Frances B. Rowzee

Services for Frances Brown Smith Rowzee, 83, of Crosshill Road were Saturday at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church by the Rev. Lynh Nguyen. Burial was in St. Dominic Cemetery in Springfield.

She died Thursday at Danville Centre for Health and Rehabilitation.

Pallbearers were Mark Rowzee, Brian Snead, Alex Faulkner, Chuck Snead, Jeff Faulkner, Jim Lester, Kevin Milburn and Steve Lovell.

Honorary pallbearers were Pete Hernandez, Mike Wilder, John W.D. Bowling and Mark Spurlin.

Memorials may go to Heritage Hospice.

Stith Funeral Home handled arrangements.

Hadgie Lewis

LANCASTER -- Services for Hadgie Lewis, 66, of Ashley Camp Road, Burgin, will be 11 a.m. Monday at Spurlin Funeral Home by Floyd Henry. Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery.

She died Thursday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Born Nov. 7, 1936, in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Robert Henry and Mary Belle Yocum Henry.

She was a homemaker and member of Harrodsburg Church of God.

Survivors include her husband, Morgan Lewis of Harrodsburg; three sons, Jerry, Dean and Roger Lewis, all of Harrodsburg; four brothers, Tommy and Joe Henry, both of Lancaster, and Floyd and Michael Henry, both of Harrodsburg; two sisters, Judy Ballard of McKinney and Louise Hayes of Owensboro; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Lewis.

Visitation is 3-9 p.m. today at Spurlin Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Steve, Larry and Rusty Stinnett, Jeff and Tony Henry, and Kenneth Absher.

Linnie M. Bodner

Linnie M. Bodner, 81, East Grubbs Lane, Junction City, died today at Danville Center for Health and Rehabilitation.

Born Feb. 21, 1921, in Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Leonard and Bertha Belcher McGlothlin. She was a homemaker and member of Shelby Baptist Church. She was the widow of John Matthew Bodner Sr.

Survivors include two sons, Marvin Bodner of Junction City and John Bodner Jr. of Danville, two daughters, Lottie Sneed of Fort Pierce, Fla. and Jearline Greer of Louisville; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceeded in death two sons, Albert and Gary Wayne Bodner.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home by Rev. Paul McFarland. Burial will be in Moreland Cemetery.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Juanita Latimer

Juanita Latimer, 88, of Rosemont Avenue died Tuesday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Born Nov. 23, 1914, in Danville, she was the daughter of the late Max and Virginia Spoonamore Latimer. She was a retired buyer for Hub-Frankel and a member of The Presbyterian Church and Body Recall.

Survivors include a sister, Maxine Mitchell of Jeffersonville, Ind.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at The Presbyterian Church with Rev. Kyle Hite officiating.

Contributions are suggested to the church.

Arrangements are being handled by Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home.

Frances B. Rowzee

Born July 15, 1919, in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late T.K. and Rebecca Montgomery Smith. She was a homemaker and member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. She was a graduate of St. Catherine's Academy and attended St. Catharine College.

Survivors include her husband, Edward F. Rowzee Jr; two daughters, Mary Francis Faulkner and Becky Sneed, both of Danville; two sons, Edward F. Rowzee III of Plainfield, Ill., and William D. Rowzee of San Leandro, Calif.; a sister, Helen L. Clark of Centerville, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Fenster Rowzee.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church by the Rev. Lynh Nguyen. Burial will be in St. Dominic Cemetery in Springfield.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today at Stith Funeral Home.

Memorials may go to Heritage Hospice.

Robert E. Thornton III

Robert Eugene Thornton III, 27, Highland Court died Tuesday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Born Oct. 11, 1975, in Danville, he was the son of Janice Andrews of Danville and Robert Thornton II of Stanford. He attended St. James AME Church and was a graduate of Danville High School. He was a factory worker.

Additional survivors include a daughter, Keaira Eman Thornton of Lexington; two brothers, Michael Thornton and Anthony Letcher, both of Danville; three sisters, Anita Turner, LaDonna Whitehead and Ebony Thornton, all of Danville; a companion, Jennifer Young of Junction City.

Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at St. James AME Church by Rev. Everhart Walker. Burial will be in Hill-n-Dale Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Jeremy Andrews, Chris Fish, Chris Harlan, Richard Texidor, LaRon Faulkner and George Whitehead.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Demarco Prewitt, Clifford Berry, Tony Mays, Shantae Ford, David Brown, Mike and Tony Floro and Mike Meadows.

Visitation will be noon-1 p.m. Monday at the church.

Jennifer Porter-Dunn

PARIS -- Jennifer Porter-Dunn, 42, died Wednesday at University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center.

Born May 11, 1960, she was the daughter of Mable Rose Curtsinger Porter of Russell Springs and the late Buddy Russell Porter. She was employed by the Department for Community Based Services in Paris.

Survivors include her husband, Anthony Dunn; a daughter, Katie Price of Paris; a son, Todd Price of Paris; a sister, Cynthia Porter Combs of Richmond; a brother, Michael Porter of Clearwater, Fla.; and an aunt, Kathryn Gilpin of Liberty.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday at Lusk-McFarland Funeral Home in Paris and from 12-2 p.m. Saturday at Antioch Christian Church in Casey County. Burial will follow in Antioch Cemetery.

William Carl Morris

LANCASTER -- William Carl Morris, 85, of Davenport, Fla., formerly of Lancaster, died Tuesday at his home. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Morris.

Jerry D. Hines

STANFORD -- Services for Jerry Deem Hines, 62, of Lancaster Street, Crab Orchard, will be 2 p.m. today at Fox Funeral Home by the Rev. Ernest L. Martin. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery with military rites by Caswell-Saufley Post 18, American Legion.

He died Monday at Fort Logan Hospital.

Survivors include nine grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Brad Oaks, Ashley Morris, Bobby and Ernie Cordier, Carlyle and Carlyle Poynter Jr.

Mary C. Foster

LIBERTY -- Mary Catherine Foster, 76, of Clementsville died Tuesday at her home.

Born June 25, 1926, in Casey County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Watt and Mary Ellen Clements Wethington. She was retired from Fruit of the Loom and was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church.

Survivors include three sons, Thomas Foster of Liberty, Jeffrey Foster of Clementsville and Bobby Foster of Campbellsville; four daughters, Lynette Campbell of Campbellsville, Jackie McAnelley of Liberty, and Vickie Medalie and Pamela Foster, both of Bowling Green; a sister, Evelyn Goode of Clementsville; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. Bernard Catholic Church by the Rev. Mark Hamilton. Burial will be in St. Bernard church cemetery.

Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.

Jamie B. Newland

CRAB ORCHARD -- Jamie Andrew Baker Newland, 85, of Stanford died Wednesday at Garrard County Memorial Hospital in Lancaster.

Born Aug. 28, 1917, in Crab Orchard, she was the daughter of the late Earl Cecil and Jenny Rogers Baker. She was the widow of M.D. Newland. She was a member of Crab Orchard Baptist Church, a graduate of Spencerian Business College and a retired licensed practical nurse at the old Kentucky State Hospital.

Survivors include a son, Bert McGohon of Stanford; two brothers, E.C. Baker Jr. of Brodhead and Roger Baker of Frankfort; and two sisters, Elaine Young of Louisville and Sue Hale of Danville.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at McKnight Funeral Home by Gary Story. Burial will be in Crab Orchard Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Brian Baschnagel, James Dyehouse, Paul Wyler, Toney Dollins, Ralph Coleman and Buckwheat Gilbert.

Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Friday.

Douglas Collier

Services for Douglas Collier, 83, of 424 Logan Ave. will be 11 a.m. Friday at Stith Funeral Home by the Rev. Floying Thompson Jr. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery.

He died Tuesday at Ephriam McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Born June 5, 1919, in Mercer County, he was the son of the late John and Ethel Murphy Collier. He was a carpenter and former owner of Collier's Carpets. He served as part of the Military Police for the Army in WWII and was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include a son, David N. "Sonny" Collier of Danville; three daughters, Glenden Collier Edwards and Doris Collier Provence, both of Danville, and Betty Ann Claunch of Harrodsburg; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Opal Williams Collier.

Visitation will be after 5 p.m. today at Stith Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.
