Walter Lewis McKie

BEECHMONT – Walter Lewis McKie, 77, died Saturday, Nov. 26, 2005 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital.
Born in Muhlenberg County Dec. 21, 1927, he was the son of the late Lawrence L. and Mardie Keyser McKie.He was a retired coal miner, a member of the Hazel Creek Masonic Lodge #842 in Beechmont, a U.S. Army Korean War veteran and a member of the Hazel Creek Missionary Baptist Church.He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert McKie.
Survivors include his wife, Francis Tipton “Mickie” McKie; a son, Robert L. Bandy of Bowling Green; two daughters, Brenda J. Calvert of Providence and Peggy L. Arnold of Glasgow; two sisters, Mary Cart and Jean Possoun, both of Leeville, La.; seven grandchildren, Robin Bandy, Jeff Bandy, Valerie Hood, Kris Mayes, Kevin Mayes, Matt Buchanan and Allen Arnold and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Nov. 29 at Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home with the Rev. Terry Chaney officiating.Burial followed at Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City.

James Edward Eaves

James Edward Eaves, 86, died Friday, Nov. 25, 2005 at his residence.
Born in Muhlenberg County Aug. 14, 1919, he was an Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Anderson Eaves; two sons, Edward Earl Eaves of Bremen and James Michael Eaves of Sacramento and one granddaughter.
Graveside services were held at 2:30 p.m. Nov. 28 at Fairmount Cemetery in Central City.Tucker Funeral Homes was in charge of arrangements.

Billy Gene Garner

Billy Gene Garner, 55, died Friday, Nov. 25, 2005 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital.
Born in Muhlenberg County Aug. 4, 1950, the son of Hazel Garner of Central City and the late John Garner, he was a self employed logger.He was preceded in death by his father, John Garner; a brother, Bobby Garner and a step-grandson, Jordan Sorrells.
Survivors include a son, Brian Garner of Greenville; a daughter, Tammy Dukes of Dunmor; his mother; his fiancée, Anna Dunlap of Central City; a step-son, Dwight Hendricks of Bremen; five step-daughters, Tina Anderson of Lewisburg, Josie Dunlap, D.J. Dunlap, Holly Douglas and Elizabeth Douglas, all of Central City; three brothers, Kevin Garner, Aaron Garner and Steven Garner, all of Central City; six sisters, Barbara Whitehouse and Mickie Garner, both of Cleaton, Connie Watkins Smith and Karen Hobgood, both of Central City, Phyllis Camplin and Kim Garner, both of Belton; two grandchildren, Justin and Kayliegh Garner and four step-grandchildren, Whitney Markham, Kristyn Hendricks, Selena Dukes and Madison Branda.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Nov. 28 at Tucker Funeral Home.Burial followed in Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City.

Jonell Lee Travis

RUSSELLVILLE – Jonell Lee Travis, 71, died Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2005 at her residence following a lengthy illness.
Born in Muhlenberg County Oct. 4, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert Lee and Louise Wilson Bostwick.
Survivors include her husband, Wallace Travis; three daughters, Karen Kemble of Greenville, Debbie Middleton of Hammond, Ind. and Louise Barry of Maryville, Ind.; three sons, Jerry Higgins of Hammond, Ind., Danny Williams of Hardin, Ky. and Jeffery Hemphill of Russellville; a brother, Charlie Williams of Gary, Ind.; 16 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Nov. 27 at Gary’s Funeral Home.Burial followed in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Sue Ellen Gregory

TROY, TENN. – Sue Ellen Gregory, 20, died Friday, Nov. 25, 2005.
Born in Muhlenberg County, Aug. 23, 1985, she was the daughter of Teddy Dupont Gregory and Clara Ellen (Austin) Gregory, both of Troy, Tenn.She was a member of the House of Prayer Pentecostal Church in Fulton, Ky. and a teller for First State Bank in Union City, Tenn.She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Frances A. and Gladys Lorene Gregory and Albert and Lillie Mae Austin and two nephews.
Survivors include her parents; two sisters, Tonya Worley of Union City, Tenn. and Amanda Roncali of Hornbeak, Tenn.; a brother, Cody Andrew Gregory of Union City, Tenn. and a niece and nephew.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Nov. 29 at White-Mahon Funeral Home in Troy, Tenn. with the Rev. Jessie Cavness officiating.Burial followed in Fremont Cemetery in Union City, Tenn.

Clyde Thomas Wilcox

GALLATIN, TENN – Clyde Thomas Wilcox, 80, died Sunday, Nov. 27, 2005.
Born Dec. 4, 1924, he was formerly of Central City.
Survivors include a son, Tom Wilcox; a brother, Charles Wilcox; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren and additional family and friends.
Scattering of ashes will be at 1 p.m. Dec. 3 at Fairmount Cemetery in Central City. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Dec. 2 at the residence of Charles Wilcox, 2211 E. Gum, Evansville, Ind. Remembrance at 6 p.m., stories and pictures welcome. Expressions of sympathy, contributions may be made to The Salvation Army. St. Louis Cremation was in charge of arrangements.

Neva Lou Harris
GRAHAM - Neva Lou Harris, 63, died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2003 at Maple Manor Health Care in Greenville.
Born in Muhlenberg County, March 7, 1940, she was a homemaker and a member of Vernal Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Jerry Lee Fulkerson of New Cypress and Donald Wayne Harris of Greenville; one brother, John D. Fulkerson of Greenville; four sisters, Linda P. Haley, Mary Dean Vincent, Ola Jean Dukes, and Shirley Ann Fulkerson, all of Greenville; three grandchildren, Kristan Harris, Jacob Harris and Patrick Lee Fulkerson; three step-grandchildren, Melinda Jane Tucker, Robert Dale Fulkerson and Timothy Wayne Fulkerson; and one great-grandchild, Jordan Ryan Fulkerson.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Nov. 21 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Terry Groves officiating.Burial followed in Fulkerson Cemetery in Depoy.

Violet Putman

GRAHAM - Violet Putman, 71, died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2003 at Maple Manor Health Care in Greenville after a lengthy illness.
Born in Muhlenberg County, April 28, 1932, to the late Charlie Smith and Dollie Edge Smith, she was a homemaker and a member of the Holiness faith.She was preceded in death by three sons, Gary Putman, Michael Putman and Stevie Putman, and one grandson, Ronnie Putman.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Hershel Gates Putman; three daughters, Virginia Decker of Michigan City, Ind., Bonnie Keith of Depoy and Belinda Wells of Graham; two sons, David Putman of Luzerne and James Putman of Central City; two sisters, Betty Sue Majors of Livermore and Alice Wells of Henderson; a brother, Al Smith of Powderly; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Nov. 20 at Gary’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Neal officiating.Burial followed in Lee Hill Cemetery in Depoy.

Mildred Moore Strader

CLIFTY - Mildred Moore Strader, 88, died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2003 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Born in Muhlenberg County, March 15, 1915, to the late Clark Tom (T.C.) Moore and Bertha Welborn Moore, she was a factory worker and a homemaker.She was a member of New Harmony General Baptist Church in Todd County.She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Strader in 1997; brothers, Drexel Moore and Jimmie Moore; and sisters, Opal Edwards and Dovie Moore.
Survivors include a sister, Freida Johnston of Hopkinsville; a special niece, Brenda Jessie of Elkton; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Nov. 21 at Gary’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Roger Wright and the Rev. Autry Moore officiating.Burial followed in McPherson Cemetery in Lewisburg.

Jean Pyle

HOPKINSVILLE - Jean Pyle, 60, died Sunday, Nov. 16, 2003 at her home following a lengthy illness.
A native of Christian County, born Feb. 24, 1943, to the late Claude Thomas and Hula D. Jones Cannon Walker, she worked in administration at the Pennyroyal Regional Mental Health Center and attended Little River Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, Larry Pyle; a son, John Timothy Pyle of Hopkinsville; two sisters, Sarah Boyd of Hopkinsville and Claudette Taylor of Greenville.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Nov. 19 at Hughart and Beard Funeral Home in Hopkinsville with Phil Dunn officiating.Burial followed in Henderson Cemetery in Hopkinsville.
Memorials may be made to Pennyroyal Hospice.

Helen Marie Sparks

GRAHAM - Helen Marie Sparks, 79, died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2003 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital.
Born in Hopkins County, Feb. 7, 1924, she was a homemaker and a member of East Union Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, the Rev. Carl (Sharon) Sparks of Greenville and James R. (Cheryl) Sparks of Madisonville; two daughters, Norma Jean Sparks and Helen (Rev. Jerry) Eades, both of Graham; a sister, Anna Conrad of Madisonville; six grandchildren, Chris Sparks of Greenville, Lori Sparks Waddell of Greenville, Matthew Eades of Graham, Jennifer Steele of Graham, Sherri Padgett and Shannon Sparks, both of Madisonville; five great-grandchildren, Tyler Sparks, Braydon Padgett, Mikaila Padgett, Brandon Eades and Megan Sparks.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Nov. 22 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev Ron Wingo officiating.Burial followed in Unity Cemetery in Graham.

Tony Alan Rust

SACRAMENTO - Tony Alan Rust, 38, died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2003 at his father’s home in Sacramento.
Born in Sacramento, Calif., Jan. 14, 1965, to Sidney Rust and the late Shirley Rust, he was a member of Island United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his father, Sidney (Chloe B.) Rust of Sacramento; a sister, Debbie Thaxton of Grand Rivers; a brother, Eric Rust of Beavercreek, Ohio; three step-sisters, Sherral Bland of Aiken, S.C., Peggy Dant of Beech Grove, and Maraget Hicks of Owensboro; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Nov. 22 at Tucker Memorial Chapel in Sacramento with the Rev. and Uncle Mike Rust officiating.Burial followed in Poplar Grove Church Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy can be made to the Green River Hospice, Inc., 109 S. 2nd St., Central City.

Linda Ray Rolley Vincent

GRAHAM - Linda Ray Rolley Vincent, 56, died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2003 at Owensboro Mercy Health System after a sudden illness.
Born in Muhlenberg County, May 17, 1947, to the late Robert Rolley and Florella Stanley Rolley, she was of the Apostolic faith and worked in jewelry sales at Wal-mart for four and a half years.She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Wayne Vincent, Sr. in 1993 and a daughter, Melissa Vincent in 1965.
Survivors include a special friend, W.K. (Kenny) Boze of Madisonville; two sons, Jerry W. Vincent, Jr. of Greenville and Robert W. Vincent of Graham; two daughters, Ramona Vincent of Madisonville and Kimberly Johnson of Graham; three brothers, J.T. Rolley and Gerald Rolley, both of Graham, and Rodney Rolley of Bremen; two sisters, Regina Roberts and Agnes Bryant, both of Greenville; and nine grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Nov. 22 at Gary’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Jessie Campbell and the Rev. Terry Groves officiating.Burial followed in Unity Cemetery in Graham.

Marvin Earl Loney

HUNTSVILLE, ALA. - Marvin Earl Loney, 77, died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2003 at Huntsville Hospital.
Born in Muhlenberg County, May 8, 1926, to the late John Jefferson Loney and Lois McCown Loney, he retired from ConAgra as a millwright in 1987 and was a U.S. Army veteran having served during World War II.
Survivors include four sons, Kevin Loney of Hartselle, Ala., Sherman Loney of Birmingham, Ala., Ronnie Loney of Lodi, Calif., and Jaime Loney of Stedman, N.C.; three sisters, Marjorie Todd of Melvindale, Mich., Mary Jo Rhoads of Clarksville, Tenn. and Donna Woodall of Greenville; a brother, Jon Loney of Knoxville, Tenn.; and nine grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Nov. 22 at Burningtree Cemetery in Decatur with Dr. Ed Hampton officiating.Roselawn Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Joy Wayne McRoy

GREENVILLE - Joy Wayne McRoy, 64, died Friday, Nov. 21, 2003 at his home after a lengthy illness.
Born in Muhlenberg County, July 25, 1939, to the late Charlie McRoy and Eunice Hayes McRoy, he was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Muriel Dean Walker McRoy; a stepdaughter, Jessica Robertson of Dexter, Mo.; and a stepgrandchild, Jaelyn Robertson of Dexter, Mo.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Nov. 23 at Gary’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy Vincent and the Rev. George Thompson officiating.Burial followed in Friendship Cemetery in Greenville.
