Mrs. Effie Jo Freeman Lambert, 85, of 115 N. Greenville St., died Saturday, March 4, 1995 at Summerfield Manor in Louisville. Born October 31, 1909 in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Devine and Bettie Lester Devine. She was a seamstress at Sportleigh Hall, a psychiatric aide at Kentucky State Hospital and a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. Survivors include: one daughter, Mrs. Holly R. (Betsy) Long, Louisville; one son, William Dalton Freeman, Lebanon; one brother, Raymond B. Devine, Owensboro; six grandchildren, four step grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Services for Mrs. Lambert were held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 7 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with the Rev. James Harley officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Royce Cornish, Dennis Shewmaker, Lewis Brewer, Billy Hill, O. T. Baker and David Young. Memorial contributions are suggested to Fellowship Baptist Church.

Mrs. Mattie Ross Coslow, 83, of 622 Belmont Court, died Friday, March 10, 1995 at the emergency room of the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital. A native of Washington County, she was born March 20, 1911 to the late Robert and Eliza Lambert Ross. She was the widow of Lee Coslow who died February 26, 1979. She was a member of the Mt. Zion Church of Christ Survivors include: two sons, R. C. and John Coslow, both of Willisburg; one daughter, Mrs. Haldon (Wanda) Wilham of Harrodsburg; two sisters, Mrs. Almeda Young, Harrodsburg and Mrs. Johnny Ancil (Anna Belle) Beavers of Battle; seven grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Ben, Robert D. and James Wagner Ross. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 12 at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Rob Harbison and the Rev. Millard Ledford, officiating. Burial was in Battle Cemetery. Pallbearers were David Coslow, Lonnie Thompson, Mark Terrell, Freddie Leonard, Randall Burns and Hughes Coslow.

RONALD WATTS
Mr. Ronald J. Watts, 48, 1338 Delaware Dr., Georgetown, died Wednesday, March 8, 1995 at his residence. Born August 16, 1946 in Mercer County he was the son of Nellie Ella Watts and the late Raymond Thomas Watts, Sr. He was a truck driver for G. H. E., Inc. of Nicholasville and a member of Victory Baptist Temple in Georgetown. Survivors include: his wife Marietta Goodlett Watts, Georgetown; a son, Ronald Scott Watts, Georgetown; his mother, Nellie Ella Watts, Harrodsburg; two brothers, Kenneth Dale Watts, Georgetown and Raymond Watts, Jr. Harrodsburg; five sisters, Georgia Weldon, Sellersburg, IN, Beverly Griffin, Mary Baker, Viola Baker, and Ruby Chambers, all of Harrodsburg. Services for Mr. Watts were held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, March 10 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Bro. Everett Trainor and Bro. Billy G. Fayne officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery. Mr. Horace M. Stratton, 69, 1708 Perryville Road, died Sunday March 12, 1995 at the Haggin Memorial Hospital. Born April 21, 1925 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late H. M. Stratton, Sr. and Virdye B. Stratton. He was a retired Co-owner of the Farm Bureau Insurance Company, a member of the Bethel Baptist Church, Glad Hand Sunday School Class, American Legion, VFW, American Radio Relay League, Past Treasurer of the Mercer Co. Republican Party (25 years), member of the UK Alumni Association and a former member of the Mercer Co. Planning and Zoning Committee. He was an army veteran of WW II. Survivors include: his wife, Mary Frances Robinson Stratton, Harrodsburg; one son, Horace M. Kenny Stratton III, Harrodsburg; one daughter, Ann Robinson S. Donnally, South Port, NC; a sister, Evelyn S. Matix, Louisville; one brother, N. B. "Polie" Stratton, Harrodsburg; and one grandson. He was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Johnstone. Services for Mr. Stratton were held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 15 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Dr. Robert DeFoor officiating. MARTHA HOWARD
Mrs. Martha Long Howard, 95, died Sunday March 12, 1995 at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington. A native of Loyall, Harlan County, she was born May 4, 1899. She was the widow of Ely Howard. She was a member of the Loyall Church of Christ and Eastern Star 309, Harrodsburg and had lived in Harrodsburg for 22 years. Survivors include: a daughter, Zolema H. Fain, Harrodsburg; one granddaughter, Mrs. Ernest (Trula Gayle) Arnett, Harrodsburg; two great grandchildren, Ernie T. Arnett and Mrs. John (Donna Sue) McGrath, and one great great grandchild. Services for Mrs. Howard were held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 15 at the Anderson-Laws Funeral Chapel in Harlan with the Rev. John D. Lambert officiating. Burial was in Resthaven Cemetery in Loyall.

SQUIRE JOHNSON
Mr. Squire B. Johnson, 85, of 108 West Court Street, Burgin died Tuesday, March 14, 1995 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville. Born September 20, 1909 in Boyle county he was the son of the late Lou Allen and Julie Estill McGinnis Johnson. He was a former employee of a distillery company in Camp Nelson, a member of the Shawnee Run Baptist Church and former member of the CIO. His wife, Lillian Cox Johnson, preceded him in death. Survivors include: two half sisters, Mrs. Eva Abel, Hagerstown, IN and Mrs. Janet Strong, Seattle, WA; four nephews and three nieces. Funeral services will be Thursday, March 16, at 2:00 p.m. at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Patrick Wren officiating. Burial will be in Burgin Memorial Gardens with nephews serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 9:00 p. m. Wednesday and 7:00 a.m. Thursday until time of the service.

SALLY WORTH
Mrs. Sally King Denny Worth, 79, Aylesford Place, Lexington, formerly of Burgin, died Saturday, March 11, 1995. Born September 9, 1915 in Burgin, she was the daughter of the late Will and Nadine Overley Denny. She was a retired employee of the University of Kentucky and the widow of Cyril Worth. Graveside services were held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 14 in Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg, with Dr. T. O. Harrison and the Rev. Carol Rawls officiating. Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass. Milward Mortuary, Broadway, in Lexington was in charge of arrangements.

JOE MILBURN
Mr. Joe Tevis Milburn, 61, of 431 Chippewa Dr., died Wednesday, March 15, 1995 at Haggin Memorial Hospital. Born June 23, 1933 in Danville, he was the son of the late Cecil Milburn and Dora Lee Tyler Milburn. He was a construction engineer for the Kentucky Department of Highways, a member of Southside Christian Church and Past Master of McAfee Masonic Lodge #229. He was a U. S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict. Survivors include: his wife, Roxie Lee Milburn, Harrodsburg; one son, Joey Lynn Milburn; and four grandchildren; Jessica Milburn, Lauren Milburn, McKenna Milburn and Tevis Milburn. Services for Mr. Milburn will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, March 17, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Gary Powell, the Rev. David Upchurch and the Rev. Sam Stow officiating. Mrs. Lettie Lay Sea, age 80, of 1894 Mackville Road, died Tuesday, March 14, 1995 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital. Born January 28, 1915 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late John C. and Laura Coleman Satterly. She was retired from the Kentucky State Hospital, a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church and the widow of Cecil Ray Sea. Survivors include: one son, Donnie Ray Sea, Mercer County; one daughter, Mrs. Arnold (Juanita) Merriman, Mercer County; two brothers, Clellan Satterly, Harrodsburg and Marshal Satterly, Burgin; two sisters, Mrs. Garnett (Nellie) Peavler of Harrodsburg and Mrs. Nathan (Rettie) Sims of Burgin; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Friday, 11:00 a.m., March 17, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. James Harley officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery. HARRY WALKER
Rev. Harry B. Walker, 79, of Pine Meadows Nursing Home in Lexington, died Friday, March 17, 1995. Born June 24, 1915 in Madison County he was the son of the late Monroe and Eddie Walker. He was a member of the St. Paul AME Church in Richmond. He was a retired AME minister and had served churches in Moreland, Turnersville and Parksville. Survivors include: his wife, Ella K. Walker, Harrodsburg; one daughter, Harrilyn W. VanDyke, Harrodsburg, one sister, Mattie Chenault, Richmond and one grandson, Phillip L. VanDyke of Harrodsburg. Services for Rev. Walker were held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 22 at St. Paul AME Church with the Rev J. T. Ballew officiating. Burial was in the Madison County Memorial Gardens. LORETTA GRITTON
Mrs. Loretta Pearl Drury Gritton, 84, of Heritage Hall Health Care Center in Lawrenceburg, died Friday evening, March 17, 1995. She was the daughter of the late Ulysses S. Grant Drury and Ida Walker Drury. She was the widow of J. C. Gritton. She was a native of Washington County, a former employee of Dean & Sherk Thread Company and Edwards Sausage Company. She was a member of Lawrenceburg First Christian Church. Survivors include: two daughters, Mrs. Juanita Gammon, Salvisa, Mrs. Shirley Booze, Frankfort; one sister, Mrs. Houston "Eileen" Gritton, Harrodsburg, three grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 20 at the Ritchie-Peach-Todd Funeral Home in Lawrenceburg with the Rev. Charles Brumley and the Rev. Bob C. Jones officiating. Mr. Robert Henry Gash, Jr., 67, of 361 Shawnee Drive, died Monday, March 20, 1995 at his residence. Born September 9, 1927 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Robert H. and Opal Gritton Gash. He was a retired Mercer County Circuit Court clerk, a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church, Deacon and Sunday School director, Glad Hand Sunday School Class, Mercer Masonic Lodge #777 F&AM, Past Master and Secretary of the Lodge, DAV Chapter #54, American Legion, former Rotarian and a former Mercer County Red Cross director. He was a US Army veteran of WW II. Survivors include: his wife, Donna Hazelwood Gash; one son, Steven Gash; a daughter-in-law, Teresa Gash; and two granddaughters, Carrie and Kelly Gash, all of Harrodsburg. Services for Mr. Gash will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, March 23, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, with Dr. Robert DeFoor officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Emma Elizabeth Weldon Hendren, 64, of 851 S. College Street, died Tuesday, March 21, 1995 at the Ephraim McDowell Medical Center, Danville. Born May 27, 1930 in Danville, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Camden "Peck" Weldon and Martha Agnes Bruner Weldon. She was a retired utility and presser at Cricketeer and a member of the Mackville Church of Christ. Survivors include: one daughter, Teresa Ann Davis, Harrodsburg; two sons, Irvin Eugene Hendren and Wendell Brack Hendren, both of Charlotte, NC; one brother, Ezra Weldon, Louisville; one sister, Pauline Riley, Lawrenceburg and seven grandchildren. Services for Mrs. Hendren will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, March 23, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel. with the Rev. Gary Powell and the Rev. Gary Story officiating. Mr. Donald Ray Cammack, 58, 210½ Lynn Drive, Lawrenceburg, died Tuesday, March 21, 1995, at Woodford Memorial Hospital in Versailles. A native of Shelby County he was born May 6, 1936. He was the son of Geneva Hughes Cammack, Lawrenceburg, and the late Allen Cammack. He was a former tree trimmer and a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church. Survivors, in addition to his mother, include: a daughter, Mrs. Jay (Jan) Brown, Salvisa; four sisters, Mrs. William (Martha Bruce) Campbell, Lawrenceburg, Mrs. Benton (Emma) Horn, Jeffersonville, IN, Mrs. Woody (Carole) Cammack, Lawrenceburg, Mrs. John (Brenda) Frank, Louisville; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Allen Cammack, Jr. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 24 at Gash Memorial Chapel in Lawrenceburg, with the Rev. James C. Siers officiating. Mrs. Rosalyn A. Best Waltemyer, 66, Pascagoula, MS, died Friday, March 17, 1995 at her home. Born June 30, 1928 in Mercer County, she had lived in Pascagoula for 34 years. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Pascagoula and a member of the Eastern Star in Kentucky. Survivors include: her husband, Martin Strine Waltemyer, Pascagoula; one son, Anthony L. (Tony) Best, Mobile; two brothers, Melwood Adkinson, Biloxi and Lee O. Adkinson, Harrodsburg, Ky.; four grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 20, at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Pascagoula, MS, with the Rev. James V. Miller officiating. Burial was in Serene Memorial Gardens, Escatawpa, MS. Pallbearers were James E. Best, Stephen Childers, Martin Waltemyer, Jr. and Larry Moore.

Mrs. Eva Winchester, 90, died Tuesday, March 21, 1995 at Garrard County Memorial Hospital, Lancaster. She was born November 10, 1904 in Wayne County, a daughter of the late Montgomery and Vie Upchurch Burton. She was a homemaker and a member of Buena Vista Baptist Church. Survivors include: her husband, Hubert Winchester, Lancaster; one daughter, Ina Sherrow, Harrodsburg; two sons, Irvin and Willard Winchester, both of Garrard County; six grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Leonard Lee Winchester. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 14 at Ramsey Funeral Home, Lancaster, with the Rev. Larry Harris officiating. Mr. Boyd Collett, 84, of 560 West Broadway, died Saturday, March 25, 1995 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville. Born March 13, 1911 in Bell County, he was the son of the late Robert and Martha Collett. He was the widower of Gracie Holland Collett. He was former owner and operator of OK Cab Company in Bell County from 1956 to 1976, a member of West Pineville Baptist Church and attended the United Pentecostal Church in Harrodsburg. Survivors include: one daughter, Mrs. Carolyn Kay Conover, Harrodsburg, one son-in-law, Mr. R. Alan Conover, Harrodsburg, one sister-in-law, Mrs. Caleb (Lucy) Tuttle, Pineville; and one granddaughter, Hannah Marie Conover of Harrodsburg. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 27 at the Pineville Cemetery, Pineville, with the Rev. Charles F. Jones officiating. NITA DRURY
Mrs. Nita Mae Drury, 92, of 1638 Danville Road, died Sunday, March 26, 1995 at Harrodsburg Health Care. Born September 19, 1902 in Anderson County, she was the daughter of the late Gordon Drury and Mary Meigs Shelton Drury. She was the widow of Carl Drury. She was a retired merchant of Drury's Store at Duncan, and a member of the Antioch Christian Church. Survivors include, one son, Levon Drury, Harrodsburg; three granddaughters, Suzanne Gravle, Judy Renfro, Paulette Hinshaw; one grandson, Kevin Drury; and four great grandchildren. Services for Mrs. Drury were held Wednesday, March 29, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Lewis Walter officiating. Burial was in Grapevine cemetery. Pallbearers were Marsdon B. Lake, Carroll Gritton, Buford Taylor, Kevin Drury, Brent Gibson, Corde Gravle and Justin Gravle.

CORA CROSSFIELD
Miss Cora Thelma Crossfield, 85, of 3901 Cummins Ferry Road, Salvisa, died Sunday, March 26, 1995 at Harrodsburg Health Care. Born August 31, 1909 in Mercer County she was the daughter of the late K. E. Crossfield and Lizzie Dean Crossfield. She was a retired nurse's aid at Kentucky State Hospital, a member of the Ebenezer Church of Christ and the Ebenezer Homemakers Club. Survivors include: a sister-in-law, Mary Crossfield, Salvisa; several nieces and nephews, including, Linda Murry, Kathy Sexton and Charles F. Crossfield. Services for Miss Crossfield were held Tuesday March 28 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Brother Mike Abbott officiating. Burial was in the Ebenezer Cemetery. Pallbearers were Charles, Rick, John, Bill, Gayle and Daryl Crossfield.

DOROTHY SANDERS
Mrs. Dorothy F. Sanders, 72, of Rockford, IL, died Sunday, March 26, 1995, at her residence. Born September 20, 1922 in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Winnifred Graham Watts. She was wed to Bruce E. Sanders July 4, 1939 in Jeffersonville, IN, who predeceased her on December 8, 1983. She was an avid bowler and an Avon representative for many years. Survivors include: two daughters, Peggy Ann Griese, Loves Park, IL and Carolyn Mortonson, Rockford, IL; four grandchildren, Gary Bruce Griese, Elmhurst, IL, Linda Susan Griese, Winnebago, Robert and Brenda Gustafson, both of Rockford, IL. She was preceded in death by a sister, Susan. Services for Mrs. Sanders were held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, March 30 at the Sundberg Funeral Home, Ltd., 215 N. Sixth Street, Rockford, IL. Burial was in Willwood Burial Park.

BURNICE JONES
Mr. Burnice F. Jones, 75, of Louisville, died Monday, March 27, 1995, at his residence after a brief illness. Born September 26, 1919 in Mayo, he was the son of the late Farris and Cordie Jones. He was a Mason and served as chairman of the Board of Deacons of the West Chestnut Street Baptist Church in Louisville. He was a veteran of WW II. Survivors include: his wife, Martha Fisher Jones, Louisville; one sister, Mrs. Garnetta Meaux, Harrodsburg; one brother who is a twin, Ernest Jones, Versailles; several nieces and nephews. Services for Mr. Jones were held at 11:00 a.m. Friday March 31 at the West Chestnut Street Baptist Church, with the Rev. C. Mackey Daniels officiating. Graveside services were conducted by Rev. Daniels and the Rev. Richard Hill of the First Baptist Church in Danville. Burial was in Hilldale Cemetery, Danville. Pallbearers were officers of the West Chestnut Street Baptist Church. Smith-Jackson Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements.

Jonathan Christopher Donald Rife, age 3 months, son of Christopher Lewis and Ann Margaret Logue Rife of 610 Bellows Mill Road died Friday, March 31, 1995 at his residence. He was born December 26, 1994 in Danville. Survivors other than his parents include: maternal grandfather James Donald Logue, Harrodsburg; maternal grandmother Anna Elliott, Lancaster; paternal grandfather Cleveland Rife, Oakwood, Virginia; paternal grandmother Naomi Rife, Oakwood, Virginia; great maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Thurman Logue, Mercer County; paternal great grandmother Mrs. Gladys Gibson, Hurley, Virginia; maternal great grandmother Marcella White, Harrodsburg; maternal great grandfather Lance Reed, Harrodsburg; maternal step-grandfather William Phillip Elliott, Lancaster; and maternal step-grandmother Doris Logue. Funeral services were Saturday, April 1 at 11:00 a.m. at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Everett Priddy and Bro. Bobby Logue officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery. Mr. Lee Thomas King, age 89, of 331 Barr Street died Thursday, March 30, 1995 at the Kentucky Veteran's Center in Wilmore. Born December 27, 1905 in Mercer County he was the son of the late William Davis and Lucretia Curd King. He was a retired farmer and had served in the U. S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the Shawnee Run Baptist Church, a member of Douglas Laws Post #52, the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Survivors include several nieces and nephews: J. Clyde Kenneth (Sonny) Proctor, son of the late Estella Anderson and Houston Proctor, died March 15, 1995 in Muncie, IN. Born January 19, 1933 in Shakertown, he was a graduate of Harrodsburg High School and the University of Kentucky. He was employed by NCR 29 years and a member of the Church of Christ in Muncie. Survivors include his wife, Lela Carey Proctor, Muncie; two sons, Gary Proctor, Parker City, IN and Dan Proctor, Long Island, NY; one daughter, Renea Conley, Indianapolis, IN; five grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by one brother, Houston Proctor, Jr. Services for Mr. Proctor were held March 18 at Meeks Mortuary Chapel, Muncie, IN, with Pastor Larry Reynolds officiating. Final resting place is Elm Ridge Mausoleum, Muncie.

OPAL POWELL
Mrs. Opal Bishop Powell, 79, of 316 Forrest St., Berea, died Friday March 31, 1995 at the Madison Manor Nursing Home in Richmond. Born June 23, 1915, she was the daughter of the late James Madison and Martha Victoria Bishop Powell. She graduated from Wallins Creek High School, in Harlan County and attended Sue Bennett College and Western Kentucky University. She graduated from Berea College in 1936. She was a homemaker. She was the widow of Smith T. Powell, Jr. Survivors include: two sons: Smith T. Powell III, Berea, and James M. Powell, Harrodsburg; one daughter, Martha Anne Crouse, Clay Center, NE; seven grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, four great grandchildren and 11 step-great grandchildren. Services for Mrs. Powell were held Monday April 3, at 2:00 p.m. at the Hustonville Christian Church with the Rev. Michael Stump and the Rev. Joseph K. Altman officiating. Pallbearers were George E. Powell, Sr., James Michael Powell II, Lindsey Wells Powell, Smith T. Powell IV, Tom Clay Powell, and William Christopher Powell. Burial was in the Hustonville Cemetery. JACK RAYBOURNE
Mr. Jack Raybourne, 75, of Bardstown Road, Springfield, died March 27, 1995 at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville. Born May 12, 1919 in Mackville, he was the son of the late Walter Wycoff and Martha Shewmaker Raybourne. He was a retired farmer, a member of the Springfield Christian Church where he taught the Men's Sunday School class for forty years, a member of the Springfield Masonic Lodge #50, Washington Chapter #27, Springfield Council #52 and the Marion Commandery #24. He was a member of the Springfield Lions Club where he served as president from July 1964 to July 1965. He served as state representative from 1954 to 1958 and as state senator from 1961 to 1965 and held the position as Washington County PVA from 1965 until his retirement in 1985. He was a past president of the Kentucky PVA Association and chairman of the Washington County Democratic Committee for many years. He served as a Kentucky delegate to the Democratic National Convention in 1964. He was a 1937 graduate of Mackville High School and attended the University of Kentucky for three years. He served as a trustee of St. Catherine college for a number of years. Survivors include: his wife, Mrs. Margaret Cull Raybourne, Springfield; one daughter, Mrs. Howard (Sandra) Carey, Lebanon; two sons, Jack W. Raybourne of Mechanicsville, VA and Kenneth A. Raybourne of Nicholasville; three sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Thompson, Mackville, Mrs. Jimmie (Roxie) Grider, Springfield and Mrs. Harold (Blanche) Milburn, Lexington; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was a homemaker and a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church, Eastern Star Chapter 309 and a past Matron. Mr. Marion Thomas Drakeford, 70, 357 N. Main Street, died Sunday, April 2, 1995 at his residence. Born November 21, 1924 in Jessamine County, he was the son of the late Robert Hall and Letha Vance Drakeford. He was a retired co-owner of Drakeford Tire Co., a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, American Legion, VFW, Optimist Club and a former Mason. He was a veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Marshall J. Burns, 93, of Davison, MI, died Wednesday, March 29, 1995 at St. Joseph Hospital, Davison. Born in Mackville on November 27, 1901 he had been a resident of Davison for 31 years. He was a member of Masonic Fellowship Lodge #490 F&AM, the American Bookkeepers Association, the Old Newsboys, and Buick Retiree's Club. He was employed by Buick Motor Division for 38 years, retiring in 1960. He married Lillian G. McDonald on June 7, 1924, who survives. Additional survivors include; a daughter and son-in-law, Doreen and George Stone, Davison, MI; a sister, Opal Claunch, Harrodsburg; a brother Dewey Burns, Mackville; and one grandson. Mrs. Emily Pulliam Sparrow, 91, of 423 College Manor died Sunday, April 2, 1995 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital Extended Care. Born February 2, 1904 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late George and John Ellen Burgin Pulliam. She was a homemaker, a member of the Salvisa Christian Church and the Salvisa Ladies Aid. Survivors include: two sisters-in-law, Christine Sparrow of Lawrenceburg and Dorothy Sparrow of Salvisa; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kelly T. She had lived in Louisville for the past 50 years. Nina Miller Gwinn, age 98, 464 W. Broadway, Danville, died Thursday, April 15, at the Friendship House in Danville. Born April 10, 1897, in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Russell and Lucy Woodson Miller. She was a retired Mercer County school teacher, a member of the Danville Homemakers and a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church, Danville. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. William Carlisle Caton, 64, of Erlanger, died Thursday, April 13, 1995. He was the son of the late Rilla and A. J. Caton, Sr., of Mercer County. Mr. Caton retired after 30 years of service with the U. S. Postal Service in Cincinnati. He was a veteran of the Korean War, a member of the First Baptist Church in Ludlow, and attended Erlanger Baptist Church. He was a member of the American Legion Post #20 in Elsmere. Robert William Smith, 47, of 301 Longview, died Saturday, April 15, 1995, at Ephraim McDowell Medical Center in Danville. Born August 1, 1947, he was a native of Detroit, MI. He was a salesman for the Mueller Company and a veteran of the U. S. Mr. Jeff Banks, 67, of 2418 Harrodsburg Road, Mackville, died Monday April 17, 1995 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. Born May 2, 1927 he was a native of Whitesburg, son of the late Harrod Banks and Vadie Fotch Banks. He was a retired coal miner and a member of the Pentecostal church. Survivors include: two sons, Larry Banks, Mackville and Dennis Banks of Springfield; three daughters, Mrs. Leroy (Brenda) Hendren of Mackville, Kathy Banks, Springfield, and Mary Banks of Fairborn, OH; 12 grandchildren and two great grandchildren; one brother, Ralph Banks of Whitesburg, one half brother, Jim Banks of Whitesburg; one sister, Mrs. Virgil (Ida) Fife of Marysville, TN, six half sisters, Alma Fields, Daisy Boggs, Atha Fields, and Mary Ann Pendleton, all of Whitesburg, Barbara Goble of Wabash, IN and Jean Poisel of Scipio, IN; two step sisters, Ida Long, Taylorsville, IN and Dicy Absher of Naples, FL. Mrs. Mary Belle Quillen, 76, of 308 N. Doctor, St., Springfield, died Monday, April 17, 1995 at her residence. Born September 26, 1918 to the late Floyd and Anna Mae Watts Harmon, she was a native of Washington County. She was a former employee of General Electric and was a member of Mt. Freedom Baptist Church. Survivors include: one sister, Mrs. John (Marian) Bottoms, Mackville; two grandchildren, Jeffrey Harmon, Harrodsburg and Wendy White, Danville; three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Quillen and a son, Jimmy Harmon. Funeral services were held at 3:30 p.m., Thursday, April 20, at the Carey and Son Funeral Home with the Rev. WANDA KELLY
Mrs. Wanda Stevens Kelly, 56, of 4351 Lexington Road, died Sunday, April 23, 1995 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. Born in Boyle County July 25, 1938, she was the daughter of Martha Crouch Atwell, Danville, and the late Raymond Chase Stevens. She attended Midway Nursing School and Campbellsville College and was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church. Survivors include: one daughter, Lisa K. Elliott, Danville; two sons, Harlan Clay Kelly and Monte Ross Kelly, both of Harrodsburg; two grandsons. Mr. Clell "C. B." Randolph, 57, of 3445 Wallingford Court, died Wednesday, April 19, 1995, at Central Baptist Hospital, Lexington. Born September 15, 1937, in Casey County, he was the son of Mary Price Randolph of Junction City and the late Deward Randolph. He was a machinist with Semicon Co. He was a charter member and deacon of First Baptist Church in Moreland and belonged to Devondale Baptist Church. Survivors include: his wife, Phyllis Watts Randolph; two sons, Clell B. "C. B." Randolph, Jr. and Steven Mark Randolph, both of Lexington; a stepson, Justin C. Hire, Lexington; two sisters, Nancy Thompson and Elizabeth Walls, both of Junction City; three brothers, Elwood Randolph, Hustonville, Bill Randolph, Harrodsburg, and Jerry Randolph of Junction City; five grandsons. BESSIE CHUMLEY
Mrs. Bessie M. Chumley, 94, of 176 Castle Heights, died Saturday, April 22, 1995 at Haggin Memorial Hospital. Born April 10, 1901 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late David Watson Murphy and Paralee Duggins Murphy. She was the widow of Hubert Chumley. She was a telephone operator with South Central Bell and a member of the Harrodsburg Christian Church and the Mercer County Humane Society. Survivors include: four nieces, Fern Camic, Harrodsburg, Helen Sims and Corinne Grove, both of Frankfort, and Velma Stull of Florida; one nephew, Henry Hugh Murphy, Cincinnati, OH. Mr. Gerald Lee Stine, 47, of 415 Handy Pike died Sunday, April 23, 1995 at the Meadowbrook Health Care Center in Lexington. Born August 27, 1947 in Mercer County, he was the son of Ralph Lee and Gladys Ann Buckley Stine of Mercer County. He was a farm laborer and a member of the Burgin Baptist Church. Survivors, in addition to his parents, include: a step paternal grandmother, Mrs. Anna Mae Stine, Burgin; two sons, Eric Lee Stine, Mercer County and Timothy Edward Stine, Boyle County; two brothers, Donnie Montgomery, Burgin and Rodney Dale Stine, Mercer County; one grandson. Mr. Howard Gable (Danny) Edelen II, 43, of 220 Azalea Street, died Monday, April 24, 1995, at his residence. Born September 16, 1952 in Marion County he was the son of John Gable Edelen of Lebanon and Mary Frances Trigg of Springfield. He was the husband of Christine Dean Edelen of Harrodsburg. He was a former custodian at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital, former employee of Diamond Point Silk Screening Company and was a painter, employed at Shakertown. He was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Springfield and attended First Baptist Church in Harrodsburg. Survivors, in addition to his wife and parents, include: one son, Howard Gable Edelen III, Harrodsburg; three brothers, James Henry Edelen of Bowling Green, Charles Andrew Edelen, Portland, OR and Joseph Anthony Edelen of Campbellsville. Services were held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 26 at the First Baptist Church, Broadway, Harrodsburg by the Rev. R. J. Gentry, the Rev. J. D. Short, and Father Patrick Bolten. John Breckenridge "J. B." Hurst, 81, of 547 Chestnut Street, died Wednesday, April 26, 1995 at Harrodsburg Health Care. Born December 28, 1913, in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Major Hurst and Mary Sallee Hurst. He was a retired employee of Corning Glass Works, a member of the Ebenezer Church of Christ and attended the Harrodsburg Methodist Church. Survivors include: one daughter, Mrs. Charles (Peggy) Gorham, Salvisa; one step daughter, Mrs. Charles (Debbie) Roach, Harrodsburg; two step sons, Jim Miller and David Miller, both of Harrodsburg; one sister, Lula Kurtz, Cincinnati: two grandchildren, two great grandchildren and six step grandchildren. Services for Mr. Hurst will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 28, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Mark Girard and Dr. David Hartman officiating. Byron Taylor Compton, 66, of Center Parkway, Lexington, died Saturday, April 29, 1995 at Scott General Hospital in Georgetown. Born July 3, 1928 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of the late Russell Compton and Viola Burton Lester. He was a retired salesman from Halloran Auto and a member of the Lions Club. Survivors include: his mother, Viola Lester, Lexington; three sons, Stephen T. Compton, Lexington, Jeffrey L. Compton, Versailles, and Richard L. Tosha Nicole Moore, 13, of 150 Motley Lane, died Friday, April 28, 1995 at Big South Fork river in Stearns, KY. Born June 4, 1981 in Rockcastle County, she was the daughter of Ronnie Dillard Moore and Martha Karen Mullins Moore. She was a seventh grade student at Burgin Independent School, a member of the Junior High Cheerleader Squad and the Drama Club. Survivors, in addition to her parents, include: one brother, Ronnie Dustin Moore; one sister, Angelia Leigh Moore; paternal grandmother, Christine Moore, Somerset; paternal grandfather, Luther Moore, Rockcastle County; and a great grandmother, Pearl Massey, Somerset. Mr. Hassell B. Sims, 66, of 331 North Main Street, died Sunday, April 30, 1995 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital. Born September 10, 1928 in Cornishville he was the son of the late Finis J. and Cora Mae Gritton Sims. He was a retired plumber, a member of the American Legion Post #0200, Louisville, a member of the Cornishville Christian Church and had served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Survivors include: his wife, Imogene Warner Sims,; one daughter, Sylvia Sims Hayslett, Burgin; three sisters, Laura Wright and Dora Margaret Lowe, both of Mercer County and Mary Easterling, Middletown, OH; one brother, Clyde Sims, Mercer County and two grandchildren. Mr. Coleman Reed, 84, of 1925 Curdsville Road, died Friday, May 5, 1995, at Central Baptist Hospital. Born October 5, 1910 in Madison County, the was the son of the late Luther Thomas and Patricia Jane Motley Reed. He was a retired farmer, the husband of Lucille Kurtz Reed and a member of the Shawnee Run Baptist Church. FANNIE LAKES
Mrs. Fannie Lakes, 89, of 333 Daughters Park in Lancaster, died Saturday, May 13, 1995 at the Haggin Memorial Hospital. She was a native of Jackson County, the daughter of the late Wiley and Debbie Lakes Smith. She was a homemaker, a member of the Buena Vista Baptist Church and the widow of Cordell Lakes. Survivors include two daughters, Faye Tapp and Vivian Tapp, both of Lancaster; seven grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Charles and Edward Abrams, and nine brothers and sisters; Lewis Smith, Willie Smith, Jessie Smith, Johnnie Smith, Merdia Smith, Susie Cruse, Dovie Humphrey, Mattie Smith and Lucy Smith. MATTIE HARMON
Mrs. Mattie Bugg "Candy" Harmon, age 95, died Saturday, May 13, 1995 at the Fellowship House in Danville. Born August 23, 1899 in Stewartsville she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Sallie Hudson Bugg. She was a homemaker. She was the widow of Cleo Harmon. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held on Monday, May 15, at the Wilder Funeral Home in Perryville, with the Rev. James Harley officiating. Mr. Joseph Vincent Warner, 83, of 232 Johnson Road, died Thursday, May 11, 1995 at his residence. Born April 4, 1912 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late T. V. Warner and Cara Lula Nichols Warner. He was the widower of Alma B. Carey Warner. He was a retired farmer and horse trader and a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church.. He was a former member of the Pioneer Saddle Club. Survivors include; a daughter, Mrs. Robert L. (Jo Ann) Martin, Harrodsburg; two brothers, Brite Warner, Bardstown and Stuart Warner, Mercer County; four sisters, Elizabeth Davis, Wooster, OH, Mrs. Leroy (Agnes) Adkinson, Ft. Myers, FL, Mrs. Clyde (Virginia) Baker, Lexington, and Mrs. Annell Claunch, Harrodsburg; several nieces and nephews. HENRY PINKSTON
Mr. Henry Hirschell Pinkston, 85, 445 East Factory Street, died Tuesday, May 16, 1995 at his residence. Born April 26, 1910 in Washington County, he was the son of the late William Henry and Georgia Ann Muncey Pinkston. He was a retired truck driver for the Jenkins Trucking Company, Campbellsville, and a member of the Mackville Church of Christ. Survivors include: three sons, Tony E. Pinkston, Vance D. Pinkston and Donnie Pinkston, all of Harrodsburg; three daughters, Bonnie Tingle, Patricia D. Lawson, and Anna E. Bandy, all of Harrodsburg; fourteen grandchildren, one step grandchild; sixteen great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons Hirschell (Freddie) Pinkston and Tommy Dean Pinkston. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 18 at 2:00 p.m. at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home, with Rob Harbison and the Rev. Barry Jeffries officiating. Born November 19, 1921 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Iva Watts and Lanna Sue Sallee Watts. She was a retired employee of Signet Systems, Inc., and a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church. Survivors include: one son, Howard W. "Bear" Watts, Danville; two brothers, H. T. Watts, Cincinnati, and Tarzan Watts, Louisville; one sister, Mary Stopher, St. Louis, MO; and three grandchildren. SHELVIE STRADER
Mr. Shelvie Strader, 77, 229 West Depot Street, Greenville, died Monday May 22, 1995 at 11:25 a.m. in the Muhlenberg Community Hospital, Greenville. He was born in Muhlenberg County April 14, 1918, the son of the late L. C. Strader. He was a member of the Greenville Second Baptist Church and a member of the John T. Crandell Masonic Lodge F&AM. He was preceded in death by his wife, Augusta Gullah Roark Strader in 1989. BENNY BOTTOM
Mr. Benny "Buddy" Bottom, 58, of 607 Cornishville Street died Monday, May 22, 1995 at his residence. Born November 6, 1936 in Mercer County he was the son of the late Ben and Gertie Isham Bottom. He had been a used car dealer and a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church. Survivors include: his wife, Shelby Jean Gibson Bottom; five daughters, Sandra Bottom Davis, Harrodsburg, Vicki Bottom Lewis, London, Sheryl Bottom Vaught, Hanover, IN, Kimberly Ann Bottom Merriman, Harrodsburg, and Crystal Dawn Bottom, Harrodsburg; four grandchildren. Two sisters, Louise Bottom Campbell and Helen Jean Bottom preceded him in death. VIOLA ROBINSON
Mrs. Viola Katherine Robinson, 74, of 316 Hogue Lane, died Friday, May 26, 1995 at the Humana Hospital in Lexington. Born March 22, 1921 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Wesley T. and Sara Lee Sanders Taylor. She was a retired employee of Mercer Dress of Burgin and a member of the Burgin Baptist Church. Survivors include: her husband, Charley S. Robinson; one son, Eugene Robinson, Burgin; one daughter, Mrs. Jonas (Alene) Barnes, Nicholasville; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. ETHER BISHOP
Mrs. Ether Mae Bishop, 84, of Lexington, widow of Lewis Bishop, died Sunday, May 28, 1995, at the home of her daughter in Salvisa. A native of Mercer County, she was a daughter of the late Dan and Ivy Motley White and a member of the Ashland Avenue Baptist Church. She was an employee of the University of Kentucky for over 20 years and also an employee of Walgreens. For over 60 years she was a volunteer at the VA Medical Center, with 2154 hours of service. Survivors include: two daughters and sons-in-law, Mildred and Fred Osborne and Pat and Ken Wheatley; one son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Betty Bishop, two nephews whom she reared, Thomas Bishop and his wife, Jane, and Morgan Bishop; 17 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by another son, Rollie Lewis Bishop, and his wife, Ann. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 31, at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Lexington. KENNETH SANDERS
Mr. Kenneth Reed Sanders, 71, of 2021 Cardinal Dr., Danville, died Wednesday, May 31, 1995 at his residence. Born April 27, 1924, in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Oscar and Bertner Reed Sanders. He was a graduate of Harrodsburg High School. He was a retired employee of Citizens National Bank in Danville and a U. S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife: Carol Ann Mannini Sanders; two sons, Carroll Reed Sanders and David Christopher Sanders, both of Danville; one brother; Glendon Sanders of Nicholasville; two sisters, Eloise Seltsam of Danville, and Brunell Young of Harrodsburg; and two grandchildren. Mr. George Wesley Gaddis, Sr. 74, 1524 Mundy's Landing Road died Saturday, June 3, 1995 at his residence. Born June 19, 1920 in Moreland, he was the son of the late Gaylan Wesley and Viola Gooch Gaddis. He was retired from the Mercer County Road Department, an Army and Marine veteran of WW II and the Korean Conflict, and a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church. Mr. William Charles Bugg, Sr., 85, of 470 West Grubbs Lane, Junction City, formerly of Harrodsburg, died Thursday, June 8, 1995 at his residence. Born January 15, 1910 in Boyle County he was the son of the late Dave and Lucy French Bugg. He was a retired plumber for Hayslett Mechanical Contractors, had served in the Army during World War II and was a member of the Parksville Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife Martha Ross Bugg and three brothers, Marvin, Marcus and Garnett Bugg. Survivors include: one son, William Charles Bugg, Jr., Harrodsburg; two daughters, Mrs. Terry (Peggy) Bowman, Bardstown and Mrs. James (Jean) Stringer, Casey County; three brothers, Buford and Fred Bugg, Harrodsburg, and Raymond Bugg, Elizabethtown; one sister, Hazel Dorsey, Harrodsburg; one half sister, Mary Williams, Harrodsburg; fourteen grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren. She was a retired supervisor for the Naval Ordnance Station, where she worked for 32 years. She was a retired bookkeeper for the Mayes & Sims Implement Company after working 26 years. Born February 2, 1911 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Elmer McGinnis and Matilda Semones Watts. He was a retired carpenter and a member of Bethel Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by one son, Orville Watts, Jr., and one brother, Kenneth Watts. Services for Mr. Watts were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 27 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Bob Jones officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Bill Sanders, Kenneth Deatherage, Chris, Kevin and Buford Watts and Johnny Glover.

ELBERT DEVINE
Mr. Elbert "Garfield" Devine, 63, of 160 Birch Avenue, died Monday, June 26, 1995 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. Born October 3, 1931 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Foster Garfield Devine and Ethel Cannon. He was head operator in the forming department at Corning Glass Works, Inc. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, VFW, American Legion, a Kentucky Colonel, Masonic Lodge #777 F&AM and a Little League baseball coach for a number of years. He was an air force veteran of the Korean conflict. Survivors include: his wife, Phyllis Devine, Harrodsburg; two sons, Gary E. Devine and Foster Scott Devine, both of Harrodsburg; two daughters, Patti D. Bryant and Cindy Gayle Devine, also of Harrodsburg; one brother, Gilbert Devine, Topeka, KS; one sister, Pam Rowlin, California; four grandchildren and one great grandchild.. Services for Mr. Devine were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 28 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Phillip Yates officiating. Masonic services were held at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Chapel. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Clyde Sims, Jr., Tommy Reynolds, Mike Ellis, Kenneth Meredith, Jimmy Isham and Bill Lester. Honorary bearers were grandchildren - John, Clay and Joshua Devine and Jessica Perkins. Memorials are suggested to the American Lung Association or the Galilean Home Ministries, P. O. JUANITA GAMMON
Mrs. Juanita Drury Gammon, 67, of Kirkwood Road, Salvisa, formerly of Lawrenceburg, died Saturday June 24, 1995 at the Haggin Memorial Hospital. A native of Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late Arvel Drury and Loretta Drury Gritton. She was a retired 31 year accounting clerk with the Kentucky Department of Human Resources and a member of the Salvisa Christian Church. Survivors include: her husband, Eugene "Jack" Gammon, Jr.; a daughter, Pamela Ann Votaw, Lawrenceburg; a son, Lynne D. Gammon, Harrodsburg; a sister, Shirley Booze, Frankfort; six grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services for Mrs. Gammon were held Tuesday, June 27 at the Ritchie-Peach-Todd Funeral Home in Lawrenceburg with the Rev. Jerry Summers officiating. Burial was in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Pallbearers were Derek Votaw, Patrick Votaw, Michael Gammon, Chris Gammon, Douglas Brown and William A. Gammon, Jr. Honorary bearers were V. W. Lawrence, W. L. Speaks, William D. HILMA BOYD
Mrs. Hilma Stroud Boyd, 69, 256 Hickory Drive, Frankfort, died Monday June 26, 1995 at her residence. A native of Jacksonville, FL, she was born October 15, 1925. She was the daughter of the late Emmett Lee and Frances Bell Stroud. She was a retired principal accountant clerk with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church. Survivors include: her husband, Stanley A. Boyd, Frankfort; one daughter, Rebecca Lynn Boyd, Lexington; and one sister, Mrs. Jack (Penny) League, Danville; and one brother-in-law, Wayne Byrd, Harrodsburg. Services for Mrs. Boyd will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 29, at the Harrod Brothers Funeral in Frankfort with the Rev. John Therkelsen officiating. Burial was in the Frankfort Cemetery. Pallbearers were Tim Troxell, Christine Troxell, William Hardin, Anita Napier, Karen Denny and Sharon Smith.

ROSALIE CORNISH
Mrs. Rosalie M. Efaw Cornish, 72, formerly of 435 West Lane, died Wednesday, June 28, 1995 at the Americare Marion Nursing Home in Marion, Ohio. Born June 24, 1923 in Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Albert C. and Ruth Zaebst Efaw. She was a waitress, bookkeeper, grocery store operator and a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church. She was the widow of Marshall M. Cornish. Survivors include: one brother, James Edward Efaw of Gallion, Ohio; one sister, Betty Jean Steel, Kettering, Ohio and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m., June 30 at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. James Harley officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service Friday at the funeral home.

VERLIA ROBINSON
Mrs. Verlia Mae Robinson, 83, Royal Manor Nursing Home, Nicholasville, died Monday, June 26, 1995 at St. Joseph Hospital, Lexington. Born January 29, 1912 in Anderson County, she was the daughter of the late Shelby Allen "S. A." and Ida Mae Satterly Robinson. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Survivors include several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, June 29 at the Bethel Baptist church with the Rev. Lester Tirey officiating. Burial will be in the Bethel Baptist Church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Odell Hendren, James Carnell Hendren, Charles Truman Robinson, Mike Robinson, Kermit Flynn, and Ronnie Dailey. Visitation Thursday 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home and Thursday after 12:00 p.m. at the church.

MARTHA TODD
Martha Baringer Todd, 81, wife of James Milton Todd of "The Oaks," 395 Redding Road, Lexington, died Saturday, July 1, 1995 at her residence. She was a former resident of Harrodsburg and Shelbyville and a member of the Shelbyville First Presbyterian Church. Other survivors include: a daughter, Patricia Todd Duncan, Lexington; a sister, Mrs. James O'Brien, Louisville; two grandchildren. CECIL SULLIVAN
Mrs. Cecil Beatrice Brown Sullivan, 80, 499 Lynn Drive, died Friday June 30, 1995 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital. Born March 2, 1915 in Mackville, she was the daughter of the late Ross L. and Mattie Raybourne Brown, and the widow of the late James A. Sullivan. She was a retired beautician in Maryland, a member of the St. Peter's AME Church and a member of Harrod Homemakers. She was a graduate of West Side High School and attended Lincoln Ridge College in Shelby County. Survivors include: two daughters, Adeline McLamb, Harrodsburg and Ann Sullivan, Washington, DC; one sister, Mary Brown Pittman, Harrodsburg; and one granddaughter. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday July 6 at St. Peter's AME Church with the Rev. J. T. Ballew officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Willie "Jack Rabbit" Bottom, Freddy Brown, Gary Brown, James Bryant, James Patton and James Yeast. Parks Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

GILVIE LOGUE
Mr. Gilvie Dudley "Dud" Logue, 85, of 910 Riverside Drive, died Sunday, July 2, 1995 at his residence. Born November 6, 1909 in Mercer County he was the son of the late Jesse Tornis and Bertha Wilham Logue. He was a farmer and a member of the Bruner's Chapel Baptist Church for more than seventy years. Survivors include: his wife, Beatrice Vandivier Logue; four sons, Harold D. Logue, Billy M. Logue and Donald E. Logue, all of Mercer County and Roger D. Logue of Symrna, TN; one brother, Buford C. Logue, Harrodsburg, nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Three brothers, Virgil C. Logue, Cecil Jewel Logue and Ralph J. Logue and one sister Ovie Lee Davis preceded him in death. Funeral services were Wednesday July 5, at 2:30 p.m. at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Reed officiating. Burial was in Bruner's Chapel Cemetery, Rose Hill, with Greg Logue, Brian Logue, Chris Logue, Jeff Logue, Pam Spradling, Terri Long, Sharon Shackelford, Cindy Long and Julie Honaker serving as pallbearers. Honorary bearers were members of the Senior Adult Men's Sunday School Class of the Bruner's Chapel Baptist Church. Mrs. Jessie Lee Long, 85, of 2568 Talmage-Mayo Road, died Wednesday, June 28, 1995 at Haggin Memorial Hospital. Born November 25, 1909 in Washington County, she was the daughter of Abraham Norton and Izora Hendren Norton. She was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Hebron Methodist church. Survivors include: her husband, George Bradley Long, Harrodsburg,; four sons, Jessie Long, Corbin, Bobby Long, LeRoy, IL, David Long, London, Boyd Long, Mercer County; three daughters, Arnetta Hendren, Louisville, Betty Barnes, Mercer County, and Norene Baker, Harrodsburg; one brother, Rev. Elwood Norton; two sisters, Virgie Curd, Lexington, and Lula Taylor, Harrodsburg; 24 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son Melvin Long. Services for Mrs. Long were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday June 30 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel. with the Rev. John Hockersmith and the Rev. David Collier officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jerry, Dennis and Glenn Norton, Keith Long, George Barnes and Ricky Long. Memorials are suggested to Mt. WILLIAM BOTTOM
Mr. William Taylor Bottom, 85, died Thursday, June 28, 1995 at the Charleston Health Care Manor in Danville. Born August 31, 1909 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late William Green and Annie Belle Matherly Bottom. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Deep Creek Baptist church. He was the widower of Mary Frances Bottom. Survivors include: six sons, J. T. Bottom, Billy Bottom and Darrell Bottom all of Harrodsburg, Bobby Bottom, Wathan Bottom of Mercer County, Walter Bottom, Greenburg, IN; two daughters, Mrs. Wandola Cheatham, Harrodsburg and Mrs. Barbara Steele of Lecanto, Florida; one sister, Mrs. Julia Frances Peavler of Harrodsburg; two half sisters, Mrs. Beulah Claunch of Mercer County and Mrs. Hazel Click of Springfield; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Neil Bottom. Services for Mr. Bottom were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 1 at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Ken Calia and Bro. Bobby Logue officiating. Burial was in Deep Creek Cemetery. Pallbearers were David Bottom, Joe Dale Bottom, Bruce Bottom, Jerry Bottom, W. T. Sparrow, Darrell Glenn Bottom, Marty Farmer and Wally Bottom. Grandchildren served as honorary bearers.

BETTY BEAM
Mrs. Betty Marie Beam, age 70, of 2008 Sun Valley Road, St. Joseph, MO died Wednesday, June 28, 1995 at the Heartland Hospital East, St. Joseph, MO. Born August 4, 1924 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late James and Eddie West Sexton and the widow of William Ray Beam. She was a member of the Shawnee Run Baptist Church. Survivors include: one brother, Charles Sexton, Harrodsburg; three sisters, Ada S. Murdock, Louisville, Viola E. Worley, Cincinnati, OH and Dora S. Balden, Harrodsburg; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers: Tom O., Sam B., and James D. Sexton. Graveside services were held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 3, at Spring Hill Cemetery with Dr. David Hartman officiating. Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements.
