John E. Mastin

John Earl Mastin, 59, formerly of Danville, died Wednesday at Veterans Administration Medical Center.

Born Nov. 6, 1941, in Danville, he was the son of Elsie Strevals Mastin of Danville and the late George Mastin.

He was a member of the Salvation Army church and a Vietnam era veteran.

Survivors include two daughters, Teresa Mastin and Billie Jo Bohon, both of Dallas, Texas; a sister, Sandra Mastin of Lexington; and a grandson.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday.

Betty M. Armstrong

LAWRENCEBURG -- Betty Carol Moore Armstrong, 56, of Lawrenceburg died Tuesday at St. Joseph Hospital.

Born Feb. 11, 1944, in Boyle County, she was the daughter of Clara Ellen Cox Moore of Lawrenceburg and the late Alonzo Moore. She was a 28-year employee of Boulevard Distillers.

Survivors include three daughters, Barbara L. Catlett, Brenda C. Scalf and Beth Woolums, all of Lawrenceburg; three sisters, Helen Wilson, Madeline Darnell and Nita Isley, all of Lawrenceburg; and six grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Ritchie-Peach-Todd Funeral Home by Tyre Denney. Burial will be in Lawrenceburg Cemetery.

Visitation is 3-9 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. Friday.

Sue Shelton

Services for Sue Shelton, 56, of Maple Avenue will be 7 p.m. Friday at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. Bill Boldt.

She died Tuesday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Born March 14, 1944, in Urbana, Ill., she was the daughter of the late Ira L. and Mildred E. McDevitt Strait. She was a food coordinator at Northpoint Training Center and a manager at the Tobacco Patch.

Survivors include a son, David Shelton of Dan-ville; a brother, Lionel F. Strait of Ur-bana; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Amy L. Shelton.

Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Friday until time of service.

Memorials may go to a favorite charity.

Paul Barrick

PERRYVILLE -- Services for Paul Barrick Sr., 79, of Sterling House, Jeffersonville, Ind., formerly of Perryville, will be 11 a.m. Friday at Wilder Funeral Home by the Revs. Garry Pate and Paul Barrick Jr. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.

He died Tuesday at Sterling House.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Barrick, Bill Bridge, Derek Keefe, Mark Keefe, Hoppy Wilson and Dempsey Wright.

Honorary pallbearers are Garland Barrick, Todd Barrick, James Cummins, Jewell Philpot, David Smith and Bill Wilson.

Visitation is 6-9 p.m. Thursday.

Blanche Coulter

STANFORD -- Services for Blanche Coulter, 87, of Halls Gap Estates will be 2 p.m. Friday at Spurlin Funeral Home by the Rev. Gary King. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens.

She died Tuesday at her home.

Born Nov. 11, 1913, in Honaker, Va., she was the daughter of the late Roscoe A. and Gertrude Miller Henry. She was a retired employee of Corning Glass and a homemaker, a member of Fairview Baptist Church and homemakers and quilting clubs. She was the widow of Hayden Coulter.

Survivors include two sons, Charles Coulter and Robert Coulter, both of Stanford; a daughter, Frances Keith of Bryantsville; two sisters, Doyle Rumore and Jennette Bailey, both of Stanford; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Donald J. Coulter.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth Henry, Jerry Bailey, Glen Bailey, Brian Bailey, Mike Edwards and Richard Landers.

Visitation is 5-9 p.m. today and 8:30 a.m. Friday until time of service.

Bessie Hardin

HARRODSBURG -- Services for Bessie Hardin, 84, of East Broadway will be 2:20 p.m. Friday at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home by Bobby Logue. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.

She died Tuesday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Born Aug. 7, 1916, in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late John and Nannie Sallee Phillips. She was a homemaker and a member of New Providence Presbyterian Church. She was the widow of Clyde Hardin.

Survivors include two sons, Floyd M. Hardin and Eddie D. Hardin, both of Harrodsburg; three daughters, Wanda J. Hardin and Joan Hardin, both of Harrodsburg, and Barbara J. Davis of Kannapolis, N.C.; 19 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Donald Logue, David Vinyard, Allen Hardin, Kevin Tharp, Tommy Tharp and Chris Tharp.

Honorary pallbearers are Roger Hardin, Chad Hardin, Bob Davis, Hughes Jones, Clyde Tharp, Harrison Dean, Harvey Anderson and Danny Hardin.

Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today and after 7 a.m. Friday until time of service.

Paul Barrick

PERRYVILLE -- Paul Barrick Sr., 79, of Sterling House, Jeffersonville, Ind., formerly of Perryville, died Tuesday at Sterling House.

Born March 26, 1921, in Boyle County, he was the son of the late Willard and Beulah L. Snawder Barrick. He was a representative for Laborers International Union, a member of Christ Community Nazarene Church and an Army veteran of World War II. He was the widower of Elizabeth Cummins Barrick.

Survivors include a son, Paul Barrick Jr. of Lawrenceburg; two daughters, Dianne Keefe of Sellersburg, Ind., and Elaine Jandis of Lawrenceburg; a brother, Garland Barrick of Perryville; two sisters, Christine Bridge of Shelbyville and June Ervin of Lebanon; and several grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Wilder Funeral Home by the Revs. Garry Pate and Paul Barrick Jr. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.

Visitation is 6-9 p.m. Thursday.

Terrel Cravens

LIBERTY -- Terrel Cravens, 60, of Poplar Hill Road died Tuesday at Casey County Hospital.

Born June 8, 1940, in Casey County, he was the son of the late Delbert and Mary Gadberry Cravens. He was a heavy equipment operator at Casey Stone Co.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Jean Vest Cravens; a daughter, Benita Cravens of Somerset; a son, Steven Cravens of Yosemite; four sisters, Patsy Atwood and Marcella Carr, both of Liberty, Helen McKee of Bethelridge and Izella McQueen of Kings Mountain; two brothers, Harold Cravens of Bethelridge and Darrel Cravens of Liberty; and two grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by Bobby Clark. Burial will be in Poplar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation is 7-9 p.m. today.

Pallbearers will be nephews.

Varner Lester

HARRODSBURG -- Services for Varner Lester, 87, of Harrodsburg will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Harrodsburg Baptist Church by the Revs. Stephen V. Bruce and Robert DeFoor. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.

He died Monday.

Born May 20, 1913, in Harrodsburg, he was the son of the late Minor and Zerilda Watts Lester. He was a retired farmer and a member of Harrodsburg Baptist Church where he was a deacon emeritus and former Glad Hand Sunday School class member.

Survivors include his wife, Hazel Trout Lester; three daughters, Anita L. Bruce of Versailles and Leona L. O'Banion and Virginia L. Yates, both of Harrodsburg; a brother, Horace Lester of Harrodsburg; two sisters, Mary Morris of Lakeland, Fla., and Helen Carpenter of Lexington; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Brian O'Banion, Robert Morris, Darill Lester, David Lester, Douglas Carpenter and Lynn Nichols.

Visitation is 5-9 p.m. today and 11 a.m. Thursday until time of service.

Memorials may go to Harrodsburg Baptist Foundation.
