Paul Anthony Breslin

BRAINTREE - Paul Anthony Breslin, age 86, of Braintree died peacefully after a long illness on Monday May 12, 2008. Mr. Breslin was a retired teacher and administrator of the Quincy Public Schools. He taught school in Rockland, Boston and Quincy for thirty-five years, then was Principal of Sterling Junior High School in Quincy from 1973 until 1982.

Mr. Breslin was a poet and writer. He was elected to the International Poetry Hall of Fame for his poem, “Lovely Mystic Moon”. He published The Grandpa Stories to please his daughter and grandsons, and his opinion letters were frequently published in The Patriot Ledger and The Boston Globe.

Mr. Breslin was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts on December 18, 1921 and was educated in the Somerville and Cambridge Schools. He Studied at St. Mary’s Pre-Theological School in Pennsylvania, prior to receiving his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Boston College Evening School in 1949. He was also awarded a Masters Degree in Education from Bridgewater State Teacher’s College in 1950.

Husband of the late Esther (Drehs) Breslin. Mr. Breslin leaves behind his beloved daughter, Janet Gilmartin, son-in-law, Richard Gilmartin, and two dearly loved Grandsons, Jason Paul Gilmartin and Kenton John Paul Gilmartin all of Hull, Massachusetts. He is also survived by three adoring sisters, Barbara Murphy of Waltham, Rose Blake of Cambridge and Joan Fallon of Lexington, as well as a large number of loving nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and many special friends.

Peck - Russell Peck Funeral home 516 Washington Street BRAINTREE on Monday May 19, 2008 at 9:30 a.m. Funeral Mass at Saint Francis of Assisi Church, 856 Washington Street, SOUTH BRAINTREE SQUARE at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at the Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Visiting hours on Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Russell Clifton Bricknell

Middleborough – Braintree - Russell Clifton Bricknell, 84 years of age of Middleborough, formerly of Braintree, passed away on Thursday June 12, 2008 at the Kindred Hospital Northeast in Braintree. He was born in Brockton, March 23, 1924, and graduated from Brockton High School, Class of 1942, and from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Class of 1948. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was employed at the Fore River Shipyard by the Bethlehem Steel Corporation and later for General Dynamics as an Electrical Engineer from the years 1948 to 1976. More recently he was employed as an Electrical Engineer for the Metcalf and Eddy Engineering Firm in Boston and was able to travel the world while working. His hobbies and interests include genealogy, weaving, cooking, woodworking, and anything to do with computers and electronic gadgets. He was as active member of the South Congregational Church in Braintree where he had served as a Deacon. He moved to Braintree in 1954 and then to Oak Point in Middleborough in 2004.

He is survived by his wife Jeannette B. (Mostrom) Bricknell, to whom he had been married for 48 years since their wedding on February 18, 1950. He is also survived by five children: Diane Mikolajczyk and her husband Walter of Punta Gorda, FL, Mark Bricknell and his wife Jill of Roswell, GA, Stephen Bricknell and his wife Julie of Jackson, Missouri, Scott Bricknell of Braintree and Thomas Bricknell and his wife Karen of Stow, MA. In addition he leaves seven grandchildren, Keven Bricknell, Cailin Portra, Laura Bricknell, Michael Bricknell, Nicolette Bricknell, Joshua Bricknell, and Jordan Bricknell.

The funeral Service will be held at the South Congregational Church, Corner of Washington and Pond Streets, SOUTH BRAINTREE, on Saturday, June 14 at 11:30am. The Rev. Scott Killian, Pastor of the church will officiate. There will be collation at the Church. Fellowship Hall following the service, relatives and friends are invited. Burial will be at a later date at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. The funeral home visiting hours will be private for the family. Memorial donations may be sent to the South Congregational Church, 1075 Washington Street, South Braintree, MA 02184, or to the charity of the donor's choice.

WEYMOUTH - Daniel Robert Berardi, 46 years of age died unexpectedly on Monday September 13, 2010. Daniel was a lifelong Weymouth resident and a graduate of Weymouth High School class of 1983. He had worked for several years as a Roofer for the Devin Roofing Company and more recently as a cook at Denly Gardens in Weymouth. Daniel is survived by his parents Louis and Jo-Anne G. (Linscott) Berardi of Weymouth. He is also survived by his son Daniel R. Berardi, Jr. of Middleboro. He is survived four brothers Michael L. Berardi, Donald P. Berardi, Ronald J. Berardi and William P. Berardi and two sisters Gail A. Dunlap and Donna M. DiBello all of Weymouth. and by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Immaculate Conception Church, East Weymouth on Saturday, September 25, 2010 9:00am. Burial will be private at a later date. Braintree – Michael Andrew Centauro, 75 years of age, entered Life Eternal at the Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Boston on Sunday, October 17, 2010. He was born in Belmont and received his education in Lexington Schools and Military Schools. He served in the U.S. Army during both the Korean and Vietnam Conflicts with combat service in both Korea and Vietnam. He was a Sergeant First Class who served a total of more than twenty-five years in the Army. He received the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm and Bronze Star Medal among other decorations. Following his military service he was an employee of the U.S. Post Office working mostly at the General Mail Facility in Boston. Michael was a member of the Veterans’ of Foreign Wars Post in Braintree. He had resided in Braintree since 1984. He is the beloved husband of Grace E.(Giusti) Centauro and the devoted father of Michael Centauro married to Audrey Centauro of Waltham and Anthony Michael Centauro of Braintree. He is the loving brother of Robert married to Judy Centauro of Woburn and Frances Grove of Chelmsford. There will be a gathering at the Mortimer N. Peck – Russell Peck Funeral Home 516 Washington St., BRAINTREE on Thursday, October 2lst at 10:00 A.M. to be followed by a Funeral Mass in the Church of Saint Thomas More, Elm Street and Hawthorn Road, Braintree at 11:00 A.M. Weymouth - Rosalie Marie (Cole) Clifford, age 87, entered Life Eternal on Monday, October 25, 2010 at the South Shore Hospital. She was a 49 year resident of East Weymouth, formerly of Roxbury, Dorchester, and Milton. Mrs. Clifford attended Catholic parochial schools; her first job was a busgirl at the Premiere Restaurant in Boston, MA, promoted to Waitress for 2 years. Rosalie worked for 10 years at the Schrafts Candy Company in Charleston as a Chocolate Candy production worker. After several years was promoted to Candy Final Inspector. After the birth of her first child, she became a homemaker for the rest of her life. She was a former Brownie Troop Leader, an active member of the East Weymouth Candlepin Bowling League, and a Communicant at St. Albert the Great Church in East Weymouth. Rosalie was the wife of the late Edward J. Clifford who died in 1971. She is the devoted mother of three children: Richard E. Clifford and his wife Maureen of Hanson, Nancy A. Medeiros and her husband George of East Bridgewater, and Michael J. Clifford of East Weymouth. She is the loving grandmother of five Grandchildren: Kathleen A. Lynam and husband Kevin of Whitman, Kristen L. Clifford of Islington London England, James R. Clifford and Fiancé Betsey Willis of Braintree, Matthew J. Medeiros and Amanda M. Medeiros of East Bridgewater, three Great Grandchildren: Mary-Katherine, John F. and James F. Lynam of East Bridgewater. She was the daughter of the late Cyril Victor Cole and the late Mary Ann (Murphy) Cole and sister of the late Cyril (Bud) Victor Cole Jr. and his wife Mary C. (MacDonald) Cole. A gathering will be held at the Mortimer N. Peck – Russell Peck Funeral Home, 870 Broad Street (Opposite the U.S. Post Office in Jackson Square) on Friday, October 29th at 9:00 A.M. to be followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Albert the Great Church, 1130 Washington St., Weymouth at 10:00 A.M. Sandra Jean Brunstrom

Braintree – Sandra (Lally) Brunstrom, 67 years of age, entered Eternal Life October 22, 2010 in Leesburg, FL Sandra had been a Braintree resident for thirty-three years before moving to Florida ten years ago. She was born in Quincy. The daughter of the late Harry and Alta Lally. . She was a long time employee of Bradlees Corporate Office in Braintree. Sandy enjoyed traveling, dancing, bowling, the beach and spending time with her family and friends. Sandy leaves her devoted husband William her loving children William J and his wife Heather of Plymouth, Tammy Bregoli and her husband Stephen of Braintree, Jennifer Brunstrom and her significant other Kenneth Towmbly of S. Weymouth. She also leaves 12 adoring grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers Kenneth Lally of Leesburg, FL, Ronald Lally of Hanover, MA, Robert Lally of Quincy, MA, her dear friend and sister-in-law Cynthia “Cindy” Brunstrom of Braintree whose husband was the late Butch Brunstrom. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. Sandra was a parishioner of Saint Thomas More Church in Braintree. A Catholic Prayer Service will be held at the Mortimer N. Peck – Russell Peck Funeral Home 516 Washington St., Braintree on Thursday, October 28th at 11:00 A.M. Relatives and friends are invited. Doris Guild Baier

Braintree - Doris Guild (Babcock) Baier, 84 years of age, died on Friday, December 10, 2010 at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston after a brief illness. Doris was born in Lynn and received her education in Norwood where she graduated from Norwood High School in 1944. She went on to the Newton-Wellesley School of Nursing graduating in 1947. While working for several hospitals, she continued her education and received her Bachelor of Psychology Degree from Emmanuel College in Boston in 1978. Doris had worked as a registered nurse in several hospitals during her career including the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD, the Norwood Hospital, and the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth from which she retired in the early 90’s. She had formerly resided in Norfolk, Virginia, Framingham, Westwood, Scituate, and finally Braintree since 1968. She was an active member of the First Congregational Church of Braintree where she was on the Board of Trustees and several other committees. Doris was the past president of the Sodalitas Group at the First Church. She was also the corresponding secretary for the Chapter Y of the PEO Sisterhood. She was a member of the Braintree Historical Society and volunteered for their elementary school program at the Thayer House in Braintree. Doris initiated the Campfire Girls organization in the town of Scituate. She received the Wakan Award which is the highest service award given by the Campfire Girls. Doris was a world traveler and had often stated that it was her mission to see the entire world before she left it. She enjoyed spending time at the Trapp Family Lodge in Stow, Vermont where she also participated in Cross Country Skiing. Doris was an accomplished seamstress and specialized in making the American Girl doll clothes. Doris also volunteered at the First Church Summer camp and the Campfire Girls camp as the Camp nurse. She is the wife of the late John Henry Baier III who died in 1986. She is the devoted and loving mother of Linda Guild Mahonen who was married to the late James Mahonen of Pembroke, Claudia Jane DeLucia married to Alfred DeLucia of Chelmsford, and Philip V. Baier married to Lelia Baier of Braintree. She is the loving grandmother of Carolyn Louise Baier and Philip J. A. Baier both of Braintree and Jane D. Smith married to Bryan Smith of Canton. She was the sister of the late Russell H. Babcock. Doris is also survived by five nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held at the First Congregational Church, 12 Elm Street Braintree on Wednesday December 15 at 11:00 A.M. Interment will be private. Visiting hours will be at the Mortimer N. Peck – Russell Peck Funeral Home 516 Washington Street BRAINTREE on Tuesday December 14 from 4-8 P.M. WEYMOUTH - Nancy K. (Jenkins) Follett - MacDonald, 84 years of age passed away peacefully on Wednesday February 16, 2011 at the Royal Rehabilitation Center in Braintree. Nancy was born in Cambridge and raised in Portland, ME. She had been a longtime Weymouth resident also having resided in Braintree and Quincy. Nancy was a graduate of Portland High School and graduated from Simmons College where she was the class secretary, class of 1950 and Bridgewater State University receiving her Bachelor’s of Education. Nancy taught for several years at Sacred Heart School in Weymouth Landing as a sixth grade teacher. Upon retiring she was employed as a substitute teacher for schools in Quincy, Braintree and Weymouth and was employed by the MBTA Ride Division as a Scheduler and Reservationist. She was very active in local politics. Nancy was a delegate at the first Clinton Convention in 1992. She was a confirmed Democrat. Nancy was a member on the Mayor’s Commission on the Handicap and also the Human Rights Commission in Quincy. She was active in Brownies and Girl Scouts and was a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts. She belonged to the Scituate Dramaturs Drama Group. She was the South Shore Coordinator of the Sisters of Cyrene Society run by the Little Sisters of the Poor of Greater Boston. Nancy was a longtime greeter at St, Francis of Assisi Church. She was a volunteer at the Quincy Medical Center, a member of the Women’s auxiliary and a volunteer for the Quincy WIC program. A wonderful organizer instrumental in setting up and creating a library for the residents at the Royal Rehab in Braintree where she had made her home for the last 7 years. Nancy is a loving mother, a great sister and a wonderful friend to all who knew her. She was the wife of the late Robert A. Follett and the late Basil J. “Jack” MacDonald. She is survived by her loving companion and life partner Paul Connington. Nancy is survived by her four children: Timothy Smith married to Anita Smith of Miami, The Reverend Alan Follett married to Carol Follett of Oak Park, VA, Gale F. Ryan married to Frank Ryan of Weymouth and Daniel A. Follett married to Hollis Stevens of Weymouth. She is the sister of Richard Jenkins of Hamden, ME and was the sister of the late Philip Jenkins, the late Judith Pohopec and the late David Jenkins. She also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews. There will be a gathering at the Mortimer N. Peck- Russell Peck Funeral Home 516 Washington Street BRAINTREE on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at 9:30am followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 856 Washington Street SOUTH BRAINTREE SQUARE at 10:30am. Burial will follow in Blue Hill Cemetery. Relatives and Friends invited. Visiting hours will be Monday 4:00-8:00pm at the Funeral Home.
