Bachelor-Faulkner-Dart-Surber Funeral Home, Belleville, is handling arrangements.

Bonnie Jean Bollig
DALHART, Texas — Bonnie Jean Bollig, 75, Dalhart, formerly of Sherman County, Kan., died Saturday, July 1, 2006.

Mrs. Bollig was born Bonnie Jean Sylvester on June 13, 1931, in Goodland, Kan. She was a retired owner and operator of Uniques By Bonnie in Goodland.

Survivors include her husband, Alfred of Dalhart; a son, Tom of Overland Park, Kan.; three daughters, Mary Dalton of Palestine, Kathleen Lysford of Dalhart and Sara Bollig of Goodland; a sister, Darlene Rasure of Concordia; and five grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Mountain time Friday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Goodland. Burial will be in Goodland Cemetery.

A vigil and rosary will be at 6 p.m. Mountain time Thursday at Koons Funeral Home Chapel, 211 N. Main, Goodland, KS 67735.

Memorials may be made to the church or Genesis.

Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Mountain time Thursday at the funeral home and before the service at the church.

Wayne D. Breese
JUNCTION CITY — Wayne D. Breese, 73, rural Junction City, died Sunday, July 2, 2006.

Mr. Breese was born Oct. 22, 1932, in Barnes. He was a heavy equipment operator for more than 34 years at Fort Riley, retiring in 1987.

He was preceded in death by a son, Bobby.

Survivors include his wife, Marlene, of the home; a son, Jimmy of White City; three daughters, Christina Paulson of Rupert, Idaho, Vickie Mathis of Oklahoma City and Jackie Breese of Junction City; a sister, Bonnie Hird of Junction City; a brother, Leroy of Wichita; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Parkerville Baptist Church, Parkerville. Burial will be in Skiddy Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the church, in care of Londeen Funeral Chapel, Box 429, Chapman 67431.

Max E. Carr
MARION — Max E. Carr, 85, Marion, died Sunday, July 2, 2006.

Mr. Carr was born June 16, 1921, in Aulne. He was self-employed in construction.

He was preceded in death by a grandson.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda, of the home; seven sons, William A. of Jetmore, Thomas E. of Wichita, Max E. Jr. of Andover, James R. of Hillsboro, and David A., Patrick L. and Michael W., all of Marion; three daughters, Jeanne L. Higgins of Prescott, Ariz., Susan K. Wheeler of Wichita and Nancy C. Day of Valley Center.; a sister, Gladys L. Knapp of Marion; 30 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Eastmoor United Methodist Church, Marion. Burial will be in Marion Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the church or St. Luke Hospital Foundation. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Zeiner Funeral Home, 205 Elm, Marion 66861.

Winifred Grace “Babe” Castela
ABILENE — Winifred Grace “Babe” Castela, 88, Abilene, died Sunday, July 2, 2006.

Mrs. Castela was born Winifred Grace Leshovsky on Aug. 12, 1917, in Republic County. She was a legal secretary in the Bakersfield, Calif., area. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gabriel, in 2001.

Survivors include a son, Henri E. Castela of Florida; a daughter, Gabrielle M. Terrel of Nevada; her caregiver, Linda Rist of Abilene; and several grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Abilene. Inurnment will be in Tabor Cemetery, Munden.

Memorials may be made to Abilene Area Hospice or the church, in care of Danner Funeral Home, 501 N. Buckeye, Box 758, Abilene 67410.

There will be no visitation.

Orrin Dale Ehlers
WEBBER — Orrin Dale Ehlers, 75, Webber, died Sunday, July 2, 2006.

Mr. Ehlers was born Oct. 16, 1930, in Deshler, Neb. He was a farmer and worked at Stateline Station, south of Superior, Neb.

Survivors include his wife, Hope, of Webber; six sons, Dale of Marion, Dean, Delton and Dalane, all of Superior, Darwin of Webber and Davon of Fairfield, Neb.; five daughters, Jaquetta Morgan of Lincoln, Neb., Jalonda Bouray of Webber, Jarinda Sudbeck of Fordyce, Neb., Janetta Rogers of Wilber, Neb., and Jaletta Nondorf of Superior; four sisters, Thelma Wight of Boring, Ore., Louise Thurber of Edgar, Neb., Vivian Schleif of Grand Island, Neb., and Opal Johnson of Port Charlotte, Fla.; three brothers, Melvin Laverne of Hebron, Neb., Cecil of Las Vegas and Wesley of Hastings, Neb.; 23 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel, 750 N. Commercial, Superior, NE 68978. Burial will be in Webber Cemetery, Webber.

Memorials may be made to the family’s choice.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Wednesday at the funeral home.

Gwendolyn Aileen Gibson
NORTON — Gwendolyn Aileen Gibson, 83, Norton, died Sunday, July 2, 2006.

Mrs. Gibson was born Gwendolyn Aileen Maddy on Dec. 2, 1922, in Phillips County. She was co-owner and operator of a restaurant for many years in Edmond.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence, in 1996.

Survivors include two sons, Gary of Salina and Dennis of Andover; two brothers, Leon Maddy of Riverside, Calif., and James Maddy of Norton; and four grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Enfield Funeral Home, 215 W. Main, Norton. Burial will be in Edmond Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Norton Cares and the Andbe Home.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Judy Godwin
McPHERSON — Judy Godwin, 57, McPherson, died Sunday, July 2, 2006.

Mrs. Godwin was born Judy Hill on March 25, 1949, in McPherson. She was a secretary at McPherson Fire Department.

Survivors include her husband, Jim “Bama,” of the home; two sons, Matt A. of Chicago and Mike L. of McPherson; two stepdaughters, Christy Gibson and Jennifer Godwin, both of Robertsdale, Ala.; a stepson, Randy Godwin of Foley, Ala.; her mother, Betty M. Hill of McPherson; two sisters, Joanne K. Foster of Dallas and Jeannie E. Greischar of Overland Park; a brother, Jon M. Hill of Alva, Okla.; and 13 grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church, McPherson. Burial will be in McPherson Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Firemen’s Benefit Fund, McPherson, in care of Glidden-Ediger Funeral Home, 222 W. Euclid, McPherson 67460.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

Dona Sue Green, 72, Salina, died Sunday, July 2, 2006.

James Michael David Larson
OCALA, Fla. — James Michael David Larson, 19, Ocala, died June 24, 2006.

Mr. Larson was born in Salina, Kan. He worked for his parents at Doug’s Auction Center, Belleview.

Survivors include his parents, Doug and Tina Tanuis of Ocala; two sisters, Ashley Tanuis and Megan Tanuis of Ocala; a brother, Douglas Tanuis II of Ocala; his grandmothers, Starletta Keenan and Barbara Tanuis, both of Salina; and his fiancee, Brittney Ramsey of Ocala.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Banks/Page-Theus Funeral Home Chapel, 410 N. Webster, Wildwood, FL 34785.

The family will receive friends one hour before the service.

Muriel A. Lindenmuth
Muriel A. Lindenmuth, 88, Salina, died Monday, July 3, 2006.

Edward P. Meenen
CLAY CENTER — Edward P. Meenen, 93, Clay Center, died Saturday, July 1, 2006.

Mr. Meenen was born Oct, 8, 1912, in Clay County. He was a farmer and stockman.

He was preceded in death by his wives, Bertha in 1991 and Bernice in 1999.

Survivors include a stepson, David Chartier of Great Bend; two stepgrandchildren; and three stepgreat-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church, Clay Center. Burial will be in Riverdale Cemetery, Clay County.

PHILLIPSBURG — Gladys Pfost, 89, Phillipsburg, died Sunday, July 2, 2006.

Mrs. Pfost was born Gladys Pembridge on Dec. 2, 1916, in Phillips County. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wade, in 1990.

Survivors include two sisters, Iva Jarvis and Alice Chance, both of Phillipsburg.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at United Methodist Church, Phillipsburg. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Phillipsburg.

Memorials may be made to the organization of the donor’s choice.

Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. today at Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, 1115 Second, Phillipsburg 67661, where the family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m.

Leroy H. Schaefer
LINN — Leroy H. Schaefer, 78, Linn, died Sunday, July 2, 2006.

Mr. Schaefer was born Nov. 21, 1927. He was a dairy farmer and a food accountant for 23 years with the Linn School District.

Survivors include his wife, Lila, of Linn; four sons, Neil of McKinney, Texas, Keith of Linn, Roger of Jansen, Neb., and Gary of Leonardville; a sister, Eva Helms of Linn; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchilden. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Zion Lutheran Church, Linn. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Linn.

Memorials have been established.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Ward Funeral Home, 418 Fourth, Linn 66953.

Lyle Clark Shaffer
LOUISBURG — Lyle Clark Shaffer, 90, Louisburg, died Saturday, July 1, 2006.

Mr. Shaffer was born Jan. 5, 1916, in Gridley. He and his wife operated a motel in Salina from 1964 to 1977.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie, in 2002.

Survivors include three sons, Bill of Drexel, Mo., Ardeene of Joplin, Mo., and Larry of Overbrook.

A memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Jones Funeral Home, 801 Garrettson, Box 277, Burlington 66839.

Memorials may be made to First Christian Church, Burlington.

Leland R. Unruh
GALVA — Leland R. Unruh, 88, Galva, died Sunday, July 2, 2006.

Mr. Unruh was born Feb. 11, 1918, in rural Galva. He was a retired cabinet builder for Detroiter Mobile Homes, Hutchinson. He also owned Unruh Locker Plant and Unruh Mobile Home Park, both of Galva.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen L., in 2005.

Survivors include a son, Randall L. of Galva, a daughter, Sandra Unruh of Galva; a brother, Gano of Galva; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Empire Cemetery, Galva.

Memorials may be made to Galva Christian Church, Galva Senior Center or Friends of Maxwell.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Stockham Family Funeral Home, 205 N. Chestnut, McPherson 67460, where the family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m.

Louis E. “Luke” Watts
NILES — Louis E. “Luke” Watts, 72, Niles, died Saturday, July 1, 2006. Mr. Watts was born June 28, 1934, in Minneapolis.

He was a retired welder for Great Plains Manufacturing, Salina.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter.

Survivors include his wife, Alice M., of Niles; a son, James Michael Douglas of Manassas, Va.; a daughter, Michelle Marie Husted of Bennington; and five grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Minneapolis Scout Hall. Memorials may be made to Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks or the charity of the donor’s choice.

There will be no visitation. The body was cremated.

Shields Funeral Home, 405 Argyle, Minneapolis 67467, is handling arrangements.

Jerry Edwin Willis
RUSSELL — Jerry Edwin Willis, 56, Russell, died Sunday, July 2, 2006. Mr. Willis was born May 25, 1950, in Altus, Ark. He operated JW Trucking, Clarksville, Ark., retiring in 2001.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Audra Lyn Willis.

Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Ruth, of the home; a daughter, Amy Dollison of Russell; his parents, Ed and Lucille Willis of Knoxville, Ark; two sisters, Marilyn Atchison of Fayetteville, Ark., and Janace Doughan of Gore, Okla.; and two grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Trinity United Methodist Church, Russell. Burial will be in Russell City Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Jerry Willis Memorial Fund.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, 610 N. Maple, Russell 67665, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
