SUPERIOR, Neb. -- Daryl Allington, 73, Superior, died Saturday, Oct. 9, 2004.

Mr. Allington was born Aug. 21, 1931, near North Branch, Kan. He was a farmer and rancher.

Survivors include his wife, Joline, of Superior; two sons, Joel of Hastings and Tony of Valparaiso; and five grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Megrue-Price Funeral Home, 750 N. Commercial, Superior, NE 68978. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Superior, with military rites.

Memorials may be made in care of the family.

Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. until the service Tuesday at the funeral home.

Deborah R. Blackhart
COLBY -- Deborah R. Blackhart, 51, Colby, died Saturday, Oct. 9, 2004.

Mrs. Blackhart was born Dec. 9, 1952, in Denver. She was an emergency medical technician for Thomas County.

Survivors include two sons, Jason M. of Bird City and Andrew M. of Colby; a daughter, Valerie C. Blackhart of Colby; 11 brothers, Melvin Phillips, George Phillips, Glenn Phillips, Marvis Phillips, Terry Phillips, Chuck Plumisto, Mike Plumisto, Dale Plumisto, Dwayne Plumisto, Sonny Plumisto and David Plumisto; eight sisters, Marsha Long, Mickey Miller, Char Barnhart, Cathy Carney, Lois Armstrong, Kelly Marker, Lynette Plumisto and Anita Phillips; and six grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Kersenbrock Funeral Chapel, 745 S. Country Club, Colby 67701. Burial will be in Beulah Cemetery, Colby.

Memorials may be made in her name to be designated at a later date, in care of any Colby bank or the chapel.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today at the funeral chapel.

Eleanor L. Higgins
CONCORDIA -- Eleanor L. Higgins, 88, Concordia, died Saturday, Oct. 9, 2004.

Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia, is handling arrangements.

HILL CITY -- Evelyn M. McClain, 85, Hill City, died Sunday, Oct. 10, 2004.

Spencer-Stinemetz Chapel, Hill City, is handling arrangements.

Rozelle Sklenar
MARION -- Rozelle Sklenar, 63, Marion, died Saturday, Oct. 9, 2004.

Mrs. Sklenar was born Rozelle Hatton on Sept. 16, 1941, in Eastland County, Texas. She was a retired pharmacy technician and office manager.

She was preceded in death by a grandchild.

Survivors include her husband, Joseph, of Marion; a son, J.M. of Bixby, Okla.; a daughter, Janice Wiles of Cincinnati; five sisters, Dorothy Godwin of Duncanville, Texas, Bernice Gildner, Peggy Lindsey and Jenna Vee Miller, all of Arlington, Texas, and Linda Young of Eastland, Texas; and five grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Family Parish, St. John Nepomucene Church, Pilsen. Burial will be in Pilsen Cemetery.

A rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Zeiner Funeral Home, 205 Elm, Marion 66861.

Memorials may be made to the Father Kapaun Guild.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Alda L. Wilken
LEOTI -- Alda L. Wilken, 82, Leoti, died Saturday, Oct. 9, 2004.

Mrs. Wilken was born Alda L. Crozier on Jan. 28, 1922, in Finney County. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred W., in 1994; and a granddaughter.

Survivors include four sons, Fred D. of Derby, Edward W. of Modoc, and Garrett L. and Carey J., both of Scott City; three daughters, Louetta L. Staab of Dammeron Valley, Utah, Barbara J. Miller of Scott City and Karen Sue Lindsey of Luray; and a sister, Carey Bretz of Garden City.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church, Leoti. Burial will be in Leoti Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Scott County or Leoti EMTs, in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home, Leoti.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Michael R. Axman
OLMITZ -- Michael R. Axman, 48, Olmitz, died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2004.
Mr. Axman was born Feb. 10, 1956, in Great Bend. He was a mechanic for Jomax Construction.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, Joseph Jerome Axman.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy of Olmitz; two sons, Chad of Hutchinson and Greg of Olmitz; a daughter, Lisa Axman of Olmitz; his mother, Betty Mae Axman of Olmitz; two brothers, Joe F. of Olmitz and Paul of Hoisington; three sisters, Lillian Palsmeier of Conway Springs, Barb Boldt of Oakley and Rita Hickel of Hoisington; and two grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Ann Catholic Church, Olmitz. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Olmitz.

A vigil will be at 7 p.m. today at the church, followed by a Knights of Columbus rosary.

Memorials may be made to Knights of Columbus Council 2100.

Visitation will be from noon to 5 p.m. today at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, 415 N. Main, Hoisington 67544, and from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the church.

A.D. "Gus" Depperschmidt
OAKLEY -- A.D. "Gus" Depperschmidt, 97, Oakley, died Monday, Nov. 1, 2004.
Mr. Depperschmidt was born Feb. 9, 1907, in Rush County. He was a retired farmer.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine, in 1993; and three grandchildren.

Survivors include two sons, Daniel of Scott City and Thomas of Oakley; two daughters, Jeannine Call of Hays and Wanda Depperschmidt of Scott City; three sisters, Katie Goetz of Dodge City, and Betty Kaiser and Bertha Owens, both of Denver; 12 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph's Church, Oakley. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Oakley.

A rosary and wake will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Kennedy-Koster Funeral Home, 217 Freeman, Oakley 67748.

Memorials may be made to the Oakley Fire Department, in care of the funeral home.

Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Patricia L. Ewers
RUSSELL -- Patricia L. Ewers, 60, Russell, died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2004.
Mrs. Ewers was born Patricia L. Lee on Jan. 6, 1944, in St. Paul, Neb. She was a homemaker and worked for tax accounting offices.

Survivors include her husband, Gene of the home; a daughter, Tracie VanBeeclaere of Pittsburg; four sons, Todd of Wichita, Troy of Deadwood, S.D., Travis of Russell and Talby of Webb City, Mo.; two brothers, Frank Lee of Langlois, Ore., and Jack Lee of Fort Collins, Colo.; and 12 grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Pohlman-Heise Memorial Chapel, 610 N. Maple, Russell 67665. Private family inurnment will be at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the Ronald McDonald House of Kansas City, Mo., in care of the funeral home.

Julie Kathryn Funk
Julie Kathryn Funk, 38, Salina, died Saturday, Oct. 30, 2004.
Mrs. Funk was born Julie Kathryn LaBarge on Aug. 12, 1966, in Concordia. She was an office sssistant at C.W. Lynn Abstract, Salina, and worked for the Edward Jones investment firm, Salina. She married Mitchell Todd Funk on July 26, 1986, in Concordia. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Salina, where she assisted in the parish religion classes.

Survivors include her husband, Mitchell Todd Funk; her parents, James R. and Marlys J. LaBarge of Concordia; a son, Nicholas Adam and a daughter, Lauren Paige Funk, both of Salina; two brothers, Mark J. and wife Anita LaBarge of Aurora, and Galen C. and wife Mary LaBarge of Concordia; two sisters, Janet L. and husband Glen Chaplin of Manhattan and Jeannie M. and husband Tony Montana of Peoria, Ariz.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter Catholic Church, Aurora, with the Rev. Leroy Metro officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter Cemetery, Aurora.

A rosary will be said at 6:30 p.m. today at Carlson-Ford-Geisendorf Funeral Home, 500 S. Ohio, Salina 67401

Memorials may be made to the children's education fund.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

HERNDON -- Chauncey Hafner, 85, Herndon, died Monday, Nov. 1, 2004.
Pauls Funeral home, Oberlin, is handling arrangements.

Jane Vivian Long
LINCOLN -- Jane Vivian Long, 82, Lincoln, died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2004.
Mrs. Long was born Jane Vivian Baringer on Sept. 28, 1922, in Lincoln. She was raised in the Denmark community, attended grade school at Trail Creek and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1940. She married Charles Q. Mason on April 7, 1942, and George Long on Dec. 31, 1945. She was a homemaker and a dispatcher for the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office for 21 years, retiring in 1990. She also was a member of the Lincoln VFW Auxiliary and hospital auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ivan Baringer; her mother, Beryl (Baringer) Wilbeck; her stepfather, John Wilbeck; and two brothers, Keith and Dale Baringer.

Survivors include two sons, Ron Mason of Lincoln and Don Long of Courtland; two sisters, Mary McKinney of Salina and JoAnn Spiker of Syracuse; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hall Chapel, 111 E. Elm, Lincoln 67455, the Rev. Gerald Radtke officiating. Burial will be in Lincoln City Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

Visitation will be from 1 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m.

Chris Pete Nelsen
SUPERIOR, Neb. -- Chris Pete Nelsen, 91, Superior, died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2004.
Mr. Nelsen was born June 7, 1913, near Ruskin. He was a retired farmer.

Survivors include three nieces, Betty Andreasen, Myrtle Roe and Marjorie Hulbert, all of Mankato, Kan.; and a nephew, Donald Nelsen of Hastings.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel, 750 N. Commercial, Superior, NE 68978. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Superior.

Memorials may be made to Superior Good Samaritan Center.

Neva Elaine Rhamy
ATWOOD -- Neva Elaine Rhamy, 88, Atwood, died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2004.

Theresa Robben
WALKER -- Theresa Robben, 70, Walker, died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2004.
Mrs. Robben was born Theresa Rajewski on Oct. 24, 1934, in Vincent. She and her husband owned and operated Robben Insurance and Accounting, Victoria.

Survivors include her husband, Norbert F. of the home; five sons, Michael, James and Joseph, all of Victoria, Daniel of Hays and John of Meriden; two daughters, Marijo Isbell of Suwanee, Ga., and Susan Karlin of Catherine; two brothers, Gilbert Rajewski of New Iberia, La., and James Rajewski of Vincent; three sisters, Doris Wellbrock of New Iberia, Mary Catherine Nowak of Edmond, Okla., and Rita Gibson of Longmont, Colo.; her mother-in-law, Josie Robben of Victoria; 17 grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Fidelis Catholic Church, Victoria. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Walker.

A vigil will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Cline's Mortuary, 412 Main, Victoria 67671, followed by rosaries by St. Ann's Christian Mothers, VFW Auxiliary and Daughters of Isabella.

Memorials may be made to Midland Hospice, Topeka, or for Masses.

Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, 1 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

James R. Rodehorst
NELSON, Neb. -- James R. Rodehorst, 69, Nelson, died Saturday, Oct. 30, 2004.
Mr. Rodehorst was born April 19, 1935, near Sweetwater, Neb.

He was an interim pastor for several churches and was chaplain at the Nelson Good Samaritan Center.

He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Dean Rodehorst; and a daughter, Anneliese Joy Rodehorst.

Survivors include his wife, Leola of Nelson; three sons, Ronald Ray of Harvest Ala., James Leo of Wichita, Kan., and Thomas Allen of Kearney; three daughters, Sharon Kay Koch of Crete, Karen Sue McCollum of Guangzhou, China, and Kristi Lynn Morales of Harrison, Tenn.; three sisters, Nancy Wick of Amherst, and Margaret Rodehorst and Kathaleen Hanna, both of Riverdale; 21 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Nelson Community United Church of Christ. Burial will be in Clay Center (Neb.) Cemetery, with full military rites.

A memorial has been established in care of the family.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Klawitter-Price Funeral Home, 446 S. Main, Nelson, NE 68961.

Frances L. Thompson
CHAPMAN -- Frances L. Thompson, 88, Chapman, died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2004.
Mrs. Thompson was born Frances L. Outon on Feb. 14, 1916, in Toronto. She worked at Beech Aircraft Co., Wichita, and at Wal-Mart in Neosho, Mo., and Manhattan.

Survivors include three sons, James F. Holderman of Topeka, R. Duane Thompson of Bailey, Colo., and Jerry D. Thompson of Olathe; three daughters, Billie Dee Campbell of Chapman, Joyce Allegrucci of Topeka and Judith Deyo of Cypress, Texas; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Londeen Funeral Chapel, 206 W. Fifth, Chapman 67431. Burial will be in Indian Hill Cemetery, Chapman.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Chapman Valley Manor or TOMAGWA Health Clinic, Tomball, Texas, in care of the funeral home.

Visitation will be from Friday morning until the service at the funeral home.

Ruth E. Wheaton
NORTON -- Ruth E. Wheaton, 90, Norton, died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2004.
Mrs. Wheaton was born Ruth E. Benien on Jan. 3, 1914, in Lincoln. She was a bookkeeper in retail sales.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley.

Survivors include a brother, Alfred Benien of Norton; and a sister, Frances Simpson of Atkinson, N.C.

There will be no services. The body was cremated.

Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, 1115 Second, Phillipsburg 67661, is handling arrangements.

Dorothy M. Band
COURTLAND -- Dorothy M. Band, 84, Courtland, died Monday, Nov. 15, 2004.
Mrs. Band was born Dorothy M. Blanding on Dec. 23, 1919, in Formoso. She was a retired housekeeper for Bel-Villa Motel, Belleville.

Her second husband, Arvid Band, died in 1980.

Survivors include two sons, Howard Clark of Scandia and Richard Clark of Formoso; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Ada Lutheran Cemetery, Ada.

Memorials may be made to Ada Lutheran Church.

Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. today, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Bachelor-Faulkner-Dart-Surber Funeral Home, 324 Kansas, Scandia 66966.
