Nora Elizabeth "Beth" Lightfoot

MOUNT CARMEL, Ill. -- Nora Elizabeth "Beth" Davidson Lightfoot, 84, Mount Carmel, died Saturday, Nov. 20, 2004.

Mrs. Lightfoot was born Nora Elizabeth Blanding on Aug. 24, 1920, in Barnard, Kan.

She worked as a bookkeeper for several years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Forest Davidson; and a son, Ed Davidson.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary Beth Morhman of Mount Carmel; a sister, Inez Griffith of Downs, Kan.; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

The body was cremated. Inurnment will be in Salina, Kan., at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Short Funeral Home, 527 Mulberry, Mount Carmel, IL 62863, is handling arrangements.

Martin F. Meyer

TAMPA -- Martin F. Meyer, 95, Tampa, died Sunday, Nov. 21, 2004.

Mr. Meyer was born June 28, 1909, in Tampa. He was a farmer.

Survivors include his wife, Florentine, of Hillsboro; a son, Glenn of Union City, Calif.; two brothers, Anton of Ramona and George of Ellinwood; and a sister, Magdalene Bentz of Tampa.

The funeral will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. John Lutheran Church, Tampa. Burial will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Tampa.

Memorials may be made to St. John Lutheran Church.

Visitation will be from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

Jost Funeral Home, 406 S. Washington, Hillsboro 67063, is handling arrangements.

Lillie Schlotthauer

MARION -- Lillie Schlotthauer, 95, Marion, died Monday, Nov. 22, 2004.

Mrs. Schlotthauer was born Lillie Haas on Feb. 15, 1909, in Canton. She was a homemaker.

Her husband, David, died in 1953.

Survivors include two daughters, Frances Ridgeway of Hesston and Lois Johnson of Marion; three sisters, Elsie Gerlach of Hillsboro, and Dorothy Helmer and Doris Liggett, both of Newton; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Marion. Burial will be in Marion Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church.

Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. today at Zeiner Funeral Home, 205 Elm, Marion 66861.

Bessie Stolzenburg

CLYDE -- Bessie Stolzenburg, 96, Clyde, died Monday, Nov. 22, 2004.

Nutter Mortuary, Concordia, is handling arrangements.

Rodger L. Wiles

HUNTER -- Rodger L. Wiles, 61, Hunter, died Sunday, Nov. 21, 2004.

Mr. Wiles was born April 4, 1943, in Beloit. He was a truck driver.

Survivors include his wife, Marlene, of the home; two sons, Troy of Hunter and Todd of Salina; two daughters, Machelle Wiles of Hunter and Malinda Cunningham of Ellsworth; two brothers, Bob of Hunter and Brad of Beloit; and six grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at United Methodist Church, Hunter. Inurnment will be in Rose Valley Cemetery, near Hunter.

Memorials may be made to the family.

There will be no visitation. The body was cremated.

McDonald-Roberts Funeral Service, 910 N. Campbell, Beloit 67420, is handling arrangements.

Lillian Kay Wilson

WICHITA -- Lillian Kay Wilson, 58, Wichita, formerly of Salina, died Saturday, Nov. 20, 2004.

Mrs. Wilson was born Lillian Kay Dellinger. She was a former legal secretary for Social and Rehabilitation Services, Wichita.

She was preceded in death by a son, Doug.

Survivors include her husband, Dennis, of the home; two sons, Gary Wilson of Lucas and Chris Kelly of Wichita; a daughter, Kathy Clements of Salina; two brothers, Scott Dellinger of Houston and Jack Dellinger of Aurora, Colo.; and eight grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Epworth United Methodist Church, 856 S. Green, Wichita.

Memorials may be made to Shriners Plane of Mercy, 130 N. Topeka, Wichita 67202.

Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. today at DeVorss Flanagan-Hunt Mortuary, 201 S. Hydraulic, Wichita 67211, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

John Evan Ayers
SUPERIOR, Neb. -- John Evan Ayers, 89, Superior, Neb., died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2004.
Mr. Ayers was born on May 17, 1915, in Tescott, Kan. He was a retired cattleman and farmer.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Bernadell, in 1947.

Survivors include his wife, Martha, of Superior; two sons, Jon Rodney of Cairo and R. Bruce of Courtland, Kan.; a brother, A. Vaughn of Englewood, Colo.; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, at Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel, 750 N. Commercial, Superior, NE 68978. Burial will be in White Rock Cemetery, Courtland, Kan.

Memorials may be made to Brodstone Memorial Hospital Dialysis Center.

Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to service time Saturday at the funeral home.

V.A. "Bud" Hills
MANKATO -- V. A. "Bud" Hills, 83, Mankato, died Nov. 25, 2004.
Melby Mortuary, Mankato, is in charge of arrangements.

Reva Hixon
PALCO -- Reva Hixon, 84, Palco, died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2004.
Moore-Overlease Funeral Chapel, Plainville, is handling arrangements.

Gerald F. "Jerry" Johnson
DELPHOS -- Gerald F. "Jerry" Johnson, 73, Delphos, died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2004.
Mr. Johnson was born on March 24, 1931, in Concordia. He owned and operated JJ's Bestyet Grocery in Delphos until retiring in 1995.

Survivors include his wife, M. Jane, of Delphos; two sons, Douglas of Leoti and Michael of Delphos; two daughters, Pamela Leiker of Liberal and Lori Sisk of Wichita; and nine grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Delphos United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Delphos Cemetery.

Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to Delphos Youth Group and God Squad.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Shields Funeral Home, 405 Argyle, Minneapolis.

Fern O. Reinert
BELOIT -- Fern O. Reinert, 80, Beloit, died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2004.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John Catholic Church, Beloit. Burial will be at St. John Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 to 6 p.m. today, where family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. A vigil service and rosary will be at 7 p.m.

Harrison Funeral Home, Beloit, is handling arrangements.

Clarence "C.A." Romeiser
Clarence "C.A." Romeiser, 95, Salina, died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2004.
Mr. Romeiser was born Dec. 4, 1908, in Norton County, the son of Henry J. Romeiser and the former Caroline Studt. He graduated from Kansas Wesleyan Business College in 1927. His first job was with the Hays City Flour Mill. He moved to Salina in 1938, working for the Eberhart-Simpson Grain Co. In 1946, he became a partner in Simpson-Romeiser Grain Co. In 1948, he formed and operated Romeiser Grain Co. until 1965 when it was sold to Morrison Grain Co. He was a charter director of First Trust Company, later First Bank of Kansas. He had served as a board member of Asbury Hospital, Salina Country Club, National Grain and Feed Association, Kansas Grain and Feed Association, Salina Board of Trade, St. John's Lutheran Church and Salina YMCA.

Survivors include his wife, Feryl Spaniol Romeiser of Salina; a son, Dr. Rex Romeiser and wife Carol of Salina; a daughter, Nancy Bressler and husband Steve of Salina; a brother, Lawrence M. Romeiser and wife Flora of North Platte, Neb.; a sister, Carol Macklin of Austin, Texas; six grandchildren, Lynn Sweeney, Lori Hinnen, Rex Swartz, Clay Romeiser, Nyla Romeiser and Dr. Ryan Romeiser; four stepgrandchildren, Betsy Horn, Phil Bressler, Molly Kerr and Amy Belew; and 12 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Church, the Rev. Joel Remmers officiating.

Memorials may be made to the church or Presbyterian Manor.

There will be no visitation. The body was cremated.

HILL CITY -- Merle Anderson, Hill City, died Monday, Dec. 6, 2004.

LaVerne W. Barrett
HERINGTON -- LaVerne W. Barrett, 74, Herington, died Monday, Dec. 6, 2004.
Mr. Barrett was born Dec. 23, 1929, in Herington. He worked numerous jobs around Herington.

Survivors include three brothers, Bobby of Herington, Ronnie of Auburn and James of Guadalajara, Mexico.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 404 S. Broadway, Herington 67449. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery, Herington.

Memorials may be made to the Lutheran Care Home, Herington, in care of the funeral home.

Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. today and 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Wayne Levon Brewer
LARNED -- Wayne Levon Brewer, 54, Larned, died Nov. 30, 2004.
Mr. Brewer was born Jan. 20, 1950, in Fort Coffee, Okla., the son of Ella Mae (Blocker) and Eugene Marion Brewer. He was a graduate of Hutchinson Community College. He worked as a cook and had worked at the Holiday Inn and Bosselman's in Salina. He was a member of Loyd Memorial Church of God in Christ in Salina.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ella Mae Brewer.

Survivors include his father, Eugene, of Fort Coffee; a brother, Edwin Brewer of Salina; and an uncle, Carl Blocker of Salina.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Triumph Baptist Church, Fort Coffee. Burial will be in Fort Coffee Cemetery.

There will be no visitation.

Carlson-Ford-Geisendorf Funeral Home, 500 S. Ohio, Salina 67401, is handling arrangements.

Carol Jean Bridgwater-Leonard
RENO, Nev. -- Carol Jean Bridgwater-Leonard, 59, Reno, died Nov. 30, 2004.
Mrs. Bridgwater-Leonard was born Jan. 19, 1945, in Sioux City, Iowa, the daughter of John and Wilma L. (Wilson) Haaga. She graduated in 1963 from Salina High School, Salina, Kan., and received a degree in nursing from Fort Hays Kansa State College, Hays, Kan. As a registered nurse, she trained and was a member of the first open heart surgery team at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. She loved flying and received her private pilot license in 1975. In the early 1980s, she entered the emergency medical field and became a critical care flight nurse. She worked for Medic Air in Reno and Tahoe International Airport for more than 10 years.

Survivors include her husband, Stephen S. Leonard; a son, Kevin J. Page of Reno; a daughter, Krista J. Bosco and husband Steve of Reno; a brother, John J. Haaga and wife Rose of Salina; a sister, Phyllis M. Franklin and husband Lewis of Salina; and a granddaughter, Allison J. Bosco of Reno.

Services will be at noon Monday at Masonic Memorial Gardens, Reno. Burial will be at a later date in Roselawn Memorial Park, Salina.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or Saint Mary's Hospice of Reno.

Evangeline M. "Van" Daily
Evangeline M. "Van" Daily, 81, Salina, died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2004.
Ryan Mortuary, Salina, is handling arrangements.

James A. Delker
WICHITA -- James A. Delker, 69, Wichita, died Oct. 19, 2004.
Mr. Delker was born Aug. 26, 1935, in Abilene, the son of Frank B. and Nellie (Knopp) Delker. He attended Pearl Grade School and was a 1953 graduate of Dickinson County High School at Chapman, where he was recently named to the CHS Athletic Hall of Fame for his achievements in basketball and track. He was named to the All Star State basketball team in 1953 and set records in the high jump.

He attended Kansas State University with a degree in business and worked in computer operations for the U.S. Atomic Laboratories in Oak Ridge, Tenn., retiring in 1990. He married Patricia Gaston on June 8, 1958.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara; a brother, Lester; and two sisters, Noma Davis and Dolores Meyer.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia, of Wichita; a son, Michael of Jacksonville, Fla.; three brothers, Warren of San Antonio, Vernon of Chapman and Theodore of Bishop, Calif.; and two sisters, Marjorie Delker of Salina and Irene Meyer of Carlton.

A memorial service was at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, Wichita.

Hillside Funeral Home, Wichita, handled arrangements.
