Funeral services will be today, Friday, June 4, for Alta Blair, 84, who died Tuesday, June 1, at her Riceville residence. Mrs. Blair was born August 25, 1914, in Johnson County, to the late Walter Frank and Katie Conley Blair.

Jones-Preston Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for Carl Michael "Mike" Crothers, 47, who died Tuesday, June 1, at Mountain Manor Nursing Home. Mr. Crothers was born February 26, 1952, in Monterey, Tennessee, to the late Thomas Nicholas and Colleen Price Crothers. He was an RN anesthetist.

Paintsville Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for Charlotte Elaine Reynolds, 62, who died Thursday, June 3, at Highlands Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Reynolds was born February 11, 1937, in Johnson County, to Sylvia Slone and the late George Slone.

Richard Spradlin Huestis, 19, died Friday, May 28, in Randle, Washington. Mr. Huestis was born December 7, 1979, in Morton, Washington, to Glen Richard and Della Spradlin Huestis. He was a student.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 5, for James (Abb) Litton, 63, who died June 2 at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington. Mr. Litton was born December 30, 1935, in Johnson County, to the late Willie T. and Flaire Aldridge Litton.

Paintsville resident Alma Fairchild McCarty, 75, died Friday, May 28, at Highlands Regional Medical Center. Mrs. McCarty was born May 6, 1924, in Johnson County, to the late James and Louise Howard Fairchild.

Marie Fyffe, 90, died Wednesday, June 2, at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center. Fyffe was born November 10, 1908, in Johnson County, to the late Loranzo Dowell and Phoebe Pennington Holbrook.

Carl F. Stanley, 68, of Prestonsburg, died Wednesday, June 2, at Veterans Hospital in Lexington. Mr. Stanley was born August 4, 1930, in Floyd County, to Carmia Wireman Stanley and the late Roosevelt Stanley. He was a disabled Army veteran, having served in the Korean War.

Retired electrical lineman Joe Pack Jr., 73, died Wednesday, June 2, at his Thelma residence. Mr. Pack was born December 31, 1926, in Pike County, to the late Joe Sr. and Hazel Talbert Pack. He was retired from Big Sandy RECC.

Former Johnson County resident Hoy M. Preston, 81, died Thursday, June 3, in Friendville, Tennessee. Mr. Preston was born February 14, 1918, in Johnson County, to the late N.M. and Rosa Daniels Preston. He was retired from Simmons Mattress Factory.

Joseph M. Minton, 72, of Dade City, Florida, died Saturday, May 29, at East Pasco Medical Center in Dade City. A native of Hager Hill, Minton moved to Florida in 1961. He was a retired truck driver.

Sherman Jones, 51, died Monday, June 7, at his Warsaw, Indiana, residence. Mr. Jones was born December 19, 1947, in Wabash, Indiana, to Ruby Cole Jones and the late Earle Jones. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Warsaw and owner of Sherman and Lin's Discount Grocery in Warsaw.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 10, for Kendrick Bruce Blanton, 52, who died Monday, June 7, at Salyersville Health Care Center. Mr. Blanton was born October 25, 1946, in Johnson County, to the late Haskell and Luda Jones Blanton. He was a disabled heavy equipment operator. He has an Honorable Discharge from the U.S. Army.

Malta Mae Ward, 96, died Sunday, June 6, at Mountain Manor Nursing Home. Mrs. Ward was born December 8, 1902, in Johnson County, to the late Allen Thomas and Rhuemma VanHoose Sublett.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 12, for Martha A. Long, 74, who died Wednesday, June 9, at St. Joseph Hospital, Lexington. Mrs. Long was born March 6, 1925, in Johnson County to the late William and Lucinda Blair Arms.

Sherman Jones, 51, died Monday, June 7, at his Warsaw, Indiana, residence. Mr. Jones was born December 19, 1947, in Wabash, Indiana, to Ruby Cole Jones and the late Earle Jones. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Warsaw and owner of Sherman and Lin's Discount Grocery in Warsaw.

Sharon Kay Colburn Ruth, 48, died Thursday, June 17, at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Ruth was born May 28, 1951, in Pike County, to the late Raymond and Nellie Mollett Colburn.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 22, for John Dennison "Jack" Flournoy, 84, who died Saturday, June 19, at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center. Mr. Flournoy was born October 20, 1914, in Hurtsboro, Alabama, to the late John Milton and Ollie Lee Denson Flournoy.

Jones-Preston Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for Mollie Gullett, 88, who died Thursday, June 17, at Mountain Manor Nursing Home. Mrs. Gullett was born March 25, 1911, in Johnson County, to the late Laud and Nora Collins McFaddin.

Paul E. Wood, 92, died June 5 at Beverly Health & Rehabilitation Center, Englewood, Florida. Mr. Wood was a precision gauge maker at Allison Division of General Motors. He also worked in Indianapolis at B & H Toll, Die Maker and Vickery Engineering, retiring in 1972. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Englewood and Belleville Masonic Lodge F&AM in Indiana.

Funeral services will be held today, Wednesday, June 23, for Alpha Robinson Lankford, 95, who died Sunday, June 20, at Highlands Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Lankford was born January 29, 1904, in Pike County, to the late Richard and Catherine Slone Robinson.

Betty Jean Horne, 69, died Monday, June 21, in East Lawn Manor, Marion, Ohio. Mrs. Horne was born April 27, 1930, in Marion, to the late Lewis E. and Bernice Hunt Ulery. She attended Allegheny Wesleyan Methodist Church, was a member of American Legion Post 584, was a Gold Star Daughter and had worked as a nurses aid at East Lawn Manor.
