PITTSBURG — Donna June Dellasega, 84, of Pittsburg, KS, died 7:10 a.
m. Tuesday July 27, 2010 at Villa Maria Nursing home in Mulvane, KS
following a short illness.

Donna was born July 23, 1926 in Almena, KS the daughter of Claude
and Inez (Barham) Runyan. She attended area schools in Almena. She
was a lifelong resident of Pittsburg, KS.

On November 25, 1948 she married Bernard Vincent Dellasega in Dodge
City, KS; he preceded her in death on September 5, 2001. Donna was a
member of the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Pittsburg, KS;
loved golfing, sewing, cooking and attending local sports events.

Survivors include children Steve Dellasega of Tulsa, OK, Charliss
Korthanke and husband Jim of Robinson, KS, Dena Highberger and
husband Steve of Overland Park, KS, David Dellasega of Wichita, KS
and Dan Dellasega of Lenexa, KS; siblings Carol Friesen and husband
Noble, Colleen Carpenter and husband Thaine, Meredith Runyan and
wife Teresa and Betty Jenkins; 7 grandchildren and 3 great-
grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10am Monday August 2, 2010 at Our
Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Fr. Chad Arnold as celebrant.
Burial will follow at Mt. CarmelCemeteryin Frontenac, KS. Rosary will be
recited at 7pm Sunday August 1, 2010 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home
in Pittsburg, KS; family will receive friends following the rosary. Friends
may call the funeral home after 2pm on Sunday. In lieu of flowers the
family asks expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorials to the
Our Lady of Lourdes Altar Society. Friends may drop off or mail
memorials to Bath-Naylor Funeral Home 522 S. Broadway Pittsburg, KS

PITTSBURG — Violet Hines Smith 92, of Pittsburg, KS passed away 1:
05am Sunday July 25, 2010 at Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg, KS
following a short illness.

Violet was born February 19, 1918 in Newcastle on Tyne, England to
Charles Turnbull and Mary (Reid) Hines. She was a lifelong resident of
the area and attended area schools.

In December of 1943 she married Elliott Smith in Lamar, MO; he
preceded her in death on January 21, 1992. Violet was a homemaker.
She was of the Christian Faith and enjoyed walking, reading, animals
and crocheting. She was a caregiver to anyone in need and loved her
family.

Survivors include daughter Charlotte Rose Burgess and husband Mike
of Pittsburg, KS; sister Vera Cornell of Broken Arrow, OK; grandson Kelly
Burgess and wife Heather of Grand Island, NE; great-grandson Corbin
Elliott; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Chuck
(Red) Hines, Leslie Hines, sister Irene Schroff.

Memorial Services will be 1pm Saturday July 31, 2010 at the Community
of Christ Church in Pittsburg, KS with nephew Rev. Darryl Gaddy
officiating. Burial will take place at a private date in Mt. Olive Cemetery
in Pittsburg, KS. Informal Visitation will be 9-5pm Thursday July 29, 2010
at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg, KS. Friends may call after
12pm on Wednesday. E-mail condolences may be left at www.

Angela Tomlinson, 42 of Cherokee died Thursday morning July 22,
2010 at her home in Cherokee following a sudden illness.

She was born October 10, 1967 in Lamar , MO the daughter of
Clyde William and Sharon (Ryder) Whyman.

Angela attended Pittsburg schools and graduated from Pittsburg
High School ; she received her BS in Education from Pittsburg State
University . She and her family have lived in Cherokee for the last 15
years.

She married Duane Tomlinson in 1994 in Oswego , KS ; he
survives at the home.

Angela was a schoolteacher, teaching for USD 250 at the Pittsburg
Middle School ; she currently was teaching 6th grade mathematics.

She was an active member of the First Church of the Nazarene in
Pittsburg . She currently was serving on the church board, was the
interim children’s director and was the treasurer for the teen’s group.

Survivors include her husband Duane of the home; 2 daughters
Amanda M Parker and husband of Germany , Charlotte D. Tomlinson of
the home; her mother Sharon Whyman of Rockwall , TX ; two brothers
Michael Whyman of Dallas , TX , Bill Whyman and wife Karen of Owasso,
OK and her maternal grandparents Billy & Joe Brallie of Rockwall , TX .
She was preceded in death by a sister Cassie Whyman.

Memorial services will be 11 a .m. Thursday July 29, 2010 at the
First Church of the Nazarene in Pittsburg with Reverend Jim Sukraw
officiating. Inurnment of cremains will be at a later date. The family will
receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Wednesday at the Bath-Naylor Funeral
home in Pittsburg . Condolences can be sent to www.bathnaylor.com
Memorial contributions can be made to a scholarship fund for the
Nazarene Church in Angela’s name. Memorials may be brought by or

William ( Wayne ) W. Meyer Sr., 89 of Pittsburg , KS died 12:30pm
Wednesday July 21, 2010 at Via Christi Village in Pittsburg , KS following
an illness.

Wayne was born August 23, 19 20 in Pittsburg , KS the son of William
Henry and Ida Marie (Steensma) Meyer. He attended area schools in
Bird, Pittsburg High School and later graduated from Weir High School .
He then spent 4 years in the Army serving during WWII.

On November 24, 19 48 he married Norma Ruth Mason in Weir, KS she
preceded him in death in 1993.

Wayne worked as a farmer and at Smith Brothers in Carthage in data
processing as controls manager.

Wayne was of the Catholic Faith and a member of the American Legion.

Survivors include son Bill Meyer and wife Barbara of Weir, KS, Mary
Saporito and husband Frank of Weir, KS and Patty Soucy of Lawrence ,
KS ; son in-law Bill Norris of Yates Center , KS ; 13 grandchildren, 21
great-grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, 3 brothers, 2 sisters and
a daughter Nancy Jo Norris.

Memorial Services will be 11am Monday July 26, 2010 at the Bath-Naylor
Funeral Home in Weir, KS with Fr. Chrysostom Ah Maung officiating.
Burial will take place at a private date in BirdCemeteryin Pittsburg , KS .
Family will receive friends from 10-11am Monday prior to the service. In
lieu of flowers the family ask expressions of sympathy be in the form of
memorials to the Weir American Legion. Friends are asked to drop off
or mail memorials to Bath-Naylor Funeral Home 104 W. Main St. Weir,

Richard V. Cloke 91, of Pittsburg , KS formally of Chanute , KS died 7am
Tuesday July 20, 2010 at Via Christi Village in Pittsburg , KS following an
illness.

Richard was born January 16, 1919 in Parsons, KS the son of Roy G.
and Hazel P. (Babcock) Cloke. He was a member of the 1936 Chanute
State Championship Basketball Team graduating that same year. He
attended 2 years at Chanute Junior College before entering the US
Army Air Corp in 1938. He served in WWII in Africa and Italy flying
B-24s. After the War he was assigned as an associate professor at the
University of Kansas of Air Science and Technology. He later was
returned to active duty as an officer to a remote part of Japan . He later
retired from active duty at Richards Gebrara Air Force Base. Richard
had careers in Insurance, gas and oil industry, and real estate. He was
married to O. Helen Gardner in 1941.

Survivors include his sister Margie Thomas of Ft. Smith , AR ; 2 sons
Thomas Cloke of Chanute , KS and David Cloke of Pittsburg , KS , 10
grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and numerous cousins, nephews
and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and a son Richard
D. Cloke.

Memorial Graveside Services will be 10:30am Monday July 26, 2010 at
Erie MemorialCemeteryin Erie , KS with Rev. Harry Disbrow officiating.
Friends and family are asked to meet at thecemeterywhere full military
honors will be conducted. In lieu of flowers the family ask expressions of
sympathy be in the form of memorials to the First United Methodist
Church in Chanute , KS . Friends may drop or mail memorials to
Bath-Naylor Funeral Home 522 S. Broadway Pittsburg, KS 66762.

Nancy Ann Garren, 67 of Pittsburg, KS died at 3:15am, Monday, July 19,
2010 at Via Christi Hospital of Pittsburg, KS.

Nancy was born January 6, 1943 in Leuwellan, NE to George and Sarah
Ann (Poteet) Casteel.

Nancy came from Stella, MO, where she was a nurse for the Stella
Hospital for more than 40 years.

She is a member of the Bethpage Baptist Church.

Survivors include her sons Robert Garren of CO and Brian Garren of
Pittsburg, KS, mother Sarah Ann Casteel and Brother Sonny Casteel;
along with 8 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Nancy was preceded in death by her father and a daughter Alexia
Garren.

Graveside services will be 2:00pm, Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at St. Bridget’
sCemeteryin Scammon, KS with Dennis Johnson officiating. Family and
friends are requested to meet at the cemetery. The family suggests
expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorials to Angels Among
Us. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Bath-Naylor Funeral Home,
522 S. Broadway, Pittsburg, KS. 66762.
