Sibyl Henton Bennett
Sibyl Henton Bennett of Owensboro, died on March 12 at the Owensboro Medical Health System.
Born in Daviess County on July 18, 1920, she was a member of the Lewis Lane Baptist Church, the Women’s Club of Owensboro, the American Business Women’s Association, the Garden Club, was a former Dale Carnegie member and a Kentucky Colonel.
She retired from the General Electric Company in 1979 and had a second career with Lincoln Service Corporation from which she retired in 1988. Her husband, Kelley E. Bennett, preceded her in death in 1982.
She is survived by her step-children, Charles D. Bennett of Cattlettsburg, Eve Bennett-Wood of Los Altos Hills, California and four step-grandchildren, Katy Marie Bennett, Kelley Joe Bennett, Samuel Bennett Wood and Dorothy Jessie Wood.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 4 at 2 p.m. at Glenn Funeral home. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Graveside services will be held on April 5 at 10 a.m. at Glenn Chapel Cemetery in Lyon County.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the American Business Women’s Scholarship Fund, Box 8728, Kansas City, Missouri 64114-0728.

Charles Leon Shoemaker
Services for Charles Leon Shoemaker, 80, of Owensboro were held at 10 a.m. at St. Stephen Cathedral on May 5. The Rev. John Vaughan officiated. Burial followed at St. Alphonsus Cemetery in St. Joseph.
Mr. Shoemaker died at 3:45 a.m. on May 2 at Owensboro Medical Health System.
He was employed at Green River Steel Corporation as a motor room operator. He was a member of St. Stephen Cathedral, where he served as an usher and a greeter, a past member of St. Vincent DePaul Association, Green River Steel Retirees Club, and Local 4959 United Steel Workers.
Mr. Shoemaker was preceded in death by two brothers, Andrew J. Shoemaker and Hubert Lee Shoemaker; and one sister, Manie Rita Wendling.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ruth Yates Shoemaker; four sons, Andy Shoemaker, Joseph Shoemaker, Charles Shoemaker and Kenny Shoemaker, all of Owensboro; four daughters, Shirley Kay Brown, Margaret Lee Isbell, and Martha Rose Wenner, all of Owensboro, and Mary D. Bray of Beaver Dam; one sister, Mary Rose Shoemaker of Owensboro; 17 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Diane Elaine Barnes
Services for Diane Elaine Barnes, 53, of South Beloit, Ill., were held May 14 at Rosman, Uehling, Kinzer Funeral Home in Beloit, Ill. Lance Bifulk officiated.
She died May 11 at Beloit Memorial Hospital.
Miss Barnes was employed by Monterey Mills in Janesville, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her father, LeRoy Pence; her step-father, Kenneth Goldsby.
Her survivors are her special friend, Jodie Tinder of South Beloit, Ill; one son, Chad Barnes of Beloit, Ill.; one daughter, Casie LaChance of Janesville, Ill.; her mother, Pauline Goldsby of Gilman, Ill.; two sisters, Marilyn Schroeder of Gilman, Ill., and Candice Howard of Kuttawa; one brother, Jack Pence of Gilman, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.

Elizabeth Ann Jansen
Services for Elizabeth Ann Jansen, 21, of Princeton were held May 19 at Morgan’s Funeral Home at 1 p.m. The Rev. Rodney Wallace officiated. Burial followed at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Jansen died on May 16 at 3:58 p.m. at Caldwell County Hospital from injuries she received in a car accident.
She was a homemaker, and attended Calvary Baptist Church.
She is survived by her father and step-mother,, Greg and Becky Granstaff of Princeton; her husband, Justin Jansen of Princeton; her paternal grandparents, Don and Betty Granstaff of Princeton; one son, Logan Kauffman of Princeton; one daughter, Victoria Elizabeth Jansen of Princeton; one brother, Justin Granstaff of Willisville, Ill.; several uncles, aunts and cousins.
Memorial contributions may be sent to the fund for Victoria Elizabeth Jansen at Farmers Bank, P.O. Box 559, Princeton, KY 42445.
