Allie B. Spradlin, 82, of West Lexington Avenue died Saturday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Arrangements are incomplete at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home.

LIBERTY-- Marvin Clements, 68, of Ky. 70 died Saturday. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Clements.

Leo Long

HARRODSBURG -- Services for Leo Long, 81, of Beaumont Avenue will be 11 a.m. Monday at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home by the Revs. James Harley and Gary Story. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.

He died Friday at his home following a brief illness.

Born February 25, 1919 in Madison County, he was a son of the late Ott and Eula Prewitt Long. He was a retired employee of Kentucky Souvenirs, where he had worked for 35 years, and was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. He was the husband of Wanda Marshbanks Long.

Additional survivors include a son, Roy Long of Hodgenville; a daughter, Brenda Noe of Lancaster; two brothers, Bobby and Oneal Long, both of Harrodsburg; four sisters, Edna Sutton and Reba Hall, both of Lancaster, Dora Wells of Lexington and Frances Hayden of Harrodsburg; and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Bobby, Ricky, Jerry and Grayland Long, Steve Hayden and Ronnie Sutton.

Honorary pallbearers are Charlie Carr, Bill Barnett, Marvin and Gilbert Marshbanks, Wallace Smock and Calvin Shewmaker.

Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. today and after 7 a.m. Monday at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.

Memorials may go to the American Heart Fund or the American Cancer Association.

Melvin R. Hopper

LIBERTY -- Services for Melvin Roy Hopper, 64, of Cincinnati, Ohio will be 2 p.m. Monday at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Durham Cemetery.

He died Friday in Liberty.

Born April 20, 1936 in Casey County, he was a son of the late Alfred Ray and Elveda Terry Hopper. He was a retired employee of Ford Motor Company in Cincinnati and the husband of Maxine Bradshaw Hopper.

Additional survivors include a daughter, Elizabeth Stamps of Cincinnati, Ohio; a son, Melvin J. Hopper of Cincinnati; two sisters, Mae Sams and Arlie Daffron, both of Cincinnati; a brother, Ray Hopper of Cincinnati; two grandchildren and one great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Thelma Lawless.

Visitation will be after 6 p.m. today at Bartle Funeral Home.

John M. Briscoe

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. -- John Mitchell Briscoe, 64, of Arizona died June 16 at the home of a daughter in California.

Born Feb. 11, 1936, in Parksville, Ky., he was a a retired truck driver.

He is survived by two sons, Randall Scott Briscoe, Jerry Allen Briscoe; one daughter, Lisa Dianne Briscoe; and one brother, Marvin Briscoe, all of California.

Services were held at Mount View Mortuary with burial in the Desert Lawn Cemetery in Calimesa, Calif.

W.D. Lannum

W.D. "JR" Lannum, 80, of Lebanon Road died Tuesday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Born Dec. 26, 1919, in Marion County, he was a son of the late William D. and Virgie Hill Lannum. He was a salesman in the men's department at Hub Frankel department store. He served in the Navy in World War II and was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. He also had been a delivery man for Butternut Bread Co. and manager of the old Begley Drug Store Restaurant.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Jane Cloud Lannum; six sons, Larry Lannum of Richmond, Dennis A. Cloud of Lexington, Larry F. Cloud of St. Petersburg Fla., John A Cloud of Nicholasville, David W. Cloud of Charlotte, N.C., and Keith H. Cloud of Danville; two daughters, Kelly Zaeh of Roswell, Ga., and Mary Kay West of Galatin, Tenn.; a brother, D.J. Lannum of Danville; a sister, Juanita Pichotta of Cincinnati; 16 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church by the Rev. Paul Prabell. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.

Visitation is after 4 p.m. Thursday at Stith Funeral Home with a prayer service at 5:30 p.m.

Michael D. Hilbert

MORELAND -- Michael D. Hilbert, 41, of Michigan, formerly of Boyle County, died Monday in Lexington.

Born May 1, 1959, he was a son of the late Lester D. Hilbert and Millie Griffitts Hilbert. He was a contractor.

Survivors include a brother, Jerry Hilbert of Texas.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home. Burial will be in Hustonville Cemetery.

Visitation is after 5 p.m. Friday.

Kelly R. Hudson

LIBERTY -- Kelly Ray Hudson, 62, of Dunnville died Tuesday at Liberty Care Center.

Born Feb. 8, 1938, in Casey County, he was a son of the late Albert K. and Inas Miller Hudson. He was a retired farmer and a member of Dunnville Christian Church.

Survivors include a sister, Verlene Hudson of Cincinnati.

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by Clifford Dehart. Burial will be in Thomastown Cemetery.

Visitation is after noon Thursday.

Bernice C. Carr

HARRODSBURG -- Bernice Elizabeth Currens Carr, 79, formerly of Warwick Road, died Tuesday at James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.

Born July 16, 1920, in Mercer County, she was a daughter of the late James and Beulah Merryman Currens. She was a former employee of Haggin Hospital and Kentucky State Hospital. She was a member of Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church where she was a former member of the Ladies Circle, and the widow of Matt C. Carr.

Survivors include two daughters, Beulah Hester of Stanford and Bonnie Sebastian of Arlington, Texas; three brothers, Eldorse Currens of Harrodsburg, Jimmie Currens of Mercer County and Lee Currens of Piedmont, S.C.; three sisters, Gladys Lewis, Flossie Renner and Louise Smock, all of Mercer County; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home by the Rev. John Westerfield. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Terry, Keith, Kelly, Jeff, Johnny and Lee Currens Jr., Bobby Lewis and David Smock. Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Ransdell, Harold Baker, and Tommy, Lennie, Todd and Kevin Currens.

Visitation is 5-9 p.m. Thursday and after 7 a.m. Friday.

Memorials may go to Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church.

Joseph R. Littrell

SCIENCE HILL -- Joseph Ray Littrell, 49, of Eubank died Monday at University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center.

Born Feb. 20, 1951, in Danville, he was a son of Leddie Anderson Littrell of Eubank and the late Cleo L. Littrell. He was an apprentice funeral director at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home, an Army veteran and a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Molden Littrell; a daughter, Joey Lynn Littrell of Eubank; a son, Jimmy Lee Littrell of Eubank; and three sisters, Barbara K. Rice and Midge Long, both of Stanford, and Linda Sears of Eubank.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Morris and Hislope Funeral Home by Marvin Cromer and Harlan Avery. Burial will be in Good Hope Cemetery.

Visitation is after 6 p.m. today.

W.R. Padgett

SPRINGFIELD -- W.R. "Bill" Padgett, 79, of Springfield died Monday at his home.

Born Feb. 23, 1921, in Washington County, he was a son of the late Edgar and Maudie Pierce Padgett. He was a retired superintendent of the Lincoln Homestead State Park and Golf Course and a member of Springfield Baptist Church. He was the widower of Margaret Smothers Padgett.

Survivors include a brother, Joe Buck Padgett of Springfield.

Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Carey & Son Funeral Home by the Rev. Bland Mason. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery.

Visitation is 5-9 p.m. today.

James E. Randolph

MILFORD, Ohio -- James Earl Randolph, 80, of Milford died Monday in Cincinnati.

Born June 13, 1920, in Yosemite, he was a son of the late Robert and Stella Richardson Randolph . He was a retired maintenance employee at Inmont Corp. and a World War II Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife, June Pike Randolph; four daughters, Janice Yount, Bonnie Medina, Shirley Ortiz, Alice Randolph and Elizabeth Randolph; two sons, James E. Randolph Jr. and David S. Randolph; two sisters, Vera Brougham and Edith Wesley; a brother, John R. Randolph; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Evans Funeral Home by the Rev. Chester Pike. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday.
