GREEN COVE SPRINGS, Fla. — Goldie Faye Dorson, 90, Green Cove Springs, died Dec. 2, 2005.

Mrs. Dorson was born Goldie Faye Hanson on Nov. 9, 1915, in Jennings. She operated a child-care center.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold T. Lively; and a son, Danny, in 1956.

Survivors include a son, Larry of Jennings; a daughter, Fern “Dee” Borsheim of Green Cove Springs; a brother, Ivis Hanson of Jennings; four grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Pauls Funeral Home, 121 N. Penn, Oberlin 67749. Burial will be in Oberlin Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Goldie Dorson Memorial Fund.

Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday and after 8 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Ellen Gerhardt
VICTORIA — Ellen Gerhardt, 79, Victoria, died Thursday, Dec. 8, 2 005.

Mrs. Gerhardt was born Ellen Klaus on April 22, 1926, in Victoria. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by a grandson.

Survivors include her husband, August, of the home; three sons, Paul of Colorado Springs, Colo., Andy of Plainville and Frank of Victoria; two daughters, Mary Ruder of Edmond, Okla., and Theresa Hodnett; two brothers, Ben Klaus of Manhattan and Andrew Klaus of Hays; 10 grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Fidelis Catholic Church, Victoria. Burial will be in St. Fidelis Cemetery, Victoria.

A vigil will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at Cline’s Mortuary, 412 Main, Victoria 67671, followed by a St. Fidelis Christian Mothers rosary.

Memorials may be made to the church or Masses.

Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday and 8:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Monday, all at the mortuary.

Sylvester Holzmeister
QUINTER — Sylvester Holzmeister, 88, Quinter, died Friday, Dec. 9, 2005.

Mr. Holzmeister was born May 13, 1917, rural Bison, in Rush County. He was a farmer and a dairyman until retiring in 1979.

He was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter.

Survivors include his wife, Jenny, of the home; four sons, Donald and Daniel, both of Grinnell, Darrel of Oakley and Dwane of Grainfield; four brothers, Lawrence and Hubert, both of Quinter, Edwin of Hays and Abraham of Salina; two sisters, Frieda Waldman and Josephine Kuntz, both of Quinter; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Park. Burial will be at 1 p.m. in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Grinnell.

There will be a wake at 7 p.m. Sunday at the church.

A memorial fund will be designated later.

Mickey-Leopold Funeral Home, 1024 Sheridan Ave., Hoxie 67740, is handling arrangements.

Cloyde L. Houltberg
Cloyde L. Houltberg, 81, Salina, died Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2005.

Mr. Houltberg was born April 27, 1924, in Salina. He worked for Waddell Cadillac and Oard’s Auto Repair, Salina.

His wife, Faye L., died in 1968.

Survivors include a brother, Willis K. of Salina.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Emmanuel Christian Center, 1325 E. Cloud, Salina 67401. Inurnment will be in Roselawn Memorial Park.

Memorials may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.

There will be no visitation. The body was cremated.

Roselawn Mortuary, 1307 S. Santa Fe, Salina 67401, is handling arrangements.

Wayne W. Livingston
MINNEAPOLIS — Wayne W. Livingston, 85, Minneapolis, died Friday, Dec. 9, 2005.

Mr. Livingston was born March 14, 1920, in Salina. He was a self-employed painting contractor and operated a liquor store in Junction City.

Survivors include his wife, Hazel, of Minneapolis; two daughters, Connie Wilson of Salina and JoAnn Snell of Overland Park; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

There will be no visitation. Inurnment will be at a later date. The body was cremated.

Shields Funeral Home, 405 Argyle, Minneapolis 67467, is handling arrangements.

Marlene W. Nelson
ELLSWORTH — Marlene W. Nelson, 73, Ellsworth, died Thursday, Dec. 8, 2005.

Mrs. Nelson was born Marlene W. Harlow in Minneapolis. She was a retired head cook at USD 400, Marquette, retired operator for Westinghouse Lighting, Salina, and a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Wayne F., of Ellsworth; three daughters, Bonita J. DeWitt and husband Tom of Falun, Marita W. Grogg and husband George and Mary E. Marston and husband Murray, all of Ellsworth; a son, Donald W. Nelson and wife Susan of Paola; 13 grandchildren, Michelle Day, Shane DeWitt, Marti Lyne, Dwight Grogg, Cory Minear, Emily Nelson, Riley Nelson, Molly Nelson, Reece Nelson, Andy Marston, Ann Marston, Aaron Marston and Ashley Marston; and seven great-grandchildren, Heidi Lyne, Mariah Lyne, Carrie Lyne, Colton Grogg, Braden Grogg, Turner Day and Taran Day.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at United Methodist Church, Ellsworth, the Rev. Linda Toms officiating. Burial will be in Culver Union Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the church or United Methodist Youth.

Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Monday at Parsons Funeral Home, 307 N. Lincoln, Ellsworth 67439, and 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

Wilma Faye Spafford
CLAREMORE, Okla. — Wilma Faye Spafford, 78, Claremore, died Thursday, Dec. 8, 2005.

Mrs. Spafford was born Wilma Faye Kuhlmann on Dec. 14, 1926, in Chester, Neb. She was a secretary for the registered cattle business she and her husband were associated with.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen.

Survivors include a daughter, Amber Spafford of Kansas City, Kan.; two sisters, Lillian and Irene; and extended family.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 220 N. Seminole, Claremore 74017. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Oologah, Okla.

Memorials may be made to the church.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Rice Funeral Home, 631 E. Will Rogers Blvd., Claremore, OK 74017.

John William Terry III
John William Terry III, 45, Salina, died Monday, Dec. 5, 2005.

Mr. Terry was born Jan. 23, 1960, in New York City, the son of John Terry and the late Eunice Ann (Rasmussen) Rhodes. He attended Salina Area Vo-Tech and was a member of First Southern Baptist Church, Salina. He was an auto technician at Kansas Land Tire in Salina for six years and had worked at Schwan’s for 14 years. He married Hong Thong (Lertvilai) Terry on May 19, 1980, in Thailand.

Survivors include his wife; his father, John Terry, of Tescott; three daughters, Cristin Gueho of Turkey, and Cindy Terry and Heather Terry, both of Salina; a sister, Patty Walker of Garden City; a stepson, Yort Lertvilai of Thailand; his stepfather, Harold Rhodes of Minneapolis; and a granddaughter.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at First Southern Baptist Church, Salina. Private burial will be in Franklin Cemetery, Tescott.

Memorials may be made to First Southern Baptist Church for the usher/greeter ministry, 2401 S. Ohio, Salina.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at Carlson-Ford-Geisendorf Funeral Home, 500 S. Ohio, Salina, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Sunday.

Emma Townsend
GOODLAND — Emma Townsend, 97, Goodland, died Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2005.

Mrs. Townsend was born Emma Hlad on Nov. 4, 1908, in Goodland.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice; and two sons, Gary and Dean.

Survivors include a son, Richard of Goodland; two sisters, Alene Charles of Sterling, Colo., and Lillian Carter of Palmdale, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Mountain time today at First United Methodist Church, Goodland. Burial will be in Goodland Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Prairie Manor Good Samaritan Center.

Visitation will be before the service at the church.

Virginia Marie Vanek
CARNEIRO — Virginia Marie Vanek, 80, Carneiro, died Thursday, Dec. 8, 2005.

Mrs. Vanek was born Virginia Marie Walker on June 23, 1925, in Saline County. She was a retired Tupperware executive sales manager.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cirel, in 1997; a daughter, Nancy Sue, in 1988; and a grandson in 2004.

Survivors include four sons, Albert of Carneiro, Jim of Ellsworth, Mike of Kanopolis and Ernie of Junction City; a daughter, Evelyn Vanek of Salina; four brothers, Ray Walker, Don Walker and Bill Walker, all of Brookville, and Duane Walker of Canton; five sisters, Helen Pflughoeft of Ellsworth, Berneice Zimmerman of North Platte, Neb., Geri Elam, Ernestine Allen and Dixie Walker, all of Salina; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, Ellsworth. Burial will be in Carneiro Cemetery.

A vigil will be at 5 p.m. Sunday at Parsons Funeral Home, 307 N. Lincoln, Ellsworth 67439.

Memorials may be made to the church, Carneiro Webster Hall or Rolling Hills Wildlife Refuge.

Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Robert “Bob” H. Webb
Robert “Bob” H. Webb, 79, Salina, died Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2005.

Mr. Webb was born Robert Harold Webb on Nov. 16, 1926, in Quinter. He was the owner and operator of Webb Excavating.

Survivors include his wife, Kay, of the home; two sons, Benny and wife, Rhonda and Kenny, all of Columbus; a daughter, Shelley McDowell and husband, John of Salina; two stepdaughters, Cathy Johnson and husband Bill of Fulton, Mo., and Kim Crenshaw and husband Kevin of Goosecreek, S.C.; two brothers, Herbert and wife Marilyn of Albuquerque, N.M., and Jack of Marion; three sisters, Lois Webb, Irene Hannon and Nina Livingston, all of Salina; 12 grandchildren, Eric Timmons and wife Amanda of Salina, Bobby McDowell of Salina, John McDowell of Wichita, Jennifer Thompson and husband Shane of Missouri, Jaime Johnson of Missouri, Kevin and Kira Crenshaw, both of Goosecreek, S.C., and Shane, Jana, Kala, Danielle and Dustin Webb, all of Columbus; and five great-grandchildren, Tristian McDowell of Brookville and Daniel, Gabe, Moriah and Seth, all of Missouri.

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401.

Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association or Hospice of Salina.

There will be no visitation. The body was cremated.

Philip A. “Phil” Wilson
HASTINGS, Neb. — Philip A. “Phil” Wilson, 76, Hastings, died Thursday, Dec. 8, 2005.

Mr. Wilson was born Feb. 13, 1929, in Abilene. He was owner and operator of Wilson Case Co.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte, in 1996.

Survivors include two daughters, Liz Lech of Michigan and Sally Landis Wilson of Arizona; and a brother, Warren Wilson of Abilene.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church, Hastings. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings.

Memorials may be made to Perkins Good Samaritan Village or a charity of the donor’s choice.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today, 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday, at Butler-Volland Funeral Home, 1225 N. Elm Ave., Hastings 68901, where the family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to the service Monday at the church.

Arthur “Art” Ziegler
WaKEENEY — Arthur “Art” Ziegler, 91, WaKeeney, died Friday, Dec. 9, 2005.

Mr. Ziegler was born July 20, 1914, in Collyer. He was a farmer and stockman.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Augusta, in 2004; a son, Lawrence M.; and a daughter, Julia “Judy” Ziegler.

Survivors include two daughters, Joan Berens of WaKeeney and Martha Leibham of Quinter; nine grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Michael Catholic Church, Collyer. Burial will be in St. Michael Catholic Church Cemetery, Collyer.

A wake will be at 7 p.m Sunday at Schmitt Funeral Home, 336 N. 12th, WaKeeney 67672.

Jordie Ingrid Bogart
NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Jordie Ingrid Bogart, 76, North Hollywood, died Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2006.

Allan J. Busch
HAYS — Allan J. Busch, 85, Hays, died Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2006.

Mr. Busch was born July 4, 1920, in Quincy, Ill. He was an IRS special agent with the U.S. Treasury for 20 years, retiring in 1975.

His wife, Etta May, died in 1988.

Survivors include a son, Allan J. Jr. of Hays; a sister, Kathleen Kelly of Quincy; a grandson; and a great-granddaughter.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Zehender-Robinson-Stormer-Cookson Funeral Home, Quincy.

A prayer service will be at 7 p.m. today at Cline’s Mortuary of Hays, 1919 E. 22nd, Hays 67601.

Memorials may be made to Messiah Lutheran Church, Hays, or St. James Lutheran Church, Quincy.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the mortuary in Hays.
