Louis Kriener Jr., 86, of Shelby Street, Junction City, died Thursday at Danville Centre for Health and Rehabilitation. Born Oct. 20, 1912, in Junction City, he was a son of the late Louis M. and Jersey Gessinger Kriener. He was a teacher and basketball coach at Junction City and Boyle County high schools. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, a graduate of Centre College, a member of Junction City Christian Church. He was the widower of Mary Hale Kriener. Survivors include a daughter, Mary Lou Barnett of Shelbyville; a sister, Jersey Clark of Columbus S.C.; and two grandchildren. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Stith Funeral Home by Gary Story. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be after noon Saturday. Memorials may go to Heritage Hospice or American Cancer Society.

Bertice Reynolds Jr.
PERRYVILLE -- Bertice Reynolds Jr., 72, of South Buell Street, husband of Betty Grace Reynolds, died Thursday at his home. Arrangements are incomplete at Wilder Funeral Home.

LIBERTY -- George Carlis Anderson, 50, of Russell Springs, died Wednesday at Veterans Administration Medical Center, Lexington. Born Jan. 16, 1949, in Pulaski County, he was a son of the late Milford Anderson and Dona Dick Anderson Miller. He was a former truck driver and an Army veteran having served in Vietnam. Survivors include his wife, Judy C. Haggard Anderson; a daughter, Rhonda Anderson of Germany; two sons, Rodney Anderson of Tennessee, and Keith Pittman of Liberty; three stepdaughters, Kysha, Angel and Genaviev Wynn, all of Harlan County; a step son, Samson Wynn of Harlan County; a brother, Millard J. Anderson of Liberty; two grandchildren; and three step grandchildren. Graveside services were held today at Willow Springs Cemetery by the Rev. Edward Parton with military rites by the Casey County Funeral Squad. Bartle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

STANFORD -- Jesse Lee Young, 78, of Halls Gap, died Thursday at Pattie A. Clay Hospital in Richmond. Born May 22, 1921, in Paint Lick, he was a son of the late Elmer and Lillie Hale Young. He was a retired farmer and a member of Mount Moriah Christian Church. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Gerkey Young; a son, Dudley K. Young of Stanford; two daughters, Joyce Holloway of Stanford and Shirley Peck of Halls Gap; three brothers, Elmer Young Jr. of Waynesburg, Marvin W. Young of Somerset and William Sexton of Harrodsburg; a sister, Irene Fields of Lancaster; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Fox Funeral Home by Rob Cox and Virgil Horseman. Burial will be in Mount Moriah Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Saturday.

Services for Doris Pollard Baer, 74, of O'Hara Drive, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at First Christian Church and by the Revs. Norman Hagley and Caroline Bloomfield. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery. She died Thursday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. Born June 8, 1925, in Danville, she was a daughter of the late Charles K. and Lettie M. Kelley Pollard. She was a homemaker, a deacon of First Christian Church, a graduate of Parksville High School. She had served eight years as a member of the Danville Board of Education. She was and a former volunteer and supporter of the Christian Children's Home, and a member and past treasurer of the Democratic Women's Club. Survivors include her husband, Harold B. "Buddy" Baer; two sons, Jeffrey Baer of Harrodsburg and Joel Baer of Cambridge, Mass.; a daughter, Jennifer K. Bell of Louisville; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Pallbearers will be Mike Perros, George Cunningham, Bill Stevens, Tony Wilder, Stephen Shewmaker, Richard Campbell and P. Joseph Clarke. Honorary pallbearers are deacons of First Christian Church. She died Wednesday at Fort Logan Hospital. Born May 21, 1911, in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late James and Mary Wyler Shaw. She was a homemaker and a former employee of Cowden Manufacturing Co. She was a member of Beech Grove Baptist Church and the widow of W.T. Blankenship. Survivors include two sons, Tom Blankenship and Billy Shaw Blankenship, both of Preachersville; three sisters, Ann Calloway of Crab Orchard, Rose James of Stanford and Emma James of Dayton, Ohio; and two grandsons. Pallbearers will be Rudolph Wyler, Jim Calloway, Charles Brummett, Harry Helton, Orville Whitaker and Theo Nantz. Survivors include four sons, Adolphus Gooch, Clifton Gooch Arnold L. Gooch and James C. Gooch, all of Kings Mountain; three daughters, Edith Luttrell of Kings Mountain, Mary E. Cornett of Sidney, Ohio, and Shirley Fairbanks of Decatur, Tenn.; five sisters, Rosetta Greer and Ada Snow, both of Kings Mountain, Bessie Leigh of Castleberry, Fla., Effie Jones of Waynesburg and Martha Jones of Bethel, Ohio; 19 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren. He was a former owner of Sandusky Mill and Houchin Trucking Co. He was the widower of Ruby Lorena Hugh Houchin, a member of Har-rodsburg Christian Church where he served as a deacon, and a member of Harrodsburg Kiwanis Club. Survivors include a son, Gary Houchin of Harrodsburg; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Graveside services are scheduled for 2 p.m. today at Spring Hill Cemetery by the Rev. David Hartman. He was a truck driver for Royce Campbell and Sons Co., and a veteran of the Korean War, a member of Dunnville Christian Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Survivors include his wife, Laneer Terry Wilkerson; a son, Scott Wilkerson of Seymour, Ind.; and two grandchildren. Born March 2, 1909, in Crab Orchard, she was a daughter of the late Anderson and Molly Watson Benge. She was a homemaker and widow of Homer Denney. She was a member of New Hope First Church of God. Born July 27, 1928, in Lancaster, he was a son of the late Thomas H. and Margaret Edwards. He was a sergeant major with the Kentucky National Guard for 42 years, a member of Centenary United Methodist Church and a Navy veteran of World War II. Survivors include a sister, Marjorie E. Charles Robert "Charlie Bob" Vaught, 65, of Coldstream Drive, died Tuesday at Central Baptist Hospital, Lexington. Born July 26, 1934, in Dabney, he was a son of the late Charles and Lola McKinney Vaught. He was a retired general chairman for the Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen and served as a trustee. He had been a signalman for Norfolk Southern Railway, was a member of Lexington Avenue Baptist Church, and a Kentucky Colonel. Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou Renner Vaught; three daughters, Jennifer L. Vaught of Danville, Amy L. Dailey of Batavia, Ohio, and Beth Bowell of Lexington; a brother, Jack Vaught of Somerset; three sisters, Charlene Denny and Betty Herrin, both of Somerset, and Delores Irvine of Westchester, Ohio; and a granddaughter. He was a retired carpenter and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Grace Dohoney Horn; a son, W.R. He was a retired worker for Dawson's Lumber Co. and a World War II Army veteran. She was a long-time member of Harrodsburg Baptist Church. Survivors include two sisters, Mary K. Heath and Minnie Fay Whittaker, both of Louisville; a nephew; and four nieces.
