LOVELL GREEN

Lovell R. Green, 89, of 494 Larue Street, died Thursday, July 5, 2001 at his residence.

Born August 31, 1911, he was the son of the late Walter and Myrtle Duggins Green. He was the widower of Mable Green.

He was a retired construction worker, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a well known fox hunter.

Survivors include: a son, Stanley Green of Harrodsburg. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Julie Ann.

Funeral services were held Sunday, July 8, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Robert L. Logue officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.

JAMES HOOPER Jr.

James William Hooper, Jr., age 7, of Hoophole Road, Lawrenceburg, died Friday, June 22, 2001, at his residence.

Born July 18, 1993 in Frankfort, he was the son of James William and Michelle Harley Hooper, of Lawrenceburg.

He was a second grader at Western Elementary School in Anderson County and a member of Grapevine Christian Church in Mercer County.

He enjoyed tee-ball, fishing and Pokemon.

Survivors, in addition to his parents, include: a sister, Haley Danielle Hooper, Lawrenceburg; maternal grandparents, Jewell and Jennie Harley, Lawrenceburg; paternal grandmother, Ida Hooper, Lawrenceburg; maternal great grandparents, Walter and Alpha Harley, Lawrenceburg. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Fountain Hooper.

Funeral services were held Monday, June 25, at Ritchie-Peach-Todd Funeral Home with Bro. Claude Waldridge and Bro. James Harley officiating. Burial was in the Darnell Cemetery in Anderson County.

Pallbearers were Vernon Drury, Calvin Hill, Bobby Hooper, Travis Harley, Eddie Harley and David Stratton. Honorary bearers were students and staff of Western Elementary School and the staff at the University of Kentucky Children’s Hospital and Clinic.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of Contributions to the James William Hooper Jr. Memorial Fund, c/o Century Bank, 201 W. Woodford St., Lawrenceburg, KY 40342.

T. C. SANDERS

T. C. Sanders, 80, of 3680 Stanford Road, Danville, died Tuesday, July 3, 2001, at the Fort Logan Hospital in Stanford.

Born July 2, 1921 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late John and Ferbie Crabtree Sanders.

He was retired from Corning Glass Works, where he had worked for 28 years, was a member of Franklin Lodge #25 F&AM in Danville, and a former member of the Flint Workers Union.

He was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing and was an avid gardener.

Survivors include: his wife, Geneva Henderson Sanders, Danville; one son, Donald (Barbara) Sanders, Harrodsburg; six step sons, Bobby Muse, Tony Muse, Rick Muse, Steve Muse and Bruce Muse, all of Stanford, and Jerry Muse, Somerset; three daughters, Shirley Singleton, Crab Orchard, Ruth Portefield, Danville, Sue Hale, Lancaster; one sister, Ruby Watts, Frankfort; one step sister, Frances Gaines, Lexington; 23 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, William Thomas Sanders.

Funeral services were held Friday, July 6, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Payton officiating. Masonic rites were held Thursday, July 5. Burial was in Burgin Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers were Shannon Sanders, Tommy T. Hale, Kevin Muse, Chris Craig, Royce Blevins, and Matth Craig. Honorary bearers were Ed Alsman, Omer Mchorter, Jim Lankford, J. C. Sanders, Roy Lee Sanders, Rudy Weisinger, Douglas Sanders and Charles Sanders.

LOUISE SEA
Louise Drury Sea, 80, of Saffell Street, Lawrenceburg, died Tuesday, July 10, 2001 at the Frankfort Regional Medical Center in Frankfort.

She was a native of Anderson County, the widow of Namon Sea and daughter of the late John and Lola Carey Drury.

She was a homemaker, a member of the Lawrenceburg Community Baptist Church and the Anderson County Senior Citizens.

Survivors include: three sons, Darrell (Jean) Sea, Gary (Libby) Sea, Steve (Becky) Sea, all of Lawrenceburg; one daughter, Gloria (Billy) Chilton, Salvisa; one brother, Charles (Setta) Drury, Lawrenceburg; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four grandchildren, Deana, Stacey, Bridgett and John Sea.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 12, at the Gash Memorial Chapel with Bro. Stephen Broughton officiating. Burial will be in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Michael Sea, Coy Chilton, Jacob Sea, Glenn Drury, Terry Drury and Buddy White. Honorary pallbearers will be Tia Chilton, Kela Beasley and Courtney Sea.

Contributions are suggested to Gideons International.

Visitation will be from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and after 8:00 a.m. Thursday.

MAE SEXTON
Mae Sexton, 73, of Bradford Lane, died Sunday, July 8, 2001 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.

Born December 7, 1927 in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Cora Doan Hayden.

She was a member of Mt. Zion Methodist Church, had been a cook at Shakertown and a homemaker.

Survivors include: her husband, Harvey “Buddy” Sexton, Harrodsburg; two sons, Wayne Sexton and Richard Sexton, both of Mercer County; one daughter, Linda Sexton, Midway; two sisters, Johnnie Walker and Dorothy Russell, both of Harrodsburg; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Bill, Marshall and Cleveland Hayden; three sisters, Corrinna Smith, Belle Woolums, and Martha House Burgin.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 10, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Thobaben officiating. Burial was in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens, Jessamine County.

Pallbearers were Steve Sims, Walt Rowe, Gail Savage, Joey Ashcraft, Ronald Bradford and Roger Woolums.

WILLIAM WEBB
William Edward “Bill” Webb, 51, Scenic Drive, died Monday, July 9, 2001 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.

Born September 10, 1949 in Mercer County, he was the son of Raymond and Louise Scott Webb of Harrodsburg.

He was a Modine model shop technician, a member of the National Guard and Masonic Lodge #777. He loved restoring Corvettes, farming and John Deere tractors.

He was a member of Southside Christian Church, attended Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors, in addition to his parents, are: two daughters, Jennifer and Jamie Webb, both of Harrodsburg.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 12, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Baldauff officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. Masonic rites were held at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Carlos Lane, Ronnie Panko, Gary Scott, Richard Scott, Barry Currens, Steve Gibson, Steve Tulley and Ducker Tulley. Honorary bearers will be Willie B. Horn, Frank Lawson, David Darnall, Ronnie Atwood, Tommy Barnett, Jeremy Catlett, Roy Hawes, Scott Strickland and Mitch Carpenter.

Visitation from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, and after 7:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

ALMA KENDRICK

Alma C. Kendrick, 79, of 730 Calvary Lane, died Wednesday, July 11, 2001 at her residence.

Born July 27, 1921 in Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Jeff and Lina Burchett Coffey. She was the widow of Harry Kendrick.

Survivors include: four daughters, Mrs. David (Shirley) Bryant and Mrs. Charles (Anna) Baker, both of Harrodsburg, Mrs. Ashland (Wanda) Joseph of Russell, and Mrs. Scott (Margie) Zoeckler, Nicholasville; six sons, David (Dona) Kendrick and Melvin Kendrick, both of Harrodsburg, Harry (Lynda) Kendrick, Mt. Washington, William Kendrick Chicago, IL; Kenneth (Bonnie) Kendrick, Georgetown, Steve (Patricia) Kendrick, Danville; one brother, Wilburn Coffey and one sister, Velda Wilson, both of Monticello; 34 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren.

She was a member of the Bohon Christian Church.

Funeral services were held Sunday, July 15, in the chapel of the Marvin S. Hicks Funeral Home in Monticello, with Rev. Paul Readnour officiating. Burial was in Elk Spring Cemetery in Monticello.

Pallbearers were grandsons, Jeffery Schwartz, David Kendrick Jr., Hogan Kendrick, Jessie Kendrick, Ashland Joseph Jr., Eric Kendrick, Seth Kendrick and Derek Baker. Honorary pallbearers were her other 26 grandchildren.

JAMES PHILLIPS
James William Phillips, 63, of 2552 Dale Ann Drive, Haines City, FL, died Tuesday, July 10, 2001 at his residence.

Born April 7, 1938 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of David W. Phillips and the late Helen Robinson.

He was a former construction worker and had been employed by Disney World. He attended Freewill Baptist Church in Florida, and had served in the Marine Corps.

Survivors, in addition to his father, include: his wife, Donna Phillips, Haines City, FL; four daughters, Regina (Donnie) Monn, Tyler, TX, Annette Becknell, Lexington; Lisa (Jeff) Phillips-Smith, Nicholasville, Missy (Kevin) Carpenter, Perryville; one brother, Ivan Phillips, Burgin; three half brothers, Clarence Phillips and Richard Lane, both of Harrodsburg, David Phillips, Burgin; two half sisters, Shirley Wheeler and Kathy Worthington, both of Harrodsburg; several grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday, July 16, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Bobby Logue officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Gene Brewer, Chad Worthington, Tony Dearing, Joe Harrison, Wayne Day, James O’Nan, Jeff Rhinehimer and Jake Harrison.

BESSIE VOTAW
Bessie P. Votaw, 81, of Battle Road, Mackville, died Friday, July 13, 2001 at the Danville Center for Health and Rehabilitation.

Born July 27, 1919 in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late James and Molly Riley Hatchett. She was the widow of Sabe G. Votaw.

She was a retired employee of Springfield Redring.

Survivors include: one daughter, Lois Dean, Mackville; one brother, William Hatchett, of IL; one sister, Dora Bishop of OH; three grandchildren, four great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday, July 15, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Lewis Walter officiating. Burial was in the Battle Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Ernie Hale, Chris Shackelford, Donald Cottingham, and Darly Baker. Honorary bearers were Jordan and Dakota Shackelford.

JOHN HORN Jr.

John Horn, Jr., 53, of 605 Talmage-Mayo Road, died Monday, July 16, 2001 as the result of an automobile accident in Louisville.

Born October 21, 1947 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of the late John and Lillie R. Burns Horn.

He worked as a truck driver for Patton Brothers in Mercer County and was a member of Magnolia Street Christian Church and Masonic Lodge #777 F&AM.

Survivors include: his wife, Karen Denise Horn; two sons, Kevin and Michael Horn; two daughters, Jesseca Horn Stephens, and Amanda (Mandy) Taylor, all of Harrodsburg; five sisters, Laurie Devine and Valeria Kidd, Harrodsburg, Lois Kidd and Mary Traynor, both of Lexington, Bertie Gooch, Danville; four grandchildren, Caitlyn, Jackson, Morgan and Gracie. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Alma Horn and Florence Kidd.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, July 19, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Bro. Terry Morrison officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be David Smith, Rex Kidd, David Traynor, Dennis Traynor, Glenn Devine, Joe Ballard, Alex Cochran and Jim Keller.

Visitation after 5:00 p.m. Wednesday and prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral chapel.
