Delbert H. Bruning
ELLSWORTH — Delbert H. Bruning, 90, Ellsworth, died Thursday, Sept. 1, 2005.

Mr. Bruning was born Feb. 14, 1915, in Ellsworth County. He was a farmer and stockman.

A son, Doyle, died in 1994.

Survivors include his wife, Lucille, of Ellsworth; two daughters, Marlaine Malone of Tonganoxie and Dianne Sheldon of Ellsworth; two sons, Keith and Bruce, both of Ellsworth; three brothers, Ralph, Orval and Leroy, all of Ellsworth; five sisters, Laverna Hunter, Elda Warttig and Elsie Hunter, all of Ellsworth, Norma Clark of Great Bend and Eva Katzenmeier of Abilene; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, rural Ellsworth. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Ellsworth.

Memorials may be made to the church.

Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Parsons Funeral Home, 307 N. Lincoln, Ellsworth 67439, and 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at the church.

D.J. Bugbee
GEM — D.J. Bugbee, 75, Gem, died Friday, Sept. 2, 2005.

Harrison Chapel, Colby, is handling arrangements.

Ida C. Conyac
HILL CITY — Ida C. Conyac, 86, Hill City, died Friday, Sept. 2, 2005.

Stinemetz Funeral Home, 522 N. Pomeroy, Hill City, is handling arrangements.

Lucy Katherine Dortland
RUSSELL — Lucy Katherine Dortland, 94, Russell, died Thursday, Sept. 1, 2005.

Mrs. Dortland was born Lucy Katherine Robben on Dec. 19, 1910, in Walker. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald, in 1975.

Survivors include a son, Everett of Gorham; a daughter, Geraldine of Denver; a sister, Alma Dreiling of Hays; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Gorham. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Gorham.

A Daughters of Isabella rosary will be said at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, followed by a vigil at 7 p.m., Russell Funeral Home, 610 N. Elm, Box 566, Russell 67665.

Memorials may be made to the church, in care of the funeral home.

Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and from 9 a.m. until the service Monday at the church.

Susie J. Ehrlich
MARION — Susie J. Ehrlich, 92, Marion, died Thursday, Sept. 1, 2005.

Mrs. Ehrlich was born Susie J. Klink on July 30, 1913, in Beaver County, Okla. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Morris N.; and a son, Morris Lee.

Survivors include a son, Donald of Emporia; a daughter, Donna Kelly of Marion; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Zeiner Funeral Home, 205 Elm, Marion 66861. Burial will be in Marion Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Marion Manor Nursing Home.

Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Marjorie R. “Marge” Hill
BELOIT — Marjorie R. “Marge” Hill, 94, Beloit, died Friday, Sept. 2, 2005.

McDonald-Roberts Funeral Service, Beloit, is handling arrangements.

Marcella M. Kastle
PHILLIPSBURG — Marcella M. Kastle, 81, Phillipsburg, died Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2005.

Mrs. Kastle was born Marcella M. Fink on Feb. 26, 1924, in Kirwin. She was a homemaker.

Her husband, Richard “Dick,” died in 1995.

Survivors include two sons, Jeff of Phillipsburg and Philip of Rome, Italy; two sisters, Virginia Getty of Spring, Texas, and Alberta Fisk of Tulsa, Okla.; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, 1115 Second, Phillipsburg 67661. Burial will be in Bogart Cemetery, Phillips County.

A vigil will be at 7 p.m. Monday at the chapel.

Memorials may be made to Phillipsburg area youth sports.

Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. Sunday and 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at the chapel. The casket will remain closed.

Robert S. Maxey
Robert S. Maxey, 49, Salina, died Friday, Sept. 2, 2005.

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Sharon A. Melko, 63, Cheyenne, died Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2005.

Ryan Mortuary, Salina, is handling arrangements.

C.E. “Ed” Miller
HERINGTON — C.E. “Ed” Miller, 72, Herington, died Friday, Sept. 2, 2005.

Mr. Miller was born Feb. 11, 1933, in Delavan. He was manager at Tatge Chemical and Manufacturing until he retired.

Survivors include his wife, Patsy J., of the home; three children, Carrie Miller-Jones of Shawnee, Tim Miller of Asbury, N.J., and Hans Bailey of Junction City; two brothers, James of Delavan and Jerry of Las Vegas; a sister, Kathleen Miller of Sterling; and three grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 5 p.m. Sunday at Herington United Methodist Church. A private Masonic burial service will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery, Herington.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church or Herington Municipal Hospital, in care of Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, Herington Chapel, 404 S. Broadway, Herington 67449.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until the time of service Sunday at the church.

Karen L. Molstad
COLBY — Karen L. Molstad, 51, Colby, died Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2005.

Mrs. Molstad was born Karen L. Ooton on Oct. 13, 1953, in Chicago. She was an administrative clerk for Rural Development.

Survivors include her husband, Steve, of Colby; a son, Kyle of Colby; her parents, Bill and Margaret Ooton, of Franklin, N.C.; and a brother, Chris Ooton of Gainesville, Fla.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Colby United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Beulah Cemetery, Colby.

Memorials may be made in her name, in care of any Colby bank or Harrison Chapel, Box 634, 190 S. Franklin, Colby 67701.

There will be no visitation. The body was cremated.

Erma Rosalie Roberson
GARDEN CITY — Erma Rosalie Roberson, 82, Garden City, died Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2005.

Mrs. Roberson was born Erma Rosalie Hedges on Oct. 18, 1922, in Offerle. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd W., in 2001.

Survivors include a son, F. Weldon Jr. of Wichita; three daughters, Roma Bizzell of Hays, Janie Nusser of Interlaken, N.Y., and Lisa Gleason of Garden City; four brothers, Thomas Hedges of Topeka, Don Hedges of Scott City, Emmett Hedges of Neodesha and Sam Hedges of Scott City; three sisters, Mary Torrey of Dodge City, Ella May Thummell of Salina and Carol Mathews of Kinsley; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. today at Price & Sons Funeral Home, 620 N. Main, Garden City. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery, Garden City.

Memorials may be made to Garden City Community College Endowment Association, in care of the funeral home.

Everett V. Russ
NATOMA — Everett V. Russ, 88, Natoma, died Thursday, Sept. 1, 2005.

Mr. Russ was born Jan. 15, 1917, in Stockton. He farmed and worked for the Kansas Department of Revenue.

Survivors include his wife, Irene, of Natoma; a son, Roger of Ottumwa, Iowa; a daughter, Vickie Roberts Russ of Russell; three granddaughters; and two great-grandchildren.

A graveside service with military honors will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Plainville Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Russell VFW Post 6240 or Natoma American Legion, in care of Pohlman-Heise Mortuary, 610 N. Maple, Russell 67665.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today at the mortuary, where the family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m.

Sister Evelyn Sanders
CONCORDIA — Sister Evelyn Sanders, 91, Concordia, died Thursday, Sept. 1, 2005.

She was born March 25, 1914, in Victoria. She entered the Sisters of St. Joseph, Concordia, on Aug. 11, 1932, and received the habit on March 20, 1933. She was a teacher and administrator, retiring in 1980.

Survivors include five sisters, Florene Dome of Hays, Leona Klein of Victoria, Angela Basgall of McPherson, Sandy Batchelder of Reno, Nev., and Lila Klein of Wichita; and two brothers, Ralph Sanders of Hays and the Rev. Reginald Sanders, Tarkio, Mo.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. today in the Motherhouse Chapel. Burial will be in Nazareth Motherhouse Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Sisters of St. Joseph Health Care and Retirement Fund or Apostolic Works of the Sisters, Box 279, Concordia.

LaVern L. Tiemeyer
ST. GEORGE — LaVern L. Tiemeyer, 67, St. George, died Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2005.

Mr. Tiemeyer was born Feb. 27, 1938, in Clifton. He was a carpenter at Kansas State University, retiring this year.

His wife, Verna Del, died in 2001.

Survivors include a son, Verlyn William of Clay Center; a daughter, Valerie Danner of Broken Arrow, Okla.; a brother, Keith of Woodland Park, Colo.; two sisters, Shirley Amaro and Nancy Padgett, both of Manhattan; and two grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Holmes-Pfeifley Funeral Home, Box 176, 303 S. Broadway, Riley 66531. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center.

Memorials may be made to the Riley County Humane Society.

Dollie Allen
TOPEKA — Dollie Allen, Topeka, formerly of Hill City, died Monday, Sept. 5, 2005.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Hill City United Methodist Church.

Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Stinemetz Funeral Home, 522 N. Pomeroy, Hill City 67642, and 9 a.m. until service Saturday at the church.

Doris Louise Border
McPHERSON — Doris Louise Border, 84, McPherson, died Thursday, Sept. 8, 2005.

Mrs. Border was born Doris Louise Bivens on Sept. 7, 1921, in Wells Tannery, Pa. She was a homemaker.

Her husband, John, died in 2004.

Survivors include three sons, Gerald Allen of Wichita, Daniel Roy of Warsaw, N.Y., and Joseph Dale of McPherson; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Glidden-Ediger Funeral Home Chapel, 222 W. Euclid, McPherson 67460-4207. Burial will be in McPherson Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Cedars Health Care Center, 1021 Cedars Drive, McPherson.

Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m.

Eldon L. “Huck” Chrisler
RUSSELL — Eldon L. “Huck” Chrisler, 62, Russell, died Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2005.

Mr. Chrisler was born Sept. 25, 1942, in Hays. He was a rancher and farmer in the Fairport and Natoma areas.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy, of the home; a daughter, Marilyn Ann Chrisler of Overland Park; two stepsons, Derie Ross of Moore, Okla., and Matt Ross of Corona, Calif.; three brothers, Ralph of Gorham and Delmar and Gene, both of Natoma; a sister, Ellen Ruth Strang of Kirkwood, Pa.; and four grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Pohlman-Heise Memorial Chapel, 610 N. Maple, Russell 67665. Burial will be in Fairport Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Huck Chrisler Memorial Fund, in care of the mortuary.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at the mortuary.

Violet Mae Flora
QUINTER — Violet Mae Flora, 79, Quinter, died Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2005.

Mrs. Flora was born Violet Mae King on Aug. 29, 1926, in Ochelata, Okla. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Owen, in 1999; and a great-grandson.

Survivors include seven sons, Arlen of Hays, Irvin of Shell, Wyo., Paul and Dan, both of Olathe, Aaron and Joe, both of Quinter, and Brad of Wyoming, Del.; a daughter, Anita Angle of Modesto, Calif.; a brother, David King of Longview, Wash.; three sisters, Charlotte Mahin of Quinter, Helen King of Los Angeles and Wanda Larkin of Yorba Linda, Calif.; 24 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, Studley. Burial will be in Baker Township Cemetery, Quinter.

Memorials may be made to Gove County Endowment Foundation or the church, in care of Schmitt Funeral Home, 901 S. Main, Quinter 67752.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
