Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 14, for Northie Ward, 80, who died Sunday, April 11, at KCH Medical Center, Warsaw, Indiana. Mrs. Ward was born January 11, 1919, in Floyd County, to the late William and Ninnie Spears Fannin. She was a member of the Pentecostal church.

Benny J. (Dick) Bryant, 71, died Wednesday, April 14, at Highlands Regional Medical Center. Mr. Bryant was born October 28, 1927, in Pike County, to the late Will and Lasie Hale Bryant. He was a retired steel worker and veteran of World War II and the Korean War.

James "Buck" Conley, 68, of Salyersville, died Tuesday, April 6, at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center. Mr. Conley was born May 13, 1930, in Magoffin County, to the late Burnie and Zetephia Gullett Conley. He was a retired miner and welder and a member of the Freewill Baptist faith.

Graveside memorial services will be held Sunday, April 25, at 2 p.m. for Nellie Velasco, 72, who died Thursday, April 8, at Mountain Manor Nursing Home. Mrs. Velasco was born November 15, 1926, in Martin County, to the late Alex and Rena Gillespie. She was a waitress.

Debra Ann Lemaster, 43, died Tuesday, April 20, at her Williamsburg residence. Mrs. Lemaster was the daughter of Betty Lemaster of Williamsburg and the late Everett Lemaster Jr.

Rosemary Clifton Whitten Grigsby, 60, of Mousie, died Friday, April 23, at Highlands Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Grigsby was born December 3, 1938, in Knott County, to the late Aaron (Ernie) and Virginia Richmond Clifton. She was a retired school teacher from the Johnson County School System and member of the First Baptist Church at Mousie, Eastern Star #497 at Lowmansville and the Retired Teachers Association.

Funeral services were held Monday, April 26, for Raymond Crace, 59, who died April 23 at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center. Mr. Crace was born May 23, 1939, in Johnson County, to the late Guy B. and Dessie Hannah Crace. He was a laborer.

Funeral services will be held today, Wednesday, April 28, for Janet Stambaugh, 64, who died Sunday, April 25, at Cardinal Hill Rehabilitation Center in Lexington. Mrs. Stambaugh was born September 3, 1934, in Floyd County, to the late Darwin and Onda Wells Holbrook. She was a retired U.S. Postmaster.

Noah Christopher Melvin, son of Mark and Marlena Salyer Melvin, died Thursday, April 29, at King's Daughters' Medical Center. Noah Christopher was born April 29.

Paintsville Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for Carrie Ramey, 73, who died Wednesday, April 28, at her Patterson Creek residence. Mrs. Ramey was born July 17, 1925, in Lawrence County, to the late Dave and Effie Chandler Osborne.

Nick Jurich, 79, of Wilkesboro, North Carolina, died Thursday, April 29, at this residence. Mr. Jurich was born May 25, 1919, in Letcher County, to the late Lubin and Katherine Jurich. He was a member of Yadkin Valley Baptist Church, veteran of the Army, served during World War II and was awarded the Bronze Star, and was a lifelong member of the Jenkins Masonic Lodge.

Funeral services were held Monday, May 3, for Lorain Green, 62, who died Friday, April 30, at her Lowmansville residence. Mrs. Green was born April 4, 1937, in Johnson County, to the late James Monroe and Nancy Lee Cordle McKenzie.

Retired miner William Thomas Jacovitch, 75, died Thursday, April 29, at his Nippa residence. Mr. Jacovitch was born July 30, 1923, in Minnesota, to the late Nickoli and Domnica Nichitory Jacovitch. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Paintsville resident Hazel May VanHoose, 83, died Wednesday, April 28, at Mountain Manor Nursing Home. Mrs. VanHoose was born June 12, 1915, in Johnson County, to the late Mart and Selina Ward VanHoose. She was a member of the United Baptist Church.

Former Johnson County resident Freddie Caudill, 78, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, died April 16 at his residence. Mr. Caudill was born October 30, 1920, in Johnson County, to the late Luther and Lillia Spradlin Caudill. He was a member of the Beechwall United Baptist Church and a retired railroad machine operator.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow, Saturday, May 8, for Harold D. Fairchild, 60, who died May 4 at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center. Mr. Fairchild was born January 9, 1939, in Johnson County, to Erie Blanton Fairchild and the late Eugene Fairchild.

Jones-Preston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for Mabel Lewis, 81, who died Tuesday, May 4, at Highlands Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Lewis was born August 23, 1917, in Johnson County, to the late Sherman and Hattie VanHoose Lemaster.

Volga resident Esther Adams, 85, died Wednesday, May 5, at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Adams was born February 6, 1914, in Morgan County, to the late Lee Franklin and Sarah Smith Rigsby.

Herbert L. Hackney, 80, died Thursday, May 6, at Martin County Health Care Facility, Inez. Mr. Hackney was born December 23, 1918, in Johnson County, to the late Charles H. and Zee Short Hackney. He was a pipefitter and welder and Army veteran of World War II.

Alta Louise Conley, 68, died Thursday, May 6, in Columbus Community Hospital, Columbus, Ohio.Mrs. Conley was born January 27, 1931, in Louisa, to the late Sheridan and Mary Jane Wilson Cyrus. She was retired from Ird Mechanalysis of Columbus.

Funeral services for Otto Greer, 79, of Betsy Layne, will be held today, Wednesday, May 12. Mr. Greer was born February 1, 1920, in Floyd County, to the late Oscar and Laura Ward Greer. He was a former welder with Brandeis.

Former West Van Lear resident Mary Lousia Pelphrey Lovett, 63, died May 3 at her Toledo, Ohio, residence. Mrs. Lovett was born December 20, 1935, in Johnson County, to the late Everett and Marie Pelphrey.
