Albert Morse Robertson, 72, 527 North Main Street, died Sunday, August 22, 1999 at the Thomson-Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore. Born June 24, 1927 in Salvisa, he was the son of the late Gilbert and Lillian Nichols Robertson. He retired from the Brown and Williamson Tobacco Company and was a veteran of both the US Navy and US Army, a member of the American Legion and DAV. He was a member of the Harrodsburg United Methodist Church. Survivors include: one daughter, Sandra R. Robertson, Lexington; one son, Michael M. Robertson, Springfield; one sister, Rosalyn Hammond, Lexington; two grandchildren. Graveside services were conducted Tuesday, August 24, in Spring Hill Cemetery by Rev. Mark Girard. Pallbearers were Billy Joe Hill, Bob Davenport, Lonnie Haydon, Jimmy Sanders, Lucian Landers and Jim Powell. Memorials are suggested to the Thomson-Hood Veterans Center, 100 Veterans Drive, Wilmore, KY 40390. McClellan Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

JOHN McGEE
John Jackson McGee V, 65, of Maple Avenue, Danville, died Thursday, August 19, 1999, at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington. Born September 19, 1933 in Mercer County, he was a son of the late Rosalind Bottom and John J. McGee IV. He was the widower of Martha Hankla McGee. He was a retired banker for Melon Bank in Pittsburgh, PA, after 33 years. He was a member of the Pittsburgh Rotary Club and The Presbyterian Church in Danville. Survivors include: two sons, James W. S. McGee, Huntington Beach, CA and John McGee VI, Highland Heights; two daughters, Laura Batchelder and Anne McGee, both of Pittsburgh; one brother, Lew Perrin McGee, Fayette County; and a fiancé, Betty D. Weisinger Lawson, Danville; 12 grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday, August 23, at The Presbyterian Church, Danville, by Rev. Thomas K. Farmer. Burial was in New Providence Cemetery, Harrodsburg.

Lawrence W. Carr, 79, of 122 Russell Street, Burgin, widower of Laura Frances Walters Carr, died Saturday, August 21, 1999 at his residence. Born March 18, 1920 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Omar and Edna Jane Dean Carr, Sr. He was a retired farmer and factory worker, and a member of the Harrodsburg Christian Church. Survivors include: three sons, Johnnie Carr, Burgin, Glenn and Rufus Carr, both of Harrodsburg; one daughter, Brenda Sue Carr, Burgin; one brother, Lynn Carr, Corinth; five sisters, Eleanor Curtis, Corinth, Betty Johnson, Georgetown, Jean Dearinger, Harrodsburg, Iris Hardin, Mercer County, and Rachel Sanders, Burgin; 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, William Michael Carr and one brother, Sonny Carr. Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 24, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Wayne Kelly officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Greg Carr, Scott Carr, Michael Carr, Craig Middleton, Bill Brennan and David Campbell. LEONA PRICE
Leona Virginia Price, 78, of 631 Main Street Burgin, died Thursday, August 19, 1999 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville. Born April 16, 1921 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Grover and Huldia Carey Peavler and the widow of James Price. She was retired after 23 years as a cashier for the Harrodsburg Board of Education. She was a member of the Shawnee Run Baptist Church and a member of the Dorcas Sunday School Class of the church. Survivors include: two daughters, Mrs. Jimmy (Gayle) Howard, Mercer County, Mrs. Dale (Wanda) (Bunny) Whited of Burgin; one sister, Mrs. Jimmie (Lorine) Minton, Burgin; two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, A. G. Peavler. Funeral services were held Sunday, August 22, at the Shawnee Run Baptist Church with Rev. Lester Tirey and Rev. Fred Knickerbocker officiating. Burial was in the Shawnee Run Cemetery. Pallbearers were Billy Minton, Stephen Minton, Andrew Minton, Willard Hamm, Bobby Carpenter, Hugh Smith and Donnie Webb. Honorary bearers were members of the Dorcas Sunday School Class of the Shawnee Run Baptist Church.

Lois Bell Stevens Adcock, 82, formerly of Earl Street, Danville, died Friday at Danville Centre for Health and Rehabilitation. Born March 10, 1917 in Pulaski County, she was the daughter of the late William and Martha Moore Stevens. She was the widow of Paul G. Adcock. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Danville. Survivors include: a son, Warren L. "Deacon" Adcock, Danville; two grandchildren, whom she raised, Liz Burke, Stanford, and Dawn Camic, Danville; two additional grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Grace J. Essig. Graveside services were held Monday, August 23, at the Bellevue Cemetery in Danville by Rev. Timothy Mathis.

Ralph "Peck" League, 75, of 441 West Office Street, died Friday, August 20, 1999 at the Sun Bridge-Pimlico Nursing Home in Lexington. He was a native of Mercer County and the son of the late Hugh Watson and Maggie Bell Zimmerman League. He was a former lawn care worker and loved dogs. Survivors include: a brother, Dalton League, Harrodsburg; a sister, Lois Goodlett, Harrodsburg, with whom he lived. He was preceded in death by his foster mother, Mrs. Eula Hart Woods and a brother, Paul League. Funeral services were held Monday, August 23, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. James Harley officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Pete Barnes and Gerald Sheperson.

Ralph William Phillips Jr., 61, of Greenville Street, died Wednesday, August 18, 1999 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville. Born April 14, 1938 in Paintsville, he was the son of Elsie Mann Phillips and the late Ralph Phillips Sr. He was a retired teacher and a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. He had served as minister of music at several area churches. Survivors, in addition to his mother, include: his wife, Maxine Long Phillips, Danville; two sons, Greg Phillips, Danville, Barry Phillips, Pendelton; one daughter, Pam Burns, LaGrange; four brothers, Ross Phillips, Lexington, Tom Dick Phillips, Harrodsburg, David Phillips, Warsaw, IN, and Chuck Phillips, Junction City; three sisters, Ruth Whyde, Indianapolis, IN, Nancy Cornish and Rita Lance, both of Harrodsburg; eight grandchildren. Funeral services were held Friday, August 20, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with James Harley and Ernest Martin officiating. Burial was in Danville Memorial Gardens. Leatrice Rose Honshul, 67, of 1277 Berea Road, Richmond, died Monday, August 23, 1999, at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center in Lexington. Born October 7, 1931 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Herman Graham and Edna Cosby Creech. She was an employee of the University of Kentucky in the housekeeping department. She was a Baptist. Survivors include: two sons, James A. Honshul of Jessamine County, Michael Honshul of Richmond; one daughter, Regina C. Stone, Garrard County; one brother, Herman Gordon Graham, Marietta, GA; one sister, Mrs. Norma Sue Hall, Madison County; three grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 26, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Rev. Harry Revel officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be William Kevin Graham, John Everett Graham, James Lunsford, Michael Martin, Russell Tracy and Peter Poersch. Warren Fredrick "Skip" Bradley, 48, of 615 North Main Street, Lawrenceburg, died Monday, August 23, 1999 at his residence. He was born March 28, 1951 in Aberdeen Maryland, the son of the late Lonard and Edith Bedford Bradley. He was an employee of the former Reliance Electric, Inc., and worked for Shryock s Bourbon Shoppe in Lawrenceburg. He attended Appalachian State University on a football scholarship and Decator Junior College. He was an avid musician and song writer. Survivors include: his wife of 15 years, Lisa Elliott Bradley, formerly of Mercer County; a son, Nathan Elliott Bradley, Lawrenceburg; two daughters, Jenna Leigh Bradey, Lawrenceburg, and Diane Camille "Callie" Bradley, Manassas, VA. He was preceded in death by a sister, Kathy. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 26, at the Ritchie-Peach-Todd Funeral Home in Lawrenceburg. There will be no visitation. Mal Bruner, 87, of Heritage Hall Care Center, formerly of Highland Drive, Lawrenceburg, died Monday, August 23, 1999, at Heritage Hall. A Mercer County native, he was the son of the late Thomas Jackson and Margaret Nolan Bruner. He was a former cab driver with the Manley Cab Company and a member of the Shawnee Run Baptist Church. Survivors include: two daughters, Janette Wilson, LaGrange, and Kay Fint, Lawrenceburg; a brother, Cal Bruner, Liberty; seven grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Peggy Campbell, a granddaughter, Robin Jones, a great granddaughter, Janice Renee Jones and several brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 26, at the Ritchie-Peach-Todd Funeral Home with Bro. Dennis Norton officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. Bobbie Jean Lindsey, 61, of 184 Gritton Road, Salvisa, died Tuesday, August 24, 1999 at her residence. Born January 11, 1938 in Lexington, she was the daughter of Ailene Bussell Whalen, Salvisa, and the late William O. Whalen Sr. She had worked as a data entry operator for GTE Telephone company and was a member of the Broadway Baptist Church in Lexington. Survivors, in addition to her mother, include: her husband, Jackie Lindsey, Salvisa; one brother, William Whalen Jr., Salvisa; two sisters, Doris Knox, Harrodsburg and Brenda Evans, Salvisa. Born December 4, 1911 in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of the late Clay D. and Pearl Stratton Camic. She was the widow of Lon Hungate. She was a retired seamstress for Cricketeer Manufacturing and was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church. She also worked as a craftsman at Old Fort Harrod State Park for 20 years. Survivors include: three daughters, Ruby Cloyd and Louise Lyons, both of Harrodsburg, Anna Stevens, Lexington; one son, James Donald Brown, Shelbyville; two brothers, Clifton Camic, Anderson County and J. C. Camic, Louisville; five sisters, Goldie Beasley and Susie Cox, both of Anderson County, Ruby Robinson, Ramsey, IN, Pauline Kirby, Louisville, Margie Perry, Waddy; 12 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Camic. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 26, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, with James Harley officiating. She was owner and operator of the Harrodsburg Antique Mall, a member of the Harrodsburg Christian Church and the Bethany Sunday School Class. Survivors include: her husband, C. M. Shewmaker Jr., Harrodsburg; two sons, Tony E. Shewmaker and Calvin M. Shewmaker III, both of Harrodsburg; one daughter, Linda Shewmaker Hood, Harrodsburg; three brothers, James Ellis, Mercer County, Horace Ellis, Harrodsburg, and Elwood Ellis Jr., Lakeland, FL; one sister, Viola Ellis Castleberry, Adel, GA; six grandchildren. Winfield Scott Gabhart, 79, 544 Aspen Hall Drive, died Friday, August 27, 1999, at his residence. Born in Harrodsburg, August 19, 1920, he was the son of the late Dr. Winfield Scott and Marie Jameson Gabhart. A Harrodsburg lawyer, farmer and antique show manager, he was a 1942 graduate of Centre College, where he was a member of Beta Theta Pi Fraternity and a 1947 graduate of the University of Louisville School of Law. He was a member and elder of the New Providence Presbyterian Church. Survivors include: his wife, Nancy Milby Gabhart, Harrodsburg; two daughters, Nancy Jameson Middleton, New York City and Stonington, CT, and Elizabeth Tannon, Louisville; two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Lucille Huddleston. Funeral services were conducted Monday, August 30, at the McClellan Funeral Home by Rev. Guy Newland, Rev. John Duncan, and Rev. Jon Jones. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Bill Lively, Bill Curry, Tom Moore, Charlie Burton, Brent Drury, Harold Lanham and Dr. Rick Angel. Born June 20, 1921 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Ezra and Rose Shewmaker Teater. He worked for 30 years in the purchasing department of Corning glass, Inc. and was a former co-owner of Yesterday Antiques in Burgin. He was a veteran of the US Coast Guard, an elder at Burgin Christian Church, and a former member of the Burgin Lions Club Survivors include: his wife, Dolores Perkins Teater, Burgin; two daughters, Mrs. Mike (Lisa) Miller, Nicholasville and Mrs. Kenneth (Linda) Matlock, Somerville, SC; four grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services were held Monday, August 30, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Caldwell-Reiss officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery. Born July 27, 1907 in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of the late Robert Edward and Garna Marshall Royalty Currens and was the widow of T. A. Wash. She was as retired licensed practical nurse for Haggin Hospital and was a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church, the Women's Missionary Society, The Harrodsburg Historical Society, the Women's Club and the LPN Association. Survivors include: three nieces, Anne G. Clark, Louisville; Betty C. Morton, TN, Patsy C. Johnson, FL; two nephews, W. E. "Woody" Currens, Louisville and David Currens, FL; a cousin, Grace Champion, Mercer County; sister-in-law, Ora Currens, FL; nine great nieces and three great nephews. Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 31, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Rick Snyder officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were John R. Clark, Woody E.
