales, Wis., and Gene of Lucas; a daughter, Lu Adams of Ellsworth; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Ellsworth. Burial will be private.

Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church TV Ministry, Ellsworth, or the Ellsworth County Historical Society, Ellsworth.

There will be no visitation.

Dale E. Nudson
LEVANT -- Dale E. Nudson, 64, Levant, died Friday, April 2, 2004.
Mr. Nudson was born Jan. 26, 1940, in Topeka. He retired from the Kansas Department of Transportation after 30 years.

He was preceded in death by a son, Dusty, in 2003.

Survivors include his wife, Rose Marie of the home; his father, Gerald E. "Jerry" of Topeka; two brothers, Steven of Georgia and Mark of Mission; and a grandson.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Harrison Chapel, 190 S. Franklin, Colby 67701. Burial will be in Beulah Cemetery, Colby.

Memorials may be made to the Sean Nudson Education Fund.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

John K. O'Brien
John K. O'Brien, 90, Salina, died Saturday, April 3, 2004.
Mr. O'Brien was born May 4, 1913, in Salina. He was a retired driver for Santa Fe Trailway Trucking.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elsie, in 1984.

Survivors include his wife, Lenice Jean of Salina.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Queen of the Universe Catholic Church, Salina. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Salina.

A vigil will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Salina.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Una Mae Wadley
SUPERIOR, Neb. -- Una Mae Wadley, 94, Superior, died Saturday, April 3, 2004.
Mrs. Wadley was born Feb. 18, 1910, in Osceola. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eldon, in 1998.

Survivors include nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel, 750 N. Commercial, Superior 68978. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Superior.

Visitation will be at the funeral home.

Lela Virginia Wonnell
OTTAWA -- Lela Virginia Wonnell, 86, Quinter, died Sunday, April 4, 2004.
Mrs. Wonnell was born Lela Virginia Leopold on Feb. 25, 1918, in Quinter. She was a secretary for the Department of Nurse Education at Fort Hays State University until retiring in 1977.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, George Fischer; her second husband, Dallas Wonnell; and a daughter, Carol M. Wallace.

Survivors include two sons, Charles L. Wonnell of Richmond and Robert J. Wonnell of Clinton, Mo.; a stepdaughter, Lavada Campbell of Dallas, Ga.; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Church of the Brethren, Quinter. Burial will be in Quinter Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Mickey-Leopold Funeral Home, 1024 Sheridan, Hoxie 67740, and from 10 a.m. until the service Wednesday at the church.

Margaret Mary Wyatt
MINNEAPOLIS -- Margaret Mary Wyatt, 72, Minneapolis, died Saturday, April 3, 2004.
Mrs. Wyatt was born Margaret Mary Ringwelski on May 22, 1931, in Little Falls, Minn. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harrison L. "Squirt," in 1998; two infant daughters, Yvonne and Renee; and a grandson.

Survivors include two sons, Jay of Lebanon, Neb., and Jon of Norton; three daughters, Joy Fischer of Ellis, Julie Smith of Wilsonville, Neb., and Anita Farrington of Minneapolis; two brothers, George Ringwelski and Ed Ringwelski, both of St. Paul, Minn.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Norton. Burial will be in Norton Cemetery.

A rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Enfield Funeral Home, 215 W. Main, Norton 67654.

Memorials may be made to the church or the Ottawa County Health System.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Adaline B. Beagley
GENESEO -- Adaline B. Beagley, 87, Geneseo, died Friday, June 4, 2004.
Mrs. Beagley was born Adaline B. Rush on Feb. 16, 1917, in McPherson County. She was a homemaker and retired cook for the Geneseo school.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford, in 1989; a daughter, Lois in 1944; and a great-grandson.

Survivors include two daughters, Loretta Schneider of Olpe and Louise Johnson of Hutchinson; three sons, James of Corpus Christi, Texas, Roy of Geneseo and Larry of Ellsworth; 17 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Parsons Funeral Home, 307 N. Lincoln, Ellsworth 67439. Burial will be in Geneseo Cemetery.

Mrs. Frickey was born Idella Nelson on May 22, 1940, in Worthington, Minn. She was a self-employed insurance and real estate agent.

Survivors include two sons, Terry of Oberlin and Kevin of Olathe; a daughter, Cinda Flax of Arnold; two sisters, Janette Votapka and Patricia Whetzel, both of Oberlin; and eight grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at United Church of Oberlin. Burial will be in Oberlin Cemetery.

Mr. Gross was born Jan. 27, 1918, in Hays. He was a painting contractor.

Survivors include his wife, Fern of Hays; a son, David of Milford; a daughter, Marie Gross of Hays; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hays. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Hays.
