DURHAM — Delores Marie Richert, 76, Durham, died Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2006.

Jost Funeral Home, Hillsboro, is handling arrangements.

Pat K. Rogers
STOCKTON — Pat K. Rogers, 54, rural Stockton, died Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2006.

Mrs. Rogers was born Pat K. Cherry on April 26, 1952, in Stockton. She was a homemaker and farmer.

Survivors include her husband, John “Will,” of the home; two daughters, Chandra Slack of Walsenburg, Colo., and Jessica Rogers of Topeka; a son, John of Stockton; her father, Wallace Cherry, of Larned; her mother, Dorothy Jordan, of Great Bend; two brothers, Bill Calvert of Farmington, N.M., and Sonny Cherry of Stockton; a sister, Penny Lohr of Pawnee Rock; and a granddaughter.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Smith-Moore-Overlease Funeral Home, 723 N. First, Stockton 67669. Inurnment will be in Stockton Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Hays Medical Center Home Health and Hospice, in care of the funeral home.

Friends may sign the register book from 1 to 8 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to service time Friday at the funeral home.

Brett A. White
LOS ANGELES — Brett A. White, 60, Los Angeles, died April 29, 2006.

Mr. White was born April 22, 1946, in Russell, Kan. He was vice president of broadcast standards for Capital Cities/ABC.

Survivors include two brothers, Dan of Houston and Ward of Washington, D.C.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Russell City Cemetery. There will be no visitation. The body was cremated.

A memorial service was held June 10 at Wilshire Christian Church, Los Angeles.

Memorials may be made to the Russell Regional Hospital and the American Lung Association, in care of Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, 610 N. Maple, Russell 67665.

Ronald Wayne Woodcock
Ronald Wayne Woodcock, 53, Salina, died Sunday, Sept. 3, 2006.

Mr. Woodcock was born May 15, 1953, in Salina. He was a retired area supervisor at Philips/Conoco.

Survivors include two daughters, Christine Woodcock of Salina and Maggie Woodcock of Wichita; a brother, Richard of Salina; and a grandson.

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home, 500 S. Ohio, Salina 67401.

Memorials may be made to the Family Education Fund, 217 E. Jewell, Salina.

Ronald E. Ahlstrom
Ronald E. Ahlstrom, 71, Salina, died Thursday, Oct. 19, 2006.

Ryan Mortuary, Salina, is handling arrangements.

Joseph Blubaugh
PHILLIPSBURG — Joseph Blubaugh, 96, Phillipsburg, died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2006.

Mr. Blubaugh was born Feb. 1, 1910, in Clyde, Okla. He was a catalytic unit operator at Phillipsburg Refinery.

His wife, Melva, died in 1989.

Survivors include four sons, Jim of Everett, Wash., Tom of Topeka, and Dan and Dee, both of Phillipsburg; two daughters, Teresa Hall of Wichita and Jean Maninger of Paris, Texas; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Sts. Philip and James Catholic Church, Phillipsburg. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Phillipsburg.

A vigil and rosary will be at 7 p.m. today at Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, 1115 Second, Phillipsburg 67661.

Memorials will be established.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Helen Grace Brubaker
BIRD CITY — Helen Grace Brubaker, 82, Bird City, died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2006.

Miss Brubaker was born March 5, 1924, in Lawrence.

A memorial service will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Immanuel United Methodist Church, Bird City. Burial will be at a later date in Bird City Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the church or Bird City Library.

There will be no visitation. The body was cremated.

Lois Ruth Dizmang
GOODLAND — Lois Ruth Dizmang, 77, Goodland, died Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2006.

Mrs. Dizmang was born Lois Ruth Kemp on Aug. 8, 1929, in Ruleton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam; and a daughter, Roxane.

Survivors include a son, Rodney of Garden City; three daughters, Rogene Mahoney of Oklahoma City, Rochelle Peters of Louisburg and Ronette Rosenow of Lee’s Summit, Mo.; two brothers, Willard Kemp of Fort Collins, Colo., and Wayne Kemp of Plant City, Fla.; a sister, Leona Schultz of Independence, Iowa; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Mountain time Monday at Koons Chapel, 211 N. Main, Goodland 67735. Burial will be in Goodland Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Sarcoma Foundation of America.

Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Mountain time Sunday at the funeral home, where the family will be present.

Betty Lou Elliott
TOPEKA — Betty Lou Elliott, 66, Topeka, died Thursday, Oct. 19, 2006.

Mrs. Elliott was born Betty Lou Butrick on Dec. 2, 1939, in Kansas City, Kan. She had worked at Fidelity Bank and Sheltered Living.

Survivors include a daughter, Claudia L. Chatham of Topeka; two sons, Bruce E. of Blue Springs, Mo., and Brian A. of St. Louis; a sister, Anna Belle Wiles of Kansas City, Kan.; a brother, John R. Butrick of Allentown, Pa.; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 N.W. Independence, Topeka 66608. Cremation will follow.

Memorials may be made to the Betty L. Elliott Memorial Fund, 7235 N.E. Silver Road, Topeka 66617.

Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today at the funeral chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Charles Kenneth Fowler
MILTONVALE — Charles Kenneth Fowler, 88, Miltonvale, formerly of Salina, died Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2006.

Mr. Fowler was born May 2, 1918, in Augusta. He was a truck driver.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred, in 2005; three sons, Donald, Dean and Steaven; and an infant son.

Survivors include three sons, Phillip of Miltonvale, Jim of Salina and David of Hickory, N.C.; a daughter, Patricia Thayer of Salina; a brother, Gilbert of El Dorado; 21 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Salina.

Roland C. Geyer
OVERLAND PARK — Roland C. Geyer, 91, Overland Park, formerly of Salina, died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2006.

Mr. Geyer was born April 12, 1915, in Shady Bend. He attended high school in Lincoln. He married Shirley Arline Tozier in 1940. He worked in agriculture-related activities in Lincoln County.

In 1943, he was drafted into the U.S. Army and was sent to the European Theater. On D-Day, he was the first soldier off of his landing craft and landed on Utah Beach in France. He served under Gen. Patton and fought in Europe until the war ended.

He owned the Geyer Implement Co. in Sylvan Grove for many years and semi- retired to Salina in 1980. He and his wife enjoyed playing in a dance band for many years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley; his parents, Olga and Emil; a brother, LeRoy; and a sister, Marguerite.

Survivors include three daughters, Pamela Geyer of Houston, Sherry Richardson of Euless, Texas, and Joanne Ringle of Des Moines, Iowa; a son, Richard of Shawnee; and three grandchildren, Aaron Hertzmann of Toronto, Canada, Christopher Geyer of Shawnee and Alana Geyer of Sacramento, Calif.

The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401. Burial will be in Beverly Cemetery, Beverly.

Memorials may be made to the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the mortuary.

Stephen Laurel Horner
McPHERSON — Stephen Laurel Horner, 59, McPherson, died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2006.

Mr. Horner was born July 26, 1947, in Elkhart, Ind. He was an assistant shipping manager for Central Service and later a plastic-pipe salesman.

He was preceded in death by a son, Troy.

Survivors include three daughters, Stephanie A. Horner of Lawrence and Shelley L. Horner and Stevie L. Horner, both of McPherson; two sons, Todd K. Klindenist and Brett C. Horner of Eudora; and two sisters, Beverly A. Bryant of Elkhart, Ind., and Mary Lou Hagler of Lenoir, N.C.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, McPherson. Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery, Canton.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Stephen L. Horner Memorial Fund.

Visitation will be from noon to service time Saturday at the church.

Glidden-Ediger Funeral Home, 222 W. Euclid, McPherson 67460, is handling arrangements.

Larry Eugene Kleiber
LEHIGH — Larry Eugene Kleiber, 59, Lehigh, died Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2006.

Mr. Kleiber was born Jan. 31, 1947, in Hillsboro. He was a farmer.

Survivors include two sons, Timothy D. of Olathe and Michael D. of Kansas City; a daughter, Stacie Rae Perry of Pittsburg; a brother, Mike of rural Hillsboro; a sister, Jayne Boggs of McPherson; and three grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Mennonite Church, Hillsboro. Burial will be in Lewis Cemetery, west of Ramona.

Memorials may be made to the church or the grandchildren’s scholarship fund.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Jost Funeral Home, 401 S. Washington, Hillsboro 67063.

Jewell D. Lorenson
EL DORADO — Jewell D. Lorenson, 73, El Dorado, died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2006.

Mrs. Lorenson was born Jewell Snyder on Sept. 23, 1933, in Brookville. She was a secretary for Lorenson Industries for 31 years, retiring in 1998.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter.

Survivors include three sons, Craigery, Bryan and Vaughn Lorenson; two daughters, Kathlyne Spurgeon and Kristin Eitel; a brother, J. Elliot Snyder; 15 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Falun Lutheran Church.

Memorials may be made to Harry Hynes Hospice, in care of Kirby-Morris Funeral Home, 224 W. Ash, El Dorado 67042.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the church.

Esther Miller
OBERLIN — Esther Miller, 96, Oberlin, died Thursday, Oct. 19, 2006.

Mrs. Miller was born Esther Hix on May 18, 1910, in Norton County. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Weldon; and a granddaughter.

Survivors include three sons, Richard of Mission, Texas, Gary of Oberlin and Michael of Prairie Village; a sister, Merle Shirley of Oberlin; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Pauls Funeral Home, 121 N. Penn, Oberlin 67749. Burial will be in Norcatur Cemetery, Norcatur.

Memorials may be made to Norcatur News Sheet, Norcatur Cemetery Fund and Norcatur Citizens Alliance.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and 8 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Rose Roth
CLYDE — Rose Roth, 58, Clyde, died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2006.

Mrs. Roth was born Rose Bailey on June 24, 1948, in Kansas City, Kan. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Lee.

Survivors include a daughter, Virginia Roth of Clyde; a son, William of Pearland, Texas; and six grandchildren.

The service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Miltonvale Bible Methodist Church, Miltonvale.

Memorials may be made to Rose Roth Memorial Fund, in care of Virginia Roth.

There will be no visitation. The body was cremated.
