Jacqueline Marie Coy 58, of Columbus, KS died 6:27am Thursday April
1, 2010 at her home following a long illness.
Jacqueline was born January 13, 1952 in Columbus, KS the daughter of
George Calvin and Thelma Pearl (Humphrey) Hill. She lived in the area
most all her life graduating from area schools.
On April 4, 1969 she married Larry Coy in Columbus, KS; he survives at
the home.
Jacqueline worked as a Teacher’s Aide, an assistant at Al Bieber’s Law
office in Columbus, KS, SEKAP and 20 years as an office assistant with
Columbus SRS.
Jacqueline was a lifetime member of the Church of God of Prophecy in
Columbus, KS which is now known as Victory Life Church of God; she
enjoyed flowers, gardening, collecting angels, crocheting, fishing,
camping and loved being a grandma.
Survivors include her husband, sons Nathan Coy of Branson, MO,
Christopher Coy and wife Cathi of Kirkland, WA; siblings Beverly
Richardson of Arkansas City, KS, Barbara Wright of Mindenmines, MO
and Sharon Matson of Girard, KS; and a grandson Nicholas Coy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Icle Tiffany, brother
David Hill Sr. and two infant sisters Jewel Delight and Joan Delight and
infant grand-daughter Faith AnnMarie Coy.
Funeral Services will be 10am Wednesday April 7, 2010 at the Bath-
Naylor Funeral Home in Columbus, KS with Pastor Randy Arnold
officiating. Burial will follow at the Lone ElmCemeteryin Rural Columbus,
KS. Family will receive friends from 7-8pm Tuesday April 6, 2010 at the
Funeral Home in Columbus, KS. Friends may call after 2pm on
Tuesday. In lieu of flowers the family ask expressions of sympathy be in
the form of memorials to the Victory Life Church of God in Columbus,
KS. Friends may drop off or mail memorials to 611 S. East Ave.
Columbus, KS 66725.

Columbus, KS.

Florence E. Guison (Helms), 101 of Scammon died at 11:47 a.m.
Thursday April 1, 2010 at the Via Christi Village Nursing Facility in
Pittsburg.
She was born March 2, 1909 in Stone City, KS the daughter of Ark
Edward and Virginia Bell (Tarter) Helms. She was a lifetime resident of
the Scammon area and was a graduate of Scammon High School.
Florence married Fernand (Frenchie) Guison Jr. on January 9, 1927 in
Joplin, MO; he preceded her in death on January 29, 1976.
She was an LPN working for Maude Norton Memorial Hospital until her
retirement, and prior to that she worked as a Telephone Operator in
Scammon.
Florence was a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star,
Maudies Ladies, Pinochle Club, she was the 2008 queen of Little Balkan’
s, she enjoyed extensive traveling and going to the casino’s.
Survivors include her daughter Mary Johnson of Scammon, KS;
daughter-in-law Jean (Haymore) Guison; 21 Grandchildren and over 150
Great and Great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her
parents, husband, 2 sons Francis and Jean Guison; 2 daughters Irma
Groves and Flora Jane Babcock McCormick; 5 Grandchildren; 1 sister
Eva Lanning and 6 brothers Alvia, Arley, Dewey, Virgil, Cecil and Burnice
Helms.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday April 6, 2010 at the Bath-
Naylor Funeral Home in Weir Services will be conducted by the
grandchildren. Burial will follow in the EdgmandCemeteryin Columbus.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home
where friends may call after noon on Monday. Condolences can be

Molly Copeland 95, of Girard, KS died 8:45pm Wednesday March 31,
2010 at Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg, KS following a brief illness.
Molly was born February 27, 19 15 in West Mineral, KS the daughter of
Martin and Mary (Suster) Oberzan. She attended and graduated from
area schools in West Mineral, KS.
On December 30, 19 37 she married James J. Copeland in West Mineral,
KS; he preceded her in death on January 29, 1991. Molly was a
homemaker. Molly was a member of the St. Michael’s Catholic Church in
Girard, KS and a former member of the Episcopal Church in Pittsburg,
KS ; she was a member of the Girard Bowling League since 1967,
Holiday Lanes Women’s League and Bridge Club. She also enjoyed
golfing at Pittsburg and Girard golf courses.
Survivors include son Jim Copeland and wife Laurie of Jensen Beach,
FL; grandson Michael Copeland and wife Malania of Onalaska, WI ;
great-grandchildren Robert and Olivia Copeland; and many nieces,
nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and 12 brothers and
sisters.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10am Tuesday April 6, 2010 at the St.
Michael’s Catholic Church in Girard, KS with Fr. Carney officiating.
Burial will follow at the Highland ParkCemeteryin Pittsburg, KS. Rosary
will be recited at 7:00pm Monday April 5, 2010 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral
Home in Pittsburg, KS. Friends may call after 12pm on Monday. E-mail

Shelley Lynn (Watson) Hale, 41 of Pittsburg died at 10:18 a.m.
Wednesday March 31, 2010 at her home following a six month illness.
She was born July 18, 1968 in Pittsburg, KS the daughter of Dennis
and Carole (Lambert) Watson. She was a lifetime resident of the
Pittsburg area. She attended Pittsburg elementary schools, was a
graduate of Pittsburg High School; received her BS in Elementary
Education, her MS in Education and her Specialists Eds. Degree in
education all from Pittsburg State University.
Shelley married Doug Hale on April 14, 1990 in Pittsburg; he survives
at the home.
She was a school teacher currently working for USD 250 at the Middle
School as a Reading Coordinator. She has been with USD 250 for the
past 6 years and prior to that she taught at Galena Middle School.
Shelley was a member of the Countryside Christian Church in
Pittsburg. A member of the KNEA and while attending South Broadway
Baptist Church she was involved in Youth Leadership.
Survivors include her husband Doug of the home; a son Cameron
Hale; a daughter Lexi Hale both of the home; her parents Dennis and
Carole Watson of Pittsburg; 2 sisters Shannon Watson and Shay Sievert
both of Pittsburg. She was preceded in death by her maternal and
paternal grandparents and an infant daughter Scarlett Elizabeth Hale.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday April 3, at the Countryside
Christian Church in Pittsburg with Reverend Dan Muter officiating. Burial
will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. The family will receive
friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg
where friends may call after noon on Friday. Condolences can be sent

made to an educational scholarship fund for Shelley and Doug’s children,

PITTSBURG — Alfred E. “Rusty” Pryor, 87 of Pittsburg, KS died at 8:
57pm, Thursday, March 25, 2010 at Mt. Carmel Regional Medical Center
in Pittsburg, KS.
Rusty was born November 12, 1922 in Goodman, Mo to Luther and Mary
Elizabeth Pryor.
Rusty served his country in the United States Army Air Corp, during W.W.
II. While serving he received the Asiatic Pacific Service Medal, Philippine
Liberation Ribbon with 1 Bronze Star, World War II Victory Medal and the
Good Conduct Medal. He was honorably discharged on January 25,
1946.
He married Iva May Taylor. She preceded him in death on September 8,
1987.
Rusty worked for the City of Pittsburg, at the Disposable Plant, retiring
after more than 20 years of service.
Rusty was a member of the Benjamin Fuller American Legion Post #64 of
Pittsburg, KS.
Survivors include his sons Jack Pryor and companion Carol Arbogast,
Charles Benner, Paul Benner and wife Karen and Raymond Benner and
wife Mavis all of Pittsburg, KS; daughter Mary Pryor of Wichita, KS; along
with numerous grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Rusty was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Kay Benner and a
few siblings.
Graveside services will be 2:00pm, Monday, March 29, 2010 at Mt. Olive
Cemetery in Pittsburg with Rev. Daryl Gaddy officiating, where the
Benjamin Fuller American Legion Post #64 will have flag presentation.
Family and friends are requested to meet at thecemeteryon Monday. E-

FRONTENAC — Wanda Joy Lynch, 86 of Frontenac, KS, formerly of
McCune, KS died at 11:15am, Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at the Mt.
Carmel Regional Medical Center in Pittsburg, KS.
Wanda was born July 15, 1923 in Cardin, OK to Hubert B. and Lula M.
(Lewis) Moyer. She attended area schools.
On October 28, 1942, in Columbus, KS, she married Galen E. Lynch. He
preceded her in death on January 12, 1995.
Wanda was a homemaker.
She was a former member of the Oswego Christian Church. She was
also a former past worthy matron of the Order of the Eastern Star
chapter in Scammon, KS.
Survivors include her daughter Linda Coltrane and husband Larry of
rural Pittsburg, KS; sons Galen Lynch and wife Suzy of McCune, KS and
Virgil Lynch and wife Debbie of Prescott, KS; brothers Ralph Moyer of
McCune, KS and Billy Moyer of Wichita, KS; 9 grandchildren Mike
Coltrane and wife Alice, Kimberly Clark and husband John, Justin Lynch
and wife Jenny, Ryan Lynch, Laurie O’Dell and husband Blake, Amanda
Sullivan and husband Travis, Thomas, Timothy and John David Lynch;
along with 11 great-grandchildren Kelly, Matt, James, Kayla, Margo,
Brooke, Jace, Alexa, Abrea, Clayton and Brayden.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Russell, Charlie
and Hubert “Buster” Moyer.
Funeral services will be 11 am, Saturday, March 27, 2010 at Bath-Naylor
Funeral Home, 522 S. Broadway, Pittsburg, KS with Pastor Ken Ansley
officiating. Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery. The family
will receive friends from 10am until service time on Saturday at the
funeral home.
The family suggests expression of sympathy be in the
form of memorials to the Donor’s Choice. Memorials may be left at or
mailed to the funeral home.
