ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- George S. Harpole, 76, formerly of Henderson, died at 4:15 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24, 1998, at his home here. He was a member of The Travelers Protective Association of America in Henderson. He was also former owner and operator of H & H Liquors Inc. and Harpole's Liquors Inc. and was former co-owner of Henderson Distributing Co. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Marion N.; one daughter, Kim Murphy of Henderson; three sons, George E. Harpole of London, England, Roger D. Harpole of St. Petersburg and Keith A. Harpole of Henderson; one sister, Sarah Ward of Henderson; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Arrangements are pending at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home. Camille Hedges Carvill
DAYTON, Ohio -- Camille Hedges Carvill, 82, Dayton, formerly of Morganfield, died Monday, Nov. 23, 1998. A longtime member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, she was a graduate of Morganfield High School and the University of Kentucky, where she was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority. She was also a retired executive of Buckeye Trails Girl Scout Council and a volunteer with the Greater Dayton Christian Council and the Miami Valley Literacy Council. Survivors include one daughter, Barbara Cline of Trotwood, Ohio; one son, Bob Carvill of Naples, Fla.; one brother, Bill Hedges of Henderson; and two grandchildren. Graveside services will be held sometime in December at Masonic Cemetery in Morganfield. Routsong Funeral Home in Dayton is in charge of arrangements.

Richard S. "Cotton" Young
STURGIS -- Richard S. "Cotton" Young, 82, Sturgis, died at 7:25 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24, 1998, at Holiday Manor Nursing Home in Princeton, Ind. A retired U.S. Postal Service employee of 32 years, he was a past commander of Sullivan Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 5486 and was associated with the Masonic Lodge. He was also a World War II veteran and a member of Bethany Baptist Church. Survivors include one daughter, Penelope W. West of Princeton, Ind.; two sons, Richard T. Young and Robert B. Young, both of Sturgis; three sisters, Hilda Wells of Pride, Elizabeth Brown of Sturgis and Edna Bugher of Evansville ; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Whitsell Funeral Home in Sturgis. Brother Mike DeMoss will officiate. Burial will be in Pythian Ridge Cemetery in Sturgis. PROVIDENCE -- Virginia Dale Parker Lindsey, 57, Providence, died at 2:10 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24, 1998, at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville. A nurses aid for IHS Home Health, she was a member of Silent Run Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Joe Parker Lindsey Sr.; one daughter, Debra King of Madisonville; two stepdaughters, Jeanette Baldwin of Hanson and Renae Baldwin of Nortonville; one son, Tony King of Madisonville; two stepsons, Joe Parker Lindsey Jr. and Owen Matthew Lindsey, both of Madisonville; her mother, Nettie Clorine Parker of Madisonville; two sisters, Joyce Choate of Clarksville, Tenn., and Sue Jones of Earlington; six brothers, Billy Parker of Crittenden County, Jimmy Parker and David Parker, both of Rabbit Ridge, Ky., Paul Parker of Sturgis, Jackie Parker of Dawson Springs and Jerry Parker of Benton, Ky.; and nine stepgrandchildren. A U.S. Air Force veteran, he attended St. Benedict Catholic Church in Evansville. Survivors include his fiancee, Lena Symreng of Newburgh; two daughters, Theresa Day of Nashville, Tenn., and Elizabeth Hoffman of Bowling Green; one son, Michael Day of Evansville; two sisters, Mary Martha Byrne of Owensboro and Marilyn Day of Henshaw, Ky.; one brother, Richard Day of Henderson; two grandchildren; nieces and nephews. A U.S. Navy veteran, he was a retired director of human resources for Brown and Williamson Tobacco Corp. Survivors include his wife, Mary Faye; one daughter, Leslie Baumgartner; three sons, Jeffery Baumgartner, Aaron Baumgartner and Eric Baumgartner; his mother, Vontella Baumgartner; one sister, Patty Jo Ewing; three brothers, Bill Baumgartner, Mike Baumgartner and Bob Baumgartner; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, William Ray Norris, who died in 1989. CLAY -- Mary Lou Lovan, 71, Clay, died at 2:03 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1998, at the Regional Medical Center in Madisonville from a heart condition. She was a member of the Archie Wallace Missionary Society, past member of the Wheatcroft Eastern Star and a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Clay. Survivors include husband, Paul Wayne Lovan; two daughters, Donna Reed of Dalton, Ky., and Laura Phelan of Cedar Knolls, N.J.; two sons, Bill Black of Julian, N.C., and Norman Lovan of Richland, Mich.; three sisters, Norma Harris of Clay, Barbara Hopper of Wheatcroft and Glenna Hunt of Charlotte, Fla.; 11 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Providence and retired after 30 years as the owner and operator of Traylor Furniture. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lorell A. Traylor in 1994. Survivors include one son, Lorell Albert Traylor Jr. of Providence; two granddaughters and two great-grandsons. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Townsend-Jones Funeral Home. Of the Baptist faith, she worked for the Henderson County school system as a lunchroom manager for Weaverton Elementary and East Heights Elementary, until retiring in 1978. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Martha Louise Parrish, who died in 1944, and one son, Robert L.V. Parrish, who died in 1967. Survivors include her husband of 74 years, Alvie D.; one daughter, Mrs. R.J. "Mildred" Shoulders of Henderson; one son, Paul Parrish of Henderson; five grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Tapp Funeral Home. A U.S. Army Korean War veteran, he was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the American Legion Post in Sebree. He was also a retired truck driver for Walt's Drive-Away Company in Evansville. He was preceded in death by one stepson, Jessie Fulcher, who died in 1995.
