Lottie M. Bergeron

ORANGE - Lottie M. (Wallace) Bergeron, 80, formerly of East River St., passed away peacefully Monday in the Quabbin Valley Healthcare, Athol.
Born in Wright City, Okla., on Aug. 10, 1923, a daughter of Edward and Marie (Cayce) Wallace, she grew up in Oklahoma, one of five children in the family.
She met her future husband, Arnold, while he was stationed in Galveston, Texas with the United States Army Air Corps during World War Two. The couple married in 1941. Lottie moved to Orange in 1942 where she lived with Arnold's parents for the duration of the war. She resided in Orange for 60 years.
An active member of the Orange United Methodist Church for many years, she was a former co - chairman of its annual fair.
She was accounts manager at the Athol Memorial Hospital 18 years until retiring in 1983. Previously she worked as secretary at Veterans Services Office for the Town of Orange and was a charter member of the Orange Housing Authority.
An artist, she enjoyed painting with oil and acrylics, making crafts, sewing and crossword puzzles.
She was a member of Orange Senior Citizens.
Her husband of 43 years, Arnold W. Bergeron, Sr., died in 1984. She was also predeceased by three brothers, RL Wallace, JE Wallace and BJ Wallace.
She is survived by a son, Arnold W. Bergeron, Jr. and wife, Debra, of Athol; two daughters, Jeanne Rogers and husband, John, of Rindge, NH, and Deborah Fisher of Orange; seven grandchildren, Christopher Johnson and wife, Gwen, of Pepperell, Heather Gifford and husband, David, of Mt. Laurel, NJ, Robert Fisher and wife, Kelly, of Athol, William Fisher and wife, Rebecca, of Orange, Justin Bergeron of Worcester, David Bergeron and Amy Bergeron both of Athol; nine great grandchidlren; a sister, Imogene Fisher, and husband, William, of East Longmeadow; several nephews and nieces.
A funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in Witty's Funeral Home. The Rev. Freda Maier, former Pastor of Orange United Methodist Church, will officiate.
Burial will follow in South Cemetery.
Calling hours are Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers contributions are suggested to the Quabbin Valley Healthcare Activities Fund, 821 Daniel Shays Hwy., Athol, 01331.

Mary T. Kaminsky
ATHOL - Mary T. Kaminsky, 69, of Athol died Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2004, in the Athol Memorial Hospital.
Funeral arrangements under the direction of Fiske Funeral are incomplete.

ATHOL - Alice (Williams) (Mann) Sutton, 90, of 882 Pleasant St., died Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2004, in the Quabbin Valley Healthcare.

Marian L. Batchelor
Nurse, Health Aide
ORANGE - Marian L. (Race) Batchelor, 71, of 35 Wheeler Ave., died Sunday, Aug. 8, 2004, at home following an illness.
She was born in New London, CT, on March 2, 1933, the daughter of the late Max and the late Mary P. (Brailey) Race. She grew up in Vermont and was educated in Vermont.
Mrs. Batchelor was a resident of Orange for 29 years coming from Vermont. She worked as a nurse for over 35 years in local nursing homes and as a home health aide.
She was a member of the Yankee Doodle Sams — a national camping organization — and a member of the Catamount Sportsmen Club in Colrain. She enjoyed making crafts.
She leaves her husband of 31 years, Richard D. Batchelor; five daughters: RoseAnna Albee of Athol, Susan Rameau of Winchendon, Liza Rouchleau of Athol, Jackuline Giordano of Florida, Debra Giordano of Oregon; ten sons: Arnold Magill of Louisianna, Brian Batchelor of White River Junction, VT, Myron Magill of California, Fred Mobley of Athol, Douglas Batchelor of Orange, Anthony Batchelor of Fitchburg, Ernest Batchelor of Fitchburg, Max Giordano of California, Matthew Giodano of Florida, William Giordano of Fitchburg; two brothers: William Race of Connecticut, Albert Race of Vermont; 33 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Two brothers, John Race and Max Race, predeceased her.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday. Aug. 11, at 10 a.m. at the Fiske Funeral Home, 1356 Main Street, Athol.
Burial will follow the service in Lower Cemetery, Phillipston.
A calling hour will be held Wednesday, Aug. 11, from 9 to 10 a.m. in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to American Cancer Society´s, New England Division Office, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 or the Oncology Department at Athol Memorial Hospital 2033 Main St., Athol, MA 01331.

Catherine F. Riendeau
Enjoyed Cooking
BARRE - Catherine F. Riendeau, 84 of 503 South Barre Rd. died Sunday, Aug. 8, 2004 in UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester.
Her husband of 59 years died in January of 2000. She leaves three sons, Stephen J. and his wife Maureen, Edward P. and his wife Joan both of Barre, and Paul A. his wife Maureen of Orange; one sister, Angelina Duval of Barre; eight grandchildren and eight great - grandchildren. One brother, Andrew Femino, predeceased her.
Catherine was born in South Barre, a daughter of Stefano and Maria (Femino) Riendeau, and had been a lifelong resident of Barre. She worked for the Barre Wool combing Co. for many years, as a cook at a local nursing home in Hardwick, and at Sprague eletric in Worcester before she retired.
She was a member of St. Thomas A Becket Church and enjoyed cooking for family and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 11, from the Pillsbury Funeral Home, 96 S. Barre Rd., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Thomas A Becket Church, Vernon Ave, South Barre.
Burial will be in St. Josephs Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 10, from 6 to 9 p.m. in the funeral home.

Humphrey L. Nash Jr.
Summered In Royalston
SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Humphrey L. Nash Jr., 86, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, Aug. 5, 2004. For more than 60 years he spent summers in Royalston, MA.
Nashwas born in Winnetka, IL on July 9, 1918, and was one of four sons of Humphrey L. Nash Sr. and Margaret Arthars Nash. He lived in Shaker Heights, Ohio until he went to Phillips Exeter Academy in Exeter, NH. He then entered Harvard and graduated with honors from Harvard in 1939 and from Harvard Law School in 1942.
He was first employed by the law firm of Ropes Gray in Boston and later by ARAMCO as a tax attorney from 1951 through 1963 after which he devoted himself to business interests.
He is survived by his six children: Christopher Nash, Humphrey H. Nash, Jennifer Nash Morgan, Cedric Nash, Tabitha Nash and Angus Nash; and by 15 grandchildren, four great - grandchildren; and by his brother John Nash.
There will be a brief public memorial service Saturday, Aug. 14 at 11 a.m. at the First Congregational Church, On the Common, Royalston, with the Rev. Dr. Virginia E. Asel pastor, officiating.
Private graveside services will be held at Lawrence Brook Cemetery following the service. The family will receive friends and family at Humphrey’s home in Royalston from 1 to 3 p.m.
In lieu of flowers it is requested that Humphrey be remembered with donations to the Phinehas S. Newton Library, On the Common, Royalston, MA 01368 or a charity of choice.

WENDELL - Angela Medora (Roland) Arslan, 32, of 435 Wendell Depot Rd., died Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2004.

Schiappa Services
ORANGE - A Liturgy of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, Aug. 7, 2004 in St. Mary's Church, for Caterina (Pesci) Schiappa, 94, of 673 North Main St., who died on Thursday, Aug. 5, 2004 at the home of her son and daughter - in - law, Frank and Kathy Schiappa, following an illness. The Rev. Fr. William Lunney was celebrant. Janet Paoletti was the organist and Theresa Bergquist and Robert Ellison were the cantors. St. Mary's Women's Club provided an honor guard.
Interment followed in South Cemetery, Orange. The pallbearers were, Frank Schiappa, John Schiappa, James Schiappa, Kathy Schiappa, Angela Wiston, and Michael Schiappa. Following the committial service, a reception was held in St. Mary's Parish Hall.
Witty's Funeral Home, Orange, directed the arrangements.

Fauteux Services
ATHOL - Funeral services for Maxine A. (Prim) Matthews Fauteux, 86 of 151 So. Royalston Rd., formerly of Lenox St., were held Thursday, Oct. 7, at Starrett Memorial United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Dr. R. Lee Smith, pastor officiating. The organist was Donald "Spin" Ainsworth and burial followed in South Cemetery in Orange.
The bearers were; Roland Matthews Jr., David Matthews, Tom Fritz, Matt Haskins and Doug Carey. A reception followed in the fellowship hall at Starrett Church.
Higgins - O'Connor Funeral Home directed arrangements.
