CHARLES WOOLCOTT
Charles Steven Woolcott, 43, Moreland Avenue, a resident of the New Hope Agency, Harrodsburg died Friday, Feb. 11, 2005 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.

Born May 23, 1961 in Harrodsburg, he was a son of Mary Patterson Relaford and the late George N. Woolcott.

In addition to his mother, survivors include: his stepfather, Lowell Relaford of Harrodsburg; one brother, George (Cindy) Woolcott of Lancaster; one niece, and one aunt, Virginia Woolcott, and one uncle, Nelson Woolcott, both of Lexington.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, James Thomas and Elizabeth H. Patterson and by his paternal grandparents, Nelson and Clara Woolcott.

Graveside services were conducted Sunday, Feb. 13 at the Spring Hill Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Owens officiating.

Arrangements were handled by the Ransdell Funeral Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the charity of one’s choice.

CHESTER BAKER

Chester Rudolph Baker, 73, North Main Street, widower of Elizabeth Oder Baker, died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2005 at the Danville Centre for Health and Rehabilitation.

Born March 29, 1931 in Washington County, he was a son of the late Robert and Naomi Byrd Baker.

He was a truck driver for Bentley’s Paving Company and was a member of the Harrodsburg Church of God.

Survivors include: five sons, Rudolph (Carolyn) Baker of Danville, Bruce (Patricia) Baker of Burgin, and Connie Dale Baker, Gary Wayne Baker and Michael Baker, all of Mercer County; two brothers, Leroy Charles Baker of Mercer County and Bobby Baker of Burgin; two sisters, Lois Baker Carney of Willisburg and Wanda Mann of Louisville; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one grandchild.

The funeral was conducted Tuesday, Feb. 22 at the Evergreen Cemetery in Willisburg with Bro. Donnie Irvin officiating.

Arrangements were handled by Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home.

WILLIAM COLLINS

William E. Collins, 93, of Lexington, widower of Loretta Mae Collins, died Saturday, February 19, 2005 at the Thomson - Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore.

Born December 28, 1911 in Bourbon County, he was the son of the late Lee and Virgie Smith Collins

He was a WWII Veteran, a retired Meat Cutter for the Progress Market and a Charter Member of Northern Heights Christian Church.

Survivors include: two sons, William E. Collins, Jr., Salvisa, and Michael Collins, Lexington; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Polly Pryor, Emma Jennings and Agnes Mitchell; two brothers, Claude Collins and George H. Collins.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Monday, February 21, at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home - Main Street, Lexington, with Rev. William Allen Collins officiating.

Visitation will be Monday at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in the Lexington Cemetery.

Contributions are suggested to the Thomson - Hood Veterans Center, 100 Veterans Drive, Wilmore, KY 40390.

BRUCE DEATHERAGE
Bruce Allen Deatherage, 47, died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2005 at the Harrodsburg Health Care Manor.

Born March 1, 1957 in Mercer County, he was the son of Glenna Watts Deatherage of Harrodsburg and the late Don Deatherage.

He was a former technician employee of Fredrick Research in Maryland and served in the Kentucky National Gaurd. He enjoyed University of Kentucky football and basketball.

In addition to his mother, survivors include: two sons, Bruce Hartman Deatherage of Danville and Patrick Deatherage of Paoli, IN; one step-daughter, Tiffany Stull of Louisville; two brothers, Kenneth Wayne Deatherage of Franklin County and Jamie Deatherage of Arkansas; one sister, Donna Jean (Jim) Brett of Arkansas; one grandchild; two step-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 26 at 11 a.m. at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.

VALLIE EGBERT
Vallie Mae Egbert, 85, 420 Miller Dean Rd., Salvisa, wife of Elmer E. “Tuggle” Egbert, died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2005 at the Heritage Hall Care Center in Lawrenceburg.

Born May 19, 1919 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Demetrius and Margaret Carey Collier.

She retired after 23 and a half years from Cricketeer Manufacturing Company.

In addition to her husband, survivors include: one daughter, Linda (Joe) Daugherty of Lexington; one son, Tommy (Judy) Egbert of Salvisa; four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

The funeral was conducted Wednesday, Feb. 23 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Bro. Terry Morrison officiating. Burial was in the Ebenezer Cemetery in Salvisa.

Pallbearers were Garnett and Johnny Collier, Gary Adkinson, Connie Shiflett, Larry Siler, Barry Hopewell and Billy Fint.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the Alzheimers Association or to Hospice.

CAREY FLICKINGER

Carey Ellen Randolph Flickinger, 45, of Rockwell, N.C., died Sunday, February 14, 2005.

Born June 7, 1959, in Hawthorn, CA, she was a daughter of Corinne Neeley of Richmond and the late Waller Randolph.

She was an employee of Freightliner Co. in Cleveland, NC.

Other survivors include: four daughters, Charli Randolph, Cara Randolph Flickinger, Chelsa Flickinger and Emily Weiss, all of NC; two brothers, Rusty Randolph of NC, and Kevin Randolph of Pensacola, FL; four sisters, Kim Misenheimer, IA, Cathy Sparks and Colleen Jenkins, both of NC, and Robin Kjems, Harrodsburg.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 19, at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.

Visitation will be after 1 p.m. Saturday.

WILBERT GABHART
Wilbert Lee Gabhart, 90, Mackville, died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005 at the Danville Center for Health and Rehabilitation.

Born Oct. 1, 1914 in Washington County, he was the son of the late Isaiah and Lula Parrott Gabhart.

He was a retired farmer and a member of the Battle Baptist Church.

Survivors include: one son, Connie (Nancy) Gabhart of Mackville; three daughters, Jeannie (Leroy) Dean of Harrodsburg, Janice (Troy) Fraley of Lexington and Lynda (Bob) Perry of Springfield; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral was held Sunday, Feb. 20 at the Carey and Son Funeral Home in Springfield with Rev. James Harley officiating. Burial was in the Battle Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Slade Smith, Sandy Carey, Randy and Doug Gabhart and Aaron and Lee Dossett.

Honorary pallbearers were Dylan Boynton, Granville Moore and Chris Noel.

RALPH GRISWOLD JR.

Ralph G. Griswold Jr., 81, Dossett Lane, husband of Carroll Cushman Griswold, died Friday, Feb. 18, 2005 at his residence after an illness.

Born Sept. 12, 1923 in Penny Bog, MI, he was a son of the late Ralph S. Griswold Sr. and Eva May Griswold.

He graduated from Wilmore High School in 1941, served with the U.S. Army during WWII and attended the University of Kentucky. He retired after 28 years with the Trane Company. He enjoyed fishing, he was a University of Kentucky fan, and he was a member of Nicholasville Methodist Church.

In addition to his wife, survivors include: two daughters, Jean Griswold Rhodes of Mercer County and Beverly (Jeff) Mason of Versailles; two step-sons, Bob Gibbs of Henderson and Tom Gibbs of Venezuela; one brother, Paul Edwin (Ann) Griswold of Paris; two sisters, Gladys Wheat and Geraldine Hughes, both of Lexington; four grandchildren; five step-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Ruth May Saxman, Joyce Wilson and Irene Cornish.

Memorial services were held Tuesday, Feb. 22 at the Harrodsburg United Methodist Church in Harrodsburg with Rev. Jimmy Owens and Chaplain Gary Story officiating. Interment will be in Camp Nelson National Cemetery at a later date.

Arrangements were handled by Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Heritage Hospice, P.O. Box 1213, Danville, KY 40422.

DORIS HUMES
Doris Burkhead Humes, 63, Taylorsville, died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2005 at her residence.

Born in Washington County, she was a daughter of the late Charlie and Katie Hudson Burkhead.

She was a former employee of the Kentucky Department of Transportation and was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church of Taylorsville.

Survivors include: one son, John Martin Humes of Hendersonville, TN; two daughters, Katie Marlene Devito of Louisville and Mary Eugenia Goodlett of Mount Eden; four brothers, Cleo Burkhead of Willisburg, Willard Burkhead of Shepherdsville, and James “Buddy” Burkhead II and Charles Burkhead, both of Harrodsburg; four sisters, Mary Lee Case of Chaplin, Flora Mae Auberry of Bardstown, Dulah Benham of Springfield and Carolyn Hardin of Taylorsville; three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

The funeral was held Saturday, Feb. 19 at Hall-Taylor Funeral Home of Taylorsville with Rev. Greg Taylor officiating and Keith Thompson assisting. Interment was in Valley Cemetery of Taylorsville.

WANDA NOEL
Wanda Brown Noel, 78, Danville, died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005 at the Danville Centre for Health and Rehabilitation.

Born Sept. 4, 1926 in Washington County, she was a daughter of the late Owen J. and Ethel Satterly Noel.

She was a graduate of Campbellsville College and a member of the Willisburg Baptist Church.

Survivors include: one sister, Beulah Isham of Mackville; one niece; two grand-nieces, and one grand-nephew.

She was preceded in death by one brother, O.J. Noel Jr.

The funeral was conducted Sunday, Feb. 20 at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Rev. Ralph Neal officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery in Willisburg.
