He was born in 1917 in Boston, the son of Joseph and Ethel (Brodie) Maynard, and had lived most of his life in Gardner. He graduated from Gardner High School in 1936.

She was born May 1, 1916, in Acton, the daughter of Emrick P. and Nellier (Porter) Gates, and had lived there before moving to Shirley in 1940. She was educated at Acton High School.

She was born Feb. 25, 1925, in Leominster, the daughter of Cesare and Donata (Mazzola) Mangini, and had lived there before moving to Haverhill in 1977. She was educated in Leominster public schools.

He was born Jan. 5, 1920, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, the son of Ulric and Laura (Croteau) Poirier, and had lived in Fitchburg before moving to Leominster more than 50 years ago. He was a 1937 graduate of Fitchburg High School.
