Kentucky Marriage Records by County

Retired miner Ellis Crum, 62, died Friday, January 29, at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center. Mr. Crum was born March 18, 1932, in Floyd County, to the late Oliver and Stella Conn Crum. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines.

Jones-Preston Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for Edsel Boyd, 84, who died Friday, January 29, at his Tomahawk residence. Mr. Boyd was born November 2, 1915, in Johnson County, to the late Charlie and Arizona Ward Boyd. He was a carpenter.

Kenneth L. Setser, 77, of Louisa, died Monday, February 1, at VA Medical Center in Huntington, West Virginia. Mr. Setser was born November 15, 1921, in Johnson County, to the late Walter and Lucy Sammons Setser. He was a self-employed electrician, Army veteran and member of the Church of Christ.

Funeral services were held Thursday, February 4, for Johnie Hazelett, 78, who died Saturday, January 30, at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Ypsilanti, Michigan. Mr. Hazelett was born January 13, 1921, in Johnson County, to the late Thomas and Hannah Collinsworth Hazelett. He was a painter and U.S. Army veteran.

Jones-Preston Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for Lora Vanderpool Young, 59, who died Monday, February 1, at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Young was born January 12, 1940, in Floyd County, to the late Kindle and Para Lea Campbell Vanderpool.

Former Johnson County resident Walter F. Lyons, 78, of Springfield, Ohio, died Tuesday, February 2. Mr. Lyons was born July 1, 1920, at Thealka, to the late William McKinley and Gypsy Fraley Lyons. He farmed for a number of years prior to working for International Harvester, retiring in 1978. He was a member of the First Assembly of God and UAW Local 402.

Grethel Jean Mollette Walters, 60, of North Ridgeville, Ohio, died Tuesday, February 2, at her residence. Mrs. Walters was born in Paintsville to Glades Mollette and the late William T. Mollette. She was a home health provider and attended Wellington Freewill Baptist Church.

Ruie Conley, 79, died Sunday, February 7, at her Greenup residence. Mrs. Conley was born May 27, 1919, at Argillite, to the late Doke and Sallie Conley Blanton.

Former Johnson County resident Frank Pennington, 83, died February 3, in Fairborn, Ohio. Mr. Pennington was born April 10, 1915, in Johnson County, to the late Jerry and Ellen Blair Pennington. He was a carpenter.

Oil Springs resident Bert Conley, 73, died Friday, February 5, at his residence. Mr. Conley was born July 6, 1925, in Floyd County, to the late Smith and Gracie Preston Conley. He was a pipefitter and veteran.

Paintsville Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for Marie Davis Ricketts Schaeff, 76, who died February 4 at Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy, Ohio. Mrs. Schaeff was born October 23, 1922, in Johnson County, to the late Clarence and Lydia Smith Davis.

Inis McKenzie Little, 98, died Thursday, February 4, at Wurtland Nursing Home. Mrs. Little was born April 12, 1900, in Floyd County, to the late Troy and Ida Stevens McKenzie.

John M. Hughes, 47, of Summitville, Indiana, formerly of Johnson County, died Sunday, February 7, at Marion General Hospital, Marion, Indiana. Mr. Hughes was born March 16, 1951, in Paintsville, to the late William and Florine Daniels Hughes. He was employed at Gen Corporation as an extruder operator, was committeeman and union steward of the United Steel Workers Union and was a member of Word of Life Church.

Funeral services will be held today, Friday, February 12, for Katherine Lemaster Rose, 71, who died Wednesday, February 10, at Highlands Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Rose was born August 24, 1927, in Johnson County, to the late Fred and Ruth Ward Lemaster. She was a member of Staffordsville Freewill Baptist Church.

Former Johnson County resident Hulda Spradlin Adams, 88, died Tuesday, February 9, in Baltimore, Ohio. Mrs. Adams was born October 28, 1910, in Johnson County, to the late Garfield and Virgie Lee Wiley Spradlin. She was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church.

Van Lear resident Faye Haley, 73, died Friday, February 12, at Highlands Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Haley was born June 13, 1925, in Pike County, to the late Duvall and Delphia Rowe Ramey Branham. She was a member of the Van Lear Freewill Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 16, for Lorine Castle Wells, 73, who died Sunday, February 14, at her Paintsville residence. Mrs. Wells was born December 13, 1925, in Pike County, to the late Luther and Ruth Cooper Castle.

Preston Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for Elijah Ray Mollette, 74, who died Monday, February 8, at the VA Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia. Mr. Mollette was born December 14, 1924, in Johnson County, to the late Ed and Rose Dutton Mollette. He was retired from IRC Fibers of Painesville, Ohio.

Former Johnson County resident Lucy Caudill, 93, died February 14 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. Mrs. Caudill was born December 26, 1905, at Oil Springs, to the late Elishia and Louise Caudill Jackson. She was a member of the Riceville Freewill Baptist Church.
