Kenneth E. Stevens

STANFORD -- Kenneth Earl Stevens, 63, of Crab Orchard died Sunday at his home.

Born Oct. 9, 1937, in Stanford, he was a son of the late Oley D. and Sarah E. Foley Stevens. He was a farmer and a member of Faith Temple Church of Jesus Christ in Preachersville.

Survivors include his wife, LouAnna Kidd Stevens; two sons, Kenny Stevens and Wesley Stevens, both of Crab Orchard; three daughters, Barbara Sweeney, Martha "Sissy' Day, and Rose Mary Northern, all of Crab Orchard; a brother, Alford Stevens of Preachersville; four sisters, Corellen Privett of Stanford, Joann Yocum and Easter Hale, both of Crab Orchard, and Virginia Burchett of Danville; and 13 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, John Earl Stevens, and a daughter, Sheena Faye Stevens.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Spurlin Funeral Home by the Rev. A.S. Atwood. Burial will be in Dix River Church of Christ Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Yocum, Johnny Stevens, Bobby Stevens, Mike Johnson, Michael Dale Johnson, Troy Johnson, Stevie Hale and Archie Stevens.

Visitation is 5-9 p.m. today

Lucille Clark

Services for Margaret Lucille Clark, 76, of Highfield Road will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. Earnest Martin. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens.

She died Saturday.

Born Sept. 26, 1924, in Boyle County, she was a daughter of the late Oscar and Josie Key Milburn. She was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, James F. Clark; two sons, Merle Clark of Danville and David Clark of Lexington; a brother, Eugene Milburn of Harrodsburg; two sister, Jewell Lester and Catherine Lowe, both of Danville; and four grandchildren.

Visitation is 7:30-9 p.m. today.

Memorials may go to American Cancer Society or Calvary Baptist Church building fund.

Ada H. Hedland

Services for Ada Henson Hedland, 93, of Louisville will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. Vernon Hawkins. Burial will be in Hustonville Cemetery.

She died Saturday at home.

Pallbearers will be Brad and John Sleadd, Billy Randolph, Donald Henson, Johnathon Hedland, Jim Wilson and Kirby Carman.

Visitation will be noon-2 p.m. Wednesday.

Clarence Swaffar

LANCASTER -- Graveside services for Clarence "Pete" Swaffar, 85, of Lancaster will be held later in Park Grove Cemetery, Broken Arrow, Okla.

He died Saturday.

Born March 17, 1916, in Boggy Depot, Okla., he was a son of the late George N. and Anna I. Rawls.

He was a cattleman and former executive secretary for the American Shorthorn Association. He was the widower of Irene Watkins Swaffar.

Survivors include three sons, Jerry L. Swaffer of Pittsfield, Mass., Michael G Swaffar of Lancaster and Robert C. Swaffar of Austin, Texas; two sisters, Betty Andrews of Edmond Okla., and Alma Taylor of Oklahoma City; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Spurlin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Carrie W. Bourne

Crab Orchard -- Carrie Wilson Bourne, 91, of Lancaster Street died Monday at Fort Logan Hospital.

Born Sept. 26, 1909, in Stanford, she was a daughter of the late Elijah and Allie Hoskins Wilson. She was a retired Lincoln County teacher and a member of Crab Orchard Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, A.J. Bourne; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at McKnight-Martin Funeral Home by Norman Young. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be deacons of Crab Orchard Baptist Church.

Visitation is 5:30-8 p.m. today.

Carolyn J. Phillips

HARRODSBURG -- Carolyn Joyce Phillips, 67, of Longview Drive died Sunday at Central Baptist Hospital.

Born June 27, 1934, in Mercer County, she was a daughter of the late Calvin and Mary Harris Bruner. She was a retired dietary aide for James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital and a member of Harrodsburg Christian Church.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Phillips Sr.; two sons, Diane Preston of Mercer County and Susan Phillips of Harrison, Ohio; four grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Visitation is 5-9 p.m. today and after 7 a.m. Wednesday.

Lois R. Reed

HARRODSBURG -- Services for Lois Lancaster Rue Reed, 86, of Mooreland Avenue will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Ransdell Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Don Chase. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.

She died Sunday at James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.

Born Sept. 3, 1914, she was a daughter of the late Insco W. and Charlotte Forbes Rue. She was a lifelong member of Harrodsburg Christian Church where she sang in the church choir, taught Sunday School, and was church secretary for 24 years.

Survivors include two sons, Ronald H. and William H. Reed, both of Versailles; four brothers, Edwin W. Rue of Lexington, Frank F. Rue of Merritt Island, Fla., Leslie M. Rue of Harrodsburg and Clarence N. Rue of Amarillo, Texas; a sister, Aileen R. Doehler of Littleton, Colo.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jay Schmidt, Bill Hargis, Todd Hargis, Insco Rue III, Bill Randolph and Howard Fallis.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today.

Howard O. Gabehart

LIBERTY -- Howard Otto "Slick" Gabehart, 78, of Clementsville died Tuesday at home.

Born Aug. 1, 1922, in Taylor County, he was a son of the late Elbridge and Linnie Combs Gabehart. He was a self-employed sawmill owner and timber cutter. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Gum Lick Christian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Leona Murphy Gabehart; two sons, Roger Gabehart and Barry Gabehart, both of Liberty; three daughters, Ann Allen of Simpsonville, Debbie Stafford of Liberty and Patty Thompson of Campbellsville; two brothers, Merlin Gabehart of Campbellsville and Burl Gabehart of Louisville; three sisters, Norma Jeffries of Campbellsville, Hylma Minor of Mannsville and Billie Cox of Actworth, Ga.; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by Steve Martin and Jimmy Knifley. Burial will be in Gum Lick Cemetery.

Visitation is after 6 p.m. today.
