RAY LEROY ROBARTS

Ray went to meet his Savior face to face on Thursday Aug. 23, 2012.

He was born October 23, 1932 to Everett Fred and Jenny Sadie (Smith)
Robarts in Pittsburg, KS.

He was raised in Pittsburg and became the man of the house at the
young age of 7 when his dad was killed by a car as he crossed the
street at 15th and Rouse.

As a teenager, he started working at Brakemen’s greenhouse and the
Pittsburg bowling alley to help support his family.

At the age of 17 he gave his heart to the Lord in the old Nazarene
church. He experienced a dynamic change in his heart. He entered the
Army in 1950 but suffered a knee injury and was medically discharged.

He was a Pittsburg firefighter for 5 years and was deputized to make
arrests.

He married Anna Marie Bridgewater on Nov. 5th, 1955 on his first
paycheck as a certified welder at McNally’s Pittsburg and remained
there for 40 years. He was a devoted family man and hard worker.

They raised 4 children, Patricia McCullough and husband Ed of
Pittsburg, Gina Peterson and husband Blake of Pittsburg, a son Marvin
and Wife Jo of Franklin and a son John Berger and wife Dawn of
Pittsburg

He had 11 Grandchildren, Curt McCullough and wife Lindsay, Shawna
(McCullough) Compton and husband Matt, Marcie Peterson, Savannah
(Peterson) Bartlett and husband Nathan, Jacob Peterson, Brandon
Robarts and wife Holly, Joshua Robarts, Kelsey Jo Robarts, Dakota
Robarts, Madison Berger and Makenna Berger.

Great Grandchildren are Trinity Compton, Justice Compton, Jericho
Compton, Laney McCullough, Brayden Robarts and Kyah Bartlett.

His wife Anna preceded him in death on April1, 2007 and their infant
son Ricky Ray in 1959; three brothers Leonard, Henry and Art Robarts;
two sisters Vernice Stromberg, and Adeline Mitchell Mayberry.

He was a passionate witness for the Lord Jesus Christ everywhere he
went. He was an avid supporter of Israel and the Biblical Promises and
end time prophesies for Israel and the Church.

He and Anna worked all their lives in the church as leaders and
servants to God. They were among the founding members of the
Pittsburg Lighthouse Tabernacle, and he served as vice president of
the Board in the 70’s. He was a compassionate honest man and willing
to help others. He is a Member of Victory Life Church and in the past
year he enjoyed going to breakfast with the men from the church on
Friday mornings. Special Thanks to a brother in Christ from the church
Richard Craze, who was a great friend and blessing in the last year of
his life. Ray’s hopes and prayers are for everyone to accept Christ as
their Savior.

Funeral services will be 1 pm, Monday at the Victory Life Center. Burial
will follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery. The family will receive friends at
the church from 5-7 pm on Sunday evening. Condolences may be left

Lester Price Simons, 79 of Joplin, MO passed from this life on August
22, 2012 at Via Christ Village in Pittsburg.

He was born on August 9th, 1933 in Arcadia, KS the son of Ora Price
Simons and Nellie Grey (Reynolds) Simons.

He worked for Trans World Airlines(TWA) in Kansas City for 10 years.
He was also a carpenter and a retired construction contractor.

Survivors include his wife Helen Simons of Joplin, MO, three sons: Tony
Price Simons, Daniel Ora Simons both of Opolis, KS, and Michael Ray
Simons and wife Angie of Pittsburg, KS. Two daughters: Cynthia Gale
Mack and husband Wallace of Tyro, KS and Marcella Hylton and
husband Rocky of Oklahoma City, OK; five sisters: June Lenox, Betty
Wright, Pearl Bacon, Susie Gates, and Alice Simons; seven
grandchildren: Erin Simons, Blake Simons, Jonathan Mack, Justin Mack,
Ashley Sherman, Mandi Simons and Rylee Hylton; two
great-grandsons: Sammy Jo Sherman and Benson Theodore Mack.

He was preceded in death by his brothers Robert & Gerald Ray Simons
and two sisters: Emma Grass and Ruthie Mae Simons.

Graveside services will be 10:30 am, Saturday, September 15, 2012 at
the Pleasant View, AKA LargeCemeteryjust north of Kato, KS. For
directions to thecemeterycall or come by the funeral home for a map.

Lucy Rose Walsh, infant daughter to Jeremiah and Jeanene R. Walsh
entered into Gods care Monday, August 6, 2012. She leaves behind
her parents, Jeremiah and Jeanene Walsh of Franklin, Kansas, and two
siblings, Isabella and Elijah Walsh. Paternal grandparents, Debbie
Wagner and Keith Walsh. Maternal grandparents, Linda Foxwell and
Steven Rohner. Paternal great-grandfather Robert Noe and wife
Dorothy. Maternal great-grandmother, Viola Beckman, and Maternal
great-grandfather John Rohner and wife Shirley, and numerous nieces
and nephews. She is preceded in death by her paternal great-
grandparents Lawrence and Winnifred Walsh and Maternal great-
grandfather Arnold Beckman.
The Mass of the Angels will be 1:30 P.M., Saturday, August 11, 2012 at
St. Micheal’s Catholic Church in Girard, Kansas with Father Roger
Lumbre as Celebrant. Burial will follow at the Garden of Memories in
Pittsburg. Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M. Friday, with the Rosary being
recited at 6 P.M., at Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg.

Alvin Aaron Officer 35, of Gaithersburg, MD passed away peacefully in
his sleep at his parents’ home the morning of August 5, 2012.
Aaron was born March 4, 1977 at Munson Army Hospital in Ft.
Leavenworth, KS the son of Alvin Davis and Salena Claudette (White)
Officer. He was baptized at Saint Casimer Catholic Church on March
12, 1977 in Leavenworth, KS. He attended Sacred Heart Catholic
School from 1st-8th grade in Knoxville, TN. He graduated from
Knoxville Catholic High School.
His activities and special interest in school were Boy Scouts, soccer and
Knoxville Talented and Gifted Student Program. He attended Boy
Scout High Sea Adventure in Key West, FL. He received The Order of
the Arrow Award for outstanding achievement in Boy Scouts. He played
football for Knoxville Catholic High School. He also served as altar boy
in grade school.
He attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and majored in
Computer Sciences with a minor in Business Administration. He
finished is BS Degree at the Colorado State University. He was
currently attending Graduate School at Colorado State University
earning a Master’s Degree in Business Administration.
He married Jessica Schmolbeck of Lansing, KS, they later divorced
after 10 years; there were no children from this union. He was
employed by T-Netix Corporation of Dallas, TX and worked as a
Technical Service Coordinator. He installed, maintained and serviced
computer information systems in prisons throughout the Midwest
Region of the United States.
He took on the extra responsibilities of caring for his paternal
grandparents in addition to working fulltime and traveling for his
company. He moved to Gaithersburg, MD to live with his parents after
the death of his grandparents and shortly after his health began to
decline.
He is survived by his parents Dr. and Mrs. Alvin Officer Ph.D of
Gaithersburg, MD; sister Kelley Butts and husband Karlton of
Manhattan Beach, CA; aunts and uncles Dorothy White of Kansas City,
MO; Dr. and Mrs. Harold M. Rose Ph.D of Milwaukee, WI, Betty Jo
Noland of Lakewood, CO, Fletcher White Jr. of the Presbyterian Manor
Nursing Home in Kansas City, KS, Wendell White and wife Stephanie of
Kansas City, MO, Bill White of Kansas City, MO, Lela Turner of Topeka,
KS and many cousins to numerous to count.
He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs.
Fletcher White Senior; paternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Alvin O.
Officer; aunts and uncles Rose Hunter, Patricia Gaston, Kenneth White,
Donnie White and nephew Weymond Powell.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 2pm Monday August 20, 2012 at the
Our Lady Lourdes Catholic Church in Pittsburg, KS with Father Marco
DeLoera as Celebrant. Burial will follow at the Mt. OliveCemeteryin
Pittsburg, KS. The family will have a dinner after committal at the Our
Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church Parish Hall following graveside rights.
In lieu of flowers the family ask expressions of sympathy be in the form
of memorials to the American Diabetes Association, American Heart
Association, National Association of Mental Illness or Humane Society of
Montgomery County, MD. Friends may drop off or mail memorials to
Bath-Naylor Funeral Home 522 S. Broadway Pittsburg, KS 66762.

Alma Jean Carpino, 83, died at St. Cloud Regional Medical Center in St.
Cloud, Florida on August 4, 2012. She was born in Bluejacket,
Oklahoma . Alma was the loved daughter of Harve and Sadie Ingle.
She lived most of her life in Pittsburg graduating from Pittsburg High
School in 1947. On November 21, 1953 she married Frank Carpino.
They danced throughout their married life. He preceded her in death
October 9, 2006. Alma was the loving mother of Regina Carpino and
Donna Rowan (Corky) of St. Cloud , FL and Frank Carpino (Ronda) of
Pittsburg. She was a beloved sister of Nancy Ingle of Van Nuys,
California. Alma was blessed with 5 grandchildren; Chasta Wright,
Amber West (Matt), Frankie John Carpino, Mandi Brown (David) and
Billy Carpino (Misty) along with 13 great grandchildren. Other survivors
in clued, Lorene Wendt and Jerrie McMillan, brothers and sisters-in-law,
nieces, nephews and many children whose lives she touched while
babysitting. Pallbearers are Frankie John Carpino, Billy Carpino, David
Brown, Matthew West, Zackary Hendricks, and Larry Rowan.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday August 11, 2012 at
Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Pittsburg with Father Marco
DeLoera as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Highland Park Cemetery.
The parish rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Friday at the Bath-Naylor
Funeral Home in Pittsburg where the family will receive friends following
the rosary until 8 p.m. The family will gather at the home of Mary Kay
Fanoele at 503 West 3rd. Condolences can be sent to
www.bathnaylor.com. Memorial contributions can be made to the
American Heart Association. Memorials may be brought by or mailed to
