CLEATON - Jackie Wayne Smith, 60, died Friday, July 22, 2005 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital.
Born in Chicago, Ill. July 23, 1944, the son of the late Howard Smith and Irene Kittinger Smith, he was a laborer in the coal mines. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Campbell Smith.
Survivors include three daughters, Glenda Harris and Sherry Rust of Greenville and April Mosley of Lewisburg; two sisters, Dodie Evitts of Penrod and Juanita Edwards of Bremen; two brothers, Eugene Smith of Cleaton and Sammy Smith of Penrod and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. July 24 at Price Funeral Home in Lewisburg with the Rev. Steven Hibbs officiating. Burial followed in Mt. Moriah Church of Christ Cemetery in Muhlenberg County.

Brandie Nicole West

DUNMOR - Brandie Nicole West, 25, died Saturday, July 23, 2005 at her residence.
Born in Muhlenberg County Jan. 28, 1980, the daughter of Buddy Wester and Barbara Hunt, she was a homemaker and a member of Union Ridge General Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a grandfather, David Wester, a great - grandfather, the Rev. Ramond Allen and a great - grandmother, Mossie Long.
Survivors include her husband, Christopher West; three stepsons, Tyler West, Austin West and Matthew West, all of Morgantown; her father and stepmother, Buddy and Mavis Wester of Belton; her mother and stepfather, Barbara and Lowell Hunt of Lewisburg; a stepsister, Crystal Davis of Franklin; her grandparents, Robert and Ramona Sadler and Lois Wester, all of Belton and her great - grandparents, Margaret Allen of Lewisburg and Cecil Sadler of Elizabethtown.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. July 27 at Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home with the Rev. Glenn Harper, the Rev. Tom Carroll and the Rev. Leamond Mefford officiating. Burial will follow in Union Ridge Cemetery in Belton. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. July 26 at Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home.

Robert E. “Bob Ed” Kipling

Robert E. “Bob Ed” Kipling, 77, died Sunday, July 24, 2005 at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.
Born in Muhlenberg County Feb. 7, 1928,he was the son of the late Robert E. and Pearl Baker Kipling, retired after 29 years as a coal miner for Gibralter Coal Mines, he served in the Korean War, was a member of the Blue Lodge Mason, Hazel Creek Lodge #842, Scottish Rite, Rizpah Shriners Temple and Cherry Hill Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife Ella Foley Kipling in 1999 and a son, Robert E. Kipling III.
Survivors include a special friend, Mildred Pannell; two sons, Robert E. IV (Robby and Sue) Kipling and Richard L. (Ricky and Mary Jane) Kipling, both of Central City; a brother, Earl C. Kipling of White Plains; three sisters, Merle Barnes, Margaret Christ and Kathleen Robards; three grandchildren, Debra Ann Kipling, Adam Kipling and Jordan Kipling, all of Central City and five step - grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. July 27 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Gene Gardner officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. July 26 with Masonic services at 7 p.m. at Tucker Funeral Home.

Douglas Eugene Aders

Douglas Eugene Aders, 60, died Sunday, July 24, 2005 at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.
Born in Muhlenberg County July 1, 1945, he was a truck driver and a member of Carter Creek Church. He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Miller and a brother, Wayne Aders.
Survivors include two sons, Mike Aders of Enenumclaw, Wash. and Tim Miller of Beechmont; five daughters, Angie English of Dunmor, Teresa Rose of Beech Creek, Melissa King and Gina Whitehouse, both of Central City and Kim Hunt of Beechmont; three brothers, Jerry Aders and Gary Aders, both of Greenville and Randy Aders of Drakesboro; his mother, Clara Belle Hall and 10 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. July 27 at Tucker Funeral Home with Linda Whitehouse officiating. Burial will follow in the Palestine Cemetery in McCracken County. Visitation will be from 5 - 9 p.m. July 26 at Tucker Funeral Home.

E.P. Piper

CLEATON - E.P. Piper, 70, died Monday, July 25, 2005 at Owensboro Medical Health System.
Born in Muhlenberg County March 18, 1935, he was self - employed in the firewood business.
Survivors include his wife, Violeatha Jones Piper; three sons, E.P. Piper, Jr. of Ohio County, William Piper of Gordo, Ala. and Bryan Piper of Cleaton; five daughters, Crystal Brough and Cynthia Napiorkowski, both of Chicago, Dolly Majors of Central City, Brenda Edwards of Luzerne and Theresa Napiorkowski of Ill.; a brother, Timmy Piper of Cleaton; three sisters, Lydia Jones of Calif., Rhoda King of Cleaton and Clodinen Mosley of Lewisburg and several grandchildren and great - grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. July 28 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Ted Everly officiating. Burial will follow in Miller Cemetery in Cleaton. Visitation will be from 5 - 9 p.m. July 27 at Tucker Funeral Home.

Joseph William “Sun Down” Harris, Sr.

GREENVILLE - Joseph William “Sun Down” Harris, Sr., 78, died, Thursday, July 21, 2005 at Owensboro Mercy Health System.
Born in Webster County July 4, 1927, he was the son of the late Ned and Myrtle Bradley Harris, an Army veteran, a retired coal miner and of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his wife Janet in 2003.
Survivors include a son, Joseph William (Kim) Harris, Jr. of Greenville; a daughter, Ellen (Charles) Thomas of Greenville; two sisters, Irene Nunley of Henderson and Sue Harper of W. Va.; a brother - in - law, Robert Dixon of Florence, Ala.; five grandchildren, Jennifer (Jon) Skaggs of Alvaton, Jaclyn Thomas of Lexington, Derrick Harris, Tyler Harris and Colin Harris, all of Greenville; two step - grandchildren, Eric Montgomery and Alyssa Montgomery, both of Greenville and two great - grandchildren, Avery Meredith Skaggs of Alvaton and Aiden Harris of Greenville.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. July 24 at Tucker Funeral Home with Dr. Arthur Burrows, Jr. officiating. Burial followed in Evergreen Cemetery in Greenville.

Clyde Thomas Piper

MADISONVILLE ­ Clyde Thomas Piper, 90, died Monday, July 17, 2006 at Senior Citizens Nursing Home in Madisonville.
Born in Muhlenberg County May 15, 1916, he was formerly of Cleaton. He was a retired miner, machinist and welder. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret L. Piper; his parents, Fred and Pinkie Piper; two sisters and four brothers.
Survivors include a son, Steven C. Piper of Madisonville; a brother, Doyle Piper of Greenville; a sister, Evelyn Devine of South Carrollton; three step - brothers; three step - sisters; four grandchildren and six great - grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. July 20 at Miller Cemetery in Cleaton with the Rev. Ted Everly officiating. Tucker Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mary Magdolene Smith

DRAKESBORO ­ Mary Magdolene Smith, 87, died Tuesday, July 18, 2006 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital.
She was born in Muhlenberg County Aug. 15, 1918 and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include three sons, Roger Levon Smith of Drakesboro, Sammy Smith of Greenville and James Smith of Portland, Tenn.; a daughter, Linda Kay Williams of Drakesboro; a brother, Charles Clark of Hanson; 16 grandchildren; 21 great - grandchildren and seven great - great - grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. July 21 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Greg Brooks officiating. Burial followed at Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City.

Lucinda Jane “Groves” Stanley

GRAHAM ­ Lucinda Jane “Groves” Stanley, 83, died Tuesday, July 18, 2006 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital.
Born in Muhlenberg County June 24, 1923, she was a housewife and of the non - denominational faith.
Survivors include four sons, Daniel Stanley, Billy Thomas Stanley and James Stanley, all of Graham and Jimmy Leon Stanley of White Plains; a brother, Jim Groves of Graham; two sisters, Pline Cobb of White Plains and Mary Rolley of Graham; 29 grandchildren and 45 great - grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. July 21 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Darryl Gates officiating. Burial followed at Oak Grove Cemetery in Depoy.

Gene Sullivan, Sr.

PENROD ­ Gene Sullivan, Sr., 79, died Tuesday, July 18, 2006 at St. Mary’s Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Jefferson City, Tenn.
Born in Eldorado, Ill. Nov. 19, 1926, he was an employee of Inland Steel as a steelworker for 32 years and a U.S Army Veteran of WWII.
Survivors include his wife, Carrie Cummins Sullivan; two sons, Gene Sullivan, Jr. of Penrod and Arnold “Wayne” Sullivan of New Market, Tenn.; a daughter, Bette McCampbell of Dandridge, Tenn., three brothers, Fred Sullivan, Bill Sullivan and Don Sullivan, all of Central City; two sisters, Barbara Jones of Ala. and Novella Hopkins of Fla. and five grandchildren.
Graveside military services were held at 11 a.m. July 22 at Fairmount Cemetery in Central City. Tucker Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Charlie Howard Hammonds

GREENVILLE ­ Charlie Howard Hammonds, 79, died Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at the Muhlenberg Community Hosptial.
Born in Muhlenberg County Nov. 11, 1926, he was the son of the late Charles Ephram Hammonds and Pinkie Bell Cook Hammonds. He was a member of Sharon General Baptist Church and was a heavy equipment contractor and also a WWII Army Veteran, having served in Japan. He was preceded in death by a son, Hubert Ray Hammonds.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Daisy Nell Rolley Hammonds; a son Clifton Wayne “Buddy” (Rebecca) Hammonds of Greenville; a daughter, Virginia Carol (Robert) Brown of Greenville; six grandchildren, Mechele (Barry) Waltrip, Sarah (Brian) Cronin, Charles Edward Hammonds and Huberta Renea (Tom) Wood, all of Greenville, Joey Ray Hammonds and Sherry Lynn Wells, both of Central City and five great - grandchildren, Adam Baxter, Telisha Wood and Alexander Grundy, all of Greenville, Makayla Renea Marshall of Central City and Danielle Hammonds of Canada.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. July 22 at Gary’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Ricky Peterson officiating. Burial followed at Eades Cemetery in Greenville.

Wilma Jean Reynolds

Wilma Jean Reynolds, 59, died Tuesday, July 18, 2006 at her residence in Central City.
Born in Muhlenberg County May 12, 1947, she was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church and was a sewing factory worker.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Doss of Drakesboro and Terry Sue Randolph of Central City; three brothers, Billy Wayne Cobb of Sturgis, Bobby Joe Cobb of Central City and David Earl Cobb of South Carrollton; a sister, Edith Mae Groves of Grand Rivers; three grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 1p.m. July 21 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Ted Everly officiating. Burial followed at Oak Grove Cemetery in Depoy.

Clara Lee Durall

GRAHAM ­ Clara Lee Durall, 83, died Friday, July 21, 2006 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital.
Born in Muhlenberg County Aug. 7, 1922, she was a homemaker and a member of First General Baptist Church in Detroit, Mich.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, T.H. Durall and two sisters, Bonnie Wright of Bremen and Barbara Wilkins of Greenville.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. July 23 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Tondra Daugherty officiating. Burial followed at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Bremen.

Dayton Ray Davenport

Dayton Ray Davenport, 69, died Saturday, July 22, 2006 at Glasgow State Nursing Facility in Glasgow Ky.
Born in Muhlenberg County Nov. 8, 1936, he was employed as a foreman at Durkees Foods in Louisville and was a U.S. Marine Veteran.
Survivors include a son, Carlos Davenport of Louisville; a daughter, Brenda Kline of Nashville; a brother, Robert Davenport of Central City and a sister, Kathy Locke of Glasgow; four grandchildren and three great - grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. July 25 at Fairmount Cemetery in Central City with the Rev. Leroy Rearden officiating. Tucker Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Bertha Lorene Siggers

GREENVILLE ­ Bertha Lorene Siggers, 65, died Sunday, July 23, 2006 at Muhlenberg Community hospital following a lengthy illness.
Born in Todd County Feb. 5, 1941, she was the daughter of Arl Dukes and Ella Davis Dukes. She had been employed by Dan Dee Motel and as a cook at Country Kitchen. She was a member of Lone Star Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Siggers in 1994.
Survivors include two sons, Lloyd Johnson Jr. and James A. Johnson, both of Greenville; four grandchildren, Melody Wallace, Brandy Rice, Amanda Johnson and Adam Johnson; four great - grandchildren, Mikka, Harley, Lindy and Haylee; three sisters, Rachel Boyd and Patsy Naylor, both of Hopkinsville and Shirley Rager of Elizabethtown and one brother, Carlton Johnson of Hopkinsville.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. July 25 at Gary’s Funeral Home. Burial followed at Emberry Cemetery.

Beulah Grise

QUALITY ­ Beulah Grise, 86, died Sunday, July 23, 2006 at Logan Memorial Hospital in Russellville.
Born in Butler County October 25, 1919, she was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Avery Wood Jenkins and Attice May Jenkins and her husband, J.V. Grise.
Survivors include four sons, Verner Grise of Morgantown, Garnie Grise of Indianapolis, Dwight Grise of Russellville and Daniel Grise of Bowling Green; eight daughters, Carmen Grise of Bowling Green, Janice Grise Miller of Tallahassee, Fla., Delila Grise Wells of Greenville, Shelia Grise Kessler of Scottsburg, Sylvia Grise Besse of Miamisburg, Ohio, Erlene Grise Owens of Louisville, Pamela Grise Mastin of Russellville and Ramona Grise Sweeney of Sharon Grove; an adopted daughter, Jo Freida Fuller of Quality; a brother Justice Jenkins of Quality; 12 grandchildren and several great - grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. July 26 at Price Funeral Home Inc. in Lewisburg with Dr. Ron Wells officiating. Burial followed at Concord Cemetery in Butler County.
