Larry Wayne Flora
Larry Wayne Flora, 33, Flemingsburg, passed away June 26, 2006, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Mr. Flora was a truck driver.
Born in Mason County on April 3, 1973, he was the son of Deloris Ramey Flora of Flemingsburg and the late Larry C. Flora.
Also surviving are two sisters, Debbie Sue (Randy) Williams of Tilton and Lisa Ann (Michael Dean) Jackson of Flemingsburg; one grandmother, Dorothy Jean Ramey of Tilton; his fiancee, Holly Jenkins of Winchester; and several nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins.
Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Alvin Ramey, Clyde Roberts and Lyda Mae Flora.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Boone-Nickell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Larry Eugene Mitchell
Larry Eugene Mitchell, 67, died suddenly at his home on June 27, 2006.
Mr. Mitchell was a 1956 graduate of Fleming County High School and attended Morehead State University. He was an Army veteran on active duty at Fort Chafee, Ark., during the Berlin Crisis.
Mr. Mitchell was a retired salesman for Sysco Foods of Cincinnati and was presently employed by FCH Home Medical Equipment Supplies. He was a member of the Ewing Baptist Church but for many years attended Flemingsburg Christian Church. He was a member of Park Lake Association, American Legion and the Fleming County Kiwanis B.U.G. Program (Bringing Up Grades) for fourth-grade students in Fleming County schools. He loved people, young and old, and making them laugh was his joy in life. He loved his grandchildren and most of all attending and supporting them in all their activities.
Born Aug. 6, 1938, he was the son of the late Arlie R. and Ruby Mitchell.
Surviving are his wife, Marilyn Shrout Mitchell with whom he celebrated their 45th anniversary on June 25; two sons, Adam (Lorie) of Lexington and Andrew (Ramona) of Flemingsburg; five grandchildren, Abraham, Aaron and Addison of Lexington and Andre "Evan" and Analiese of Flemingsburg; three sisters, Susan Flanery of Ewing, Linda (Bill) Stuteville of Indiana and Darlene (Charles) Simons of Louisville; his mother-in-law, Helen Shrout of Flemingsburg; two brothers-in-law, Rod (Sharon) Shrout of Louisville and Bill Mahan of Smithland; two uncles, Ray Ford and Ona Caudill of Ohio; and many friends.
Preceding him in death were one brother, Danny; his father-in-law, Herd Shrout; and a sister-in-law, Brenda Mahan.
Funeral services were conducted July 1 at the chapel of Denton-Workman Funeral Home with Rev. Norman Wasson officiating. Interment was in Fleming County Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Ewing Baptist Church or Flemingsburg Christian Church or Fleming County Kiwanis Scholarship Fund.
Danny Keith Story
Danny Keith Story, 47, of Marion, Ind., passed away June 21, 2006, in Marion General Hospital.
Born in Marion Oct. 3, 1958, he was the son of Marshall Story and Carolyn Helphenstine, both of Flemingsburg.
Mr. Story was employed by Labor Union 1112 of Muncie and was working with Bowman Construction. He loved playing the guitar and spending time with his grandson.
Surviving are a son, Joshua Keith Story of Marion; a grandson, Joshua Keith Story of Marion; a stepmother, Loretta Story of Flemingsburg; and a stepfather, Ronnie Helphenstine of Flemingsburg.
Preceding him in death were an uncle, David Story; and his grandparents, Lucille (Bryon) McClain and Buster (Billie) Story.
Funeral services were conducted June 24 at Grace Community Church in Marion with Rev. Marcus Combs officiating. Burial was in Grant Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to the trust fund for Joshua Story through Salin Bank, 1200 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, Ind.
Rodney G. Ruark
Rodney G. Ruark, 33, of School Street in Flemingsburg, passed away June 29, 2006.
Surviving are his father, Glen Ruark of Flemingsburg; one sister, Becky Ruark of Flemingsburg; three brothers, Roger and Ryan Ruark and Roger Wolfenbarger, all of Flemingsburg; one daughter and one son, Victoria and Tyler Glen Ruark of Flemingsburg; and numerous aunts, uncles and friends.
Preceding him in death was his mother, Vickie Vibbert.
Funeral services were conducted July 2 in the chapel at Denton-Workman Funeral Home in Flemingsburg with George Slone officiating. Burial was in the Goddard Cemetery.
