Of Brockton, September 6, 2004, Leigh Graham Francis Pye, beloved husband of Diane (Simpson) Pye. He is survived by his mother Helen (Peden) Pye of Scotland. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Elsie Simpson of Braintree and a brother-in-law, Paul H. Simpson and a sister-in-law, Susan Simpson, both of Millis and nephews Connor and Tyler Simpson and a niece, Rebecca Simpson also of Millis. . Relatives and friends are invited to the visiting hours from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 on Thursday at the Mortimer N and Russell F Peck Funeral Homes 516 Washington St. Braintree, Mass. A private family funeral service will be officiated by Reverend Gary Blume on Friday. For those who wish to make donations, donations may be made to the Skating Association of the Blind and Handicapped 1200 East and West Road, West Seneca, NY 14224.

OBITUARY On Albert F Osmanski

Albert F. Osmanski, Sr., 77, of Abington, a retired pipe fitter, died Wednesday at Brockton Hospital.

He was born in Newport, PA; he moved to the area in the early 50’s where he met his wife, a local girl from Braintree.

Mr. Osmanski, served in Korea with the Marine Corps 7th Regiment from 1947 thru 1952. He was involved in such notable actions as the landing at Inchon, the Battle for Seoul, and the Chosin Reservoir Campaign.

After Korea he was stationed at the Hingham Ammo Facility and then was Honorably Discharged from the Marines.

He then married Jean W. Linnen of Braintree and they were happily married for thirty two years.

He was a member of the “Frozen Chosin Group” and he attended several reunions of that group of Marines and their families.

He is survived by his sons, Michael R Osmanski, of Abington, Thomas F. Osmanski of North Carolina, and Albert F Osmanski, Jr. of Abington, Mass. He also leaves behind his four grandchildren Hilda Jean, William, Alex, and Max.

He was a dedicated Marine, as well as husband, a great father, and a very proud grandparent and will be missed by all those who knew him.

Ruth Audrey Mortell

Ruth Audrey (Atkins) Mortell, age 87 died Saturday September 10 after succumbing to her long battle with breathing problems. She died as she lived surrounded by the love of her family and friends. Born and raised in Hingham, Ruth loved to reminisce and revisit her childhood home in Hingham Center. For many years Ruth and her husband enjoyed camping, fishing, and bike riding all over the country. She was a member of the Wampatuck Improvement Association for over 40 years and loved to watch the Red Sox on television. Ruth felt ''she never had time to be sick'' as she was always busy creating hand made gifts for her family and friends and in her later life, spent hours solving jumble word puzzles. ''Grammy'' loved to brag about her four children Thirteen Grandchildren, Twenty- Five Great Grandchildren and One Great-Great Grandchild. Her favorite saying was that ''They all had no right to grow up so fast''. She will be sadly missed and forever loved by her devoted husband of 64 years Robert J. Mortell. Three sons Robert J. Mortell Jr. of Rockland Mass.Thomas F. Mortell of Sandbornton New Hampshire, and David M. Mortell of Hingham Mass. One Daughter Nancy L. Coughlan of Weymouth Mass. Thirteen Grandchildren Twenty Five Great Grandchildren and a Great-Great Grandson.

A Prayer Service will be held at the Mortimer N. Peck-Russell Peck Funeral Home 870 Broad Street, Jackson Square, East Weymouth on Wednesday at 11:00 AM. Sister Eleanor Ballentine of Saint Paul's Parish in Hingham will officiate. Relatives and friend invited. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery, East Weymouth. Visiting hours Tuesday at the funeral home from 4 to 8 pm.

Ruth Mortell was a communicant of Saint Paul's Parish in Hingham. She was a life long Hingham Resident and was a graduate of Hingham High School. She was the last of fourteen children in her family.

Rockland - Marilyn Mae (Dunbar) Monto, 68, of Rockland died unexpectedly at South Shore Hospital Weymouth on Wednesday. Born in Cambridge she was a former resident of Sommerville, MA. Marilyn was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She loved going to Disneyworld with her family and she always had a positive and happy and kind spirit to herself. She was dearly loved by her children and they know that they were loved by a wonderful woman. She worked as a saleswoman for Boston Baby in Hingham after retiring from working at Bonnano Rental Systems in Medford, MA. She was a very devoted wife to Ray a fully disabled veteran for 48 years. Everyone always wondered how she did it, because she never complained. She is survived by her husband: Raymond F. Monto; two daughters: Marilyn M. Borsari of Plymouth and Maureen M. Verrengia of Stoughton. She is also survived by a brother: Ronald Dunbar of Sandown, N.H. and a sister: Eileen Cook of Sommerville. She is survived also by three grandchildren. Arrangements have been made by Russell Peck, Jr. of the Mortimer N. and Russell F. PECK Funeral Home at 516 Washington St. in Braintree on Saturday at 9:30 A.M. and the Burial will be at the Blue Hill Cemetery. Visiting hours are Friday from 4 to 8 P.M.

DOBROWOLSKI - Barbara A. (Trainor) of Braintree Highlands entered into rest peacefully after ten months of challenges later due to a brain aneurysm on April 30th, 2007. She was the loving and heroic mother of Stanley A. Dobrowolski, Jr. of Braintree, Kathleen Dobrowolski of Braintree and Michael Dobrowolski of Halifax. Adored Grammy of Joshua Dobrowolski and mother-in-law of Stacey Dobrowolski. She is survived by her former husband, Stanley A. Dobrowolski. She was pre-deceased by her parents Marion and Edward Trainor Sr. She is survived by her brother Edward Trainor, jr. and his wife, Barbara Trainor, of Saugus. She is survived by cousins including Pat Savage and by many good and faithful friends. Funeral Braintree, on Thursday at 9:00 A.M. Funeral Mass in the Church of Saint Clare, 1244 Liberty Street, Braintree Highlands at 10:00 AM Relatives and friends invited. Burial will be in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintre. WEYMOUTH - Shirley Marie (Barnes) (Andrews) Bean, 83 years of age of Weymouth entered Life Eternal on Tuesday July 14, 2009 at her home. She was born at Tenants Harbor, Maine and was raised and educated there. Shirley was a resident of Weymouth for 55 years. She and her husband Raymond M. Bean, Sr. were very active with the South Shore Antique Auto Club. They were former members of the Caravan Club and members of the American Antique Auto Club. Shirley was a member of the First Baptist Church in Abington. She had been a buyer for the Grossman Company in Braintree.

She is survived by her beloved husband Raymond M. Bean, Sr. and by a son David F. Andrews married to Linda Andrews of Hanson. She was the wife of the late Donald B. Andrews. Shirley is the Step-mother of Raymond M. Bean, Jr. of Scituate, Francis Bean of Bethel, Vermont and Marion Rose of Sandwich. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Joyce Heal of Glen cove, Maine.

Funeral Service will be held at the Mortimer N. Peck- Russell Peck Funeral Home 870 Broad Street (Opposite the US Post Office, Jackson Square) EAST WEYMOUTH on Friday July 17, 2009 at 11:00am. The Reverend Larry Kanter will officiate. Burial will follow at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton. Visiting hours will be Thursday 4:00 to 8:00pm at the Funeral Home.

Marion W. (Bryan) Ballard, 79 years of age, entered Life Eternal at the South Shore Hospital on Friday, February 26, 2010. She was born and raised in Quincy. She was a graduate of Quincy High School. She was an active member of Christ Church (Episcopal) in Quincy Center where she belonged to the Mothers Club and participated in many activities including the Christmas fairs. For many years Marion had been a medical assistant at Quincy Pediatrics. With her late husband she enjoyed the activities of the New England Telephone Pioneers. She also attended the South Shore Stroke Club with her husband. She was the beloved wife of the late Ward Bennett Ballard who died in 2001. She is the loving mother of Linda A. Campbell married to Ian Campbell of North Scituate, R.I. and James W. Ballard married to Gweneth Ballard of Whitman. She is the devoted grandmother of Alan Patrick Campbell of Burriville, R.I., Elizabeth Jean Campbell of New York City, Bryan Emerson Ballard and Emily Mae Ballard, both of Whitman. She is the great grandmother of Emma Marie Campbell . There will be a gathering at the Mortimer N. Peck|Russell Peck Funeral Home, 5l6 Washington Street, BRAINTREE, on Wednesday, March 3rd at l0 a.m., followed by a Eucharistic Funeral Service at Christ Church (Episcopal), l2 Quincy Avenue, QUINCY CENTER at 11 a.m. The Reverend Clifford Brown, Rector of the Parish will officiate. Quincy – Rafaella (Colangelo) Giorgi entered Life Eternal on Saturday, May 8, 2010 after a brief illness. She was 92 years of age. She was the daughter of the late Louis and Angela Colangelo. She was born in Toronto, Canada and was raised in Upstate New York at Little Falls where she lived for 23 years. She was the wife of the late Americo Giorgi of Quincy, MA. who worked at Fore River Shipyard for 25 years. Mr. Giorgi was a veteran of W.W. II. He was a combat engineer in Belgium and Germany. They were married at St. Joseph’s Church in Little Falls, N.Y. in 1942. Rafaella was a member of the Church’s Society of Holy Angels. Surviving are her son, Barry L. Giorgi and his wife Jeanne of Hanover, MA.; daughter Marie Ella Patriarca and her husband George of Pembroke, grandson George Patriarca III and wife Kelly of Braintree; granddaughters, Andrea Lombardi and husband Edward of Weymouth, LeeAnne Divendra and husband “Chuck” Joseph of Pembroke and Nicole Swain and husband Matthew of Plymouth. She has five great grandchildren: Justin, McKenna, Madison, Michael and Kellan plus her grandchildren’s friends who also called her “Noni”. Rafaella had three sisters: Mildred Bonanni and Rochcina Monroe who lived in New York and Jenny Romano who lived in Arizona. She also had one brother, Leonard Colangelo who lived in New York. Her dearest friend, more as family, was Barbara Gale who with her husband Myron and their daughters Donna, Jean and Linda and son Greg all lived close by. Barbara helped with the weekly chores, picked her up to go to market to gather her meals and often enjoyed lunch together. Mrs. Giorgi could not express her gratitude for Barbara and her loving family who were always there for her. She worked locally for many years at the former Ted’s Home Bakery on Garfield Street in Quincy and for the Quincy school system in the cafeteria where she would meet and assist students during lunchtime, always with a smile to share with them. She enjoyed the outdoors, dancing, knitting and decorative painting. She enjoyed cooking and making homemade pasta for all the family and all by hand. An avid gardener with a green thumb she could grow anything she put in the ground. She loved to paint with watercolors and oils and had a talent for painting scenery and still life. She continued to paint into her 90’s. She also enjoyed knitting and when special occasions came, she always knitted something for everyone which became a family tradition and a source of joy and laughter. As a mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, her warmth and happiness was a comfort to everyone who knew and loved her. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. A Private Catholic Prayer Service will be held on Thursday, May l3th, at 11:00 A.M. at the Mortimer N. Peck – Russell Peck Funeral Home 516 Washington Street, BRAINTREE. Reverend Father Dominic Menna of Saint Mary’s Church West Quincy will officiate. Burial will follow at Mount Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy. Memorial donations may be sent to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation New England Chapter 60 Walnut St., Wellesley Hills, MA. 02481.
