Dale O. Taylor

HARRODSBURG -- Dale Owen Taylor, 42, of Greenwood Drive died Wednesday at his home.

Born Dec. 25, 1958, in Alexandria, La., he was the son of Shirley Moss Taylor of Harrodsburg and the late Owen W. Taylor. He was an electrician.

Other survivors include his wife, Teresa K. Matherly Taylor; two daughters, Brittney and Tara Taylor, both of Harrodsburg; a stepdaughter, Crystal Coulter of Lexington; a brother, Wayne Taylor of Harrodsburg; and three sisters, Belinda Houston of Connersville, Ind., Sharon Blankenship of Harrodsburg and Melanie Taylor of Lexington.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Ransdell Funeral Chapel by the Rev. James Harley. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Donnie Hampton, Rick Preston, Glenn Hurst, Perry Hurst, Tony Darland and Mike Matherly.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday.

Jewell W. Cress

SALEM, Ind. -- Jewell N. Witt Cress, 64, of Salem died Sunday at her home.

Born Dec. 27, 1935, in Liberty, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Agnes Norman Witt. She was a former restaurant owner and a member of Big Spring Church of Christ.

Survivors include her husband, Warren Cress; three sons, Gary Cress of Pekin, Ind., Larry Cress of Palmyra, Ind., and Jeffery Cress of Salem; two sisters, Norma White of Campbellsburg, Ind., and Kathyrn Mattingly of Salem; and six grandchildren.

Services were Wednesday at Weathers Funeral Home. Burial was in Big Spring Cemetery.

Harvey Helm

LIBERTY -- Harvey Helm, 94, of Woodrum Ridge Road died Wednesday at Fort Logan Hospital.

Born Oct. 15, 1906, in Hustonville, he was the son of the late James K. and Florence Owsley Helm. He was a retired farmer and a member of Clearview Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Addie Jones Helm; a daughter, Mildred Cutter of Hustonville; a son, Danny Helm of Bradfordsville; eight grandchildren; a foster grandchild; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a foster child, Preston Lanham.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Bartle Funeral Home by the Rev. Brad King. Burial will be in Clearview Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Randy Richards, Russell Schaffer, Tim Gillock, Danny and Darren Helm, and Barry Cutter.

Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Friday.

Emarine Goggin

Services for Emarine Rankin Goggin, 92, formerly of Hustonville Road, will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Kyle Hite. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery.

She died Tuesday at Mayfair Manor nursing home in Lexington.

Born Dec. 19, 1908, in Hubble, she was the daughter of the late David F. and Sophronia L. Oatts Rankin. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church and the Presbyterian women's group.

She also was a member of the Boyle County Democratic Women's Club, St. Asaph Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Boyle County Historical Society.

She had served on the purgation board for 22 years and on the board of elections for 18 years. In 1978, she received the John B. Breckinridge Outstanding Democrat Award for her service to the party.

Survivors include three nieces, Connie Rankin of Sebring, Fla., Karen Carrico of Lexington and Mary E. Rankin of Atlanta; and three nephews, Walter Goggin Jr. and Billy Goggin, both of Danville, and David L. Rankin of Apopha, Fla.

She was preceded in death by a nephew whom she raised, Robert D. Rankin.

Pallbearers will be David Rankin; John, Joe, Allan, Walter and Charles Goggin; Terrence Carrico and David Payne.

Honorary pallbearers are Fox Spoonamore, Jerry Daugherty, Tim Dievert, Tommy Sims, Richard Campbell, Mickey Harmon, John Nichols and Dr. S.R. Wold.

Visitation is after 7 p.m. today.

Memorials may go to the Presbyterian Church.

Virginia E. McAlister

Services for Virginia Evans McAlister, 76, formerly of Swope Drive, will be 2 p.m. today at Stith Funeral Home by the Rev. Caroline Bloomfield. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery.

She died Sunday at Sayre Christian Village nursing home in Lexington.

Born March 16, 1924, in Mitchellsburg, she was the daughter of the late Buford and Cora Jones Evans.

Jerry R. Milburn

Services for Jerry Ray Milburn, 47, of Glendive Court will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Baptist Church by the Rev. Mark Payton. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery.

He died Tuesday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Born May 3, 1953, in Danville, he was the son of Ruby E. Munday Milburn of Danville and the late Oscar "Johnny" Milburn. He was owner of Milburn Electric Co. and co-owner of Appliance Plus. He was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church and had been a lineman for Kentucky Utilities for 15 years. He was a member of Gideons International and was a 1971 graduate of Danville High School.

Other survivors include his wife, Karen Hargis Milburn; two sons, Kevin R. Milburn and Kaleb J. Milburn, both of Danville; two daughters, Kelly M. Emerson and Kimberly F. Milburn, both of Danville; two brothers, Ron L. Milburn of Georgetown and Kenny Milburn of Harrodsburg; and a sister, Pat Logue of Danville.

Pallbearers will be Tony Griffin, Craig Bell, Lyle Evans, Gary Douglas, Ken Leathers, John Cox, George Hardesty and Jeff Baird.

Honorary pallbearers are members of the Young Couples Sunday School Class.

Visitation is after 3 p.m. Friday at Stith Funeral Home.

Memorials may go to Gideons International.

SPRINGFIELD -- Services for Mann Graves, 90, of Perryville Road will be 11 a.m. Friday at Carey and Son Funeral Home by the Rev. Earl Burnside. Burial will be in Peter Cemetery, Mackville.

He died Tuesday at Norton Spring View Hospital in Lebanon.

Visitation is 5-9 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. Friday.

Virginia E. McAlister

Virginia Evans McAlister, 76, formerly of Swope Drive, died Sunday at Sayre Christian Village nursing home, Lexington.

Born March 16, 1924, in Mitchellsburg, she was the daughter of the late Conley McAlister and Cora Jones Evans. She had been a Britts Department Store clerk and attended Perryville schools.

Survivors include a daughter, Marybeth McAlister of Lexington; and two grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Stith Funeral Home. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery.

Visitation is after 1 p.m. Thursday.

Mann Graves

SPRINGFIELD -- Mann Graves, 90, Perryville Road, Springfield, died Tuesday at Norton Spring View Hospital in Lebanon.

Born in December 1910 in Washington County, he was the son of the late Charles E. and Annie C. Russell Graves. He was a retired farmer, member of Mackville Christian Church, and the widower of Flora M. Goode Graves.

Survivors include two sons, William A. Graves of Perryville and Bobby L. Graves of Springfield; four daughters, Golden J. Gillespie of Harrodsburg, Jane Corbett and Evelyn Smith, both of Springfield, and Nettie F. Calhoon of DeKalb, Ill.; a sister, Laura O'Bryan of Springfield; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Sarah C. Machal

MOUNT VERNON -- Sarah Ellen Cox Machal, 89, of Mount Vernon died Monday at Harrodsburg Health Care Manor.

Born April 5, 1911, in Rockcastle County, she was the daughter of the late Tom and Ellen Thompson Cox. She was a homemaker and a member of First Christian Church. She was the widow of J.G. Machal.

Survivors include four sons, John and Paul Machal, both of Harrodsburg, and Bobby and Chock Machal, both of Mount Vernon; eight grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and six stepgreat-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at First Christian Church by Eddie Hammond. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Kelvin Machal, Mike Kelly, Monty Short, George Crawford, Ted Russell and Tom Darst.

Visitation is from 6-9 p.m. today at Dowell & Martin Funeral Home and after 11 a.m. Thursday at the church.

Floyd Milner

WAYNESBURG -- Floyd Milner, 63, of Old South Fork Road, Kings Mountain, died Monday at his home.

Born March 13, 1937, in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Champ and Roxie M. Roland Milner. He was a member of Kings Mountain Christian Church.

Survivors include two sisters, Imogene Adams of Kings Mountain and Maxine Whitaker of Danville.

Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Barnett & Demrow Funeral Home by the Rev. David Gambrel. Burial will be in Gooch Cemetery.

Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today.
