Janice Ann Jukes
Hutchinson, Kan. - Janice Ann Jukes, 52, died Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009, in Hutchinson.
She was born in McPherson on May 30, 1956, the daughter of Wilferd “Bill” and Mary Ida (Haag) Loewen.
She graduated from McPherson High School in 1974 and attended the University of Kansas in Lawrence and graduated from Augsburg College in St. Paul, Minn.
She moved to Hutchinson in 1983 and was the Meals on Wheels of Reno County director and a piano teacher.
She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Hutchinson and served as the choir pianist.
She was united in marriage to Steven L. Jukes on July 8, 1978, at McPherson. He died on March 23, 1987.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her father-in-law, Norman Jukes.
Survivors include: a daughter, Kristen Jukes of Topeka; parents Bill and Mary Ida Loewen of McPherson; sister Glenna Balsick of McPherson; mother-in-law Darlene Jukes of McPherson; and nieces Sydney Balsick and Jenna Balsick, both of McPherson.
Funeral services will be at Trinity United Methodist Church in Hutchinson at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, 2009, with Rev. Ron Kite and Rev. Brent Clayton officiating.
Burial will be at the New Gottland Lutheran Church cemetery in rural McPherson, with Pastor Les Cantrell officiating.
Friends are invited to call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, with family present from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Glidden-Ediger Chapel in McPherson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels of Reno County, Hutchinson; Faith United Methodist Church in Hutchinson; or the Hutchinson Fire Department and can be sent in care of Glidden-Ediger Funeral Home, 222 W. Euclid St., McPherson, KS 67460.

Joy A. Winsinger
Moundridge, Kan. - Joy A. Winsinger, 93, died Tuesday, Feb.10, 2009, at the Bethesda Home, Goessel. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, " Bill" of Goessel; one brother, Junior Stucky, of Hutchinson; two sisters, Jane McElhiney of McPherson, and Joan Ensz of Newton. Funeral service will be Saturday, Feb. 14, at 10:30 a.m. at the Moundridge Funeral Home Chapel, Moundridge. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be given to the Salvation Army, in care of the funeral home.

Linda Sue Watson
RUSSELL - Linda Sue Watson, 56, died Saturday, May 23, 2009 at her home.
She cooked for several establishments and was a bartender.
Survivors include: daughter, Tammy Pellant; grandson, Colton; brother, Willis Watson, Jr.; sister, Kathy Watson; sister, Barbara Sheldon; companion, Terry Tyfault.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 27.
A memeorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 28, at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary in Russell.
Memorials may be given to Southwind Hospice and may be sent in care of the mortuary.

David O. Frazer
Moundridge, Kan. - David O. Frazer, 68, died July 28 at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, Wichita.
He was the former owner of the Moundridge Food Market and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
He is survived by his wife, Gale, Moundridge; sons, Randy Frazer and Shawn Frazer, both of Moundridge; daughter, Amy Jantzen, Moundridge; father, Clarence A. Frazer, Syracuse; sisters, Judy Shafer, Tribune and Harriet Riley, Syracuse; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret “Peggy” Herndon Frazer.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the West Zion Mennonite Church, Moundridge.
Visitation will be today at the Moundridge Funeral Home, Moundridge, from 4-8 p.m. with the family present from 6-8 p.m. The committal service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in the Syracuse Cemetery, Syracuse.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Moundridge Senior Center, in care of the funeral home.

Marcus Leon Gregory
Buhler, Kan. - Marcus Leon Gregory, 79, died Feb. 2, 2009.
He was employed as a teacher at Cleveland Elementary School in Cleveland, Okla., and taught at Grandview Elementary School in Hutchinson. He entered the sign and graphic art business in 1954, and founded Gregory Sign Advertising in Hutchinson with his wife in 1956. The company was renamed Gregory Inc. and moved to Buhler in 1973.
Survivors include: wife, Dorothy; four sons: Mark of Buhler; Tim, of Springfield, Mo.; Jonathan of Lincoln, Neb.; David of Cornelius, N.C.; daughter, Sarah Kuykendall of Enid, Okla.; two brothers: Clair of Barnsdall, Okla.; Ted of Bartlesville, Okla.; sister Lois Joy Kuhn of Bartlesville; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Buhler Mennonite Brethren Church with Pastors Brent Warkentin, Bruce Porter and Phil Clements presiding. Burial will be in Buhler East Cemetery. Visitation is from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., with family greeting friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday at Buhler Mortuary.
Memorials may be sent to Buhler Mennonite Brethern Church of Buhler Sunshine Home, in care of Buhler Mortuary, 120 N. Main St., Buhler, KS, 67522.

Rosemary D. Dragastin
LENEXA - Rosemary D. Dragastin, 85, Lenexa, KS, passed away Thursday, Feb. 5, 2009, at Brookdale Senior Living, Wichita. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 9, at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church; burial in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Kansas City. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Sunday at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee, where a rosary recitation will be at 4 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 13520 W. 92nd, Lenexa, KS 66215.
Rosemary was born Dec. 23, 1923, in Kansas City to William and Mary (Vogrin) Deitchman. On September 1, 1951, Rosemary married Fred Dragastin at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Kansas City. Rosemary and Fred moved to Lenexa in 1979 and became members of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. She was employed with the U.S. Magistrate in Kansas City until her retirement.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred, on March 16, 1992. Survivors include: her children and their spouses, Joan and Gary Adelhardt, Nashville, Janet and Fred Seiler, Inman, Dr. Tom and Denise Dragastin, Washington, Mark and Beverly Dragastin, Virginia, Neb., and Neal Dragastin, London, Ohio; sister, Jean Kiddoo, Edina Minn.; eight grandchildren, Justin, Brooke, Nichole, Jodi, Kaycee, Sarah, Cody and Lauren; and one great grandson, Max.

Tresia Lucile Hogan
Marquette, Kan. - Tresia Lucile Hogan, 88, died Friday, Feb. 5, 2009, at the Riverview Estates in Marquette.
She was a cosmetician . Survivors include: two daughters, Leigh Bradbury, Abilene, and Kathy Bohlander, Oklahoma City, Okla. Graveside services will be Monday at 1 p.m. in the Mound Township Cemetery, Moundridge. Friends may call Sunday from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. at the Moundridge Funeral Home, Moundridge

Anita René Wedel
Elizabeth, Colo. - ELIZABETH, Colo.- Anita René Wedel of Elizabeth, Colo., passed away May 25, 2009, at St. Anthony’s Central Hospital in Denver, Colo., from injuries in a motorcycle accident in the Colorado mountains where she so much enjoyed living her free and loving life with her family and friends.
As a family, it was Anita that we all depended upon for guidance. She was a very determined person- if she didn’t know the answer, she would figure a way to find it and if you told her it could not be done, she would find a way to get it done. She never met a stranger and would find something good in everyone. Anita was a loving Mother and a gourmet cook, which was proven by the fact that the family always gathered in the kitchen.
Anita is the loving daughter of Lorenz “Curly” and Juanita Redger of McPherson, born Oct. 2, 1962. In 1983, she married Robert Unruh of Galva. Three children were born to this union: son- Brandon Lee and wife, Margarita, of Denver, Colo.; daughter- Kristy Jo Rene Moore and husband, Scott, of Kiowa, Colo,; son- Kyle Allen Unruh of Galva. In 1993, Anita married Troy Wedel of McPherson. One daughter, Meghan Dawn, was born to this union. Anita has one grandson, Morgen Eugene Hubbs of Elizabeth, Colo., son of Kristy Jo.
Anita was preceded in death by her grandparents- Alfred and Gladys Heim of Canton and Neal and Marie Redger of Durham.
Anita spent the last 13 years of her life in Colorado, including nine years as an accounting supervisor for URS Corporation in Denver, where she has touched many lives and loved her work.

Ruth Wenger
HILLSBORO -- Ruth Wenger, 90, of Hillsboro, died Wednesday, April 30, 2008, at Salem Nursing Home in Hillsboro.
She was a farmer.
She is survived by her son, Cecil Wenger of Manhattan; her daughters, Jeanenne Koslowsky of Mesa, Ariz., Beverly Pack of Athens, Ala.; her sisters, Mary Thiessen of Hillsboro, Helen Thiessen of Hillsboro and Lydia McDonald of Tulsa, Okla.; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Wenger and her infant son, Gerald Wenger.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until the time of service on Friday at Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church, Hillsboro.
The funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church. A private intermenty will follow.
Memorials are suggested to Salem Nursing Home in care of Jost Funeral Home, Hillsboro.

Helen Curry Matson
McPherson, Kan. - Helen passed away on January 28, 2009, at the age of 103. Helen was born in Winchester, Kansas, on January 13, 1906, to John Edward Curry and Catherine Swoyer. Both her parents died while Helen was in high school. She graduated from the University of Kansas and did graduate work there and at the University of California. She taught high school English in the McPherson school system for 35 years. She met her future husband, Edwin Matson, when she began teaching in McPherson. They were married for 48 years and had one son, John, who predeceased Helen in 2002.
Ed and Helen took early retirement to travel. They traveled abroad as well as visiting every state in the Union. They retired in California, where Helen resided.
Helen was an avid bridge player who enjoyed the game well into her 90s. She was determined to live to be 100 and she more than succeeded in her endeavor.
Helen always said that her greatest thrill was seeing her son argue a case before the United States Supreme Court.
Helen is survived by her daughter-in-law, Jane, of Greenwich, CT, her two grandchildren, Morgan and Jason and his wife, Amanda Mierzwa, all of New York City.
A memorial service will be held in Helen’s honor on February 6, 2009 at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, in Newport Beach, CA with a reception following at Regent’s Point, in Irvine, CA.
Donations can be made to the John Matson Memorial Scholarship Fund, to benefit McPherson High School students, in care of Smith Barney in Pasadena, CA 91101.

Robert “Bob” Frost
McPherson, Kan. - Robert “Bob” Frost, 89, died Monday, Aug. 18, 2008, at McPherson Memorial Hospital.
He was a driller at Blackstone Drilling and served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include: wife, Arminda Jane Frost, McPherson; nieces Connie Obermueller of Wichita and Dixie Koehn of Galva; and a nephew, Todd Edwards of Dallas, Texas.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008, at Glidden-Ediger Chapel in McPherson with Pastor Robert H. Park officiating.
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Udall Cemetery in Udall.
Friends are invited to call from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2008, at the Glidden-Ediger Chapel in McPherson.
The family request donations be sent to the American Diabetes Association or American Heart Association, both in care of Glidden-Ediger Funeral Home, 222 W. Euclid St., McPherson, KS 67460.
