Kenneth Cahoon, 84
Taught math in Chatham; retired boat yard foreman
CHATHAM - Kenneth Bangs Cahoon, 84, a former teacher and foreman of the Old Mill boat yard in Chatham, died yesterday at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston. He was the husband of Dorothy (Bismore) Cahoon for 58 years. Mr. Cahoon was born in Harwich and graduated from Barnstable High School in 1929 and from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1935. He taught high school in Chatham for several years, teaching math, algebra and history. In Chatham, Mr. Cahoon was a longtime foreman at the Old Mill boat yard and worked as a house painter for many years. Mr. Cahoon enjoyed canoeing and refinishing furniture. An avid sailor, he also enjoyed teaching sailing at Camp Mansquoit in Orleans for many years. Mr. Cahoon was an avid fan of the Chatham A's and kept score for the Cape Cod Baseball League team. Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Richard K. Cahoon of Zeiglerville, Pa. and Donald R. Cahoon of Dedham; two daughters, Carolyn "Cally" Nickerson of West Chatham, and Peggy J. Hemeon of Harwich Port; a sister, Muriel Welch of South Yarmouth; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Former Connecticut clerk; retired to North Falmouth
MASHPEE - Ann R. Hughes died yesterday at the Center for Optimum Care, Mashpee, after a long illness. She was the wife of the late William C. Hughes. Mrs. Hughes was born in Greenwich, Conn. She worked as a clerk in the collector's office for the town of Greenwich for many years. Mrs. Hughes also worked in the note department for Putnam Trust Company - now the Bank of New York-. She retired in 1989 and moved to North Falmouth. Surviving are two daughters, Pat Dratch of North Falmouth and Carol Hughes of Yarmouth; a son, Michael Hughes of Amawalk, N.Y.; a sister, Prudence Tyminski of Greenwich, Conn.; and three grandchildren. Howard Kitchen, 91
Formerly of Centerville; retired jazz violinist; golfer
SARASOTA, Fla. - Howard Vincent Kitchen, 91, a retired jazz violinist, died Wednesday at the Clare Bridge House convalescent home in Sarasota following a brief illness. He was married to Kathleen (Gannon) Kitchen for 61 years, prior to her death in September. Mr. Kitchen was born and educated in in East Orange, N.J. He lived in Centerville for 20 years before moving to Florida in May. He was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church and the Osterville Men's Club. He was an avid golfer. Survivors include a daughter, Carol Starostecki of Sarasota, Fla.; two grandsons, one granddaughter, one great-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews. A memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Aug. 23 in St. Cassians Church, Upper Montclair, N.J. Burial will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery in New Jersey. Merton M. Levine, 87
Retired Maine cattle dealer; worked at Stop & Shop
WEST YARMOUTH - Merton M. Levine, 87, a retired cattle dealer, died Saturday at the Cape Cod Hospital Extended Care--Pavilion in Hyannis. He was the husband of Irene S. (Manza) Levine. Mr. Levine was born in Waterville, Maine, where he lived until he moved to West Yarmouth 26 years ago. In Waterville he raised his own cattle and was a cattle dealer. He retired in 1965. Mr. Levine worked at the Stop & Shop in Hyannis and also for the Electrolux company. He was a member of the Cape Cod Synagogue and an associate member of Hadassah. Surviving are a daughter, Donna Levine Hirshberg of Yarmouthport; a brother, Dr. Ralph W. Levine of Lexington; three sisters, Patricia Levy and Janet Dalis, both of New York, and Zeta Levine of Florida; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral was yesterday at the Cape Cod Synagogue, 145 Winter St., Hyannis. A memorial observance will be held in the evenings today and tomorrow at his daughter's home in Yarmouthport. Joseph Matta
Retired merchant; former police, fire chief; selectman
HYANNIS - Joseph E. Matta of Hyannis, a retired deputy sheriff, Provincetown store owner who worked as police chief, fire chief and briefly as selectman, died July 9 at Cape Cod Hospital. He was born and educated in Provincetown schools. He and his wife, Elizabeth (Fratus) Matta, would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Oct. 12. When they married, Matta was a painting contractor in Provincetown and Truro who employed a crew of 12. Later they owned and operated Matta's 5 cents to $1 store on Commercial Street, diagonally across from the post office in Provincetown. He was appointed court officer to Barnstable Superior Court in the early 1950s, a job he worked for 28 years. At the same time, he worked for the Nickerson Funeral Home and later for Doane, Beal & Ames Inc. Funeral Service for five years. In Provincetown, Mr. Matta served in a variety of town jobs, as police chief, fire chief and health agent. He was elected selectman, a post he held briefly just before the town changed to a part-time board and town manager. The Mattas moved to Hyannis in 1972 after selling the store. He retired and began to collect old clocks, which he bought at flea markets and auctions and repaired. At one time he had 82 clocks in his house, which he sold to a dealer a few years ago. Mr. Matta was a member of the Retired State & Municipal Employees Association, the National Sheriffs Association and the Association of Massachusetts Deputy Sheriffs and Barnstable County Deputy Sheriff's Association, the New England Associations of Fire Chiefs Inc. and the national Association of Watch and Clock Collectors Inc. In addition to his wife, he is survived by four grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Memorial services were July 11 at Monsignor's Chapel in Provincetown.

Irene Perrott, 82
Retired executive secretary; Great Books Club member
POCASSET - Irene K. Perrott, 82, a retired executive secretary, died at her home Saturday. She was the wife of the late Milton S. Perrott. Mrs. Perrott was born in Buffalo, N.Y. She worked as an executive secretary in the Williamsville Central School School System. Mrs. Perrott moved to Cape Cod in 1974 and worked as executive secretary for the Sheraton Inn in Falmouth. An avid reader, she was a longtime member of the Falmouth Libraries Great Books Club. Mrs. Perrott was active on the archives committee of the Bourne Historical Society. She also was the treasurer of Cedar Point Association for many years. Surviving are three daughters, Jean Snyder of Clarence, N.Y., Sue Stafford of Andover and Lynn Smith of Grand Rapids, Mich.; a sister, Lucille Thielke of Gathersburg, Md.; five grandchildren; two great-granchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A gathering of friends and family will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at 14 Cedar Point Drive, Bourne. Donald Bassett, 73
Veteran; Harwich native; liked fishing, country music
HYANNIS - Donald E. Bassett, 73, a longtime Hyannis resident, died Monday at his home. He was the husband of the late Helen (Aguiar) Bassett, who died July 9. Mr. Bassett was born in Harwich and attended Harwich schools. He served in the Army during World War II and worked for the Barnstable Water Co. for 30 years, retiring in 1988. He lived in Hyannis since the 1940s. Mr. Bassett loved fishing and country western music. Surviving are two sons, Donald E. Bassett Jr. of Hyannis and Robert E. Bassett of Milwaukee, Ore.; a sister, Eunice Henry of Hyannis; three grandsons; one granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews. Dr. Bentley P. Colcock, 90
Boston surgeon; active in medical organizations
WEST CHATHAM - Dr. Bentley P. Colcock, 90, a surgeon for 40 years at the Lahey Clinic in Boston, died of Alzheimer's disease Monday at Eagle Pond Rehabilitation and Living Center in Dennis. He was the husband of Grace H. Colcock. Dr. Colcock was born in Brockville, Ontario, Canada. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of Washington in 1929 and his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1933. He served his internship and fellowship training at Philadelphia General Hospital before beginning a fellowship in surgery at the Lahey Clinic in 1936. Dr. Colcock joined the Lahey medical staff in 1938, specializing in abdominal and thyroid surgery. He wrote 250 articles and two books on these areas, and shared his expertise with young physicians in the Lahey Clinic's physician education program. He was a lieutenant colonel in the Army Medical Corps during World War II, earning a Bronze Star. Dr. Colcock served as chairman of the Board of Governors of the American College of Surgeons, and president of the Massachusetts Medical Society. He was a trustee and member of the Board of Governors of the Lahey Clinic Foundation. He moved to West Chatham upon his retirement in 1973. Dr. Colcock was a founder and prime mover in establishing Medicenter 5, now the Long Pond Medical Center, in Harwich, and served on the boards of the Visiting Nurse Association and Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis. Surviving besides his wife are three daughters, Ann Colcock Stillman of Boston, Susan Colcock Mitchel of Center Sandwich, N.H., and Jane Colcock Lunt of West Southport, Maine; a sister, Alberta C. Castle of Tucson, Ariz.; three granddaughters; one grandson; and one great-grandson. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Aug. 12 in the board room at Lahey Hitchcock Medical Center in Burlington. Richard 'Red' Greenfield, 67
Air Force retiree; musician; sportsman; lodge member
FALMOUTH - Richard C. "Red" Greenfield, 67, a retired Air Force master sergeant, died Monday at his home in Falmouth. He was the husband of Katherine (Peterson) Greenfield, who died in 1994. Mr. Greenfield was born in Worcester and served in the Air Force from 1951 until retiring as master sergeant in 1972. He was a 1983 graduate of Delaware State College and moved to Falmouth after he graduated. Mr. Greenfield was a member of the Marine Lodge AF & AM in Falmouth and the Scottish Rite. He also was a member of the VFW in Falmouth and the Waquoit Congregational Church. Mr. Greenfield was an avid sportsman and musician. Surviving are a son, Robert A. Cape landscaper; veteran; fished off Nauset Beach
ORLEANS - Ronald Fagan, 53, a self-employed landscaper, died July 23 at Deaconess Hospital in Boston. He was born in New York, N.Y., and served in the Army. Mr. Fagan was an avid fisherman who enjoyed fishing off Nauset Beach. Surviving is a daughter, Talia L. Fagan of Orleans. Burial will be private.

Elizabeth Kline, 48
Leaves sister on Cape; resident of California
CASTAIC, Calif. - Elizabeth Anne Kline, 48, who leaves a sister in West Yarmouth, died Friday in Ventura, California. She was the wife of Lewis Kline. Mrs. Kline was born and raised in Attleboro and moved to California about 25 years ago. Surviving besides her husband are two daughters, Jennifer Kline of San Diego and Sara Kline of Castaic; and a sister, Donna Dalpe of West Yarmouth. A memorial service will be at noon Friday at Eternal Valley Mortuary Chapel in Newhall, Calif.

Thomas Noonan, 70
WWII Navy veteran; retired manager for Litton Corp.
SOUTH YARMOUTH - Thomas G. Noonan, 70, a retired sales manager, died yesterday at his home in South Yarmouth. He was the husband of Ruth E. (Cusack) Noonan. Born in Boston, Mr. Noonan graduated from Wayland High School in 1945. He attended Northeastern University and served in the Navy during World War II. Mr. Noonan worked as a regional sales manager for the Litton Corp. for many years. He retired several years ago. Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Gary T. Noonan of Tennessee and Mark E. Noonan of Ashland; two daughters, Beth N. Hill of Worcester and Nancy M. Noonan of Ashland; two brothers, Francis Noonan of Worcester and James Noonan of Harwich; two sisters, Sheila Dahlen of Duxbury and Susan Noonan of Cambridge; seven grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Retired to Eastham; volunteered with scouts
EASTHAM - Edna Rawson Pease, 86, a longtime resident of Eastham, died Monday at the Pleasant Bay Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Brewster. She was the wife of Robert W. Pease for 48 years. Mrs. Pease was born in Jersey City, N.J. She lived in the Springfield area for most of her life, where she was active in the Girl Scout movement and was a hospital volunteer. She had been a summer resident of Eastham since 1946, and moved toEastham permanently in 1977. Mrs. Pease worked at the Mass Mutual Life Insurance Co. and Monarch Life Insurance Co., both in Springfield. She was a member of the Eastham United Methodist Church, Friends of Eastham Council on Aging, Friends of the Eastham Library, Eastham Historical Society and Orleans Woman's Club. Surviving besides her husband are two daughters, Susan Barnes of Webster, N.H., and Cynthia Kadzik of West Hartford, Conn.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Richard Reilly, 60
Travel agency owner; lived many years in Attleboro
COTUIT - Richard A. Reilly, 60, a travel agency owner, died Monday at his home after a long illness. He was the husband of Gretchen (Augat) Reilly. Mr. Reilly was born in Attleboro and lived there until moving to Cotuit last year. He graduated from Tabor Academy and from Boston College in 1961. Mr. Reilly joined the L.G. Balfour Co. in Attleboro as a product manager until 1978 when he bought Bristol Travel. He was the president of Bristol Travel at the time of his death. Mr. Reilly was a member of the Attleboro Lions Club, the Attleboro YMCA, the Oyster Harbors Club and Willowbend Country Club. Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Sean Reilly of Hyannis and Geoff Reilly of Cotuit; a daughter, Taylor Reilly of Cotuit; two brothers, William Reilly of Marblehead and Marshall Reilly of Centerville; and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving is his mother, Janet (Marshall) Reilly of Osterville. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the Second Congregational Church, 50 Park St., Attleboro. Burial will be private.

Edith E. Ryan, 92
Retired nurse in Gardner; leaves nieces on Cape
WEST HARWICH - Edith E. Ryan, 92, a retired industrial nurse, died Thursday at Pleasant Bay Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Brewster. She was the wife of Joseph M. Ryan, who died in 1956. Mrs. Ryan was born in Fitchburg and raised in Gardner. She graduated from Gardner High School in 1922. She was employed for many years as an industrial nurse at Heywood Wakefield Furniture Co. in Gardner. Mrs. Ryan moved to Harwich from Gardner nearly 40 years ago. She was employed by Cape Cod Hospital in the medical records department prior to her retirement. Mrs. Ryan enjoyed knitting, crocheting, tatting, needlepoint and sewing. Surviving are three nieces, Patricia Stewart of North Eastham, Claire Cook of Chatham and Irene Cook of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and two nephews, Charles Cook of Ron Kon Koma, N.Y. and Allen Cook of Appleton, Wis. A memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Aug. 7 in Holy Trinity Church, West Harwich, followed by a 2 p.m. graveside service in St. John's Cemetery, Gardner. BREWSTER - Wilfred "Bill" Alarie, 84, a retired court officer, died at his home Monday after a long illness. He was the former husband of Ann (Johnson) Alarie. Mr. Alarie was born and raised in Worcester. He served in the Army during World War II. He was a Superior Court officer in Worcester for many years, retiring in 1978. Surviving besides his former wife are a son, Denis Alarie of Wellington, Fla.; a daughter, Donna Alarie of Benicia, Calif.; a granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. Kenneth R. Berry, 67
Retired mechanical engineer; Navy veteran
SOUTH YARMOUTH - Kenneth Roland Berry, 67, a retired mechanical engineer, died of heart failure Tuesday at his home. He was the husband of Carrie May (Huggins) Berry. Mr. Berry was born and raised in Larkinsville, Ala., and graduated from Scottsboro High School in Scottsboro, Ala. He earned an associate's degree in mechanical engineering from the Navy. He moved to South Yarmouth in 1994 from Scottsboro. He had lived in Great Barrington for 10 years before moving back to Scottsboro. Mr. Berry served in the Navy from 1946 to 1966, retiring as a petty officer first class. He then worked for Tennessee Valley Authority for 15 years as a mechanical engineer. He retired in 1990. He was a member of VFW Post 8348 in Great Barrington. Surviving besides his wife are a son, K. Scott Berry of Nashville, Tenn.; a brother, John Will Berry of Alabama; and three sisters, Bettye Bradford of Alabama, Geneva McCuskey of Alabama and Carol Patterson of Tennessee. Michael Burtis, 43
Worked as consultant; lifelong Falmouth resident
EAST FALMOUTH - Michael Burtis, 43, a lifelong Falmouth resident, died unexpectedly Tuesday at Falmouth Hospital. He was born in Wareham and raised in Falmouth. He was a consultant associated with Little River Boat Yard in Waquoit, his family's business. Mr. Burtis was a movie buff and dog lover. Surviving are his father, William E. Burtis of Mashpee; a son, Jacob Burtis of Falmouth; four brothers, William C. Burtis of North Falmouth, Jonathan Burtis of Waquoit, Mark Burtis of Mashpee and Adam Burtis of East Falmouth; and two sisters, Mary Burtis of Pacifica, Calif., and Sarah Burtis of East Falmouth. He also leaves his caregiver and extended family, Joyce Cooley of East Falmouth and her daughters, Christine Maddox, Tammy DelSignore, and Claudette and Sherri Morgrass. Services will be private. John C. Finglas, 68
Retired phone company manager; Army veteran
HYANNIS - John C. Finglas, 68, a retired New England Telephone employee, died Friday at his home after a brief illness. He was the husband of Mary A. (Linehan) Finglas. Mr. Finglas was born and raised in Fall River. He summered in Portsmouth, R.I., while growing up. He graduated from Providence College and attended Georgetown Law School. He was drafted and served in the Army at the Pentagon during the Korean War. Mr. Finglas moved back to Fall River after being discharged. He moved to Boston in the mid-1950s, where he worked for New England Telephone Co. in the field for a short time before being moved to a management position. He moved from Boston to Mar-blehead in the early 1970s. He moved to Hyannis in 1985 upon his retirement from a budget and management position with New England Telephone. Mr. Finglas was a communicant of St. Francis Xavier Church in Hyannis and a member of the Hyannis Yacht Club. He enjoyed spending time at his vacation home in Balinsloe, County Galway, Ireland. Surviving besides his wife are a son, Edward N. Finglas of Marblehead; a daughter, Maria Finglas of Hyannis; a sister, Elizabeth Silva of Fall River; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Francis Xavier Church, South Street, Hyannis. Charles Flanders, 75
Retired Raytheon engineer; Cape summer resident
MEDFORD - Charles Ross Flanders, 75, a Yarmouth summer resident who leaves a son in West Yarmouth, died Tuesday at his home in Medford. He was the husband of Ann. M. (DiGirolamo) Flanders. Mr. Flanders was born in New York, N.Y., and raised in Arlington. He attended Suffolk University and served in the Navy during World War II. Mr. Flanders worked for Raytheon in Bedford and Sudbury as an engineer for more than 34 years. He was a member of the Yarmouth Moose, VFW Post 1012 in Medford, the American Legion Post 45 in Medford and the Arlington Disabled American Veterans. Mr. Flanders was also a member of the Hyannis Yacht Club and the Hyannis Elks Lodge. Surviving besides his wife are a son, C. Ross Flanders III of West Yarmouth; a daughter, Kristine Gilson of Plymouth; three brothers, Albert Flanders of Marshfield, William Flanders of Quincy and Robert Flanders of Pelham, N.H. Resident of Westboro; leaves brother on Cape
WESTBORO - Margaret L. (Chapman) Knight, 76, who leaves a brother in Dennisport, died yesterday at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester after a long illness. She was the wife of Richard William Knight, who died in 1992. Mrs. Knight was born in Milford and graduated from Milford High School in 1939. She was employed by the Milford Chamber of Commerce and in the advertising department at the former Draper Corp. in Hopedale. Mrs. Knight had lived in Westboro since 1954 and was a longtime communicant of St. Luke the Evangelist Church in Westboro. Surviving is a brother, John E. Chapman of Dennisport and Medway. A funeral will be held at 9 a.m. tomorrow at Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress St., Milford. Genevieve V. Sarno, 78
Native of Connecticut; Cape resident since 1994
YARMOUTHPORT - Genevieve V. (Starr) Sarno, 78, died Tuesday at Eagle Pond Rehabilitation and Living Center in South Dennis. She was the wife of Armand L. Sarno, who died in 1991. Mrs. Sarno was born in Enfield, Conn., and also lived in Randolph. She moved to Cape Cod in 1994. She was a communicant of St. Patrick Church in Enfield. Surviving are three sons, Stanley A. Sarno of Pembroke, Richard P. Sarno of Pinehurst, N.C., and William F. Sarno of Dennis; two sisters, Sister Mary Mark of West Hartford, Conn., and Ann Cleaver of Wethersfield, Conn.; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was the mother of the late Mark Sarno and Arthur Sarno; and a daughter, Starr Sarno. A funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 6 South Road, Enfield; followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church. Burial will be in St. Patrick's King Street Cemetery, Enfield. Visiting hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels.

Mariane H. Schumm, 70
Native of New Jersey; enjoyed gardening, bridge
BREWSTER - Mariane H. (Molineaux) Schumm, 70, died Tuesday at Cape Cod Hospital Extended Care Community - Pavilion, Hyannis. She was the wife of Walter R. Schumm. Mrs. Schumm was born in South Orange, N.J., and graduated from Upsala College in New Jersey with a teaching degree. She lived in Stockbridge and moved to Brewster in 1990. Mrs. Schumm was an avid bridge player. She also enjoyed gardening and was a lifelong supporter of the ASPCA. Surviving besides her husband are two daughters, Susan S. Godley of Port Orange, Fla., and Arlette S. Levitan of Flagstaff, Ariz.; a brother, John F. Molineaux of Shreveport, La.; and four grandchildren. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. tomorrow at the Brewster Baptist Church, 1832 Main St., Brewster. Burial will be private. Nicholas Leon Szado, 19
Commercial fisherman; lifelong Chatham resident
SOUTH CHATHAM - Nicholas Leon Szado, 19, a lifelong Chatham resident, died unexpectedly Tuesday at Cape Cod Hospital, Hyannis. He was born in Hyannis and raised in Chatham. He graduated from Chatham High School in 1996. Mr. Szado was a commercial fisherman aboard the fishing vessel Pillory, out of Chatham Fish Pier. He worked as a shellfisherman, fishing for softshell clams, during his high school years. Mr. Szado loved the water and was an avid boater and fisherman. Surviving are his parents, Thomas M. Szado and Arlene M. (Iuzanski) Szado, of South Chatham; his paternal grandmother, Helen Szado of East Harwich; his maternal grandmother, Pauline Iuzanski of Hyde Park; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. tomorrow at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Highland Avenue, Chatham. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Chatham. Visiting hours are 7 to 9 tonight at the Nickerson Funeral Home, Crowell Road, Chatham. Lena A. Tavares, 88
Retired accountant; worked as volunteer for hospitals
EAST FALMOUTH - Lena A. (Simon) Tavares, 88, a retired accountant, died yesterday at Olympus Health Care Center in Falmouth after a brief illness. She was the wife of Charles M. Tavares, who died in 1976. Mrs. Tavares was born in Fall River and raised in New Bedford. She moved to Falmouth in 1952 from Middletown, Conn. She worked as a CPA for several accounting firms in Connecticut and Falmouth. Mrs. Tavares was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church in East Falmouth. She volunteered at Falmouth Hospital and Barnstable County Hospital. Surviving are a son, Ronald L. Audette of Teaticket; a stepson, Albert Tavares of Cranston, R.I.; two grandsons; and one great-grandson. A funeral Mass will be at 9 a.m. tomorrow at St. Anthony's Church, Route 28, East Falmouth. Burial will follow in St. Anthony's Cemetery, East Falmouth. Visiting hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Chapman, Cole and Gleason Funeral Home, 475 Main St. (Route 28), Falmouth.

Mary Veara, 96
Lifelong Provincetown resident; St. Peter's member
PROVINCETOWN - Mary (Silva) Veara, 96, a Provincetown native, died yesterday at Cape End Manor, Provincetown. She was the wife of the late Joseph Veara. Born and raised in Provincetown, Mrs. Veara lived there her entire life. She was a member of St. Peter's Church in Provincetown and the Catholic Daughters. Surviving are a daughter, Alice M. Pasteris of Hyannis; and a stepsister, Anna Saisi of Watertown. Mrs. Veara was also the mother of the late Joseph R. Veara. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow in St. Peter's Cemetery, Provincetown.
