SACRAMENTO - Mildred Adeen Rone Miller, 78, died Friday, Nov. 28, 2003 at Bon Harbor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Owensboro.
Born in Butler County, Dec. 28, 1924, she was a lifelong member at Sacramento Baptist Church and the founder and former owner, along with her husband, the late James E. Miller, of Miller Building Supply in Sacramento.She was also a Sunday school teacher for 52 years.She was preceded in death by three children, Cary Trent Miller, James Wade Miller and Alice Ann Miller; and two brothers, Harry Gale Rone and Bill Rone.
Survivors include a daughter, Susan Miller Grundy of Livermore; a son, Michael Lynn Miller of Sacramento; three sisters, Jana Deitz and Carol Rone, both of Owensboro, and Fran Simerlein of Alabama; three brothers, Donald Rone and George Rone, both of Owensboro, and Bobby Rone of South Carolina; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Dec. 3 at Tucker Memorial Chapel in Sacramento with the Rev. Darrell Eldridge officiating.Burial will follow in Sacramento CP Cemetery in Sacramento.

Norma Jean Wakeland

BRADENTON, FLA. - Norma Jean Wakeland, 66, died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2003.
Born in Muhlenberg County, Aug. 8, 1937, to the late John L. Wakeland and Clara Bell Wright Wakeland, she was a former librarian at Harbin Memorial Library in Greenville and Manatee County Library in Bradenton, Fla. for 28 years.She was preceded in death by a nephew, Kelley McIntosh.
Survivors include a sister, Geraldine McIntosh of Tennessee Ridge, Tenn.; and five brothers, Dan Wakeland and Jerry Wakeland, both of Greenville, Hugh Wakeland of Madisonville, Lester Wakeland of Homosassa, Fla., and Justice Wakeland of Bradenton, Fla.
Graveside funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Nov. 26 at Evergreen Cemetery in Greenville with the Rev. Buddy Waller officiating.Gary’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Margena Carol Burns

DUNMOR - Margena Carol Burns, 39, died Thursday, Nov. 27, 2003 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green.
Born in Logan County, Jan. 8, 1964, the daughter of Johnny Hunt and Carolyn (Audas) Hunt of Dunmor, she was a homemaker and a member of Dunmor Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, R. L. Burns; three daughters, Lana George of Russellville, Monica Burns and Ashley Burns, both of Dunmor; two step-daughters, Robin DuVall of Germany and Jamie Taylor of Hartford; a sister, Teresa Hunt of Auburn; grandfather, John Hunt of Lewisburg; grandmothers, Veneida Audas of Dunmor and Dorothy Hunt of Lewisburg; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Nov. 30 at Price Funeral Home, Inc. in Lewisburg with the Rev. Arno Krantz, the Rev. Jeremy Whitney and the Rev. Bill Wilson officiating.Burial followed in Lewisburg Cemetery in Lewisburg.
Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.

Lynn Carson Moore

CLEATON - Lynn Carson Moore, 57, died Thursday, Nov. 27, 2003 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital.
Born in Muhlenberg County, Aug. 2, 1946, to the late Calvin and Bessie Moore, he was a member of Cleaton Baptist Church.He was preceded in death by two brothers, J.C. Moore and Denver Moore.
Survivors include two brothers, Glendell Moore of Greenville and Bobby Moore of Louisville; three sisters, Marietta Davenport of Cleaton, Reba Cooper and Wanda Jones, both of Central City; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Dec. 1 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. R.D. Mize officiating.Burial followed in Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City.

William S. “Billy” Bearden

SACRAMENTO - William S. “Billy” Bearden, 56, died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2003 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital.
Born in Bristol, England, April 10, 1947, he was a member of Browder’s United Methodist Church and a U.S. Army veteran.He was a Kentucky Colonel and worked for Fics 11 Mine, South Hopkins Coal Company, and Dotiki Mines for a total of 31 years.He was preceded in death by his father, William Thomas Bearden, and his brother Michael Davis Bearden.
Survivors include his wife, Sun Ye Bearden; a daughter, Joan Ku Bearden-Griffin of Madisonville; a son, Stephen Thomas Bearden of Sacramento; his mother, Ruth Bearden of Madisonville; a sister, Wanda Blohm French of Dawson Springs; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Nov. 29 at the Barnett-Strother Funeral Home in Madisonville with Bro. Marty Martinez officiating.Burial followed in Browder Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Browder’s United Methodist Church, 1894 Central City Road, Madisonville, KY 42431.

Virgie Lee Johnson

BREMEN - Virgie Lee Johnson, 95, died Sunday, Nov. 30, 2003 at Maple Manor Nursing Center in Greenville.
Born in Muhlenberg County, Aug. 22, 1908, to the late J.A. Strader and Millie Hendricks Strader, she was a member of Brier Creek Cumberland Presbyterian Church and a retired teacher.She was preceded in death by her first husband, Fred Scott Phillips; her second husband, Bailey Johnson; and a son, the Rev. Doctor William Scott Phillips.
Survivors include two daughters, Patricia (Allen) Morris of Henderson and Sandra (Mike) Galyen of Greenville; a daughter-in-law, Doris Cartmill Phillips of Greenville; eight grandchildren, Philip Morris of Charlotte, N.C., David Morris of Sebree, Mitch Galyen of Beechmont, Susan Galyen Newman of Huntsville, Ala., Sarah Morris Courtney of Henderson, Scott Phillips of Greenville, Kimberly Phillips Mayhall of Cerulean, Ky., and the Rev. John Galyen of Island; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Dec. 2 at Brier Creek Cumberland Presbyterian Church with the Rev. John Galyen and the Rev. Gary Whitworth officiating.Burial followed in Brier Creek Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery in Bremen.Tucker Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Anna Pauline Kaylor

OAK GROVE, KY - Anna Pauline Kaylor, 78, died Sunday, Nov. 30, 2003 at her son’s residence in Oak Grove after a short illness.
Born in Harlan County, Jan. 12, 1925, to the late James Washington Marsee and Nell Victoria Gilford Marsee, she was a homemaker and a housewife, and a member of Good Hope Baptist Church in Oak Grove.She was preceded in death by two sons, Carlos Wayne Cornett and Karl Kenneth Kaylor, Jr.
Survivors include for sons, Glen Shell of Johnson City, Tenn., Jimmy Cornett and Danny E. Cornett, both of Greenville, and Kurtis Kaylor of Oak Grove; a brother, Walter Marsee of Cattlesburg, Ky.; two sisters, Florence (Cookie) Goodsill of Platt City, Mo. and Elizabeth Bain of Saint Cloud, Fla.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Dec. 3 at Gary’s Funeral Home with Chaplain Lloyd Tucker officiating.Burial will follow in Unity Cemetery in Graham.

Billy D. DeArmond
DUNMOR - Billy D. DeArmond, 66, died Monday, Nov. 15, 2004 at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.
Born in Muhlenberg County, Oct. 13, 1938, to the late William Garteen and Susie (Fleming) DeArmond, he was employed with the Forestry Department for the State of Kentucky.
Survivors include a daughter, Billie Jo Stinson of Morgantown; three sisters, Hazel Myers of Lewisburg, Velma Jenkins and Patty Whittaker, both of Dunmor; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Nov. 18 at Price Funeral Home in Lewisburg.Burial followed in Dunmor Cemetery in Dunmor.

Luther Russ

Luther Russ, 89, died Thursday, Nov. 18, 2004 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital.
Born in Muhlenberg County, June 13, 1915, he was a retired coal miner and a member of Nelson Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Shellie Dockery Russ; five sons, Dillard (Beulah) Russ of Tennyson, Ind., Walton (Jo Ann) Russ of Bremen, Gayle (Sandra) Russ of Evansville, Ind., Lendell (Brenda) Russ and Gary (Cheryl) Russ, both of Central City; five daughters, Sue Adcock (Bill) Vincent of Beaver Dam, Joyce (Curtis) Lear of Crofton, Penny (David) Noffsinger, Sherry (Billy) Sharp and Janet (Keith) Casebier, all of Central City; 23 grandchildren, Glendean Majors, Thresea Kincade, Mark Russ, Scott Russ, Kristy Curry, Julie Hodgkins, Tammy Poe, Brenda Noe, Terry Handley, Ed Russ, Tim Russ, Shannon Knox, Lori Kaufman, Natalie Adcock, Jeff Noffsinger, Bryan Noffsinger, Kyle Noffsinger, Grant Sharp, Brandon Casebier, Byron Casebier, Aaron Casebier, Megan Russ and Rachael Russ; 35 great-grandchildren; and 11 great great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m., Nov. 21 at Nelson Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Donnie Wilkins and the Rev. Tim Adcock officiating. Burial followed in Nelson Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Tucker Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

June Lam

June Lam, 77, died Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2004 at her residence in Central City.
Born in Tennessee, she was retired and a member of First Baptist Church in Central City.
Survivors include three daughters, Cheryl Ann Clark of Louisville, Jennifer Lynn Lam and Regina Bradshaw, both of Central City; a brother, Paul Johnston of Marietta, Ga.; a sister, Mary Vaden of Knoxville, Tenn.; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Nov. 20 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Lowery and Don Dossett officiating. Burial followed in Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City.

Brenda Lois Allen Walden

GREENVILLE ­ Brenda Lois Allen Walden, 85, died Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2004 at her residence after a short illness.
Born in Adairville, Oct. 1, 1919, the daughter of the late William Vester Allen and Sally Gertrude Rigsby Allen, she was a homemaker and housewife and a member of the Willow Glen Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, John William Walden in 1994 and a son, Wendell Walden.
Survivors include a son, Randol (Pat) Walden of North Judson, Ind.; four daughters, Peggy (Charles) Barton of McKenzie, Tenn., Marilyn (Jack) Stafford of West Palm Beach, Fla., Ann (Roger) Dukes of Greenville and Brenda (Barry) Norvell of Valparaiso, Ind.; a sister, Sarah Cobb of Adairville; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 7 p.m., Nov. 18 at Gary’s Funeral Home with Jimmie Jenkins officiating. Burial followed at Graceland Cemetery in Valparaiso, Ind.

Anthony Ray Simmons

CLEATON ­ Anthony Ray Simmons, 13, died Saturday, Nov. 20, 2004 at Kosair Children’s Hospital in Louisville.
Born in Muhlenberg County, Sept. 21, 1991, he is the son of Lauren and Teresa Simmons. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James E. and Elna Simmons, and great-grandparents, Arthur and Mayme Ford and Alford and Lucy Keeling.
Survivors include a foster brother, John Dukes Siebelink of Wyoming, Mich.; grandparents, Billy and Alberta Ford of Cleaton; aunt and uncle, Angela and Jim Wilson of Central City; two aunts, Diane Wallace and Janet Reed, both of Central City; and three cousins, Tabitha Huff, Mark Huff and Kayla Jernigan, all of Central City.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Nov. 23 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Ted Everly officiating. Burial followed in Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City.

Mildred Nicholson Strong

ELKTON ­ Mildred Nicholson Strong, 90, died Sunday, Nov. 21, 2004 at the Gateway Medical Center in Clarksville, Tenn. of natural causes.
Born in Muhlenberg County, Oct. 24, 1914, the daughter of the late William and Lola Jane Humphrey Nicholson, she was a retired teacher from the Todd County School System having taught 20 years. She was a member of Elkton Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for 30 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Harrison Strong in 1975.
Survivors include a daughter, Laurie Blake of Elkton; two grandsons; and two great-granddaughters.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Nov. 23 at Latham Funeral Home in Elkton with the Rev. Jerry Tracy officiating. Burial followed in Glenwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kentucky Baptist Homes for Children, P.O. Box 36570, Louisville KY 40233.

Enola Marie Scott

GRAHAM ­ Enola Marie Scott, 76, died Friday, Nov. 19, 2004 at her residence.
Born in Muhlenberg County, Dec. 19, 1927, she was a homemaker and of Baptist faith.
Survivors include a son, David Scott of Belton; a daughter, Kaye Wester of Graham; a sister, Ruth Pentecost of Evansville, Ind.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Nov. 22 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Gerold Beliles officiating. Burial followed in Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City.

James Michael “Mike” McGuyer

MORGANTOWN-James Michael “Mike” McGuyer, 53, died Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2005 at his residence.
Born in Evansville, Ind. Aug. 3, 1952, he was the son of James Paul McGuyer and Gracie Evelyn McCormick. He was self-employed and owner of a lawn care service. He was a former Sunday school teacher, training union teacher, a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Gideons International and served as Memorial Bible Chairman.
Survivors include his wife, Gayline Evelyn Snodgrass McGuyer; his father, James Paul McGuyer of Morgantown; his mother, Gracie Evelyn McCormick of Rockport, Ky. and ; a sister, Sharlot Lineberry of Lawrenceburg, Ind.; a niece and a nephew.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Nov. 19 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Morgantown with Brother Jimmy McIntosh, Brother Chris Rippy and Brother Murl Gray officiating. Burial followed in Huntsville Baptist Church Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy can be made to Gideons International. Jones Funeral Chapel in Morgantown was in charge of the arrangements.
