Diana M. Nicoll
Thursday, August 16, 2001
Diana M. (Holmes) Nicoll, 98, a longtime Andover resident, died Monday, Aug. 13 at the Prescott Nursing Home in North Andover.

She was born in Scotland and came to this country as a young girl. She attended the Free Christian Church and was a member of the Women's Union at the church. She was also a member of Clan Johnson.

She was the widow of Frank L. Nicoll.

Members of her family include her daughter and son-in-law, Diana and Michael Rotondo of Methuen; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Frank L. Nicoll Jr.

A funeral service will be held tomorrow, Friday, Aug. 17 at 10 a.m. at the Dewhirst and Conte Funeral Home, 28 Florence St. Burial will follow in West Parish Garden Cemetery in Andover.

Calling hours are today, Thursday, Aug. 16 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ronald D. Haley
Thursday, August 16, 2001
Ronald D. Haley, 78, of Andover, died Tuesday, Aug. 14 at Lahey Clinic in Burlington.

Mr. Haley was born in Canada and lived in Wakefield before moving to Andover 38 years ago. He was a truck mechanic for St. John's Trucking.

Mr. Haley was a veteran, having served in the US Army during World War II. He was a member of the International Machinist Union. He enjoyed volunteer work at the Andover Senior Center, Andover High School, the police station, Bancroft School, and Memorial Hall Library. He especially enjoyed helping senior citizens with repair work.

Members of his family include his wife, Dolores (Martin) Haley; son and daughter-in-law, Keith D. and Kathleen Haley of Little Compton, R.I.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Carole Marie and Frank Mullins of Davie, Fla. and Marion E. and John Dio of Saco, Maine; sister, Vera Curtin of Malden; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Calling hours will be tomorrow, Friday, Aug. 17 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Cota Funeral Home, 335 Park St., North Reading.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, Aug. 18 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Lindenwood Cemetery, Stoneham.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Andover Senior Center Building Fund, 36 Bartlet St., Andover, 01810.

Nancy Brooks Weiner

Nancy Brooks Weiner, 75, a longtime Andover and Ogunquit, Maine resident, died Sunday, Aug. 19 at York Hospital in York, Maine, after a long illness.

She grew up in Hingham and graduated from Katherine Gibbs School. She worked for many years as an executive secretary at Wm. Filene's & Sons.

After her marriage to Melvin L. Weiner, she got involved with the family business, holding executive positions at Weiner's Inc. of Lawrence and A. Lee Chemical Company of North Andover.

She was a member of Christ Church and St. Peter's Church in Cape Neddick, Maine. She was actively involved in many community projects including serving on the board of Hay Scales in North Andover and as a volunteer at hospitals in York and Lawrence. At one time, she was chosen as the Classic American Beauty.

In addition to her husband of 50 years, members of her family include sons, Stephen and his wife Kathryn Weiner of Andover and J. Brooks Weiner of Ogunquit; daughter, Abigail and her husband, John Taylor of Rye, N.H.; sisters, Betsy Terry of Wellfleet, Judith Wiley of Madison, Conn. and Marlen Wightman of Saratoga, Calif.; a brother, Winfield Brooks of Alna, Maine; and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services were private. A public memorial service will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to York Hospital, 15 Hospital Drive, York, ME 03909; or to the National Parkinson's Foundation.

Rita M. Molligi

Rita M. (Bourgeois) Molligi, 80, died Sunday, Aug. 19 at Academy Manor Nursing Home.

She was born in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada.

Mrs. Molligi was a certified nursing assistant and was on staff at several Lynn area nursing homes. During World War II, she worked at the Boston Naval Ship Yard.

She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church in North Chelmsford.

She was the widow of Michael Molligi. Members of her family include son and daughter-in-law, Joseph M. and Judith Molligi of Lowell; daughters, Ann M. and her husband Peter Sannizzaro of Medford, Carol A. and her husband Michael Angelari of Andover, Michele M. Furtado of North Chelmsford and Rose M. Molligi of Hillsboro, N.H.; brothers, Albert Bourgeois of Saugus, and Ernest Bourgeois and Jerry Bourgeois, both of Lynn; sisters, Theresa Larson of Clinton, Mo., and Rose Dreadon of Pensacola, Fla.; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held today, Thursday, Aug. 23 at the Dolan Funeral Home, 106 Middlesex St., Chelmsford, at 8 a.m. followed by a Mass at 9 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church in Chelmsford.

Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Chelmsford.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.

James J. Primes
Thursday, August 23, 2001
James J. Primes, 74, of Andover, died Monday, Aug. 20 at Emerson Rehabilitation of Watertown.

Mr. Primes was a meat cutter in Boston until he retired.

Born and educated in Boston, he graduated from Boston Trade School. He was a member of Sts. Constantine and Helen Church.

He was a member of Ahepa Boston Chapter and was also a member of the Amalgamated Meat Cutters Association in Boston.

He was the widower of Helen (Jenis) Primes. Members of his family include sons, John J. Primes and his fiancee Joanne Kalliavas of Arlington, Theodore J. and his wife Rhonda Primes, and Stephen J. and his wife Lisa Primes, all of Andover; brothers, George Primes of Lexington and Peter Primes of Hyde Park; sisters, Mary Michoulis of Westwood and Sylvia Mouradian of Hyde Park; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours were scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 22 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen.

A funeral service will be held today, Thursday, Aug. 23 at 10 a.m. at Sts. Constantine & Helen Church in Andover. Burial will follow in Greek Orthodox Cemetery, Somersworth, N.H.

Memorial contributions may be made to Sts. Constantine & Helen Church Community Center Building Fund, 71 Chandler Road, Andover, 01810.

Mary Bordieri
Thursday, August 23, 2001
Mary (Mushow) Bordieri, 80, of Methuen, died Sunday, Aug. 19 at Wingate at Andover after a brief illness.

Born in Lawrence and educated in Methuen, of which she was a lifelong resident, Mrs. Bordieri worked at the Internal Revenue Service in Andover.

She was also employed as a crossing guard and in the cafeteria for Methuen schools.

She was a member of St. Lucy Church and the Sargent Improvement Club of Methuen.

She was the widow of Michael Bordieri. Members of her family include daughters and sons-in-law, Frances and Robert DiCorpo of Fall River, and Kim and Roger Tremblay of Methuen; brother, John of Methuen; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Hospital Foundation, 70 East St., Methuen, MA 01844.

Arrangements were by Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen.

William Floyd
Thursday, August 23, 2001
William "Jim" Floyd, 87, of Brentwood, N.H. and a former longtime Andover resident, died Thursday, Aug. 16 at Parkland Medical Center in Derry, N.H.

Mr. Floyd owned a farm in Andover for several years. He also worked at Marlin Mills and for the Andover Public Works Department for almost 20 years until he retired in 1975.

He was born in Derry.

A dance instructor, he also was a caller for several square-dancing events. He and his wife were a part of several dance teams, including the Floyd Dancers and Rocketts in Andover and the Space Town Squares in Derry. Most recently, they taught line dancing to senior citizens in New Hampshire.

Members of his family include his wife of 69 years, Pauline (Schoff) Floyd; son and daughter-in-law, James and Anne Floyd of Lowell; daughter, Betty Ebner of Danville, N.H.; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements were by Dewhirst & Conte Funeral Home, 28 Florence St., Andover.
