Jeremy Portwood, 5, of Logan Avenue, son of Ian and Suzanne Portwood died today at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. Arrangements are incomplete at Stith Funeral Home.

John E. Coffman

LIBERTY -- John Edwin Coffman, 70, of Liberty died Wednesday at his home.

Born Nov. 6, 1932, in Casey County, he was the son of the late Otis and Nettie Smith Coffman. He was a retired saw mill operator and farmer, and an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his former wife, Doris Coffman; three sons, Tim and Jeff Coffman, both of Liberty, and John Price-Coffman of Lebanon; two daughters, Regina Phelps of Liberty and Debbie Price-Coffman of Lebanon; three stepsons, Danny, David and Tommy Long, all of Liberty; a stepdaughter, Donna Glover of Liberty; two brothers, Lee Otis and Kenneth Coffman, both of Liberty; 18 grandchildren; 10 step grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and nine step great-grandchildren.

Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Bartle Funeral Home by the Rev. Jeff Edwards. Burial will be in Peavey Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 6 p.m. today.

LANCASTER -- Corinna Henry, 74, of Norwood, Ohio, formerly of Garrard County, died Wednesday at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati.

Anthony Sebastian "Tony" Marshall, 82, of Burgin died Tuesday at Thomson-Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore.

Dale T. Austin

MORELAND -- Services for Dale Thomas Austin, 74, of Arnold Tower, Danville, will be 1 p.m. Friday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by Odis Clark. Burial will be in Thomastown Cemetery.

He died Wednesday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Born Oct. 25, 1928, in Dunnville, he was the son of the late Lucien W. and Jenette Thomas Austin.

He was a retired machinist and an Army medic. He was a Protestant.

Visitation will be 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday.

Memorials may go to Boyle County Humane Society.

Lora Sharp

WILLIAMSBURG -- Lora Sharp, 89, of Elizabethtown died Monday at her home.

She was the daughter of the late James O. and Rebecca Pridemore. She was a retired cafeteria manager, a member and Sunday School teacher at First Baptist Church of Rockholds, and a member of the Rockholds Homemakers Club. She was the widow of Glen W. Sharp.

Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Feeback of Burgin; a son, and Gary Sharp of Elizabethtown; four sisters, Julia Douglas of Cincinnati, Clara Hubbs of Zepher Hills, Fla., Bessie Roberts and Rosa Olmstead of Wofford; two brothers, Charlie White of Corbin and Alton White of Bowling Green; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Jones & Son Funeral Home by the Rev. John Paul Brady. Burial will be in Broyles Cemetery.

Visitation is after 5 p.m. today.

Services for Thelma L. Murphy Franklin, 74, of Bowen Road, Stanford, will be 1 p.m. today at Stith Funeral Home by the Rev. Roy Franklin. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery.

She died Monday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Pallbearers will be Michael and Chad Rogers, Brandon and Chris Franklin, Wesley Cochran, Ray Ross, Butch Wine and Ralph Devine Jr.

Honorary pallbearers are Jimmy and Charlie Brown.

Maggie O. Fleming

CRAB ORCHARD -- Services for Mattie Owens Fleming, 85, of West Chester, Ohio, will be 11 a.m. Friday at McKnight Funeral Home by Dan Gutenson. Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery.

Survivors include a son, John W. Owens of West Chester; a brother, Earl Shaw of Lancaster; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Joe Catanzaro, Chad McIntosh, Gary and Randy Owens, Barry and Rodney Adams. Honorary pallbearers are Bud, Jesse Paul and Earl Adams.

Visitation will be after 10 a.m. Friday.

Christine A. Wheat

STANFORD -- Services for Christine Allen Wheat, 92, of Stanford will be 11 a.m. Thursday at New Salem Baptist Church by the Rev. Garry Allen. Burial will be in McKinney Cemetery.

She died Monday at Harrodsburg Health Care Center.

Born May 17, 1910, in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late George W. and Mary Emily Leeper Wilcher. She was retired from Corning Glass Works in Danville, a member of New Salem Baptist Church and the widow of Albert Wheat.

Survivors include five sons, Harold, Earl and B.C. Allen, all of Stanford, and Johnny and Gary Allen, both of Danville; 17 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Allen, and a former husband, Charlie Allen.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Garry Allen Jr., John, Kenneth, David, Greg, Jeff and Dale Allen.

Honorary pallbearers are grandchildren.

Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today at Spurlin Funeral Home.

Memorials may go to Heritage Hospice.

Dan O. Bodner

Dan O. Bodner, 73, of Atlanta, Ga., formerly of Danville, died Saturday in Atlanta.

Born Jan. 15, 1930, in Danville, he was the son of Richard and Emma Wilson Bodner. He was owner of Miama-Sexauer Business Machine Co. and a 1948 graduate of Danville High School. He attended Centre College and served in the Army during the Korean War. He was a member of Cathedral of St. Phillip in Atlanta. He also was a Mason and Shriner and a member of all Masonic bodies.

Survivors include his wife, Judith H. Bodner; two sons, Douglas A. Bodner and William G. Bodner, both of Atlanta; a stepson, Bobby Gartin of Atlanta; a stepdaughter, Kathy Gartin of Atlanta; a brother, Dick Bodner of Villa Hills; and a sister, Doris Bodner Balasa of Villa Hills.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Cathedral of St. Philip.

Memorials may go to Episcopal Charities for the Diocese of Atlanta, 2744 Peachtree Road NW, Atlanta, Ga., 30305.

Thelma L. Murphy Franklin, 74, of Bowen Road, Stanford, died Monday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Born June 17, 1928, in Garrard County, she was the daughter of the late James and Jenny Davis Murphy. She was a machinist, retired from Signet Co.

Survivors include her husband, William F. Franklin; two sons, James W. Franklin of Danville and Tony Franklin of Stanford; three daughters, Elisabeth Jane Cochran and Diane F. Rogers, both of Junction City, and Barbara S. Neice of Lexington; two sisters, Hazel Bugg of Harrodsburg and Gladys Leonard of Salem, Ind.; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Stith Funeral Home by the Rev. Roy Franklin. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery.

Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today.
